  1. Wood!? But why would he have a wooden head? Richard started to stride toward Solace until he turned to see the crowd that the young man motioned towards. Another crime? This little rat... "I have had just about enough of your shenanigans! You will open that mouth of yours and speak nothing but the truth to me," Ordered Richard as he got within arm's reach of Solace. "My colleagues and those clinic workers are not here to save you this time, cowardly worm! I would hear the truth from you! Now!"
  2. Gah, that's entirely true! I must rectify this immediately! Sorry if it slows down the RP, haha. EDIT: Curses! My father needs me for about 4 hours... I sincerely apologize for doing this now when things are getting so involved.
  3. Richard snapped his saluting hand back into the attention position, about faced, and proceeded to march out of the School with every attempt to salvage his dignity. As he walked by, he realized that what had transpired her took place in front of many people; a fact which caused the cold sweat to set in again. How can I protect the people who need it if I cannot even please a superior? My carelessness will only make the people of Trevalus lose what little faith in a Gifted like me they could possibly have. Fool! Damn myself and damn my curse! After fully leaving the building, Richard took a long look back at the School. Are you pleased with yourselves? You have the pure people of Trevalus in the palms of your hands. Savor your reign while it lasts, dogs. I will stop you... Richard gritted his teeth as he marched back towards his home. I will put an end to your ambitions, even if I must do so alone! I cannot falter! However, Richard's chance to lick his wounds was cut short by the sight of a familiar face with... A head!? "You!," Richard shouted at the sheepish, young man with the hazel eyes. "What are you doing with that head!? Explain yourself, cretin!"
  4. I know this must be repetitive on my part, but I can't seem to get our of this Sakimoto mood, haha.
  5. Haha, that's excellent Commander218! I can't wait for Richard to make even more friends with his approachable attitude and benevolent personality.
  6. Ahh, welcome to Reborn Desumasku! Well it's true that the people that Hilda listed can help you a lot more than me, I'm almost always available as both a friendly face and a good listener. I sincerely hope you enjoy your time here, haha.
  7. Richard swallowed once more as he stared at the bloodstain on the stone. What have I done? My beliefs have never been... I cannot be wrong and yet it is so. Is it my sin that weighs me down or is it truly the laxness of my superiors? How can I doubt them, and yet know they speak truth? I have not been so perplexed since... Richard tried his hardest not to break his composure but the cold was back as he ever so slightly shivered. How can I show them that our power corrupts? Even when we use the Gift for a so called good... There is always an ulterior motive, right? And this wound of the soul... Is this my pride that burns so? Impossible. I cannot have any pride if I am to serve Trevalus; if I am to overcome my cursed heritage. And yet... It was then that Richard realized his inner turmoil was only serving to waste the time of Lieutenant Timms: the man who had once again reminded Richard of his place. Taking a deep breath, Richard managed to stand once more, and despite his aches and pains, assume near perfect posture and form a salute. Gathering the courage to stare Lieutenant Timms in the eyes once more, Richard declared, "Patrol Officer Richard Gallus, requesting permission to leave, sir!"
  8. Ahh, I love those plushies! My favorites are the White Blood Cell and Syphillis! Hmm, I for one am incredibly fascinated by termite mounds. Something about how those little creatures build monuments beyond their scope of understanding is interesting, haha.
  9. Wow, I wasn't aware that you introduced us to something like this, Hukuna. I'm incredibly grateful that you took the time to make something like this, truly I am. On behalf of all those who would watch these videos for your knowledge and wisdom, I thank you. I apologize if that got really sappy, but that's just how I feel about things like this, haha! Oh, and the videos work fine Notus!
