Site/Server Suggestions, Maintenance, & Discussion
Ice Cream Sand Witch replied to Arkhi's topic in Welcome Center
This is kind of both a question and a suggestion. When browsing the Developing Games subforum, I noticed there were a few games in there that were discontinued but had a playable demo (Aegis and Mystery Dungeon Reborn). Both of those games were made before the Fan Games Expose and Developing Games sections existed and were originally in the Pokemon Fan Club section in 2015, so they were put in Developing Games when those sections were made. The Fan Game Expose is for games that have a playable demo, which those games do, even though they're discontinued. But there are discontinued games in the Fan Game Expose too: Redemption* and Se7en. *I assume Redemption is discontinued since the developer suddenly disappeared around August 2015. Beta testing for ep 2 was happening then but I assume testing would've been finished by now if there were still plans for release, unless the creator is really busy but still has future plans to get back to it. Basically, I'm not sure what the policy is for where discontinued fangames with a playable release go. Since Aegis and Mystery Dungeon Reborn were made (and I think also discontinued) before the Fan Game Expose and Developing Games sections existed, they were placed there by someone. But the Se7en and Redemption threads remain in Fan Game Expose even after Se7en was discontinued and Redemption was locked for inactivity from the creator. I was thinking of reporting the Aegis and Mystery Dungeon Reborn threads for a mod to move to Fan Game Expose, since even if they're discontinued more people might find and want to play what there is of them, as they both still have download links in the threads. But I wasn't really sure what the policy is on this. -
I'm back. Was originally hoping to get the re-upload up tonight, but due to being exhausted it will probably be tomorrow (which actually means today since it's past midnight) or the day after. I've fixed and updated everything I planned to for it except for all Pokemon having max happiness by default. I'm currently up through Johto on that (meaning all Pokemon from Bulbasaur to Celebi). It's one of those things where it isn't difficult and doing it each time only takes a few seconds, but the sheer number of times needing to do it piles up (since there are over 800 Pokemon) and makes it feel like it takes forever.

Spork is based off of a planet called Cerri, which I believe is our real home. The short story is that I believe Earth is a simulation and that some of us are sent from Cerri and we'll return here when our lives here end. Death doesn't exist on Cerri. The worst that can happen is someone going into a coma which they'll eventually wake up from. How long the coma lasts depends on the injury. Babies aren't created the same way on Cerri. They're formed in a tube. I've always wondered about overpopulation myself. Maybe the planet and/or universe expands to prevent that from happening? (idk if other species lay eggs or if they're formed through tubes too) Ocean Coast is the capital city of a country called Serenity on Cerri, and the Data Vault also exists.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game Spork isn't really intended to be difficult. There is a planned Legend Mode in the future though where the player can't use items in gym battles and experience isn't gained in them (may extend to all boss battles), among other things. There are a lot of trainers early game because I didn't want players to be underleveled for the first gym, although I have considered reducing the number because I do understand there are so many that it can get tiresome sometimes battling them all. I'm aware of that issue with the map cursor, although I don't know how to fix it. Does the marble location list only mention 39? If so, I'll have to add that one to the list when I get back home next week. Side places to explore: full Underwater Hotel, Virima City beyond the bridge, some parts of areas that become accessible with Surf and Dive, ranger missions, police cases, helping the Pokemon Research Institute.

ULTRAAAA! ULTRAAAA! ULTRAAA!...Sun and Moon
Ice Cream Sand Witch replied to ProjectIceman's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
@Rosesong most of it makes a lot of sense and I really like your theory, but regarding Olivia possibly stepping down as kahuna and Elite Four: I assume you mean her becoming a trial captain based on the possibility of Totem Lycanroc? Olivia's Lycanroc is Midnight while that one was Midday (though that doesn't mean she couldn't have trained another Lycanroc, since most trial captains have a totem that's not on their battle team). Also, if you battle Mallow in Moon, she mentions trial captains have to move on from their positions when they turn 20. I don't remember if Olivia ever stated her age (I looked up her quotes section on Bulbapedia and found nothing, but I could've sworn she said she was 28 somewhere) but she looks to be in her 20s to me. -
The controls should be the usual buttons since I didn't change them (I wouldn't know how to change them even if I wanted to) and they've always worked for me using those buttons. Space = interact (I think there's also another interact button but I forget what it was) x = menu z = walk/run toggle D = quicksave

