  1. Nope, Aqua is better since you can soft reset on Houndour after taking out the Magma Gang but you have to fish for Carvanha. Also you can only get Carvanha with the Good Rod, which requires that you be up to Spinel Town at the very least, whereas Houndour can be obtained right after the second mission with the Aqua Gang. This Houndour will also have Egg moves such as Nasty Plot, Sucker Punch, and Thunder Fang, where as fished Carvanha will not have any egg moves because they're just fished up rather than event Pokemon. The irrc, the event Carvanha can also have egg moves. Thus, Aqua is better because it allows for two superior Pokemon than you would obtain with the Magma Gang.
  2. Kuro, we may not have been super close by any meaning of the word, but I'd be lying to all of Reborn and myself if I said you hadn't impacted me for the better. I hope that your condition improves swiftly and that you can return to us with due haste. Godspeed to you and thank you for everything you have done.
  3. I wonder if I could quantify my growths as a person since joining this site. Probably not, tbh.

  4. Arthur, James, ??? the 2nd Year Student (Boys Dorm, Room 025) Despite being in his own room, Arthur couldn't have felt more out of place unless everyone around him also happened to have double X chromosomes. All he wanted to do was make up for his previous screw-ups in getting to know his class mates and suddenly there was a demon or something taking over the boys' dorm building. For the love of all things good and holy, Arthur simply could not understand why the universe decided to dump the sewage pipe right on top of him. He knew branching out from the path of the athlete would be hard, but for Pete's sake, this was only the first day. He let out a soft, almost inaudible sigh as he pondered as to just why Arceus hated him so much. He still never caught the name of the older student who dragged him back down the hall and into here, although with the looks of fright shared on all of their faces, Arthur figured that he wasn't quite in the introductory mood. And so, despite having a third chance to attempt to get to know his fellows, Arthur simply stayed silent. If the last two attempts were any indication, then it would almost certainly before the best as otherwise Monica might run off to go see what was happening. Although to be entirely honest, Monica also had fear and confusion spelled across her brow, as while Arthur's reassurances worked for a short time, they began to quickly wear off when they began to cower behind a couch. Arthur decided that he would have to be strong for both of them. He put his game face on, picked up Monica in his arms and cradled her in his arms like a child, despite her size. She instantly figuratively warmed up and her nervous glow (which had been going on ever since Arthur asked her to create an Ember) began to subside as she began to feel safer. Finally, the other new kid that the older student dragged in here broke the pseudo-silence that existed as they had remained silent while the chaos rose outside of their little island of security. Who's this Kody you're talking about? Truth be told, Arthur had been wondering the same exact thing. He would have asked himself, but he had a bug to comfort and all his attempts at communication had ended in disaster so far so he'd decided to leave the talking to the others. Still, he turned his head expectantly towards the older boy whose face made no attempt to hide the fear he felt.
  5. Arthur looked around as he head more, although somewhat distant, sounds join the cacophony around him. The lights were going abolsutely insane and it was hard to truly make out anything. He looked down at his fet where he made out the faint outline of Monica, who seemed just as concerned and freaked out as he was- or perhaps even more so, if that was even possible. He knelt down once more and stroked her head reassuringly, giving confidence he didn't have himself. "Hey, girl. It'll be fine. I'm sure it's just a Misdrevus or something that someone lost control of. But if you want to help, you could give us an Ember or two to give us a little light, okay?" Arthur was sincerly hoping this would work, as otherwise, he would be left in the dark both literally and figuratively. Monica began to produce a small cone of fire emanating from her top horn which illuminated the surrounding area. Arthur thought he could hear voices somewhere, so he picked my Monica, put her on his back, and began to crawl down the hallway towards the voices to avoid falling over due to the flashing and disorienting lights. "Here we go again...."
  6. Ah, okay. I was a little confused at the time of my last post so thanks for sorting that out.
  7. Arthur woke up from where he apparently dozed off to the sounds of chaos. He heard some students around his talking in hushed voices, although he couldn't make out the words. They were certainly being louder than they had intended, however. Arthur decided that either they knew something he didn't, likely an "initiation" prank or something of the sort they would play on all the new students, or they saw something they shouldn't and were talking about it. Despite how he felt he should probably go investigate it, he figured that if it was important, he would find out soon enough. And if it was a prank, then he would use it as an opporunity for bonding with the other new guys. Unfortunately, he did find out soon enough. He had been leaning on the door to 025 when he dozed off and he hadn't moved so he went to shift his legs only to find himself falling backwards as the door gave way behind him despite no one making any motions to unlock it. Then, the door flung back into closed position, lurching him forward once more. This time he landed straight on his head as his arms attempted to break his fall, only to have him do a roll into the other side of the narrow hallway. For almost certainly not the first, and equally certainly not the last, time in his life, Arthur silently thanked his athletic childhood. He rose to his feet, still disoriented and off balanced. The lights were flickering furiously as a sinister laugh began to echo through the now cut off hallway. Only the way into the dorms remained clear of chaos, but, call it "intuition," but Arthur had a keen gut feeling that if he made a move towards them that they too would close. And so, low on light, options, and understanding, Arthur took off his backpack which he had forgotten to take off in his room. He placed it on the ground and knelt to open it...only to find the zipper jammed in an unnatural angle. "Typical," he said to himself. "Absolutely typical. This is easily the most Arceus forsaken day of my life." He could hear the roar of machines echoing through the buidling and the laugh mixed in amonst the sounds of metal. And to Arthur's tired mind, it almost sounded like they were hungry.
  8. Quick question: how did all the doors in the boys' dorm bulding slam shut and not budge and then the veteran students rushed into the closest room they could find?

