Gen IV probably hasn't aged very well but I would say HGSS are the best remakes the series has had...given they only remade 3 gens. Best game in the series is B2W2 and I will fight you on that to the death. HeartGold I'd say is my third favorite Pokemon game I've played behind Platinum and White 2. Emerald and Fire Red aren't that much below that though. What it was at the time was amazing because the game was quite literally packed to the brim with content and it played pretty smooth...for the time. I could gush on for hours why all the new content for the game made a average adventure into an amazing one. Don't get me started on the Pokethon.

I find Gen 2 and its remakes way too long. That's a good thing for some, but I get tired/bored easily and an extra set of Gym leaders to beat can be tiresome. I think the problem is more that the Kanto part comes after beating the Johto league so it's more like a Post-game feel, rather than the number of gym leaders being overwhelming. Cause I haven't run into this problem with Reborn and that's the only difference I can find to attribute to.

the only part in all of johto I find interesting is the pokeathlon. not even there in the originals.

by far my least favorite region in the entire series, including kalos.

I personally prefer usum due to the story being changed slightly but strongly. Lusamine goes from a crazy psycho mum to a slightly less crazy antihero. some may consider the games lazy (but it's not like said people complained about Platinum, Emerals, Crystal, and yellow) but yeah, definitly a great game

Yeah, I'd love to play USUM if I get the chance, especially with the new Ultra Beast you can get in Poipole, among other mons I'd love to try and use. I'd also say that I do like Lusamine's arc in SuMo because of how she interacts with her children. I don't know how different it is in USUM, but the abuse parallels in Lillie and Gladion's relationships with her are actually fairly well done for a game intended for a younger audience.

Honestly I make it my policy to never complain about the remakes, since they're almost exclusively better than the older versions. I've never played Yellow or Crystal, but Emerald was much harder than RS and IMO watching the villains fight and then make amends at the end was better than one of them just winning all game, Platinum massively expanded DP's lackluster mon variety, and USUM had new villain plotlines with Necrozma and Rainbow Rocket in the postgame.

Usum lusa is quite similar she just doesn't go completely of the depad

you mean squirtle? yeah that line didn't really have much going for it, barring Rapid Spin, which wasn't really that useful in single-player. I used it once in firered, but I never liked it as much as charmander/bulbasaur, who each did their own thing really well as opposed to the turtle, who was more of a generalist.

Yeah, BW's variety starts opening up just before the second gym, and the stretch from there to the electric gym leader is pretty much almost all the best mons in the game. Elesa totally rinsed me in BW when I faced her though. Emolga, barring a Drilbur to null electric and use rock, is a real pain to fight.

I love usum. one of my favorite games in the series. however, lusamine is terrible and one of the worst villains in the series there. half of her dialogue is blatant unchanged leftovers from sm and it just doesnt work with the new plotline.

I'm certain there's some kind of instinctual urge that is satisfied by building a nice house by yourself in a video game.

It's not ideal to bottle the feelings, however in most cases it's not worth it to lose your composure. I suppose the only thing to do when you're faced with such a tricky situation is to speak to the person candidly or in a toned down version about your displeasure and hope it leads to a solution without conflict.

I think people would just be ecstatic about that. We knew Gen 8 was coming. The other two probably will never have another entry.
