  1. Now that two of his newfound companions had said their piece, Ayak decided that it was time to say his as well. Leaning forward from his seat beside the party, he addressed all three of them. 'If this lowly monk may put in a word?' Ayak paused a moment before continuing on. 'It should be known that while it matters little in the long run which foe we decide to pursue, the spirits have told me that despite the words of lord Iian, the smoothest path to victory lies in us confronting that giant that roams the watery deep. Even so, i am but a measly fifth of our collective voice, so i am content even if we as a whole reach a different conclusion. All i ask, is that we remember to give appropriate weight to that which has been revealed to us by those of a higher power.' Ayak was certain of the truth concerning the revelation he had just made, but even so, he had decided to abide by whatever outcome the group would decide upon. After all, it did not matter whether the left hand or the right hand held the food, as long as the mouth was fed in the end.
  2. If you've missed any event pokemon, an alternative to resetting your game is to make use of the Reborn trading service that has just been revived by fellow forum member @Yash. All you need to do is get a different forum member to post their save file along with yours in the forum, and notify yash via pm concerning the details of the trade you wish to make. Atm he's doing it for free, but i think he'd appreciate it if you sent a couple upvotes or rupees his way.
  3. you know, now that i think about it, a team of archers would be amazing in taking down a beast of the sea, since melee warriors will not be doing much in the watery depths of the ocean. Maybe some of the many marksmen in the rp could form a fully ranged strike team. RAIN DEATH FROM ABOVE!!!
  4. 'Well, it would seem i have made a clown of myself, mi'lady Ailos.' Ayak said with a laugh after hearing Ailios' comment about his actions. 'It would be my pleasure to do as you suggest.' He made a mental note to correct the enchantress about her misconceptions concerning his abilities at a later date, seeing as he knew no magic at all- his abilities were solely to do with conversing with spirits and allowing them to take residence in his body instead of the manipulation of mystic forces. Ayak then returned to where Zix, Silef and Dorian were situated, and listened to the conversation that was going on within the group as Dorian attempted to gather information about Zix and Silef. He could tell Dorian what he wished to know, but such information was the kind that had to be revealed by the person in question. And so he sat, watched and listened as the spirits and people continued to converse around him.
  5. Upon hearing Zix's words, Ayak realised what an insult it was that he had directed towards Zix and hastened to make reparations. 'Hmm, do forgive the ramblings of this uninitiated fool, o great caller, for it would seem you share a bond similar to those you call as i do with the spirits around us. I was a fool to assume that you were the same as most others who call upon those not of this world.' He hoped that his words would pacify Zix, for he himself knew well the feeling of anger when others referred to the spirits as his servants. .... Soon after the conversation ended, Ayak noticed the hulking giant lumbering towards them. As Dorian, as he called himself, made his introductions, ayak thought: 'Though i doubt we need a frontliner, and as much as i'd like some ranged support from one of those hunters, he does seem nice enough. I will trust the workings of the great spirit on this one. Furthermore, my studies may have given me some knowledge of the lie of the land, yet there is no beating what you experience first hand. Some form of sustain would be more than welcome as well.' All this took but a sliver of time in Ayak's mind, and as soon as Dorian finished his introductions, He stood up, took the man by his hand, and said: 'Although i cannot speak for the others, i for one would be honored by your addition to Ailos' party. I am Ayak Tanahmas, and i look forward to facing our future trials and joys with you, Dorian.' Now that he had spoken with two of the others who were to join Ailos, Ayak decided that it was high time he met with the leader that they had chosen. Moving surely towards the table where Iian, Asgall and most importantly Ailos were seated, he bowed once again to her and said: 'Although i am but a humble monk travelling to see the world, i would still strive to be more than just an observer, a passive factor in the workings of fate. No matter which arm of this operation you assign us to carry out, i pledge myself to serving this cause. My kris and my skills are yours to use as you see fit until this menace is satisfactorily dealt with.' Having said this, he the took up a position behind Ailos, while subtly motioning for Zix and Dorian to come forward and officialize Ailos as the one who would lead them in their quest.
  6. That would be just amazing. Do tell me which one of my offered trades you want so i can get it ready as well. Also, i'll be quite busy for the next few days so the trade might not happen asap.
