  1. You have to win the martial arts minigame that happens when interacting with it. In the martial arts minigame, each speech command the opponent uses corresponds to an action, and each command option you're given reacts differently to what the opponent chooses. The following Chimchar quotes mean it's going to defend. Using a precise attack will break through Chimchar's defense. "Chim!" "Char char!" "Chaar!" The following Chimchar quotes mean it's going to use a precise attack. I don't remember which option is best here, but I do know that using a precise attack when the opponent does causes a draw for the round where neither side takes damage. "Chim char!" "Chim?" "Chiiim!" The following Chimchar quotes mean it's going to use a fierce attack. Defending will block these attacks. "Chaaar!" "CHIIIM CHAAAR!" "Chim chim!" The following Chimchar quotes mean it's going to use its special attack. The best option here is to use your special attack too, because there's no way to block or cancel out a special attack. "Chim chim chim!" "Char char char!" "Chim char chim char!"
  2. Reuploaded. All the info below is for Spork; I don't believe I made any changes to DDDL since the last reupload (but still reuploaded DDDL just in case) Updates -custom shiny Sunkern and Sunflora sprites made by Steffi -PC boxes are now available on the pause menu like in SwSh -all player character options now show up at once on the intro scene, so players can see all three at the same time when making a decision. The boy, girl, and non-binary text options for the decision have also been changed to Left, Middle, and Right -added items: Twisted Rock (a Trick Room extending item, thanks to Cervys for the script!), Terrain Extender, and Room Service. These items are sold by the weather rock and seed vendor at the Battle Mall, and a Twisted Rock is now also given by the Hiker at the Fork Gatehouse who gives weather rocks when spoken to -added Poke Balls: Dream Ball and Ceolis Ball (thanks to Steffi for the Ceolis Ball graphics and Dream Ball summary icon!). These Poke Balls can be bought at the Poke Ball floor of the Department Store, and Ceolis Balls are also sold at the Sea Star Society's Pokemart -added abilities Water Bubble and Punk Rock -changed Tomas's Toxtricity's ability to Punk Rock -added notepad file "evomethodsandotherchanges" for mechanics that work differently in Spork than they do in the official games -Mr. Rhyme is now a Mr. Rime (still named Mr. Rhyme) -added text to more objects in Gina's house in the first Dark Dungeon dream -changed the Surf prompt text because "The water is a deep blue" doesn't apply to the Yellow Sea -updated the Nosy Nosepass interview of Chelsea with a couple more puns -removed the red and blue font colors from dialogue of NPCs copied from base Essentials (move relearner, Game Corner employees, daycare couple, name rater) (I kept the red text for the nurses though) -syntax: Bike Shop capitalization Bug Fixes -Stamina now activates/was (possibly re-?)added to the game -When Berserk activates, the text now says Berserk instead of Stamina -the Hiker at the Battle VR now uses the more recent Hiker sprite -the obtainablepokemon notepad file info for Goomy is now accurate -can no longer walk through the books in Gina's room in the first Dark Dungeon dream The shiny Sunkern and Sunflora are based on the tree at the Crown Tundra where the Galarian legendary birds are first seen! We've had this idea since last year. Sunkern was brought up for consideration due to being one of the shinies that looks very close to the regular Pokemon, and when I saw that tree from the trailer I thought of how the shinies would look with those colors, and also really liked the way the tree looks. The Ceolis Ball is like a Premier Ball in that it doesn't have any functional differences from a regular Poke Ball and is purely cosmetic. It's existed in the game's data for a while, as it's the type of Poke Ball Ceolis sends out his Pokemon with in battle, but hasn't been obtainable until now. For the intro scene: I've always wanted to have all player character options available on the screen at once. In a reupload last year I added an "Is this you?" question after selecting a player so that people can go back and see the other options, but now I was able to put all three on the screen at once from looking at the intro scene event page in Pokemon Redemption. The new notepad file lists information on evo methods, forms (like Alolan and Galarian forms being treated as their own species), gender mechanics, ability notes, and a few other details where Spork differs from the official games. A lot of this information is already listed elsewhere, like in other notepad files or in the FAQ, but I thought it'd be helpful to have all of it accessible in one place too. I've noticed how each year from 2019 to now has a different reupload frequency. 2019: after the initial release of ep 8 and the bug-fixing reuploads that followed shortly after, reuploads happened around every month and a half-2 months. 