Here's some logic:
I always get told to let my emotions flow as the come so I don't become a ticking time bomb. But on the other hand the second I seem to ge slightly annoyed at something (like noise from partying teens while trying to sleep... I feel old now) my mom will instantly say "stay calm".
So... I should let emotions out, but not get annoyed? Things like this genuinely confuse the living daylight out of me because I can't stay calm while annoyed without bottling said feeling up, but I shouldn't bottle feeling up because the last time that happened I punched someone knock out...

It's not ideal to bottle the feelings, however in most cases it's not worth it to lose your composure. I suppose the only thing to do when you're faced with such a tricky situation is to speak to the person candidly or in a toned down version about your displeasure and hope it leads to a solution without conflict.
