  1. Of course, the member of my family that I need to find records of military service of happens to be my deceased grandfather, who happened to be a spy.

That's annoying yet kickass at the same time, I think.

  2. I am looking forward to the launch of Philosophy Club! The person who has inspired me the most in life is quite probably either Albert Einstein or Oda Nobunaga, as both overcame innumerable roadblocks in their lives to become the game-changing colossuses is that colossuses or colossi? I can never tell that they are known as today. Einstein specifically in the pursuits of science and academics and Oda in the art of tactics and defying the odds. I can't accurately choose which one I look up to more, but if I had to say, I would likely choose Oda since I have always felt somewhat dejected as a second son and Oda overcame the fact that he was also the second, and often overlooked, second son. Okay, now onto my question. If you could rewrite one historical event and no, we're not debating the ethics or potential repercussions of doing so, just answer the question , which would you choose and why?
  3. Spiritomb can be quite a nice Pokemon against him, since it is able to deal with Gallade with exactly 0 problems due to the Dark/Ghost typing. Nasty Plot Mismagius can also click Shadow Ball a couple of times to kill everything bar Malamar for the win. Incidentally, you need a Spiritomb to get Nasty Plot on Mismagius, so using both isn't a bad idea.
  4. Civ VI sounds like it's gonna be a heck of an upgrade from V. Granted, we'll see how it actually pans out, but I for one am excited.

  5. We'll likely hear more on Zygarde by the launch of Soon for a couple of reasons. One, Ash and Co. are travelling with a Zygarde cell this season iirc and two, the trailer for Movie 19 at the end of Hoopa's movie featured Zygarde. Due to these reasons, and the aforementioned Zygarde from Mystery Gift, I'd say it's fairly safe to say we'll be learning more about Zygarde soon enough.
  6. I always enjoy the starters and I try to value them for thier own different traits and designs, that being said, I do adore Rowlet, with Litten a close second and Poppilo is also nice, but my least favorite of the three. I kinda want to use all three as I play through Sun and Moon tbh. Poppilo definitely doesn't deserve the hate it's getting from a large portion of the internet. It's just a fun little seal.
  7. Naming my Rowlet WanShiTong I called it, you can't have it.

  8. Yeah, I'm just going to be playing UU for a little while, if anyone needs me.... It looks like UU is really the only tier that gained from these adjustments. NU gets to deal with Smeargle and Banded Aggron now (2HKOs Steelix with two different moves if you're wondering. It gets a kill nearly everytime it coems in because nothing can safely switch in. It'll likely rise up to BL3 soon enough). RU is shifting rapidly with Amoongus gone. It'll be interesting to see what Honchkrow can do with a fairly strong movepool. Heat Wave is very nice for the likes of Escaviler and Brave Bird+Dark moves are very attractive in RU. Steel Wing also OHKOs Diance with Steel Wing after a Moxie boost with a Jolly Nature, so that is worth noticing. Honchkrow is going to be very threatning to play against in RU in coming weeks. Honestly, Quag and The Mushroom moving on up to OU is only really annoying for facing newer players who will then play more stally because they see these interesting mons they've never used before. Otherwise, it's basically the same. Besides, look on the bright side. If these adjustments truly impact the metagame and a lot of people end up using these mons, they'll be moved on up to Ubers fairly soon. Once again though, this is nice for UU because that's two less fat mons that it has to worry about (also for RU and the like). Conk is nice in UU. It can basically do a lot of damge to most everything in the tier thanks to Sheer Force Poison Jab, Elemental Punches, and fighting STAB. Celebi is in a nice place in UU and I was upset when it left it last time. It's nice both as a BP user for Sword Dances, Nasty Plots, and Calm Minds, but also as an offensive Pokemon. Giga Drain, Psychic, and Earth Power can handle most things that want to switch in. There are enough things threatning it that it won't become too centralized, but it will be especially nice against the ever present bulky Waters that are present on most teams (Vaporeon, Suicune, Almolamola, ect). Sylveon will likely edge Hydreigon out of UU. Mence has other roles in the tier as an Intimidator and Defogger, so it should be able to stay put. Haxorous can kill it with Posion Jab after a DD and rock damage, so it should be fairly unaffected.
  9. Two potential abilities I'm surprised no one has put out there yet: Analytic and Technician. Analytic: this guess is mostly based on the fact that it's a pocketwatch and timing and the like. I'm mostly just putting this one here as speculation. Technician: this one could be very nice on a Bug/Ground type due to providing strong STAB moves with bonus effects. It gets Bug Bite to devour opposing berries and Bulldoze for dropping the Speed of everyone, not to mention things like Rock Tomb, which also benefit from Technician.
  10. You thought ORAS had too much water? Get ready for Alola, based on the islands of Hawaii!

Yep. That's how earth is too, with 7.8/10 too much water. IGN is Idiotic.

  11. I very much hoep that this is getting all my bad luck out of me before Pokenations...

  12. I'm replaying through FE7 because I felt like it and it just occurred to me that the speech I wrote and preformed for months this year happens to be closely linked to a phrase in Mathew and Guy's A Rank Support.