2020: aside from a few bug-fixing reuploads, there were less reuploads, with a few months in between but with a lot of content 2021: so far it's been very chaotic. There's been a mix of major reuploads, reuploads solely for bug-fixing, and reuploads that included a couple additions that were made early due to major bugs being found. It's possible there might be a shift for the second half of 2021, with longer times between reuploads. Looking at upcoming plans, a lot will take a while. Here's what I have planned currently for the future, in no particular order: Smoothie solo songs: each member of Smoothie getting their own individual song. This is probably the one I can do the soonest, since it doesn't require Gen 8 DLC or any other resources I don't currently have. But I would need to do some planning in advance, for the songs (lyrics and choosing the locations) and the start of the quest. Gen 8 DLC + new planet: I've planned out most of the quests for the Gen 8 DLC Pokemon in advance, and I don't think those by themselves would take that long. But I'm also adding a new planet. This new planet will be Isabelle-connected like Wonky Woods and Umira. Although it's not related to any Pokemon quests, I'll still need to wait for the Gen 8 DLC resources to add it, because along with its own atmosphere, it'll also have simulation trainers with teams matching those of every character from the official series. Since Klara and Avery have G-Slowbro and Mustard has Urshifu, that's why I'd need to wait until then. I also plan to go all out with this planet on the zaniness. In addition to the random text and objects already featured in maps like Wonky Woods and Umira and with the simulation trainers, I'd like to up my game here and add more factors. Colorful Reupload: for episode 8 I made skin tone variations of most NPCs. For the colorful reupload, what I'd be doing is making both versions of these NPCs have different colors for the hair, clothes, and/or eyes (with review + assistance from Palletite and Steffi). I actually spent a lot of time between last reupload and this one forming ideas and some designs have already been made, but may not be the final versions. Experimental Reupload: this is where I'll be looking at ideas I've had for a while but haven't fully decided on whether or not I want to do. There's also smaller tasks like attempting to script more moves and items from Gens 7 and 8, and I also have a few more ideas for custom shiny concepts. It should be noted that this just covers upcoming plans from my end. I'm not able to speak for the schedules of the rest of team Spork for example with spriting and map revamps, but I thought it was important to mention possible length between reupload times in the future since my plans might take a while and I know other members of team Spork have ongoing IRL situations. Thank you for your patience and continued enjoyment of Spork!
  3. Reuploaded adding the Punk Rock ability, with Tomas's Toxtricity now having it
  4. She's in the Recreation District, in the park-like area. She'll be near where I'm standing in this screenshot: She appears after the first time you speak to Raymond.
  5. Step 1: Go to the court house/gym (the first building you see from the entrance to the city) and speak to Raymond inside Step 2: Go to the Recreation District and speak to + battle Crolea Step 3: Go to the Sweets Shop in the west half of the Services District and speak to + battle Delicia Step 4: Go to the contest hall and speak to Crolea, first at the entrance and then at the top right corner of the part with the contest areas Step 5: Go back to the court house/gym and speak to Raymond Step 6: The Twilight Tavern/gym in the Recreation District will now be open. Go there and interact with the trash can to open the way to the back Step 7: Go through the underground and Vitamin Factory Step 8: after that, you can challenge Raymond's gym followed by Dylan's gym
  6. I recommend not saving at Aliora Meadow at all since it seems like it always happens in this specific area. If you travel through Aliora Meadow, it'd be best to save in a map before or after going through there. I searched this error message a couple days ago but haven't been able to find the cause still. There were results of people getting it in Reborn and Rejuvenation, but the replies mentioned that it means the save file is corrupt. I don't think in Spork's case the files are corrupt though, because in my experience corrupt save files can't be fixed by any means, while the ones from Spork can be fixed by saving on my end and sending the file back (I could be misunderstanding how corrupt save files work though). In the future, if there are more errors like this, could you please post them in the save file troubleshooting thread? Later today after you've had time to download your file from this post I'll be merging your threads about this error into there. Game.rxdata
  7. The saga that relates to this issue: Part 1: https://www.rebornevo.com/forums/topic/40538-spork-delicias-delicious-dreamland-bug-reporting-thread/page/8/?tab=comments#comment-917584 Part 2: https://www.rebornevo.com/forums/topic/40538-spork-delicias-delicious-dreamland-bug-reporting-thread/page/8/?tab=comments#comment-917684 Part 3: https://www.rebornevo.com/forums/topic/40538-spork-delicias-delicious-dreamland-bug-reporting-thread/page/10/?tab=comments#comment-925631 Part 4: https://www.rebornevo.com/forums/topic/40538-spork-delicias-delicious-dreamland-bug-reporting-thread/page/11/?tab=comments#comment-929548 Summarized: This is a really strange glitch that's always been in the game, but wasn't discovered until recent years. Earlier this year, I found that the healing machine in the starting room at Virima Hotel had a second event page that would reset the progress for that part of the story as well as cause the second gym battle to repeat if you spoke to Ashley again before the postgame. But even deleting that event page didn't stop it from happening, which might mean there's another event somewhere that causes progress there to reset that hasn't been found yet. In the future, please posts bugs in the bug reporting thread. Later today, I'll be merging a few topics from the past couple days into the bug reporting and save file troubleshooting threads.
