Facing lots of lag and slowdowns.
Ice Cream Sand Witch replied to Eyeshun's topic in Official Spork Club's Topics
Spork doesn't have an mkxp version because I don't know how to make one*. I apologize for the inconvenience and I hope you're able to find an alternative to help reduce lag for Spork and other non-mkxp games *I haven't looked into how to do so or what it is and the only thing I knew before reading this thread is that it's an alternative way to play (RPG Maker and/or Essentials?) games that works better for some people. It's possibly something I could look into in the future since I know a little more about it now from this thread (that it reduces lag for players who have trouble with lag normally) and that seems like it would be good to have . If it requires any amount of technical or programming knowledge I probably wouldn't be able to, so I can't make any guarantees, but I can look into it in the future at least. -

Update on this: I made it to this point last night, and decided to go back to Premoggin Softlands after each story event to see if I could narrow down the cause. I flew back there after I got to Norall City and everything was the same as when I left, and then I flew back after the Pokemon Research Institute and that's when the entire Premoggin section of story was reset. I checked my variables and the "Premoggin Progress" variable was reset to 0. At the Pokemon Research Institute I spoke to Anthony and then had the conversation with Kayla and Crolea. I didn't see anything in either of these events that reset the Premoggin Progress variable, but decided to set the Norall Progress variable back to 0 and the Premoggin Progress variable back up to 6 to see if it was the Kayla & Crolea conversation, and it doesn't seem to be, because when I flew back to Premoggin Softlands after repeating the conversation, everything was normal. I also checked through each event in Norall City from NPCs to door entrances and exits and there was nothing in them that resets the Premoggin Progress variable. Thinking I made a mistake by not going back to Premoggin immediately after talking to Anthony, I selected new game and went through the dream starter scene, then warped to Weather Wonderland and quickly got through all the Premoggin story events + Kelani battle by pressing control to skip battles, then went to Norall and spoke to Anthony in the Pokemon Research Institute, then returned to Premoggin. But it doesn't seem to be speaking to Anthony that causes the Premoggin events to repeat either, because everything was the same when I came back. Findings for now: there seems to be an event somewhere in Norall City that resets the Premoggin Progress variable, but I was unable to find it through testing or searching through the maps, and I looked at everything I could think to look at. I added a parallel process event to Premoggin Softlands that sets the Premoggin Progress variable to 6 if the player's Norall Progress variable is 1 or higher, so this will hopefully fix the issue or at least lessen the amount of players that experience it.

At first I thought this was only happening to me, because I was testing newer events on an older file around December 2019-January 2020. But I saw a video of this happening to someone else around a week ago, and with your report here, it seems to be universal. I'm currently doing a playthrough of Spork to make the next reupload as polished as possible, and this is something I plan to investigate when I get to that point in the game to see what causes it to happen.

Can't launch the game

I think they meant since they have a iphone, they'll try the file extraction suggestion for PC since Android is needed for Joiplay -

If you have an Android you could try Joiplay, though I wouldn't be able to offer any assistance with any issues relating to the app. It would narrow down whether it's because of debug though, since from what I've seen debug isn't enabled when playing on Joiplay. If it does work on Joiplay than it's likely debug, although if it doesn't I wouldn't have any ideas since this is the first time this has been reported. If you don't have an Android: I'm not sure if it's specifically because of debug, but for the next reupload I've changed how debug works; it won't be enabled by default but instead can be switched on and off by speaking to a tree in Pokemon Centers, if you don't have an Android and are okay with waiting until the next reupload to try again. -

At the top of the game.exe screen where the Pokemon Spork text is, did you see anything about the maps processing before it closed? Also I edited out the second screenshot of your post because one of the server icons shown with your discord in the background looked NSFW -

Which system are you playing on? I don't know all the details but I've heard that Macs have a harder time playing RPG Maker games than PC. Is there an error message between the game opening and disappearing, or does it just disappear? -
Triage isn't in Spork because I wasn't able to script it, but I checked just now and it's listed as a possible ability for Comfey. Apologies for the mixup, I'll remove it as an ability for the next reupload. The reason it's listed could have been that I forgot to remove it after not succeeding in scripting it.

