  1. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-310178826 The moral of the story is simple: don't get greedy when there's a +6 Volcarona on the field.
  2. Well congrats on getting SMD today, lol.

  3. Finals are done and I can leave those closes in the dust for the time being. Now just to try to recall the past three years of Spanish I've had before the first week of January.

  4. Underrated: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords Reasons why it's good: -builds off of and establishes new Star Wars lore -questions the morality and values of both the Sith and the Jedi, something most Star Wars universe bits tend to gloss over and say They are Sith and feed off hatred and greed . This game instead says [/i] The Jedi literally just sat in their temples and waited while the entire Republic was nearly destroyed! They're just as cracked as the Sith! [/i] and it's quite a refreshing view on the matter. -the characters are rather diverse and different, from an Assassin Droid to the leader of the Mandolorians to an Ex-Sith Lord to a scoundrel who is certainly far more than he seems... Each character has their own quirks and interests. Reasons why it's underrated: -it's a bit of a jumbled mess because LucasArts forced forward the release date, so tons of content was scrapped, including an entire planet and many connecting bit of backstory - it's "not the same as the first one," because the first one is your typical SW story; you are a force sensitive who rescues the madien with the help of your friend the excellent pilot and a Wookie and then you fly off in your Smuggler's ship to go stop the Dark Lord who destroys a planet. In TSL, you wake up surronded by corpses and the entire game attempts to make you question your morals. If Obsidian, the company that developed it, was given more time, then this would have been able to be executed properly, but, because of the rushed development, this was scrapped and we are left with a bit of a mess.
  5. Okie doke so here I go: First off, while I do plan to play through the game three times (once for each starter, ideally using different mons each run through once we reach Episode 2), I have only completed my Lifoam run and I started my Roobber one. Firstly lemme say this: I didn't really use Ebounny or Sinisect, which you guys were indicating wouldbe good to take on Mary with. Instead, I used the lovely little Chromalyd (it wasn't quite a Monochromoth going into Mary, but boy did it earn that evolution). I gotta say: Stun Spore+Acupressure is insane. My Chromalyd may only have had Struggle Bug as an attacking move (and that's resisted by Ghosts) but damn, that thing tore through her team. Granted, it is just another bug amonst a route full of them, but Monochromoth is, imo, the best bug on that route so far I'm waiting to see how Elftik develops . I actually had to hold it back from taking down her ace so I could get some XP on my other mons. Um... other than that. I tend to walk back and forth on routes a ton just training up, so I ended up finding a decent number of Elftiks, so getting both the Pig and the Fairy wasn't too hard. I really like the Pig so far, as the traded XP bonus is certainly nice when it comes to keeping him on par with the others. Lifoam is neat so far, although it hasn't had much chance to shine since I'm mostly experimenting with the other mons at the moment. I did get it to evolve though, so I do like the direction it is taking. I feel like most of these mons a very cool and have nice movesets, but my main problem is the fact that I only have 6 party spots. The money amounts seemed fair I got a Nugget through Pickup! . So far, I have been documenting all the level-up moves, abilities, evolution levels, and even EV yields if I remember to check, to make it easier for myself later on. The only bit of data there I'm missing is a couple of EV yields and Monochromoth's evolution level since it went from 12-16 real fast. All in all, a very solid game so far. I feel Mary would have been more of a challenge if I didn't use a special attacker with the ability to boost all of its stats. (I personally feel the recommended Physical Dark types are too easily crippled by Wil o Wisp, so I didn't really want to use them much on her.) We'll see how my other runs go and I'll get back to you.
  6. Good God why is no one's team prepared for the monster that is Mega Absol?

  7. I'll be honest, I never really used the radio at all because I always liked listening to the natural atmosphere the devs had crafted, so that's just another point for the Pokénav.
  8. You're thinking of Swellow as the Guts bird. Staraptor is a stellar choice with solid bulk and attack. Two useable abilities in Reckless for Double-Edge and Brave Bird and Intimidate for longevity and hurting physical attackers. My personal favorite is Hawlucha, who can SD, consume a berry or gem, and then destroy teams with Unburden. Sash can also be utilized if you choose. But yeah, Acrobatics+Fighting move is pretty nice coverage and that natural ability to double speed and attack ain't bad either.
  9. Oops missed 1k

      RIP, I did that too.

      I almost missed 500 0_0, what should I do?

