  1. I did the isidewithquiz in November last year and I ended up mostly agreeing with Bernie, which I can safely say was the first time I had heard of him due to the media failing to cover his campaign to a similar extent of the other candidates. (Read: Trump.) Since then, I have been reading up on all the candidates and I can safely say that Bernie is the candidate I agree with more so than anyone else who has a chance. I would certainly be OK with Jill Stein, but honestly, she won't be the POTUS (President of the United States of America). It always saddens me to see the current system that we have is so focused on keeping the power between the two major parties. The system of only picking on candidate on your ballot instead of ranking your favorite candidates and then slowly eliminating candidates until eventually one eventually wins out, based on everyone's rankings and choices, is terrible and it discourages outsider candidates.
  2. Why are there so many MonoElectric teams in Monotype? It really doesn't have much going for it besides the special attacking stat and the one weakness!

Idk, it's incredibly bulky. Base 140 defense is nothing to scoff at, so it can easily come in on a lot of physical sweepers and Rapid Spin.

      Raindrop Valkyrie

keep in mind you have to be at 75% health and it's base is pretty awful. Okay 70 is... passable at best but... 75% of that is not really a great amount. Mayn things can easily get access to EQ... so it's an okay choice jsut one that's easily not going to hinder you not having it as well though.

Well it IS mono. Torkoal has 3 weaknesses, and can endure a hit from a non-STAB SE move. So yeah, this means that, realistically, its chances to Rapid Spin effectively are significantly limited in only 3 match-ups, to which you need to add the Ghost match-up that prevents spinning altogether. I dunno, 4 bad match-ups out of 18 seems reasonable enough to grant the turtle a spot.

  3. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-360897597 I love the internet, where people will call you a pedophile simply because you destroyed them. I should probably mention my mom isn't actually dead, but I said that to force them in a Catch 22, where they either deny that someone's parent is dead and be made to look like an even worse person or they admit to necrophilia. Either way, I win. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-360903069 Fire v Water
  4. Fun Fact: Primal Kyorge has an entirely wasted 150 Base attack, thus tying with Zekrom and higher than common offensive threats, such as Mega Loppuny (136) and Mega Lucario (145), so feel free to run Waterfall Kyorge to catch that Blissey off guard!

IIRC that is also true for Groudon's SpAtk, although that one sees more usage. I remember fighting a physical Kyo with Waterfall, EQ and some filler a while back.

  5. Fun fact: Shieldon has higher base defense (118) than Slowbro (110).

Bastiodon is also entirely outclassed by Probopass in PU where they both rot. Probopass has the same typing, does the Sturdy+SR gig better, has higher offensive power (still shit though) and has Volt Switch. Also it wins the ugliness contest as well.

      AuthorReborn

Yeah, Shieldon actually has decent mixed defenses. But it has base 30 HP and Steel/Rock typing, making it weak to, like everything.

Na, although I've found a decent number of those. But the Flame Plate is one of the worst, along with Splash, Meadow, and Toxic, to have be the last plate you find because every shard gets your hopes up.

      Ironbound

Ah, I understand that pain. When I last played through Reborn, I had exceptional trouble finding the Iron and Pixie Plates.

Now my Metagross and Clefable are satisfied, though.