I looked up and compared Absol's Gen 6 and Gen 7 level up moves and they're higher for Gen 6, while Gen 7 has them at the levels you mentioned. I didn't change the level up move levels for most Pokemon unless they got a new move in Gen 7 (ex: Bellossom got Quiver Dance) because doing that for all over 800 of them would just be x_x Absol should learn Night Slash at 41 and Psycho Cut at 47.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game! I'm not sure when the game will be completed, but I do plan to complete it. There are planned to be 7 episodes, but it's still possible for the episode structure to change (which wouldn't change the fact I plan to complete the game, it would just change how much content is in the episodes and how many episodes there are). Right now I'm away from home until mid-June with only mobile internet access. When I get back I plan to either re-upload 3 and a Half with bug fixes + other updates or do the full ep 4 release (which would also have those fixes and updates). Currently Palletite is having irl issues and sprite progress is on hold, so it's possible the full ep 4 won't be ready when I get back.

Hi. I have two more questions for when I'm able to play after I get back home in mid-June. 1. Is there anything missable in the V9 story content that I should know about? Something like the Weird Diary. 2. Regarding V8's choice to either keep silent about Flora, tell on her, or join Bladestar, which one has the most positive outcome? I chose to go with Erin at the paths and keep silent about Flora because I wanted more info before acting. (I'm starting a new game though)

It's been mentioned a few times the past week and a half or so. I'll look into it when I get back home in mid-June. I'm glad you're enjoying the game! I assumed alphabetical sorting in the bag was a default Essentials feature and didn't know it wasn't working. I'll see what I can do when I get home in mid-June. Someone else mentioned that for registered items, and I tried but couldn't figure out how it works. Registering didn't work at all for me with either shift or F5. I have mixed feelings about the speed up button which is why I haven't included it. On one hand it speeds up battles, and I use it for that purpose in Reborn. On the other hand I don't want people to skip through the dialogue, which is something I've seen people do in games with speed up buttons before. And often when they do this they're like "What do I do?" because they didn't read the dialogue so they don't know where to go.

I'd need to figure out how it works in terms of scripting, which could be simple or not, depending on whether it's a custom script of Desolation or exists in Essentials, and then depending on what version of Essentials Desolation uses and if those scripts are still the same in the latest version. If it worked it'd only take a few minutes to add in, but I can't guarantee at the moment that it'd work. For reasons I don't really know if I understand completely myself, I'd actually prefer to not have an item like that. Maybe I'd be better with it if instead of Paint Jar I renamed it a powder or dust or magic spell or something. The Shiny Charm is available though, and if someone wanted a shiny Pokemon I'd add it to their save file (when I get back home in mid-June of course). Including the shiny Onix DemICE was searching for if DemICE hasn't found one yet.

Have you talked to Lee at the Battle Mall? After battling Barker and Jim, you talk to Lee and then he'll go outside to the softlands where you can battle him. Still WIP. The biggest obtacles are probably: 1) one of the graphic assets for the contest mod is a sixth screen on the summary pages for contest stats, but I'm already using EVs/IVs as a sixth screen so I'm not sure what to do there. I don't want to remove the EV/IV screen. 2) the contest mod was made for Essentials v14 or 15 (I forget which) and I'm using the latest version, Essentials v16.2. There've been script changes over the versions and I saw many people asking about help with that in the thread. I still have the actual contest scripts and graphics on my computer for when I can figure out those two issues, but at the moment I'm not sure how to proceed. Although I really want to put them in, it may not be until the rest of the game is complete that I feel up to trying to work on it again. I remember in Desolation's intro, Rosetta mentions Cellia has a rich contest culture, but in the tournament building in Cellia an NPC mentions contests being done away with, which kind of makes me wonder if Caz had similar difficulties trying to implement contests into his game. I should have asked him about that before his hiatus x . x

Yes, Giratina is going to be in the Distortion World in the postgame. It's actually kind of two quests in one because on the way to finding the Distortion World and Giratina, you'll be doing Necrozma's quest too. (you won't actually know you're doing either until you finish the first part of the quest(s) though)