  10. Pokenav because it's extremely convient and just over all a very useful tool.
  11. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/randombattle-307719431 Yes, I did intentionally use Toxic on a Xatu so Magic Bounce would trigger and I would get poisoned so he would get poisoned. Next level plays, right here. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/hackmonscup-307815704 Am I a bad person?
  12. Okay but seriously guys, look up Delta Mismagius

Eh I like some Deltas, but I don't like Mismagius's. Nasty Plot is the best thing that ever happened to it and NP+Shadow Ball/Hex is really all you need, but Delta's can't breed, so no Nasty Plot. Sure, it's got neat offensive coverage, but with Nasty Plot it would have been better. Also I don't really like the christmas theme... Kinda takes away from the spookehness of it.

Meh, Delta's are hit or miss for me. Some like Delta Charizard are cool but others..like Delta Venusaur. Not so much.

Honestly why would you ever choose Delta Venusaur when you can just get a Gardevoir for the same role?

  13. Arthur and Citrine "Oh don't be such a baby. I just like messing with that oh so perfect hearing you have... That's a weird looking bug thing you have there. Where do you even find something like that?" Arthur was frankly a little shocked that anyone had approached him to chat. Well, that and the fact that the girl's loud voice seemed almost as it could single-handedly part the crowd was also a little disorienting. A few nearby students turned and searched for the source of the sound, although they quickly looked away so as to not seem too rude on the first day. Hasilty processing his thoughts and the events that had just transpired, Arthur replied. "Oh, her? This is Monica. She's a Larvesta. They generally live around volcanos and deserts...anywhere hot, really. They're pretty neat bugs." Stopping himself beofre he listed off all the random facts he had learned about Larvestas and Volcaronas before receiving Monica, Arthur paused. There only seemed to be on reasonable thing left to do to continue the conversation. "Anyways, I don't think I caught your name. I'm Arthur." Arthur left Monica crawl out of his impromptu cradle in his arms onto his right arm, which he extended to shake her hand. Monica seemed eager to make a new friend, too, and so she cooed gently on the Skitty hiding behind Arthur's legs.
  14. ...so delta Mismagius is a thing.

  15. I think this means Radomus is getting a nice buff to his Trick Room team! I am seriously hyped to use this item in game!
  16. Well folks, looks like I might be a lil late to the party today.

  17. Well first things first, your Houndoom has Unnerve, not Unburden. Secondly, catch a Bronzor with Heat Proof and use a Heart Scale to have it remember Rain Dance (once it evolves) or simply use the TM. This will allow you to put out the field and create a strong Rainbow effect. You might try playing around with switches too, and have something like Houndoom in before switching it out into Sesimtoad while your Porygon2 tries to paralyze things with Discharge.
  18. Report X: Aaaaaaaand we're back, folks I did promise this a little while ago, although in my defense, it's a terrible time of year which merges finals with the need to go spend time with family not that I have anything against them or anything . Furthermore, I've been holding off on this update for a fair amount of time waiting on two things, one of which was easier than the other. Firstly, I was waiting on getting the perfect Ditto. This was mainly because a- Episode 16 is going to have a crazy long development time, so I'd like to take advantage of this time by breeding out all sorts of interesting mons, b- I'm going to have to breed out certain mons like Sunkern anyway, and c- because I'm a stubborn son of a gun who decided he would soft reset until his fingers fell off if need be. Well. Maybe not quite that extreme, but you get the point. Anyway, the second reason was that I wanted to learn how to do something very useful: how to add Pokemon to your save file. I'm obviously not just going to add every Pokemon into my save file and end the completion run right now and I will hold myself to a somewhat quaint code of honor. The entire reason I learned how to do this was to be able to add in my prize for becoming the champion of the Sapphire Division: Cloyster. I had originally sent my save to Kuro a while again, but xe had to go take care of real life concerns, which I certainly cannot fault xyr for especially with my track record. So why not learn how to do it myself? And so I may have stayed up for a while and simply learned how to use some of the basics of RPG MakerXP with Pokemon Essentials. Fun! Anyways, That's all I have to say about real life progress besides the fact that I actually have a computer now, so no sense lollygagging around here. It's time for progress! The changes above will be visable when this gets all caught up, which is also when the verdicts will resume given that I am doing this entirely off of memory. When we left off last time, we had just defeated Samson and were on our way to Ameritine City... or not, seeing as there happened to be a massive glacier blocking our path. Hardy, Cain, Aya, and I instead decided to take a detour to Calcenon City, where our fiery friend Charlotte, and her equally-fiery-but-not-a-fire-pun sister, Sahpira, were defending the city from Team Meteor. And, of course, this being a video game, their fighting began to obstruct our path. However, as it turned out, this was positive, as Aya and I ended up waltzing straight into a Meteor base, which we promptly trashed. Nikola decimated foes with factory field abuse in a battle against Aster and Eclipse and Felix was able to remove Rhyperior, the main object blocking our path, and set up rain, both boosting his own speed and allowing Nikola to safely Charge Beam and then Thunder (which I kept simply because Felix had rain access). We were able to take down the dynamic duo, and Eclipse surrenders to us. She deactivates the PULSE attacking the city and quits Team Meteor, only to have Sirius walk in on her surrender and sear her soul away in front of the gaping faces of Aya, Aster, and myself. Sirius then proceeds to kidnap Aya honestly what is it with Reborn and damsels in distress? and Aster is left in a bit of a state of dismay with his partner having her soul removed from existence right in front of him, and, frankly, who can blame him? Alone and dreading to face the two men who both deeply cared for Aya who entrusted her to my care, I trudged away from the scene of the crime and resumed my climb up the mountain.
  19. I learned a thing at nearly 5 in the morning!

