I did a playthrough of Spork up to where the map revamps currently go to and found small things along the way I thought to add along with a lot of issues to fix, and did full playthroughs of DDDL and Return to Dreamland as well. I actually thought of a few more updates than what's in the reupload, but towards the end I could feel myself running out of batteries from how much I did in such a short time, so those will be for the future. Thanks a lot to Palletite and Steffi for the Sushi overworld sprite! Previously, Sushi's overworld sprite was the red-eyed version of the Ghost Girl from Rejuvenation that appeared in Narcissa's Gym to take you back to the entrance. I had come up with a unique design for her on a character creator site back in 2020, and felt like now would be a good time for Sushi! I really like how Palletite incorporated parts of that design into the sprite and how it turned out! The reason I removed all references to the player and Emily's parents and the career choice for them is that I noticed I don't seem nearly as enthusiastic about it as the region choice. With the region choices, I regularly think of more scenes to add extra dialogue to if the player is from certain regions, whereas I only did that once with the parents' career choice, and rarely ever think about it as a detail. I've had different ideas throughout all of Spork's development involving the player's parents (at one point, it was planned to see them in the postgame), none of which I've stuck with or felt fully confident in. As for the scenes that the parents' career choice did add dialogue to, that extra dialogue is still there for existing save files that made the choice in previous reuploads. I don't want to discount the possibility of coming up with something else for the players' parents in the future, but for now that topic is a blank slate. It's only been exactly 2 weeks since the last reupload, but with playing through most of the game and all the updates and fixes, it feels like it's been longer! I'm happy with how much I was able to find during my playthrough and looking forward to the future! I hope all of you are too!
  2. Reuploaded Updates: -Iron Valiant -> Leafeon for Kayla's team -added text to the Mesprit statue at Forest of Feeling -misc. syntax updates Fixes: Can no longer walk through the doors at Castle Dedede
  3. Here's what I can imagine: Madame X: I doubt she has one, or if she does, it's probably not something she finds time to enjoy just for the sake of it anymore. We (aside from Jan and Zumi) don't know any more about Madame X than anyone else, but I get the impression she's one of those people that's hyper-driven to one specific goal and any other aspects of their personality, interests, preferences, etc. have been put aside. Zetta: I wonder if being a Solosis originally would influence what he likes. What if he has different food he likes and doesn't like depending on whether he's in Solosis or human form? Madelis: She'd probably put on a front to others about eating really expensive food, or what's considered high-class cuisine, but in reality would eat the same kinds of food as everyone else (could definitely see her drinking wine though) Geara: I'm imagining things like pizza and soda. He apparently also has strong opinions on alcoholic beverages. Neved: Since he's a bartender, I imagine he has some taste for alcohol, and since he's a sailor, maybe he'd like seafood. I think he'd put a lot of ice in his drinks too. Anastasia: Seems to like sweets. She considered Ren's salted caramel cupcake an acceptable price for help, and if you speak to her at Rejuvenation Co. as Ren while teamed up, she asks you about ice cream flavors. Cassandra: Madelis but it's not a front. I know Jan already answered this one, but here's some other fun facts: Keta and Saki are named after two of Jan's friends. Melia is named after a character from Xenoblade. Madame X is named after an episode of the Pokemon anime where a Malamar brainwashed an Officer Jenny. I'm not completely confident in my memory here, but I think Nastasia is from the Paper Mario character? I'm doing good! How are you? Collectors question: Reina likes to collect paranormal, occult, and similar themed stuff! Her room has a small collection. Music question: Not sure for specific artists, but here's what I can imagine for genres: Rock: Venam, Amber, Ren, Vivian, Adam, Ryland, Aevis