  1. I remember someone posting a link to a Tumblr post where Ame said the ages of the rivals a few months ago. I think Cain and Fern were both 16? and I don't remember how old Victoria is, but I think older than them.
  2. Since I finished all the TV and trash bin events for episode 1, added a Marble (Marble location list updated with this), changed episode 2's teaser for reasons that will be explained, and fixed a lot of bugs, I decided to upload a 1.6.3 version. This will be the last re-upload of 1.6, so from here on out I'm fully focusing on episode 2. All the TVs and trash bins have their own dialogue when interacted with, and so do the computers in the rooms of the hotel. In addition to the Gym Leader interviews, some other info that can be found from episode 1's TVs include: "History of Mt. Comet", "Beginning of the Ceolis League", "Founding of the Gentleman's Club", and "Birth, Destruction, and Rebirth of Aliora". There's also of course puns of TV shows and movies. The teaser for episode 2 was changed because while it was intended to build suspense, I realized it could give the impression that someone might die depending on how it's interpreted. Death literally doesn't exist in the Spork world. The scene that teaser is for hasn't changed, but of course the context isn't there since it's a teaser. For those who've finished episode 1, here's the new teaser: BUG FIXES: -Not really a bug, but Zubat's location has been added to the obtainability list. I didn't realize I forgot to add Zubat's location to the list until some time after the second re-upload of 1.6. -Wynaut and Wobbuffet now learn Counter by level up. -Sticky Web no longer causes an error message or skips the player's turn. -VS sprites with the BW2 protagonists and Hugh no longer appear when battling Cherry -There's no longer an opening between trees in the Western Waterway that allows the player to go straight to Gellene without meeting Draga -Similarly, there's no longer an opening between street lights in Wonky Woods that allows the player to skip the meeting with Agne -This is probably something that's been fixed since the original release of 1.6 that I'm just now noticing from watching Sr. F's playthrough, but female Meowstic now seem to have their proper level-up moves instead of the male Meowstic level-up moves -You can no longer walk through the bushes in Cianosa City, the black space in the rooms of the Training Center, cliffs and trees in the Forest of Feeling, walls of houses, the wall of the BCC Building's first floor, the wall tile to the left of the blackboard in the Trainer's School, the Pokemart in Aliora City, the small trees in the Forest Opening, or the couch in the Rap Battle House. Also, the PC in the Trainer's School can now be used by the player.
  3. People thought Ghost might become super effective on Fairy because doing so would complete a triangle with the starters' secondary types, since Fairy > Dark and Dark > Ghost. (although Incineroar's Fire typing cancels out Dark's Fairy weakness) This was done in Gen 6 and in Gen 4. I'm actually glad it wasn't changed, since Gen 6 introduced a new type + some changes in Steel no longer resisting Ghost and Dark. So I'd rather the type chart stay where it is for now instead of having to adjust again for a new gen.
  4. Maybe I'd link myself from 2011 the Reborn website so I could take on the PO league when it was still active.
  5. This debunks the idea that Ghost would become super effective against Fairy in SM. Primarina's z move looks amazing.
  6. Charlotte: You're singing at a time like this? Cain: Yep! Charlotte: You're a regular Disney princess, aren't you? Cain: Someday my prince will come and sweep me away! Charlotte, dear, be my prince?! Charlotte: That's...Yeah, as if.
  7. Hi, welcome to Reborn. You're the user who made the suggestion of having Holiday Pokemon exclusive areas in Spork Here's an ice cream sandwich as thanks + welcoming gift.
  8. Yes, that's the start of the E15 story. (Terra was end of E14 story)
  9. I actually found it twice. The first time I just either didn't remember or didn't pay much attention to the name. First was on TV Tropes in very early 2014, where I saw the page for it. I looked at it but was turned off by something, but I can't remember what turned me off now. Then I found it again in December 2014 when looking at a "Fangames you should play" list. I'd already played most of the games it recommended and I think Reborn was the only one I hadn't. There are two details I remembered from the TV Tropes page that when I saw in game I was like "Hey, this is that one game from that one page I saw half a year ago!" The villain boss attacking people with his Garchomp, and the Fairy leader not identifying as male or female.