  20. Started writing a status, then I realized it was getting to deep and I wanted to make an actual post about.

  21. This is a sleek list and it'd certainly be useful it also reminds me that I seriously need to update my run because irl has gotten in the way a ton
  22. Three tests tomorrow and it ain't even finals just yet...

  23. If someone wants to make a Star Wars thread where you can talk in spoilers, feel free. I'd do it myself, but I haven't seen it yet and I don't want to get notifcations about people talking in spoilers.

  24. Arthur, Contest Hall Slowly opening one eye as the last remaining sounds faded away, Arthur looked around slowly by flicking his eyes back and forth without moving his head. It would seem that his slight ruse had worked and everyone had simply assumed he had falled asleep. In reality, it was justa bit of well-practiced acting. Well. Mostly. Arthur would be lying to himself if he believed that he didn't get any rest in at all. Rising from his seat and stretching, Arthur let out a long, deep yawn that echoed throughout the chambers of the Contest Hall. Normally, Arthur didn't do these sorts of things, but he figured it wouldn't hurt to try to get a slight peek as to what the stage would feel like. Carefully considering, Arthur decided to let Monica out of her Pokéball for some company. She yawned and let out a little joyful sound. She'd been resting inside of there ever since the ordeal at the dorms, so she was once again ergetic and curious. "Now, Monica, try not to burn down the Contest Hall on day one, OK?" Monica then grumpily huffed out a small ember, which luckily dissipated without touching anything. Arthur shook his head. "Ya know, you're not doing much to inspire confidence." He waved it off and strolled down the aisles of chairs towards the front stage. It was a bit above the floor where he was, but it would be no problem for someone of his athletic background. It was mystifying to him that even on the first day he was doing something that weeks before he had never even considered as a viable option for his path in life. The entire concept of contests and competing not for strength, but aesthetic appeal was also mystifying. In nearly every tale of legendary trainers, from Red to Diantha to even Ymora Academy's own Devin Cadmus, the legend was that of strength. The infinitely strong trainer rose to the occasions of the day and rose to become one of the strongest trainers alive. Seldom did the Contest Stars reach such infamy. Maybe someday... Arthur thought to himself as he picked up Monica and boosted her up onto the stage. He hoisted himself up after seeing that she was securely on the ledge. Arthur let out a sigh as he laid back on the stage. It was cold and barren currently, but he figured it could be adapted to fit any number of purposes. "Hell of a day," Arthur stated, his eyes fixed on the ceiling and lost in thought. Monica cooed lightly and wriggled on top of his stomach, trying to get Arthur's attention. "What? Is there something I can help you with?" Monica huffed out a small shot of fire again, this time catching the stage glancingly and catching the flooring on fire ever so slightly. Arthur's mind became clustered as panic spread. Thinking quickly, he shouted, "Monica, quickly, use String Shot to smother the flames!" And just like that, the crisis of nearly burning the Contest Hall down on the first day was averted. Arthur's racing heart apparently didn't get the memo, though. The Professor is right... as amazing as these creatures are, they're hella dangerous. I probably shouldn't tempt fate anymore than I already have today. Making a mental note to remember that Monica had a built-in fire extinguisher, he hopped off the stage and motioned for Monica to follow. Ever the drama queen, she got a running start and leapt into his arms. "Come on, Monica. I think it's about time we go track down our new roommate." And with that, they swiftly ran out of the Contest Hall and slowed down as they left the building, so as to not raise suspicion. Nothing to see here... Arthur thought to himself, praying to Arceus that no one would be outside and thus he wouldn't have to explain why he was in there so long after the orientation. Mercifully, it seemed he was the only one in particular area. There were a few scattered groups of students who were chatting a distance aways, but no one seemed to pay him any mind. Having no leads as to where his roommate, or any other first year students he could introduce himself to, were, he decided to hedge his bets and set off to the Boys' Dormitory. Besides being attacked by a demon, what was the worst that could happen?