Basically, you use the emotions that you are feeling to produce something that is far more realistic or emotional in your writing/painting/insert art form here than you would otherwise be able to produce as you don't need to imagine what the subject is feeling since you already know without a shadow of a doubt what the subject is feeling because you are feeling it as you write it.

  11. As Arthur blundered into Room 25, his new "home," he felt like collapsing. From all angles, the day had been a disaster. He was left alone in a forgein environment with only a bug with a penchant for running off as a companion. He had made two failed attempts to introduce himself to his new classmates. And then he had gone off and gotten himself lost in the crowds of people, completely alone. Well, not completely alone, but again, his only friend was Monica, who decided that she wanted to see everything and meet everyone, all while Arthur had to carry her to keep her from being stepped on and accidentally roasting someone. He felt terrible about his attempts at introducing himself only to have him be cut off. He felt certain that the people he had attempted to introduce himself to would only remember him as "that akward boy with a boy that kept running away." And he was also certain that he would meet them again, only to have his failures shoved right back into his face. Arthur let out a sigh as the door groaned shut behind him. He took a moment to absorb his surroundings and to try to get his mind off of how terrible his day had been so far. It was a fairly nice room, considering that it was a standard issue dorm in every respect. There was a simple living room space and a small kitchen area attached. On left and right sides of this space, there were two bedrooms. They both seemed to be the same, so Arthur simply decdied to take the one on the right simply because he was there first and he'd be damned if he didn't need to spend a moment to recollect his thoughts and emotions. He went into the room and sat down on the bed he found in there. "Why is everything always go wrong?" Arthur muttered under his breath. Due to his upbringing as the son of athletes, he had been always told to work out whenever he had something on his mind so he could symbolically work through it and clear his mind. Now, though, Arthur felt like his arms were about to fall off since he'd been holding Monica for a considerable time now. Monica came up to the brooding boy and nudged him with her top horn. "What's up?" Arthur asked her, only to follow her eyes to where they were pointing. Straight to the door out of Room 025. "You are one crazy bug, you know that?" His body aching in protest, Arthur rose from the bed with Monica alongside him and began to walk towards the door. In the end, he knew he had to get back out there and meet at least some of his new classmates. He knew he had to at least try to make a decent impression with some of them. And so, accepting the fact that he would have to rest later, Arthur opened the door to the hallway and decided to wait there for any other classmates who decided to go to their rooms. Maybe he'd be able to at least talk to some of them and introduce himself before they went into their own rooms. He briefly entertained the thought of maybe going back to where the registration crowds were, but then shot his own idea when he remembered that he probably couldn't handle the company of girls in his current emotional state. "And now my watch begins..."
  12. Yeah, that was entirely my fault. I was kinda freaking out a bit cause I felt like I was floundering and I wanted to progress but I was impatient and tbh it was extremely sloppy and clunky writing. I'll abide by whatever it is you want to do with the "situation" that I have created since it is kinda mess and I don't want to cause anything you wouldn't want.
  13. Depending on your mystery egg, you'll be able to get Togepi, Cottonee, Azuril, or Shroomish for your run. If you egg is none of these, then you can always revert to episode 14 to get be assured of an Azuril.
  14. All I ask is that people stop bringing stall teams against me. Is that so much to ask?