  7. Ayak took a stand, and moved himself over to where the Zix and Silef had already started to form a group of sorts. Looking at the both of them, he beckoned the both of them to come closer, smiled earnestly and said: 'If you two would have me, it would be my honor to fight alongside you.' Even as the words left his lips, he could sense the local spirits affirming his decision, telling him that he was on the path intended for him by the great spirit. Even so, he could sense a misunderstanding occurring between the leaders and the others present. He would have to remedy that. He addressed the entire room, saying: 'But even as i present my petition to you two, i believe that we have not truly answered the question that our esteemed leaders have posed to us.' Sparing a glance in Iian's direction, Ayak continued: 'They have decided to go about this by first allowing us to choose who we wish to serve under, only after which our respective adversaries would be determined. 'Mi'lady, i believe it would be unwise to choose a task before we fully take into account our assets, that in this case being our teammates.' Taking the slightest of moments to deliberate the choices at hand as well as to recall what the spirits had told him about his future partners, Ayak addressed the two before him. 'If i am mistaken, do forgive this humble monk of his foolishness, but i gather that you, my hooded friend, are a highly accomplished summoner of some sort with multiple arcane beings at your beck and call, while mi'lady is a noble warrior who fights with implements fashioned of shining light.' Ayak now had a rough idea of their talents, but realized that they still knew nothing of his. No matter, he would just clarify the extent of his abilities to whoever his teammates were when all this sorting was said and done. 'Bearing all this in mind, i believe our abilities would synergise greatly with those of our great mage Ailos,' as he gestured in her direction, 'seeing as to how we lack any form of misdirection and subterfuge amongst our tentative team, and with a summoner who can bring to bear otherworldly beings to assist in our fight, i doubt we would require the hulking offensive wall that Asgall brings to the table. However, this is but the opinion of a simple man such as I, and i am sure that you two will be able to come to a wiser decision than i have.' Upon saying his piece, Ayak bowed in the direction of Ailos and drew up a nearby chair. He sat down once more, while beckoning for both Zix and Silef to grab chairs of their own. He continued to observe the room, noting the alliances that were starting to form between those present, but most of his attention was focused on Zix and Silef with hope that they would muse on what he had said.
  8. I currently have access to both shroomish and togepi, both of which are unavailable in the current release of reborn, as well as shuckle and slakoth, both of which are an immense pain to get imo. In exchange i would like a froakie (ivs, nature and ability doesn't matter), a charmander (again, details don't matter) or a magikarp. would prefer them to be female.
  9. Hmm, one of the best intro threads i've encountered, with bonus points for audacity if not originality. Anyways, welcome to the forums, and i'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it here, what with all the naive losers like me lying around for you to torment. Also, do come join us on the reborn showdown server, i promise you'll meet people of your... caliber there.
  10. Well, considering that the average sizes of pokemon are all available on most sites such as bulbapedia and serebii, i personally don't see the need for such a function to be implemented in the pokedex. So to answer your question, i don't think such a feature will ever be in reborn (watch as ame proves me wrong the very next episode). Also, i'm fairly certain that there are sites out there dedicated to exactly the sort of size comparison you speak of, so maybe you can find answers to your size related questions there.
  11. Valid points. Do forgive my impatience though, its been somewhat of a slow week for me.
  12. Hmm, you know, i'm starting to get a feel for the pace of forum rps. seems pretty.... laid back, for lack of a better description. . ... ...... *starts to wonder how he's gonna maintain the hype for an entire week*
  13. Welcome to the forums, johnnyjoker. Rest assured, you'll definitely love the game at least as much as you did previously, and i agree with how amazing the game is. As for the rules, i'm pretty sure one of the mods will be along soon with the whole shebang, do read through everything so your experience here will be as pleasant as possible.
  14. Oh, my bad, my brain misinterpreted Cal as blake. In that case, feel free to disregard whatever i just said.
  15. Hmm, if you don't know where good rod is obtained, head to spinel town and walk along the left edge of the entrance into the town. Eventually a tree will disappear allowing you to enter the building where the good rod is located.
  16. Welp, coming from a alcohol intolerant person, i'd say that they're all the same to me. #sourgrapes Anyways, welcome to the forums, you'll definitely have a great time here.
  17. Upon walking into the room, Ayak noticed that he was among the last to arrive, deducing the fact from the eleven other people in the room who had already assembled prior to his arrival. Without a second glance, he walked up to the central table, and bowed to each of the leaders in deference, following which he turned around and bowed to the assembly in general. 'I look forward to traveling with such esteemed personages.' he said as he straightened up, and eventually settled on the floor right by the frail looking man swathed in black, noting how his new neighbor flinched ever so slightly as he took his seat. As the attention of the others were slowly returned to their respective tasks, Ayak continued observing each one in turn, and kept his thoughts to himself, yet smiling and nodding at anyone he managed to make eye contact with.
  18. One way you could regain access to that floor is to revert to episode 13, buy whatever you require, and go back to episode 14. A bit of a hassle, but its not that bad.
  19. hmm, we may or may not need more barbarians in this particular campaign. Then again, maybe we could all cower behind Dorian seeing as to how most of our characters are on the frail side.
