  1. Ferns level 11 Lotad just took out Aster and Eclipse. Wat.

  2. I originally found Reborn through Shofu and because I was bored and looking for an interesting Rom Hack/Fan Version to play. I got a little more than I bargained for. Anyway,I joined the forums after the release of Episode 13, but I'd been lurking on the forums and playing Reborn since 12. I'll point out that Nickaboo, ya know, the guy who used to have the go-to-guides on Reborn but then left to go to Mexico, started his Reborn journey in Episode 7, but he's been gone for a good long while now.
  3. I've been playing Normal Mono for a while and in my experience, Porygon2 is far superior to Chansey. In fact, I'd say Porygon2 is one of the best walls available, period. The set I use is the following: The Best (Porygon2) @ Eviolite Ability: Trace EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD Calm Nature - Ice Beam - Recover - Thunder Wave - Tri Attack This spread allows Porygon2 to completely wall out most opponents. T-Wave the first turn he's in to half the speed of your foe, then, if they believe they are strong enough, they'll try to break through the paralysis and your Porygon. But you only need to use Recover until eventually they are fully paralyzed for a turn, then you start firing off STAB Tri Attacks. These will do more than you expect. Ice Beam is present for three of the most common monos atm: Dragon, Flying, and Ground. This will prevent a lot of teams from doing damage against you. Also Trace is used over Download because your opponent will use the best abilities they possibly can. You might as well steal them over getting a Stat boost which may help you or it may be useless. I was playing the other day against a Fire mono and I traced his Heatran's Flash Fire and I won because all his STAB moves simply got absorbed while I Para-ed and Tri Attacked him. i'm going to be straight up with you: I don't like your Meloetta set that much. The thing with Meloetta is it has some bulk, but it is still rather easily taken down. Calm Mind won't help much with that. Meloetta benefits more from an immediate power boost and the ability to utilize its quite strong Special Attack stat while still taking care of the one weakness Normal has (that being Fighting). I prefer to run Meloetta @ Life Orb Ability: Serene Grace Shiny: Yes EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD Modest Nature - Dazzling Gleam - Psychic - Hidden Power [Rock] - Hyper Voice with Dazzling Gleam to deal with certain Fighting types like Scrafty and other Dark types that want to kill Meloetta, Psychic for STAB and coving Fighting, HP Rock to help with another two common monos in Bug and Fire and Hyper Voice for a strong STAB move which can bypass Substitutes. Life Orb allows for more immediate power to secure more kills before switching out. Fairly straight forward. I also haven't really seen a need for the removal of hazards that much in Mono Type as it is a very fast paced and offensive metagame, especially on a Normal team. if this were Bug or Fire, that'd be another story. But Normal doesn't really require getting rid of SR or Spikes much since not to many will use them against you. As such, I'd recommend a slight alteration to your Smeargle set- Smeargle @ Focus Sash Ability: Own Tempo EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Spore / Dark Void - Stealth Rock - Sticky Web - Topsy-Turvy It's pretty straight forward. Spore for reliable sleep, Dark Void if you expect a grass team. SR to break Sash, Sturdy, and Multiscale. Sticky Web to slow your foes down. And then the kicker- Topsy-Turvy. TT is all by forgotten in battles because only two pokemon can learn it normally (Inkay and Malamar) and Smeargle can steal it from them with Sketch. What it does in inverse all the stat changes the target has. If your sash is intact, you can simply bring it in on a Volcarona who just set up six Quiver Dances and suddenly it is a Volcarona at -6 Special Stats and Speed. It's quite handy and unexpected. Since if you follow my changes, you'll be ditching Hazard control, you'll want to change up Staraptor. A defensive set with Talonflame (Staraptor) @ Leftovers Ability: Intimidate EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def Impish Nature - Brave Bird - Close Combat - Roost - Tailwind / U-Turn / Defog would likely work best to wall and intimidate the things which other members of your team could not. Brave Bird and Close Combat are there for Fighting and Steel/Rock respectively. Roost to handle SR damages. Tailwind is my move of choice to allow another member to shine when Staraptor is doomed, but U-Turn for momentum and Defog for Hazard Support (if you really want it) also work. Good luck and I hope your team works out!
  4. Oh my oh my. I spy a rather insane Electric weakness here. You've got two mons weak to it and nothing to even resist. As it stands, your team is in serious trouble if it meets a Mega Amphy, Jolteon, or Heliolisk, all of which are quite common. As Tomas said spelled it right this time, swap out Aero for Mega Amphy. That'll take away some of the Electric weakness and actually give you a nice x4 resist while still boasting a rather ludicrous Special Attack at base 165. My personal favorite set to run is Ampharos @ Ampharosite Ability: Static EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Modest Nature - Agility - Thunderbolt - Dragon Pulse - Focus Blast/ Volt Switch as it allows you to boost up on a switch, then quickly slay half your opponent's team. You can run Volt Switch instead of Focus Miss Blast if you want to have a bit more reliability or if you just wanna get the heck out and dodge. For Mienshao, I'd recommend something like Mienshao @ Life Orb Ability: Regenerator EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly Nature - High Jump Kick - Knock Off - U-turn - Poison Jab/ Fake Out as this would allow you to have your solid STAB move in HJK, Knock Off because honestly, there is no reason not to have it since it deals with Ghosts and Psychics, both of which are a problem for HJK spammers. U-Turn to get you out of a tight spot fact and quickly grab a Regenerator boost while doing some solid damage and/or breaking Focus Sashes/Sturdies. Poison Jab is obviously for Fairies, particuarly Whimsicott, which would practically be murdered on the switch in by it. Fake Out just because Fake Out is good, I guess. Not really my personal choice on moves except on Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, where it is quite useful, but to each his/her/xyr own. You don't have any Pokemon to set up and remove hazards, which is rather alarming when Fortress exists and it's present on about 97% of the teams in UU because people can't figure out any other lead to use, even with a Trick Chandelure. I would know because I really love Trick Chandelure. More to the point, I'd switch out your Bug for another personal choice of mine: Donphan. Donphan has the physical bulk to take a lot of hits well and Sturdy which lets it be a good lead. It would give your team a nice Electric immunity as well. Just use a physically defensive set with EQ for STAB, Stealth Rocks to wear down your foes, Rapid Spin to clear hazards which wear down Milotic and quickly kill your Chandelure. I'd also suggest changing Milotic to be a bit more Specially Defensive to check CroCune a bit more, as that is always a threat. If you have Donphan, make Donphan your Physical wall and fully invest Milotic in Special Defensive. Scald is there for burning Physical Attackers anyway, so no need to be redundant with your spread. Your team looks nice and interesting otherwise and definitely change that Choice Band out for an AV to catch your opponents unawares.
  5. ...uhhhhh, I don't know what to tell you, but it's entirely possible to have egg moves on Houndour. Nasty Plot and Thunder Fang are two I encountered before settling on Nasty Plot. I sided with Aqua and obtained it later, so perhaps that had something to do with it?
  6. I may have accidentally sorta kinda a little ruined my sleep schedule.

