Yeah, when I use diggersby in this game, I usually end up using a trick room user, meaning it just about always goes first, and proceeds to one shot almost everything for me. You can go back into episode 14 and grind some coins out for trapinch if you want it earlier, it's only 10,000 coins . I'm doing a hardcore mono run atm and just so you know, it's going to almost be impossible unless you get some guys in rotation, for example, I needed the sturdy on graveler in order to kill the chandelure in shade's gym that outsped and one shot all of my team with energy balls, thanks commander. But yeah, there's a whole bunch of excellent ground types, I would also suggest picking up either a quagsire, seismitoad, or gastrodon once you get to azurnine because having an immunity to water is amazing.

I feel like having both power up punch and swords dance is a bit redundant, so perhaps exchange it for something like bullet punch, and then, with swords dance, I feel as if dragon dance is a bit irrelevant, so something like ice punch or extreme speed would be better. Although, if you want to do a special set, you can give it nasty plat with some moves along the lines of aura sphere, flash cannon, and dark pulse.

I think that it's possible to do with just a ground type mono run, as I did it, on hardcore. But there are some great pokemon you're missing out on. Back at the beryl cemetery you can catch bunnebly and phanphy, both of which are good, my personal preference is bunnelby because huge power is amazing. Then, there's geodude, diglett, and sandshrew under the staircase. If you have a ton of money laying around you can grab a link stone early to evolve the graveler into a golem. Digglet is amazing for revenge killing anything because of it's amazing speed stat. Geodude with sturdy is nice because self destruct. If you feel like grinding coins in the arcade, you can grab a nidoran, and there's a moonstone in the slums that you can grab to get it to nidoking immediately. On top of all of that, depending on what you get from the mystery egg event from trading a growlithe egg to one of the cops, you can either get a drilbur or a rhyhorn, both of which being pretty good, drilbur obviously being the better one. In short, there's a whole bunch of options, and my personal recommendations include bunnelby, geodude, and nidoran.

I figured as much, and also, I ended up having to use all three pokemon that you gave me, and I thank you for doing so, otherwise i would have had to end my monorun before Julia, which would have been horrible. I just finished the mystery egg event and was disappointed to find the only time I get an Axew egg is when I'm doing a ground mono

Well, for tanks there's a whole bunch of options that we have, there's Steelix, Reuiniclus, Hippowdown, Tentacruel and Carricosta. For sweepers, a sheer force nidoking would probably do you wonders, and you probably won't even need to breed for it because it learns a lot off of tms, like sludge wave and flamethrower, and it learns earth power from leveling. My personal favorite water type available in the game right now is Tentacruel, it's got high special defense, and it's typing has really good coverage. This should also cover three of your wanted aspects, being a tank, water, and poison. For a ground type, I have two in mind, my personal favorite pokemon, diggersby, with a set something along the lines of huge power, earthquake, strength, swords dance, and quick attack, it's nearly unstoppable, and is only hindered by it's speed, as it one shots pretty much everything. Another good ground type(if you're lucky) is Excadrill, you can get this guy from the mystery egg event. Excadrill sets in reborn usually look something like swords dance, earthquake, metal claw, rock slide. If you also choose to take a hippowdown as your tank, you can set up a sandstom and just watch excadril sweep entire teams by itself with sand rush, giving excadril a free agility.

So far so good dude, keep it up, I'm a little concerned as a fighting gym is coming up, and I'm interested to see what you do about it because most of her pokemon carry either rock slide, ice punch, or thunder punch, so that counters your flying type. Also, do you get an entirely different Corey fight depending on whether you find the police or not, because his team was really easy, and I didn't mess with the police quest until after the fight.

Can someone hack in a pokemon for a hardcore monorun?

Thank you very much, Commander, I'll be sure to update you once I beat Julia, or lose so many times I rage -

The thing is, because Golett is both ghost and ground, as long as her Heliolisk doesn't carry surf, which I don't think it does, Julia really doesn't have anything to hit you with, at all, because neither sonicboom, charge beam, or explosion can hit you. Then there's that fucking emolga, but if I get ne guard, Golett learns roll out naturally, you can set that up early, live(hopefully) the acrobatics and proceed to sweep with rollout for a few more turns. But, just incase, could I also get a Swinub, as a pokemon to fall back on. And here's the save Game.rxdata -
I've been wanting to do a monorun for a while, so, I might as well just start on the harder version of Reborn, right? But I want to do a ground type mono without using the starters that the game gives you, so, for the pokemon I'm looking at for starters are Rhydon, Golett, Swinub, Sandile, or Baltoy. I don't think any of these are too strong, but I know from experience that Golett can sweep Julia alone, pretty much.

