  1. I played on Normal Mode and still found some boss battles pretty difficult. I tried to do an EV challenge run similar to what I did for Reborn but I gave up halfway because it was just impossible (probably due to the fact that I suck at Pokemon ) I might try playing at extreme difficulty but I'll probably ragequit.
  2. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-262706898 One of those battles that teach us not to be cocky even though you have the upper-hand as the situation could always turn around.
  3. Week 8 Amethyst Division Xiri (Jiniri) vs FraRPetO (1-0) http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/reborn-ou-29912 gg mate. Extremely close.
  4. I'll do one. Seismitoad (A- Rank) Obtainable: Before Gym 1 (obtained as a Shadow Pokemon initially) Abilities: Water Absorb is the best ability, but Swift Swim could work in certain situations. Don't go for Poison Touch. Moves: Aqua Ring, Muddy Water, Rain Dance, Hydro Pump, Drain Punch, Hyper Voice, Surf, Dig Useful For: Boss Battles, Valerie, Amber, Angie Summary: Seismitoad has been surprising me immensely in my playthrough with its awesomeness. It does eat up hits quite well (unless it is a grass-type attack), and performs well as its job as a mixed attacker with decent moves such as STAB Hydro Pump/Surf and Drain Punch. Super-useful against Valerie, Angie and Amber. The major problem of Seismitoad is that it is slow - and this unfortunately allows speedy fire Pokemon to OHKO it with a grass move (e.g Narcissa's Chandelure). Also, some field effects decrease the power of Water-type moves - although this can be resolved to some extent via the move Rain Dance.
  5. Xiri saw the Aqua Ring animation! It's super effective! Xiri fainted!
  6. Water Absorb Seismitoad was extremely helpful in this battle. Lanturn, Rotom-Wash and Milotic can't hurt it - as Ice Beam is the only attack that is able to inflict damage on this toad. Additionally, if Aqua Ring is used - the damage is pretty much negated, following HP restoration via the field. Lapras's Ice Beam hits harder - but Drain Punch is there to counter it. Does Slowbro only pack a psychic-type move as its only offensive move? I've only seen Light Screen, Reflect and Calm Mind being used. If so, a Dark type walls it (I used a Liepard).
  7. I'm probably like the only person who had trouble with Crawli... because my team was extremely weak to Bug and Flying type attacks (and hence that Yanmega was a nightmare). Being the stubborn person who refuses to switch any of my team members, the battle took a number of attempts until I finally managed to pull through. And that Zetta Geara double-battle was tough, and half the time I was thinking 'OMG MELIA WHERE THE FUCK IS YOUR YANMEGA WHO GAVE ME LOADS OF TROUBLE BACK IN THE BLIMMIN SHIP'.
  8. Oh god this was a nightmare - but Prankster Liepard and Deerling's Leech Seed helped me out here.
  9. Yep I guess you have to finish Version 6 first. Thanks again!
  10. I just finished V6 and it was awesome!! Can't wait for the next version to be released! Keep up the good work! Just one last question - can the Poliwag quest be completed in this version? I've been searching widely... but I've only managed to find only 3 Poliwags
  11. Narcissa is still by the statue and prevents me from talking to it (and this is after I completed the help request in Kristilline)
  12. I defeated Angie and got the Glacier Badge... but I have no idea what to do next. Melia has fallen ill, and Valerie has left to get some medicine... where do I go next?
  13. Thanks Shing! Will definitely try your suggestion! As for Cut on Infernape... it was a stupid mistake. I really thought priority moves weren't going to be too important to have in-game, but yeah that mistake has been costing me a lot. EDIT: Whelp never mind. I thought I would face them one more time with my current team, and I luckily achieved victory. Surprisingly, MVPs went to Vileplume (Stun Spore came through) and Magneton. Once Saki was down, Magneton was able to pull through as Drapion didn't go for Earthquake for some reason.
