The Bug Run from Hell 2: It'll Actually Probably Work this Time!
So, as some of you friends might know, I intended to do a Bug Monotype Run recently. It ended, unfortunately, very quickly because my old computer made up its mind to not cooperate or even turn on, and as such, my run was at an end.
BUT WAIT!
I come from a Muslim family, and long story short, we celebrate Eid al-Fitr, and I ended up getting a cool $220, which was more than enough to pay for half of my new computer. The thing has decent specs from what I understand, and it'll easily be able to handle Reborn. And it's coming on Friday. This Friday. July 7th. Hells. Yeah.
So likely on Saturday, I'll have my first post on my new forum post up for this run. A brief overview of rules and such:
Rules:
-
Only Bug types are allowed, including Pokemon that only evolve into Bug types (I don't think any such exist, but y'know, there's the rule)
- Unlike my first attempt, Bug-Poison types will be allowed
-
One trade per gym is allowed due to the abundance of early-game Bug types
- Any traded-in Pokemon must be below level 10, especially in later gyms, to make up for the inherent advantage in receiving Pokemon I could not obtain up to that point
- Other Pokemon are allowed for the purposes of HM slavery and accessing otherwise inaccessible Pokemon/items/locations
Non-Rule Sidenotes:
- Right now, the posting plan will likely be one for every day I get to play more than an hour, but I'll turn that up or down depending on the feedback I get from y'all.
-
I'll be using at least one mod: the Any/Random Starter Mod by Walton
assuming I can get it to work- Other mods are possibilities depending on how I feel about their usefulness and fairness, and I'll state at the beginning of each post what my mods are.
- I'll include rough play-by-plays of every major battle within spoiler boxes to keep them from taking up huge parts of the screen ("rough" meaning I'll say every significant and distinct thing that happens; if both of us are just slugging it out with both using the exact same move for 30 turns, I won't say every time each individual move happens)
