Could be a few things, try this for chrome: Go to the top right wrench, click on settings, look for the "Search" subtopic, click the box "Enable Instant for faster searching", now reload your browser and it should work. If that doesn't work try this: wrench, tools, extensions, uncheck "Complitly plugin for chrome" if you have it, if not try unchecking them all just to see if it will work, restart chrome first.