Classical: Anju, Kreiss, Piano Lady, Narcissa, Crescent, Aevia Pop: Madelis, Patty, Ariana Nu-metal: Geara Metal: Young Professor Jenner, young Chasity, young Matthew, Damien, Alain Rap: Dylan Is emo a music genre, or more of an aesthetic? If not, dark ambient music?: Particia, Crescent, Spector, M2, Eizen Disco: Rorim B Video game music: Erick, Saki, Dr. Jenkel, Axel (with the latter two I have in mind Megalovania specifically) Electronic: V, Volta Jazz: Kieran Will listen to pretty much anything: Aero, Melia, Erin, Tesla Crescent's on there twice because the theme that plays when she's on screen is a piano song, but definitely gives dark ambience aesthetic-wise I think Risa would pretend to be into electronic and pop music for her public persona, but really be more into down-to-earth stuff I have trouble thinking of a genre name for the kind of music I think Talon would like, but I think it'd be soft atmospheric music 1. Popplio. Not for any specific viability reasons in Rejuvenation, Popplio is just my favorite starter in Pokemon overall 2. I don't know if I could choose just one from these, but my top 3 are definitely Ampharos, Mismagius, and Froslass. The latter two are probably obvious since they're witches and I'm an ice cream sand witch, and Ampharos has always been one of my favorite Pokemon! From my understanding, Admins are higher than Executives; I remember Cassandra saying something to that effect. As for the Mages, I believe they're considered more capable than the grunts and probably given higher-risk missions, but I don't know if they'd have any authority in the chain of command. I think Death Wings are like the highest-level lower ranks (like Meteor Aces from Reborn), since they take orders from Executives. Mine is Aevia! For the past couple months, I keep waking up a few times during the night. I only remember one full night of uninterrupted sleep since around early March. I take a nap every afternoon that can go up to an hour+ (I always have, not just because of recent sleep issues) so I'm able to somewhat make up for it, but I'd still like to be able to sleep all the way through the night again. I have no idea what caused it. But I'm always good at eating and staying hydrated!
  4. There's a few questions I saw in the thread that I felt like I could answer, but I'll just do this one for now since I'm having some trouble with multiquoting and I had a lot of fun thinking about this one. Here's what I imagine for some of them. To start with, Saki and Erick seem like fans of video games in general. Pick a genre and they've probably played something from it. (Also, Erick has a Sonic wig) I think Anastasia might be in this category too, but I'm not as sure IIRC we've seen Venam, Amber, Erick, and Melia play games with the character, so they have at least some experience with multiplayer games We've seen Geara play games in the Xen Lounge (they look like arcade games IIRC)? I think he'd play action-based games, which matches up with a lot of arcade games Based on Erin liking books and not being too interested in battling, I think she'd play games that focus more on story Rorim B: DDR Melanie would play games where you get to choose to be a villain, would always pick the meanest dialogue options, and I think she'd hack the games to give herself the best equipment Texen: shooting and fighting games Talon would probably like games that focus on adventure/exploration, since he likes to draw maps and travel Any of the music characters (like Venam and Amber) would probably like rhythm games I think Dr. Jenkel would like Undertale & Deltarune for the silly parts and memes I could see Huey playing Splatoon. It's fun to imagine the B Team playing Splatoon together Speaking of the B Team, Lavender has Hookshots in her Nightmare Realm and quotes Purah's "Check it" I'd personally associate Lavender with more chill games if any, but that seems like something to take into account I think Professor Jenner was probably more of a gamer when he was younger, but as he got older they'd mainly be a way to spend time with Melia If we use video game playstyles as a metaphor for the direction Melia's life went in, she wanted to just play games as a fun casual hobby but the world forced her to be serious These are all the characters I was able to think of games for, I hope I did a good job answering your question!