  14. It's not exactly the 'main' gym battle, but I'm stuck here. Saki & Venam Double Battle (teamed up with Melia) Current Team: Infernape (Lv. 48) Iron Fist Naughty Nature - Close Combat - Poison Sweep - Flame Wheel - Cut Seismitoad (Lv. 49) Water Absorb Bold Nature - Bounce - Drain Punch - Surf - Aqua Ring Tangrowth (Lv. 49) Regenerator Bold Nature - Ancient Power - Giga Drain - Wild Charge - Knock Off Magneton (Lv. 45) Sturdy Naughty Nature - Charge Beam - Discharge - Flash Cannon - Metal Sound Liepard (Lv. 48) Prankster Mild Nature - Fake Out - Night Slash - Sand Attack - Slash Vileplume (Lv. 48) Chlorophyll Bashful Nature - Giga Drain - Irritation - Toxic - Stun Spore PC Members: Loudred (Lv. 24) Bonsly (Lv. 19) Vanillite (Lv. 19) Zubat (Lv. 5) Geodude (Lv. 12) Houndour (Lv. 15) Skitty (Lv. 20) Lunatone (Lv. 15) Electrike (Lv. 10) Mime Jr. (Lv. 15) Spearow (Lv. 25) Gothita (Lv. 20) Litleo (Lv. 17) Roggenrola (Lv. 21) Torkoal (Lv. 24) Buizel (Lv. 33) Growlithe (Lv. 31) Sunflora (Lv. 33) Spoink (Lv. 30) Phantump (Lv. 31) Shroomish (Lv. 1) Duskull (Lv. 34) Ditto (Lv. 35) Mawile (Lv. 30) Elekid (Lv. 25) Sawsbuck (Lv. 47) Gastrodon (Lv. 35) Mareep (Lv. 30) Scolipede (Lv. 50) Shadow Jumpluff (Lv. 35) Shadow Vivillon (Lv. 32) Shadow Masquerain (Lv. 36) Melia is pretty much useless in this battle because all her Pokemon gets OHKOed by poison and steel type attacks (and she doesn't use healing items... unlike our opponents). My team is pretty mediocre too - and I usually don't switch any of my members, but I feel it would be necessary in order to proceed.
  15. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/randombattle-260466361 The comeback is real (feat. lucky burn)
  16. 10) Weavile This thing is FAST and it hits hard. Having access to powerful STAB moves like Icicle Crash and Knock Off as well as to priority moves such as Fake Out and Ice Shard makes it a scary threat late-game 9) Landorus-Therian It may not be as versatile as its incarnate form, but Landorus can be fun to experiment with. Personally, it is my favorite Stealth Rock user and I really LOVE annoying opponents with my Rocky Helmet variant when they go for a U-Turn. Intimidate is always useful too (except when Bisharp is around). 8) Rotom-Wash This cheeky washing machine has Will-O-Wisp and Pain Split - which offers a combo of annoyance to the opponent. The only downside of Rotom-Wash is that most people run basically the same set, making it pretty predictable. 7) Mega Sableye Oh, you think you can set up entry hazards on me? HOW ABOUT NO! 6) Azumarill Always have something on deck to handle a Belly Drum Azumarill.... because if it manages to successfully set up - you're in trouble. It's nice to see how such a underused Pokemon received a tremendous upgrade. 5) Magnezone Ferrothorn, Scizor, Klefki and Skarmory's worst nightmare. It's always fun trapping Pokemon in a non-Gothitelle way. Shed Shell and U-Turn does exist - but still. 4) Keldeo Relatively fast and it will hit things hard (especially harder if a Life Orb is attached). There are obvious checks to Keldeo however - such as Mega Manectric and Mega Alakazam. 3) Mega Altaria My personal favorite Mega! I mean, who wouldn't love a cottonball dragon that is even more fluffier? This thing can successfully sweep teams if bulky Steel types are out of the way with one Dragon Dance. With Pixilate offering extra strength, this dragon/fairy Pokemon could be a nightmare to deal with. 2) Mega Metagross I've only recently started to use M-Metagross... and I've been having so much success with it. I don't think I need to say anymore. 1) Clefable No, not the Magic Guard Clefable. UNAWARE CLEFABLE is just awesome (and annoying). Think you can set up? I don't think so. Tail Glow Manaphy? Dragon Dance CharizardX? Belly Drum Azumarill? This fairy is not interested. Unaware Clefable made so many of my opponents rage quit in frustration - and hence it is probably the Pokemon that I utilize the most in OU.
  17. Agreed. The animation looks awesome - but if the transition was a lot smoother, it would be perfect!
  18. Ooh haven't posted in this thread yet. I'm glad we're back too! It was awkward not being able to visit Reborn even though the site was down for only a few days.
  19. Week 7 Amethyst Division Xiri (Jiniri) vs MMM (Umbreeown) (3-0) http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/reborn-ou-28940 gg mate!
  20. SERRA NEEDS TO RETURN!!! She's the only character that hasn't made a reappearance yet, and it would be nice to see more of her involved in the Bennett conflict.

Joey is probably going to sweep through everyone imo - except Dan (aDrive) seems to be a pretty competent candidate too. I've been following Shady and Nappy's progresses (because I've been following their channels for a while), and they've been doing alright so far. Shady did play quite poorly in the last battle - but it was frustrating to see that many people were criticizing Shady for losing to Kristen with the attitude of 'omg you lost to her?'. Personally I thought she played pretty well and made some nice plays, and it was annoying to see that she didn't receive much credit.
  22. Am I the only one that found the pronoun talk rather natural?