  8. This happens if the total EVs you debug in go past the total limit (508 I believe). Looking at the screenshots, you added 252 to several stats when the total limit only allows for 252 in two stats in a 252/252/4 spread.
  9. Just tested and can confirm that Stamina isn't boosting Defense. I looked in some of the script sections relating to abilities and moves and it seems like Stamina might not even be programmed into the game. The only mention of Stamina is in the script for Berserk, where it looks like when Berserk is activated the text says Stamina instead of Berserk: Possibilities I can think of: 1: I forgot to remove Stamina in abilities.txt after unsuccessful attempts at scripting it 2: I forgot to attempt to script it to begin with 3: Stamina was in the game at one point but got deleted accidentally I'll try to (possibly re-?) add Stamina for the next reupload. Originally your topic was asking about how to obtain Marbles that changed locations. I saw it but didn't have time to respond or fully process it because dinner was ready at the exact time I was reading, and when I came back the topic had changed. Could you repost the question about Marbles?
  10. This is the same error message as last time, can you send your save file since saving from my end appears to fix it from other peoples' end?
  11. Do you remember when you downloaded the game? Pokemon evolution stages having different EXP growth rates was fixed in the March 11 reupload, and the most recent reupload of Spork was May 19. I also checked the pokemon.txt file just in case I missed Electrike or changes got reverted, and Electrike and Manectric have the same EXP growth rate on my copy.
  12. With the Channel feature now online in SIFAS, if you register for a school idol's channel, you can get 25 Memorial Pieces when it's that idol's birthday! Karin's birthday will be the first opportunity to do this. Though also, once you join a channel, you can't switch to another idol's channel except through downtime, so birthday hopping between channels for the Memorial Pieces might not be practical.
  13. This happened to someone else yesterday too (also in Aliora Meadow). Unfortunately, at this time I don't know what causes the error and haven't been able to replicate it from my end. But for the other person, after I saved and sent back their save file, it was fixed from their end and they were able to continue playing. Does the game work again after downloading the attached file? Game.rxdata
  14. Houndour: Opaque Valley (optional area first accessible between 5th and 6th gym) Chimchar: Premoggin Canyon event (first accessible between 7th and 8th gym) Magnemite: Weather Wonderland Stormy Section (first accessible between 7th and 8th gym) There's a notepad file included in the game folder, obtainablepokemon, that lists the locations of Pokemon in the game (although it doesn't list the earliest point in terms of gyms where they can be first obtained)
  15. The Berry Shop in Aliora City (where the fourth gym is) sells every kind of berry, including EV-reducing ones. The second and third questions are answered in the FAQ. @Vince&Sylveon it's not for Reborn since the OP asks if the game has a nature changer "like in Pokemon Reborn"
  16. I remember years ago seeing somebody play Spork who had a hard time nicknaming his Pokemon because whenever he tried to give them a nickname that had the letter a in it, the a key was acting like the enter key for some reason so the game would proceed past the nickname screen whenever the letter a was pressed. Unfortunately I don't know what causes it or how to fix it. The only idea that comes to mind is if maybe some keys have a different or extra function on some peoples' keyboards, but that would be strange for something like that to only activate on nickname screens in Pokemon fangames, so I'm not very confident in it.
  17. I tested this just now by giving myself all the Eeveelution signs and setting the necessary switches for the Battle Frontier scene to play, but after the scene my walking directions were still normal. It seems like there was something else that was causing you to get locked into facing north. Once in a while there's an extremely specific and otherworldly glitch like this Thanks for the details, though! I appreciate that you explained what happened beforehand to help with finding the cause.