  10. Everything went dark for a brief moment as Richard slipped in and out of consciousness. It was then that he truly felt the blood leaking from his nose as it slightly pooled along his face. I cannot... Richard slowly shuffled his left arm over to his right to help stabilize his rise. Instead of getting on his feet once more, he started to shuffle into a position akin to "taking a knee" though with the occasional difficulty of his right arm almost giving out multiple times. After assuming this position, he simply stared at the small smear of blood upon the stone floor. I have... Richard immediately stiffened his frame as his head continued to droop in abject shame. "F-faltered... ," Sputtered out Richard as he caught a cough in his throat. "I understand, Lieutenant... Timms. I have... shamed The Scales with... With my insubordination." Richard caught another cough as he tasted the metallic liquid of his life's blood in his mouth. He eventually swallowed so he could continue his apology, feeling what might've been part of a tooth slide down his esophagus. "I... I beg your forgiveness for my... Weakness in your presence, sir. I will... Make myself scarce shortly. First I need... I need something to clean this mess... From the School floor," Hacked out Richard in between attempted swallowing of blood. "I already stain... These grounds with my shame... Let me not stain it with... My ichor as well."
  11. I believe it could be easily considered an emotion by a great number of people, haha! *Must resist urge to interject, in a well intentioned way, about how to center and/or focus your emotions while sounding like a busybody*
  12. Indeed! While Jericho has already directed you towards those who could most help you, I am almost always available as both a friendly face an a good listener. Feel free to socialize with all of the wonderful people here, haha.
  13. Perfect! I'm sure everyone still in the building is getting quite a show, haha. (Like watching a muted action movie, haha) Hmm, Timms appears to be there so as to ensure that only no nonsense and obedient people are selected for The Scales. As for Nigel, I suspect it's possibly to ensure that charismatic people are selected for The Shields. Honestly, I'm most likely quite wrong about Timms, and especially wrong about Nigel, haha.
  14. Richard laid there for a moment, unable to fully comprehend what had just occurred. What... I was certain my fears were not unfounded... I am... I cannot falter! Not yet! After regaining his vision once more, Richard used all the force he could muster to stand once more in attention, staggering a decent bit on his way up, and lock eyes once more with Lieutenant Timms. His nose must have been bleeding, however he didn't have time to address it as he was still in the presence of a commanding officer that he had just offended. "I apologize for being out of line, Lieutenant Timms! I forgot my place as not only a mere Patrol Officer, but also as a putrid Gifted addressing a pure human!," Stated Richard in an attempt to rectify his poorly chosen words earlier. Richard's thoughts were trying to work on overtime to muster up a plan of action; a possible way for him to gain the piece of mind he desperately needs. Think, you mewling worm! There must be a way to combat the coming Gifted threat. A way that perhaps Lieutenant Timms may accept. Something he could do... Something... During this brief pause, Richard's eyes eventually, almost visibly, flashed with inspiration. "Sir! With every fiber of my being, I know for certain what my damned kin are capable of. If left unchecked, they will viciously defile everything Trevalus stands for! While I may be a lowly dog like them, in spite of that, no, because of that, I am your most efficient tool to be used against them. Which is why I must ask, nay, I must beg for you to consider this proposal of mine!" Richard pleaded with as much conviction as he could muster. "As a Gifted hound of The Living Quarter Police Department, and as someone who specializes in neutralizing Gifted who believe themselves outside of the laws that The Scales enforce, I formally request permission to train and domesticate the recruited Gifted into beasts robbed of their ambitions! I would see to it that they are monsters that would respect the pure human authority of command!" Richard stood firm and awaited the response of Lieutenant Timms. My arrogance! My pride! No matter how much I attempt to eliminate them, my very nature as a bastard Gifted prevents me from growing above them! I cannot falter! I CANNOT FALTER!
  15. Haha, I don't think most people should like Richard! He's kind of a hypocritical prick.
  16. Detached, I would say. In essence, I always look at things in the big picture with little to no consideration for how I would personally feel. The big picture is usually all that matters to me, and my idealistic pragmatism honestly comes off as arrogant, haha. (Y'know, I don't think self-deprecation is an emotion, but if so, it might be another accurate one, haha)
  17. Gah, how could I forget! How absolutely careless of me! I apologize to both Stratos and Hukuna for not giving them the proper respect in this area of expertise.
