So yeah, phazing moves, Taunt and Unaware Clefable are all common mainstays in OU that can deal with BP chains, meaning that yes, the BP clause was unnecessary. And this is without even mentioning the fact that, with Blaziken being Uber, the only two passers of Spe (without which BP chains cannot work) are frail bugs.

1. You can't phase something with Ingrain set.

2. Espeon was run on -all- BP teams.

3. Stored Power is not affected by Unaware.

4. Scoliopede carries Iron Defense and Espeon Calm Mind.

With Baton Pass for every "this can counter it" argument, there's a backup plan for the BP team