  10. Hey, I don't mind. I always enjoy a good intellectual discourse. This particular instance actually leads to a discussion of a variation of the Ship of Theseus paradox, where the original ship, Oddish, is seen restored in Bellossom and seen replaced by another entity carrying on under the same name in Vileplume. Gloom is the point of equilibrium between the parasite and the actual plant, where only an evolutionary stone could tip the balance either way. The question then being asked is whether Vileplume is still Oddish, when it has been practically usurped by the parasite. Similarly, you could ask is Bellossom still Oddish, since the parasite was also a portion of what made Oddish what it was, thus the Poison typing. In either final form, however, one side wins out and becomes happy, so both could be seen as an acceptable result. I tend to lean towards the victim, but you view is perfectly valid as well and I respect it. Although, I must say, I'm a little disappointed you didn't refer to it as a "Exca-hill," as an Excadrill pun.
  11. I have several things to say about this, since it is far less far-fetched than you might think.Firstly, Gloom/Vileplume are based on Rafflesia arnoldii, which is a massive plant that emits a terrible odor. A description of the plant is as follows: "It lives as a parasite on several vines of the genus Tetrastigma , which grow only in primary (undisturbed) rainforests." Thus, Gloom and Vileplume are clearly afflicted by the presence of this parasite, while Bellossom has been cleansed of its influence. Furthermore, Bellossom's defenses are actually higher than Vileplume's, so that argument doesn't quite make sense. Vileplume is the offensive one of the pair and it uses its poison to dismay and stun its prey.
  12. Not because I particularly enjoy using it, but Bellossom. It's because Oddish and Gloom are plauged by a terrible infection, hence the poison typing. And in the end, based on the player's choice, you can either save it or damn it with a Sun or Grass Stone, respectively. The Grass Stone allows the fungus to take over the host fully, while the Sun Stone bestows the host all the strength needed to purge the fungus, once and for all, hence the pure Grass typing. If that story isn't one to be proud of, then I don't know what is.

Most every team has an Ice move of some sort on it and most strong Dragons have a x4 weakness to it, so it's less useful than you might think.

  15. I enjoy both forms, although for vastly different reasons. I enjoy being able to create my own unique character from scratch and letting my own actions dictate the plot because, if properly executed, it can lead to quite an intriguing tale about the consequences, forseen and otherwise, of my own actions. On the other hand, there is a certain appeal of being able to jump into a specific portion of a character's life and be able to temporarily take control while their own character remains constant. It puts into perspective that the controlled portion is just that, only a portion of the character's life.

Plus, Damp and Smooth are only banned for zwater and Ground/Rock respectively, iirc. So you could do Damp Rock on a ground team to boost Mega Swampert.

  20. Honestly, Floatzel's Swift Swim is fine. It mostly just needs TMs to work and then a little team support to make something like a low-tier rainteam, with Ludicolo, Phione, and the like. Also Arcanine has multiple nice abilities in Flash Fire and Intimidate, so it's fine. Speed Boost would be nice for Flygon. It could work well with a Band/Specs/LO set. Aura Break would make some sense for Lucario, despite it being the signature ability of Zygarde. The problem with Zepstrika is more so the stats and strange movepool than anything else. It has two two different potential immunities from two different abilities, so that's nice. Rapidash would appreciate Reckless to boost Flare Blitz and Wild Charge in a way similar to Emboar, but faster.
  21. Moonlight is useless ingame due to the fact that we have unlimited access to healing items. Cosmic Power / Moonblast / Stored Power / Fkamethrower OR Minimize would be the best set.

  25. I don't remember agreeing that Dusty was a Ground leader... In fact, I've always held the belief that he was the Rock leader. After all, a little while back (don't know exactly when), it was said that someone in episode two would have one of the strongest mons in the game on their team (when it was fully evolved, of course). And then along come two potent, offensive Rock type mons, Andetle and Lizargem, who are both supposed to be excellent attackers. Furthermore, the badge name remains the Salt Badge, which would relate to Rocks and minerals more so than Ground and the Earth. And finally, the reveals of Pokémon have been in a similar pattern as that before Episode 1 and Mary was revealed to be the Ghost leader. Before that, Goshee and Banshy had been revealed. Now, shortly before Episode 2, two similarly interesting mons sharing a key type that is one of the main contenders for being the possible type of the leader of Episode 2 are revealed? I'm sorry, but that screams Rock Gym to me. Besides, in the main series games, Rock Gyms are a joke. They have weak, unevolved mons that are usually in the first gym the player encounters. Knowning the devs of Se7en fairly well, I would say that they would take this as a challenge to make the stagnant Rock type into a significant hurdle for the player to climb over. And finally, looking at the "list of announced things," I found not 1, not 2, but a grand total of zero announced Ground type Pokémon. I just can't see the devs having us face a gym full of Pokémon we haven't even seen pictures of before (at least not in Episode 2) when they could instead show us the adorable little creations that Zim drew up which will completely destroy us in combat and add some more fuel onto the Hype Train.