  5. Reuploaded Spork Updates: -custom shiny Plusle and Minun -There's now an option to be from Paldea (Mesagoza) at the Tourist Info Center, and also a subsequent option to have studied at either Naranja Academy or Uva Academy. Tomas also has extra dialogue just before the Gym battle for both academy options -added Paldea Lass trainer class, Paldea section to Battle Factory, and Paldea Lass Ayumu. Paldea Lass trainer sprite is a sprite of Juliana made by mid117 -added Gen 9 Pokemon eggs (got from the Reborn AllGen Mod, and originally from Pokefarm Q) -trainers in Gyms now have new dialogue after you've beaten the Gym Leader, and more new dialogue after you've become Champion as well. Specifically: Jim, Ashley, Gina, Aretha, Wendy, Tomas, and Alumia's Gyms. Other Gyms either don't have trainers, I like their dialogue as-is, or their Gyms are pending map revamps. Bug Fixes: -one of the scientists in Tomas's Gym no longer battles you on the after puzzle map even if you already battled him on the before puzzle map -the other scientist in Tomas's Gym no longer has a different skin tone on the after puzzle map than he does on the before puzzle map This was the first time in a while that I've done any spriting on my own! I made the shiny Plusle and Minun (with shading assistance from Steffi), and the outfit for the Paldea Lass overworld sprite (Steffi added the hat and darkened the hair). As mentioned in the reupload that added Gen 9 Pokemon last year, everything involving Paldea Lasses and an option to be from Paldea was on hold because Paldea is the first region to not have the Lass trainer class. I decided to use a trainer sprite of Juliana since it was the closest I could find/think of. The shiny Plusle and Minun are based on Little Twin Stars from Sanrio: While Lala (left) is closer to Plusle's colors and Kiki (right) is closer to Minun's colors, they were switched around for the shinies to distinguish them more from the regular colors, which Steffi had the idea for. I hope the sprites turned out okay! There were a few challenges with the shinies and the Paldea Lass overworld sprites. For the shinies, most art of Little Twin Stars only has 1 or 2 shades for the robes and hair, so I used plushies for reference. For the Paldea Lass overworld sprite, it took a while to settle on what sprite to use as a base; it was basically a choice between sprites that already have a hat or sprites that match the hair better. But I'm happy with how everything turned out (especially considering I don't even remember the last time I did any spriting on my own), and I'm grateful for Steffi's assistance and advice!
  6. All I do is Lin but change the L to a W Gardevoir gossiped and I'm here to prove the rumors true So before they throw Shade, here's some ilLumination Of how I blew up overnight like a train station Magic once in a Blue Moon, Ice Cream Sand Witch It's not a Glitch when the field changes like a beat switch And my enemies switched like Charlotte: no longer want smoke I was slept on in Agate, but my mono is woke When I believed Anna's visions, they thought I was delirious Now I Eclipsed Team Meteor and they know I'm Sirius My Arc ended with light, I became a hero I Aced every test even when my odds were Zero In order I'll describe my bling, starting with the Ruby Ring Seal of pain, someone lost an eye for it And two others had to die for it Sapphire Bracelets, seal of love stories that didn't last One couldn't hold water, the other took a Fire Blast Emerald Brooch, seal of faith, granted eyesight But he was still blind to the truth clear as daylight Amethyst Pendant, the seal beyond the timeline But her dreams made her sick, the universe drew a fine line Is it really shocking that we all needed therapy? Too bad the doctor's two-faced like a Cherubi But nothing stopped our PULSE, we persevered with grace Came out of our Shelly, made the world a better place When I bought my ticket here it came with a free warn But what once felt like Never After is now A City, Reborn
  7. Glad you were able to find it! In regards to pointers, Crolea does mention to go there next.
  8. Reuploaded Spork: -new custom shiny Oshawott line made by Steffi -updated TM learnsets, level up learnsets, and egg moves for Pokemon from previous gens that were added to SV in the Indigo Disk DLC -For Kayla's team, Volcarona has been changed to Iron Valiant (nickname Robo-Fortune) -replacing the removed direction fix, the grass rustle animation is now over the player's head in Complex Apartments -a notepad file listing all the item gifts for starter options has been added Bug Fixes: -the backsprites of the Galar starter Megas and Kanto starter G-Megas are now properly named, so they'll appear in battle when using them -the evomethodsandotherchanges notepad file now mentions that Dipplin evolves into Hydrapple with another Syrupy Apple -the apple vendor now sells Syrupy Apples at the Battle Mall; previously they only sold them at the Forest of Feeling I mentioned in November's reupload post that updating learnsets for older Pokemon for new gens or DLCs takes more out of me each time. With the Teal Mask DLC, I did them in advance of adding them, but here, I did them the reupload after. I'm not sure why it takes more of a toll than it used to, but fortunately it's not something I think I'll have to worry about again for a while. I don't remember PLA being too much with adding learnsets, so if Legends Z-A is similar in that regard, it might not be too taxing. And even if it does change more than PLA, it's not coming out until next year. The shiny Oshawott line resembles CJ from Animal Crossing! Since Spork's shiny Durant is based on Flick, and Flick and CJ are partners, I thought it'd be neat to have a shiny based on CJ too! The resemblance continues all the way up the line to regular Samurott, but if you evolve Dewott into H-Samurott, it's based on CJ's dad Chip! Thanks to Steffi for the sprites, and also the idea for H-Samurott to look like Chip! The last part of this post is related to the forum club rather than the game directly: a lot of images were recently showing as broken image links, mainly in this thread and the Spork Art Thread. I remember a while ago Imgur announced that they'd be removing older images that weren't linked to accounts. At first it didn't seem to be happening here, but then one day I noticed a lot of images not showing, and Steffi pointed it out as well. The past week I made an Imgur account to restore images, so most of the pictures from past reupload posts and the art thread should be displaying again!