  18. That was certainly unexpected, haha! I was thinking "Dang, if only Richard could be there to do his job" until that happened, haha.
  19. Upon being acknowledged by Lieutenant Timms, Richard snapped from his strong salute to attention as he took a short breath as he locked eyes with his superior. "Thank you Lieutenant. I understand that you have a long day ahead of you and prefer to keep things brief, so I will establish my grievances in both a curt and proper manner, sir. If I understand what has just transpired correctly, it means that abomi- ... Gifted are now allowed to have direct influence over the political parties of Trevalus. What most concerns me is backlash of this decision and the possible rise in crime, or worse yet, treason that will follow this day. Specifically, I fear nigh guaranteed growth in power of The Shields," Richard prattled on as his gaze and posture never once budge in the slightest. "With an influx of Gifted surging into the political party which has the most reputation of accepting them. In turn, it will mean that these mons- ... Gifted will be brought under one banner. Being one of the beasts myself, I understand what kind of power and arrogance they are capable of. I foresee the worst case scenario being a Gifted militia forming in an attempt to lead with their cursed power after they grow agitated by the 'free discrimination' compromise. Of course, I am not here expecting you to be able to stop this reformation, but I believe that as an officer charged with protecting the peace of Trevalus, this warning I bear must be headed... With all due respect, sir." Richard kept his solid steel composure on the outside while facing Lieutenant Timms, but on the inside he was experiencing a turmoil of emotions. With all due respect!? What kind of dog deigns to demand anything from it's master? He must listen, yet he has no reason to. There must be something I can do, some way to establish a proper fail safe and yet not give in to my arrogant nature as a Gifted... I cannot falter!
  20. That's wonderful that you're taking part in your first Forum Roleplay! I for one, am glad that you're taking their criticism well. Always remember that any criticisms of your intellectual properties are not personal attacks! All of our efforts are to help out in polishing a precious stone, haha. That being said, feel free to ask me, Commander, A Happy Elf, Murdoc, etc. about whatever roleplay advice you could possibly desire.
  21. I can already see Lucille's story arc getting messed with in the best (worst) ways possible, haha.
  22. Of course, I figure you'd want to save them for the dramatic reveals when their times come, haha.
  23. Exactly what I was thinking, haha! Then if it's okay with A Happy Elf, I would find it entertaining to consider that a fact that they have indeed encountered one another. The details of said encounter, well, that could be something to hash out if we really feel like it, haha.
  24. Ahh, I've read your sign-up Murdoc, and you mentioned something in there that caught my attention. If "Solace" has had harassment from the police before and doesn't necessarily hide his Gift, I wonder if he's ever had the displeasure of meeting Richard, haha.
  25. While the line moved forward, Richard scouted the are once more in an attempt to discover anything of note, though he came up empty handed. However, as he shifted his gaze about, he found himself having eye contact with a pair of green eyes belonging to a raven-haired, young man. As the man left, Richard barely caught a glimpse of the paper he was holding. I see... So that young man has been given an invitation. They seemed determined enough and strong at that. No doubt they will serve The Scales well. Richard mused to himself more about the hopeful increase of numbers for The Scales, supposing that they'll need all the help they can get when The Shields eventually make their move... This was cut short when Lieutenant Timms called for the next person in line, who just so happened to be Richard himself. Lieutenant Timms needs to understand how imperative this is. He simply has to. I cannot falter. Richard tensed his frame and, yet once more, perfected his posture as he marched up to Lieutenant Timms. Upon reaching the proper spot, Richard immediately snapped his heels together as his right hand came to hip level and his fist closed as far as it could. His left arm flew upward as his hand flattened, straightening his elbow at a forty-five degree angle while placing the side of his flat hand about half an inch away from his eyebrow. With this, Richard had come to the most proper salute he could muster as he faced Lieutenant Timms with determination and obedience. "Officer Richard Gallus requesting permission to speak freely in your presence, sir!", barked Richard as he awaited Lieutenant Timms' response.
