One thing you mentioned that I don't think really fits with the rest of what you said is one-dimensional characters. Characters not being one-dimensional wouldn't make the game too difficult for the target demographic, and a storyline doesn't need to be mature for characters to not be one-dimensional. Although Pokemon does have a fair amount of characters that aren't one-dimensional.

It seems like Instruct is kind of like a reverse Disable. I think it's kind of inconvenient that Rockruff's evo forms are version exclusive...especially since I'm still trying to decide which one I like more. In the customization where they were changing hair color, I noticed violet was in the options. One thing I didn't like in XY's customization was not being able to choose unnatural hair colors.
