I just have my one file. Once the game is complete and I've done everything I want to do, I'll make a second file with a different team using Froakie as my starter.

Aster & Eclipse during the last two battles felt insurmountable for me. I wondered if I was ever even going to get past them. It felt like wanting to be an astronaut, but math and science and basically anything logical are your weak areas, and you have the physical strength and motor coordination of an exhausted, sleep-deprived toddler who just ran 5 miles and is also feeling the crash of an energy drink. -
Yay update. Also finally beat Marianette Now to train my new Espurr.

For the Mareep: it used to be one badge, but the condition was changed to needing to visit a specific location. I think it was Goldenleaf, which is some time after the 3rd badge.

I've been past the level cap in Reborn since the first Team Meteor encounter at the factory, with a brief time between Julia and Florinia where I wasn't. I mostly disregard them

"I should be able to beat Marianette with my new, more efficient team." Attempt 1 Sends out Pangoro first. Forgot about Wigglytuff's Fairy Beam. "Oops." Attempt 2 Gets past Wigglytuff with Samurott, and tries to use Bulk Up + Vital Throw with Pangoro to take care of the rest. Tail Slap'd by Cinccino before I can do anything significant. Attempt 3 Porygon2's Uproar does massive damage. lol, well that didn't go as planned. I think I'll get everyone to 45 like Samurott and Granbull are.