  15. Following a brief meeting with the Gastly boy before he ran off to get his room assignment, Arthur just kinda stood around awkwardly for a moment. He could hardly go back the group where he previously had been due to the circumstances of his leaving and the Gastly boy had simply had to go without giving too much thought about the matter. In plain, Arthur was in a pickle. There was little left to do except perhaps attempt to track down his room to be able to regroup his thoughts. All that he accomplished, however, was promptly getting lost in the crowd. "Gosh dang it," Arthur politely cursed to himself. "Out of all things to have, why do I have to have an absolutely trashy sense of direction?" Determined to work his way through it, Arthur continued walking, attempting to navigate his way through the clumps of people gathering. Monica's desire to see everyone and everything that was happening certainly wasn't helping the matter.
  16. At Hakuna's request, I added a little bit on the end of mine to involve someone else.
  17. Time for a certain bug to wriggle out of Arthur's arms
  18. Right, well, so many posts just happened while I was writing my latest one so I am just confused at this point as to what is happening. Welp.
  19. Having finally worked his way through the line, Arthur gave a deep sigh of relief. At least that was one thing taken care of. Monica had sat on his arm the entire time and stared at the crowds around them, where people and Pokemon alike were making new aquaintences. And after the entire time in line, Arthur finally conceited defeat and put Monica on the ground to give his arms a well earned rest. Dangerous as it may be to put her down onto the ground where she could be stepped on, she was still almost three feet in height, so someone would have an easier time stepping on a small child. And even if someone did accidentally step on her, her firey horns on the top of her head would quickly discourage the thought of walking. Still, Arthur decided to keep a careful eye on her. As it turned out, this was for the best as when the Fire Bug noticed a large commotion going on with several girls, a Cottonee, and a Pancham. Where other bugs had a desire to reach light or fire, she had an affinity for drama. Monica was fulled rested as she had been sitting on Arthur's arm the entire time, so she began making a surprisingly fast beeline for the group. It was all he could do to catch up with her and keep different students and staff members from stepping on her as she left a path of chaos in her wake. "Well I guess this is how I'll be meeting my classmates for this year..." Arthur muttered to himself when Monica had finally reached the scene. He slowed down his pace and walked up to the gathered group. "Hey there. Sorry, this one is mine," he said, scooping up a rather energetic Monica into a cradle between both of his arms to keep her from running off agaiin. "I'm Arthur. I'd shake your hands, but then this little 'bundle of energy' here would probably go bug someone else. And you are...?" Before any in the growing scene could quite realize what just happened, Monica saw something else the interested her and decided to hop out of Arthur's arms and instead pursue a Gastly she saw floating around its trainer. Arthur, still a little winded from all the unexpected exercise and excitement, quickly chased after her and picked her up once again, this time in front of the boy, if Arthur could call him that when he was considerably taller than Arthur, and his Gastly. "Right, take two. Hey there, I'm Arthur. Sorry about this little 'bundle of energy' here. I'd shake your hand, but then she'd run off to bug someone else again. And you are?"

  23. This is the first RP I've done in a long, long while, so I am looking for all sorts of criticisms on my writing, positive and otherwise. So if you guys have anything you have/want to say about my character or how I write or anything like that, feel free to say it. I'm looking to grow as a person and a writer here so I don't want to overlook my flaws and just say, "oh no, it's not this because this reason." If you say something about how I do things, I will do my best to rectify it. Thanks.
  24. Following the opening of the gates, Arthur quietly shuffled into the grounds of his new "home away from home." There wasn't much he could do or say to make himself feel any less awkward about having two living examples of perfect human bodies for parents following him around or the fact that he had a massive, flaming bug named Monica clinging to his arm, forcing him to always raise his left arm like a falconer. It also didn't help that he was leaving the relative security of his childhood spent training to become an athlete to pursue an entirely different course that his family admitted that they knew nothing about, or that Monica simply blew a light amount of fire on him every time that he attempted to put her in her Pokeball without ample coaxing and promises of rewards if she did so. The latter resulted in Arthur's apparent lack of eyebrows. On the upside, the first issue was about to be solved, as his parents were about to leave as they had a flight to catch to get back home. On the downside, his parents were about to leave him all alone in a foreign environment. Arthur hugged his parents tightly, careful not to squish Monica on his arm, before letting go and watching them go away. "Why do I always make things hard on myself...?" Arthur muttered to himself after his parents left his sight as even they were lost in the crowds of students, family members, and staff. Finally deciding that there was no use putting it off any longer, Arthur finally decided to get into the registration line, which was apparently already all the way up to where he was standing. He turned to Monica and sighed, as even his naturally athletic body was beginning to tire from holding a sixty pound bug on it for a long while. "Alrighty. Now, I know you won't like this, but you should probably get off my arm and get into your Pokeball. There's lot of stuff coming up ahead of us and I want you rested for when the real excitement comes, okay?" Arthur did his best to convince her without letting the nervousness he was feeling creep into his voice, although he was convinced he still heard it. It seemed Monica heard it as well, since instead of leaving him well and truly alone to go to the comfort of her own "home away from home," she simply wriggled over to his right arm instead. "What a pal," Arthur said to himself with a slight smile. "What a pal."