  20. Well, circumstances being exactly as the title describes, i guess i'll just delve into the basics for all you who are uninitiated in the fine art of AW. First off, what the game is all about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advance_Wars Now that you have a barebones understanding of what AW is all about, AWBW is basically the same thing, except it will be played on a browser and you'll be able to pit your wits against people anywhere throughout the world. For this first game we'll be looking for a total of 8 players in 4 teams of 2. It doesn't matter if you're a green newbie or a seasoned veteran, all are welcome to partake in this game*terms and conditions apply. Do bear in mind that as this game will be played across multiple time zones with participants of different nationalities, so some time will be required before your turn comes along. therefore, i would suggest those with a limited amount of patience remove themselves from this topic and run far far far far away. SO, for those who are still keen on duking it out on the battlefield, feel free to post your assent below in this thread. For inquiries, contact either @Rooreeloo or @finkeltinklewinkle and we'll try our best to answer any questions or doubts you have concerning AWBW. Godspeed soldier, and may we meet on the fields of war.
  21. You know, no matter how good schrodinger is at pitching sales, all you need to do is examine the product thoroughly to determine if you wanna buy it. On another note, welcome to the forums Breezey, i'm sure you'll like it here.
  22. Name: Ayak Tanahmas Gender: Male Age: middle aged, nearing 60 Appearance: Lean, wiry, of medium height, with skin bronzed and hardened due to a lifetime of living in the south. Body bears evidence of scars throughout, ranging in length from that of a finger joint to almost that of a forearm. Moves with an alien grace, yet always seems like a coiled spring, ready to leap at any moment. Upon observation, one sees a weather worn, age lined face shaped like a sunflower seed, sporting a somewhat stubby nose and slightly slanted eyes set somewhat apart from each other. Unexpressive, tightly closed lips. Sports a tightly plaited beard of about 2 handspans in length and rolled into a bun, with peppery grey hair cropped short and close to the scalp. Backstory and abilities: Hailing from the Lamay peninsular in the far south, Ayak was born to a caste of warrior monks under the service of the prophet king Jokowira, also known as the conduit of the Great spirit's will. Dedicated since birth to carrying out the will of the spirit, Ayak was trained in the disciplines of the monks, among which included conversing with the spirits, the knowledge and legacy of their people and of the world, as well as the time honored martial art of pencak silat. Upon coming of age, Ayak went forth into the world as one of many field operatives, to better guide the world along its course in line with the great spirit's revelations. Preferring the ways of the pen rather than the sword, his modus operandi is to seek out individuals in pivotal positions, be they great leader or lowly handmaid. Backed by his many years of experience and extensive knowledge, along with some exposition from the spirits, Ayak sets their course with a gentle gesture or diplomatic speech. Eventually like a well guided arrow, events would align and destiny would move along its intended course. However, this does not mean that Ayak is unprepared for hostile confrontations. In such situations, Ayak relies on his well grounded training in pencak silat, and wielding his kris taming patta, he possesses more than ample capability to fend off many threats in his line of work. And if even that does not suffice, Ayak has recourse to the ancient skill known only to some and mastered by few- spirit sieving. Spirit sieving is a door open only to those who have gained the trust of the spirits. Upon arriving in an area, practitioners are able to commune with the local spirits. Upon obtaining consent, a spirit sieve can then absorb certain spirits to reside within him for a time, gaining powers such as increased strength, faster reaction times, even control of the elements as well as the wisdom and knowledge of the local spirits. However, unlocking these abilities take time, with about one month being required to fully unlock the complete range of powers. This is due to the fact that absorbing spirits require much time and energy, and one has to sway each spirit individually to their cause. Furthermore, upon leaving the area, all resident spirits have to leave the body, causing temporary physical weakness and fatigue, much like the action of sieving. For all his strengths and abilities, Ayak is not without his flaws. For one, although he understands the function of most machinery, he is utterly unable to operate even the simplest contraption. Even a child's plaything turns to broken cogs and screws in his hands. Another failing is that Ayak is utterly terrified of heights, refusing to enter buildings even 5 stories off the ground. His advanced age also plays a factor, seeing as he no longer enjoys the vigor of youth. However, such problems are rectified when ayak absorbs the appropriate spirits, allowing him to shore up his shortcomings. P.S. Ayak is not meant to be a powerhouse without his spirits, and will be played as more of a diplomat and info gatherer. Belongings: packed rations to last for a week, a few gold coins, Taming pata the kris, a travelling cloak, two sets of monk's robes, a straw hat, a flute, a box of joss sticks and a box of matches Reason for joining: Travelling to see the world is what would be told to the other adventurers, but for actual reason, just read above backstory. P.S. kurotsune, do feel free to make any adjustments or corrections you deem necessary
  23. I would love to have a piece of the action. But in light of my irl location, i feel that it might be a bit troublesome to join in, given timezone differences and stuff.
  24. If you're having trouble with catching the surskit, i suggest waiting until you can get to the pokeball shop in obsidia. Netballs can be obtained there, and are very effective and catching bug or water type pokemon, both of which surskit is.
  25. dusk stones are indeed unminable, i believe what you saw was a moon stone. Also, there is an item location guide available here on the forums, and you could always just refer to it if you're looking for something in particular. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8857&hl