Alright, second time all the way through the game, and I'm using a trick room team, again. It's as follows, make adjustments as you guys see fit Peilipper: Rain Dish Hydro Pump Surf Tailwind Hurricane Rypherior: Solid Rock Poison Jab Earthquake Rock Wrecker Hammer Arm Heracross: Moxie Megahorn Close Combat Brick Break Rock Tomb Porygon Z: Download Trick Room Dark Pulse Tri Attack Discharge Abomasnow: Snow Warning Blizzard Wood Hammer Ice Shard Ingrain(I know I have to fix this, I just don't know what for since all I ever do on this thing is spam blizzard) Diggersby: Pickup (jk it's Huge Power) Strength Quick Attack Earthquake Bounce(for grass coverage, but I'm probably gonna swap this for swords dance soon)

As we already had the ground type gym, you don't really ahve to worry about ground types nearly as much. Personally I think lucario would do you wonders as it eat rock type moves for breakfast, and dishes out great damage, without overlapping types. On top of that, since it's a steel type, it will be able to do tons in the next gym vs the fairy type leader, in the next episode(probably). I think that grass knot is just fine on gardevoir, because with the rock type gym coming up in the future, and rock types being very heavy, it should put in work. Normally, if you wanted only a team of six, I would replace Elektross with Lucario, but with the water type gym coming up, and the water gym definitely having checks to normal electric types, I think that Elektross might be able to sweep it almost highhandedly.
-
Good luck on that dude, you can catch a Pancham and a Makuhita before the next gym, so that's something to look forward to. And you can even use ralts in the future, if you get a male.

What starter are you going to be using? -
For an ice type, I use an abomasnow, because with my trick room on Porygon it just 'outspeeds' everything and spams blizzard until I win
-
It looks like you have a bunch of really good pokemon in rotation, although you might want to post moves to see what we can work on from there, but it seems like you have everything you need, you might want to add an ice type of some sort though.
-
I used a huge power diggersby and spammed strength until the match was over because it got the boost from the field
-
Bunnebly's (diggersby's pre-evolution) attack stat is doubled with huge power, but it doesn't show that on the stat screen, but is calculated as x2 when in battle. Diggersby doesn't have incredible defenses, but it's attack stat is insane, if you manage to set up a swords dance with something like trick room or tailwind up, the game is over.
-
Personally, I think Diggersby is a better pokemon overall, as Diggersby gets Huge Power, and its attack stat will always be doubled. On top of that, you can teach it bulldoze as soon as it evolves with a heart scale, or wait for dig at 37 which is also pretty good. And then, Dig doesn't get its power reduced at Aya's fight which is huge. Diggersby has carried me through at least 5 fights almost highhandedly. EDIT: cosca, on 13 Oct 2015 - 4:17 PM, said: Um yeah, duskull doesn't really do too much damage, but once it learns will o wisp and hex it'll be doing decent damage when it's a dusknoir. For the most part though, it is just a tank

Alright, so I finally beat her in my first try with my new team, I ended up swapping the Pangoro with an abamasnow, because snow warning blizzard combo, and before I got abamasnow in I used trick room so it would go first no matter what. Also, rock wrecker on ryperior one shot that togekiss for me, and with trick room still up, he also one shot the talon flame. Then for the mega alteria, I had heracross rock tomb it twice and I switched diggersby in to strength it for the OVER 9000!!!!
-
Uh, yeah, Heracross is getting outsped by the togekiss sadly, and rock Tomb is definitely not an OKO, I've tried that, trust me, so that's why I picked up the Rhperior with Rock Wrecker Yeah, I thought about replacing Heracross with something along the lines of a Mamoswine or a Warein, personally, I think Walrein looks cooler, so that would be my choice, but maye I could set up hail and spam blizzard or something with it.