  10. I think all of them have name connections, some are just more noticeable than others. Julia - joule. Aya - is a combo with Cain. A poison called iocane from The Princess Bride. Serra - sierra. Noel - I think it's just supposed to sound close to normal. Radomus - Nostradomus Samson - strong person from Bible Amaria - mar is Spanish for sea Not sure about Adrienn Source where I learned some of this. (Kuro's post in there is one of my favorite posts on the whole forum btw)
  11. This was something I accidentally did in the original release of 1.6. The day after 1.6 was originally uploaded, I re-uploaded 1.6 to the OP with some trees removed allowing the player to reach it.
  12. Was wondering if someone who knows all the game text and events and such could answer a question. (contains some spoilers)
  13. Terra is the only one where I don't see the connection between appearance and type. But like Zumi said, it happens with the official series too.
  14. They'll be working in the nightclub with Arclight making some ultra beats.
  15. Edgy is a term that I've seen used so many times that I'm not even sure what it's supposed to mean anymore, or if the people who use it even know what it means. Same with "ironic". I've seen people use ironic in so many different ways, some that are the opposite of other peoples' uses of it. I used to think edgy meant "darkness for the sake of darkness". But I've also seen it used for people addressing controversial topics. I've even seen games and movies called edgy for having characters who aren't straight. I don't think Reborn is dark just for the sake of it, if that's what it means. Many events from Reborn that would be considered dark actually happened to the people from the online league. Corey really did jump off a bridge. Kiki did have a terminal illness. Amaria didn't jump down a waterfall as far as I know, but she did have memory loss after a car accident. Sigmund really did use electroconvulsive therapy. Team Meteor aren't based on real people (aside from Lin), but you could say the region and plot was made to have some dark themes because some of the league itself had dark times. I also agree with Timber_Dragon that it gets less like that as the game goes on. There are always surprises to keep the in-game us on our toes, but we've been solving many of the issues in the region, most notably cleaning out all the polluted water. I'm normally not a fan of darkness at all, since I actually don't believe Earth is real and the planet that's our actual home doesn't have things like death or torture. (closest equivalent to death at home would be going into a coma, which the person would wake up from, how long the coma lasts depending on the type of injury) If the only aspect fangames like Reborn offered were a dark storyline, I wouldn't be playing them. Reborn also has interesting mechanics like field effects, the region itself is very well-done, there are lots of bonus areas to explore and sidequests to do, etc.
  16. I'm not a mod, but I feel like if someone doesn't say this, it's going to keep happening since it's happened twice so far. Opal specifically asked which officially released Pokemon are your favorites. This means ones shown through CoroCoro or videos uploaded by the Pokemon channel. Ones that we only know through datamining and people playing the game before release date haven't been officially released, and there are people trying to avoid knowing about datamined info, which is why it isn't supposed to leave this thread. I apologize if that came off as hostile, and I'm sure no one meant any harm, but info that hasn't been officially given to us by Pokemon isn't supposed to be discussed outside of the thread linked above. With that being said, Primarina, Mimikyu, Alolan Ninetales, Type: Null and Silvally, Rockruff and Lycanroc Midday, Steenee, Alolan Raichu, Ribombee, Tapu Lele, and Pyukumuku.
  17. Aces don't know how much longer it'll be until community release any more than non-aces do. It's been said by Ame that it's impossible to measure how far along alpha and beta testing are because there's no telling how many bugs players will run into. This was given as the reason for not having progress bars for testing when someone asked in the status discussion thread if those would be added. (although if there was a way to measure progress, I think we wouldn't be allowed to tell you, since any beta-related discussion isn't supposed to leave the ace forum)