    1. AuthorReborn

      AuthorReborn

Matthew: "What will you do when you hit your wall? That one opponent you’ll never be able to beat? When you hit that wall that you just can’t get over... That’s when you’ll realize. You’re not special. You’re a bit player, one of the masses. Most people given up then. They realize they’re not young anymore, they don’t have talent. They think up some excuse why they don’t have to try. That’s how they go on with their lives."

  13. I see what you were saying the other day when you were saying that you're glad that you don't live in America...

General Availability: I will be picking up 1-2 jobs this summer and I will update this when I can. I'll be out of town June 4th-10th and I'm unsure about my internet access during that time period. I'll edit this post whenever I can supply more information as to this point.
  16. Why is it that when I go and try to play some Pokemon battles, I miss a Leaf Storm, WoW, Head Smash, Leech Seed, Toxic, and more, all while my opponent never misses and seems to always crit and get the bonus status effect?

why are you using head smash though lmao

      Because Tyrantrum. RAAAAWR.

Also, it's not hax. It's just the game we play. Consequently, I have a Haxorus called 'Game we Play'. Because it's not hax! It's the game we play!

    4. AuthorReborn

      AuthorReborn

I never said it was hax, but stats do seem to hate me. Also, @Spade, I was playing Battle Factory since I didn't feel like making teams to play with and I had a Banded Aggron and he had no switch in that I didn't want to weaken considerably by smacking it with a Head Smash because his best switch was going into his Registeel and tanking the hit or going into his Magneton, but either one would have been 2HKOed from their range of HP, so it was my best possible play.

  17. I think the general consensus is that today just kinda sucks.

  18. Someone must have sent out their Primal Groudon, because things are really heating up in here and any attempt to cool it down is likely to fail.

      Ice Burn, what?

  19. I'm inclined to say that Panpour is the best of them for fairly simple reasons. 1- it learns Scald via level-up, which is always good. 2- It, like practically every other water type with the exception of a few oddballs, like Whiscash has Ice type moves to completement its Water STAB, meaning that it can kill either of the other monkeys in single combat. Rinner up is probably Pansage because Leech Seed is nice, plus if you're feeling cheeky, you can do something crazy like White Herb Leaf Storm+Acrobatics+Knock Off to hurt a wide array of foes. Pansear is just bad and I refuse to use it period because it is just annoying.
  20. I enjoy using Shaymin-Sky. Unfortunately, it's a little hard to with Primal Groudon running Ubers and that x4 Ice weakness isn't helping either.

"Worse than Mega Mence" implies that Mega Mence is a problem, which it really isn't. Regardless, P-Don IS an overly centralizing force that really takes away a big chunk of fun from the tier. Nowadays, the best way of building a succesful Ubers team is taking P-Don and then adding five other guys. Not really what I'd call a "healthy metagame".

    3. Ironbound

      Ironbound

That's what I meant; But yeah, there's literally zero reason to not use PDon.

    4. AuthorReborn

      AuthorReborn

Shaymin often can't even reliably 2HKO with Seed Flare due to the faulty accuracy. Otherwise, it would be able to always 2HKO after rocks damage.

  21. Taunt should be moved up the list a bit, if only looking at the other entires of the list. 1, 4, 5, 8, and 10 (also 9 if you're faster) are all completely useless if you are Taunted. That means 50-60% of the best moves in the current metagame are rendered a pracitcally worthless moveslot because of Taunt. And that's not even taking into account the honorable mentions/runners up, which includes Boosting moves, both Spike variants, Rest/Sleep Talk, other status moves, and even Trick Room. For these reasons, I kinda feel like Taunt should be at slot 6 or 7, simply because it obliterates most of these top-tier strategies.
  22. http://prnt.sc/b0f8if Well that is not what I was expecting to see trending today, that's for sure.
  23. Good god... I'm on mobile so I can't see the actual pictures properly, but this is quite the addiction going on here, Tomas. You only first heard about this thing, like, yesterday, and it's already taking over your life.
  24. Low ladder is a very strange place. I just witnessed a guy use a Defog Ninjask in OU...

It's also 4x weak to stealth rock.

    3. AuthorReborn

      AuthorReborn

If you want a Defogger that's weak to rocks, use Togekiss or Zapdos. If you want one that will be neutral, use Skarm. If you want one that resists, Empoleon exists and it is immune to T-Spikes as well. With defenses like Ninjask has, it's pointless to have Defog on it because it'll die on switch in if it is hit by really anything. He also had a Volcarona and a Thundurus-I on his team.

      Raindrop Valkyrie

I mean I can understand from the "It's fast so, that means it's good for this right?" some people don't have a lot of experience and only know surface level stuff so... they might really not know better. They could see that after watching how poorly it goes etc... or they could just not learn since that happens.. XD. ANyway... is it good? no... but I could see how a person suuuuper new to comp might think it is... remember it's low ladder for a reason some just started.