It was the first one, where you get a Marble, Lopunnite, and Steelixite for winning
-
I found the marble you were missing! It was the one from battling ICSW. When I loaded your save you were in Lovely Lake so I went back there and saved after getting the marble. Game.rxdata
-
The file you sent was the rxproject, the save file is Game.exe which in your PC -> Users -> Saved Games -> Pokemon Spork. This thread has instructions for uploading your save file if needed, it was written for Reborn but works with all Essentials fangames: https://www.rebornevo.com/pr/save/

For the Ninja Club, you have to complete the ranger and police sidequests for it to open. I should maybe add that as a note to the list I've had the same thing happen where I've felt like I've done everything and checked my marbles and was missing a few. Did you get the Marble as the reward for turning in 90+ marbles? I'm about to turn off my laptop for tonight but if you want to send your save file I can see it when I wake up tomorrow, I can set the Marble variable to

Apologies if these are silly questions

I'm really glad you're enjoying Spork! Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with Joiplay as Vince&Sylveon said, so I wouldn't know how to troubleshoot issues on it. You might get a better answer by going directly to the developer(s) of the app. For Gen 8 Pokemon, they'll be added in the next reupload, which at earliest will probably be late this month. I did recently learn in the past few days that Palletite is currently IRL situation + semester starting soon, so it might be later as there are some sprites that will be updated next reupload along with the shiny Gothita line. I hope you're able to find a solution to the Joiplay issues, sorry I wasn't able to help. -
Happy birthday, Setsuna!

In addition to Setsuna, it's also the birthday of Rikako Aida, the voice actress of Riko! -
Back in December I posted a list of planned team changes for characters when Gen 8 would be added to Spork. With next reupload's Gen 8 additions handled, here's an updated list of team changes. It's similar to December's list, but there are some changes: The Gen 8 additions also include learnset updates for Pokemon that were added in the Isle of Armor DLC, as well as a move tutor with the new moves that I was able to add. Kubfu, Urshifu, G-Slowpoke, and G-Slowbro aren't in the next reupload due to following Rejuv's schedule, but will be in a future reupload, and the same applies to Crown Tundra's DLC Pokemon. I've already planned out location and event details for most of them in advance. I also mentioned in an earlier announcement that I was saving extra dialogue for if the player's parents are chefs for the Applin sidequest, but later I realized that since Applin has split evolutions, it would be better as a wild encounter than a one-time event. Instead, Applin will be encounterable in the Forest of Feeling, and the extra parents are chefs dialogue will occur when talking to Draga after getting through the Cave of Resolve. PLANET AMITY There are two other Pokemon who'll be making their debut in Spork next reupload! Following the Smoothie/Meloetta quest in the postgame, a group of Meltan and Melmetal who build planets got into contact with Agne. Planet Amity is a lot like the planet the player is from in Spork, and is designed with a "second home" feel in mind. I've been having a lot of fun creating it and making it a lively place! Pokemon from the player's planet, planet Disco, and planet Coral have all come to visit Amity! CAROL'S CANDYLAND CASTLE Alcremie and being battled in doubles aren't the only updates Carol's received for the next reupload. Her gym's also been completely redesigned! I felt like the original one was sort of rushed and had the idea to make it like the Candy Land board game. Steffi even made custom tiles for it like the ones in the above screenshots! For most announcements I show the next reupload's new/custom shiny, but I felt like it wasn't time to do so yet and will probably show them when the reupload is ready. But I will mention that next reupload's custom shinies are the Gothita line! They were suggested by Steffi, with a color scheme suggested by Palletite, not long after World Goth Day, which was May 23! I do have another graphic I can and would like to show now though, a Team Portal PC box made by Steffi! This PC box replaces the Team Rocket one from default Essentials, which uses the HGSS PC boxes.

Attract and Cute Charm were made to work on all Pokemon regardless of gender unless they have an immunity to infatuation like through the Oblivious ability, I thought I did the same with Captivate last reulpoad because I remembered that I forgot but I guess I forgot that I forgot to change it, will do so for next reupload edit: Captivate has now been updated for next reupload!

Thank you for your reports. That's interesting about the infinite weather abilities stopping in the second slot of double battles, unfortunately I'm not sure why it happens and wasn't able to fix the issues with Ally Switch or Aromatic Mist either. Aromatic Mist had the function code of Freeze-Dry, but even after fixing that, and even though the target is correctly set to the user's ally in moves.txt, for some reason the move raises the user's Special Defense instead of the ally's. For Ally Switch I got the same error, and all the data appears correct in moves.txt, so I'm not sure why it's happening and may remove Ally Switch from the game