      Vinny

What is this sleep schedule you're talking about? Can I eat it?

  7. You could probably solo Reborn with a team of Shuckles if you hacked one in with something like Recover or Roost. Then you could give your Shuckles a moveset of Recover/Infestation/Toxic/Protect to destroy literally everything.
  8. Iron Fist Infernape would be great at coving your weaknesses. Blaziken is just too easy and the rest of your yeam won't be able to shine, which is a real shame considering modt fighting types are pretty great in their own ways.
  9. Or you could just look at the obvious example in the Purple Princess himself: Cain.
  10. Even if it technically wasn't, since he's abuse older episodes, he could do the old reversion trick yo access the floor where the special Evolution items are.
  11. I'd love to draw attention to the most obvious Absol in the game: in the introduction when ingame Ame is asking you some personal questions and introducing the PC to Pokemon. Ame sends out an Absol. And what happens within minutes of that event? The explosion at the train station. It's my personal theory that the Absol on the train is the same one we continually encounter as it is then tied to the catalyst of tragedy- the player him/her/xyrself.
  12. Rhyhorn would be decent as well. Solid Rock can easily help with commong weaknesses like Water, Ice, ect (of course my boy Camerupt also gets Solid Rock, but Rhyperior is a Physical attack instead of special).
  13. In that second match, the change from trying to flirt (idk why but he apparently thought that was a good plan) to raging at you was golden. Also that was great reference.
  14. Looking at the fanart thread like: "Well, I can draw half a tree pretty well."

  15. Slight correction made to that. I'll probably write a few analyses on a couple of mons I feel people left out soon enough.
  16. Hey, at least Chubb and I answered them.
  17. I can confirm Linoone is on Route 1 as a wild encounter.
  18. Pokemon with Sap Sipper really get the drop on this team. The two I think of off the top of my head are a certain bull because I'm lazy and suck at spelling buffalo and Gogoat.
  19. I'll point out that Gallade is currently on Radomus's team. Indeed, he leads Gallade/Reuni so probably have Radomus lead Reun, tank a hit, set up trick room, and then procced to wreck havoc?
  20. I fought a person with an Attract Cloyster MonoIce Team. It wasn't very good. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-241768635 Trace Porygon2 never gets old. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-241769975 Despite their popularity, Bug Monos are not always that good. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-241772416 Sometimes the RNG gods chose not to favor you and you've got to roll with it. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-241774899 More Monotype battles to follow!
  21. Sorry, spelling has always been my worst suit in language. But I think it breaks even with the link to your game.
  22. Uh I played at release of 14 and you should still be able to go back and change your team. Otherwise it'd be very possible to get stuck permanently.
  23. Whatever you do, do not allow a CroCune to set up on you. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/uu-241507532 Also, I really love Porygon2 http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-241534823 http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/monotype-241533740