  18. Direction fixes like this happen when a player is on an object where they can only move in certain directions. For example when you're climbing a ladder, you can only move up and down, not left and right. It happening with the Battle Frontier is strange...I don't believe there's anything on that map or in that scene that's intended to cause it, so this is something I'll need to look into. How I fixed it was going to Technicolor Forest and climbing up and back down the ladder to Mable's treehouse. Direction fix issues can be fixed by going to an object that has a direction fix and then when you step away from the object, the player's directions will be back to normal. Game.rxdata
  19. Here's a guide for how to send save files: https://www.rebornevo.com/pr/save/ It was written for Pokemon Reborn but works with all Essentials fangames. I think it has the same limit as in the official games. iirc recent gens upped it slightly, but Spork goes by the 508. I also read this in the Rejuv V13 alpha server yesterday, which reminded me of your situation, so it might be possible the EV overflow is what happened:
  20. Here's an aice cream sandwich!
  21. That's very strange...it reminds me of the Gen 2 glitch where under certain circumstances, a Marowak holding a Thick Club could reach an Attack stat so high that it looped back around and went really low. The only thing that's coming to mind currently, did your total EVs of all stats put together go past 508 after setting them? Would you be able to send over your save file?
  22. Reuploaded DDDL -added better day and night screen tones script by VanillaSunshine -syntax: candy shop -> Sweets Shop Spork Updates -custom shiny Finneon and Lumineon sprites made by Palletite and Steffi -separated starter selection into rooms for each Pokemon generation -added better day and night screen tones script by VanillaSunshine (found by Enigma) -syntax: candy shop -> Sweets Shop, Herb Shop and Berry Shop are now capitalized when mentioned by NPCs, Dentist's Office is capitalized Spork Bug Fixes -Farfetch'd, Teddiursa, Wailmer, Skorupi, and Yamask are available as starters again (they got lost last year when I separated starter selection into two maps, and I didn't realize until a couple days ago) -can no longer hop up a part of the ledge at the Cave of Resolve -for Pokemon caught with a Lure Ball, the top half of the Lure Ball icon on their summary screen is now the correct blue instead of green (last reupload I fixed the colors for when the player is throwing a Lure Ball, but didn't realize the summary screen icon for Lure Balls was like that too) -Aron no longer faces backwards in starter selection This is an early reupload. When I was playtesting the starter rooms and learned there were five missing starters I thought it was best to reupload as soon as I was able. Last year I separated starter selection into two connected maps to reduce lag, and I think it helped but didn't erase it completely. I still noticed it taking longer to walk, and at the area where the maps are connected, there would be a couple seconds of inactivity before the player resumed walking. Someone requested me to separate the starter room by generation last year, and at the time I responded that it was something I considered before but didn't know how to address a few factors, like if Litwick would follow the player into each room, and I also felt having all of them in one room fit better with the dream context. But I think I was overthinking it back then. There's also Joiplay and future gens to consider. I think helping reduce lag would be especially important for people playing on Joiplay. And for Gen 9 and beyond, with the old layout I'd have to keep making updates to the starter selection to ensure the least amount of lag. With each gen having its own room, I don't have to worry about planning around having too many events on one map. Alolan and Galarian forms are in the Alola and Galar sections respectively, since they function as different species in Spork. The shiny Finneon and Lumineon are based on the Gen 4 beta sprites for them that were leaked a few months ago! I really liked the Lumineon's colors and immediately considered it as a shiny idea when I saw it. I'm amazed at how the sprites Palletite and Steffi made turned out! Something else I wanted to show in the post that's for a future reupload is a screenshot of the revamped Ocean Coast Enigma's been working on! This is the shoreline. While before you entered Ocean Coast going west from the Sea of Knowledge, now you go north. Ocean Coast's layout and connections to surrounding areas have been updated completely. Although you can't see all of them just from this screenshot, I like how many colors and shades are in the rocks and cliffs for Ocean Coast! I was originally going to post a screenshot in front of the diving entrance to the Sea Star Society too, but I decided to save that for the reupload when the map set is complete. The next set of new maps will be added to Spork when the revamps reach up to Mt. Comet, since that fits best for map transitions (like having both parts of the Sea of Knowledge) and is Enigma's current vision with this set.