  9. Reuploaded: -the battles with Pokemon named after Kirby characters in Delicia's Return to Dreamland (King Dedede, Meta Knight, Whispy Woods, Mr. Frosty, Chef Kawasaki, Phan Phan, and Fire Lion) now have sprites resembling those characters. Thanks to Steffi for the sprites! -For Kayla's team, Volcarona has been changed to Iron Valiant (nickname Robo-Fortune)
  10. Sorry for the late reply, I saw this post when I woke up and forgot to get back to it later. If nothing we've tried so far has worked, I can't think of any other ideas at the moment. Sorry for not being able to help, I think this is the first time this error has come up. I'll let you know if I think of anything else in the future.
  11. Yeah, you'll still have your save file since it's stored in a different place so it's safe to delete and redownload.
  12. They never visually move from their spot, but the quest variable progresses when you speak to them after having spoken to the Tinkaton.
  13. The last thing I can think of at the moment is if redownloading fixes it? IIRC there've been a few times where redownloading fixed errors, maybe some files didn't fully download.
  14. Here's my map file for the Fork in the Road. If you put this in the Data folder, replacing the Map127 file that's in there, does it load up? Map127.rxdata
  15. Sorry for the late reply, it was nighttime where I am when you made the thread. I'm happy to hear you love the story of Spork! There's currently no documentation within the game itself of the starter item gifts, but the next reupload will have a notepad file that lists all of them. I can also put all of them here in the thread. Kanto Johto Hoenn Sinnoh Unova Kalos Alola Galar Paldea
  16. Sorry for the late reply, it was nighttime for me for the past couple posts. I tried to find what I could about the error by searching online and only got 2 results. One was an error that was similar but not exactly the same (maybe just because it's a different Essentials version) and mentioned corrupted map data. The other one was a thread with the exact same error, but no one replied to it. Do you play on PC or Joiplay? I've heard of Joiplay having some issues with displaying maps or showing black space in parts of them.
  17. Do you remember the last things you were doing when you were playing before the error happened?
  18. I get the same error when loading up the save file, and opening in RPG Maker gives a different error message: My first thought is that both error messages mention "updateMap". Did you happen to update from a version with older maps recently?
  19. Here's your save file! When I loaded up, you were in Aliora City, so I saved there since it was outside the meadow already. Hopefully this helps, please let me know if it happens in the future! Game.rxdata
  20. This started happening a couple years ago, but I haven't been able to figure out what causes it because I haven't noticed anything in common with the save files of people who've gotten it and I didn't understand the error messages enough to figure it out. I also haven't gotten it myself. The detail of it happening in the grass is a good start! Maybe that knowledge will help find the cause and solution. If you send me your save file, I should be able to load up your game and save outside of Aliora Meadow for you to continue. Instructions if needed, this guide was written for Reborn but will work for Spork too: https://www.rebornevo.com/pr/save/ I'm currently getting ready to go somewhere in a couple hours, so it could be a few hours before I'm able to. I apologize in advance for the time. For future reference, bug reports would go in the bug reporting thread.
  21. I'm happy Spork is your favorite fangame! The reason the Galar fossils aren't in is because I feel bad for them. But since they don't exist in Spork, that means you can still have 100% dex completion since they're not counted! Also, there's a spoiler box at the top of the post, but when I try to click on it, there's nothing inside. Is there a glitch where the site isn't showing the contents, or was the spoiler box an accident?
  22. Hi! I wasn't confident I could script Dragon Cheer, so Dipplin evolves into Hydrapple with another Syrupy Apple. I realized that I forgot to note this in the notepad file a couple hours after the reupload so it's noted there for next reupload! Bloodmoon Ursaluna is a placeholder for now if you speak to Couragi at Crystal Caverns (you can get to where Couragi is immediately if you enter through Marvelous Marsh). When the next batch of map revamps is completed, Bloodmoon Ursaluna will be obtainable through a sidequest in a new map.
