  1. Most will need a 2nd person huh? Hm. Time to start searching around the entire region to see if anything opened up. I have ideas...
  2. I've seen a LOT of these doors around the game. Underground Railnet, Apophyll Cave, the Bysbyxion Wasteland...They're freaking EVERYWHERE(I'll try to make a note later where all the ones I know of are in a post or something). Legendaries seems like a half-decent bet, most likely post game content. That, or Mega Stones. Considering the fact that we have access to a decent amount of Pokemon that can Mega Evolve now(Gardevoir, Gengar, Camerupt, Mawile, ECT), it wouldn't be an unsafe guess to assume Mega Stones will be SOMEWHERE in the game, probably around the time that enemies are able to use them. I'm half assuming it'll be after the next gym, maybe two. Considering the fact that we have 6 gyms left(Water, Fairy, Flying, Rock, Steel, and Dragon), I'd hazard a guess that at least one of them is going to have a Mega Evolution on their team.
  3. Nintendo Direct happens, and now I'm worried for IntSys. Please let me be wrong..

  4. Gymnasium Field "Put your back into it!" Pokemon with the following abilities will lose 1(One) stage of speed upon entering the field: Klutz, Thick Fat, Own Tempo, Gluttony Pokemon with the following abilities will gain 1(one) stage of speed upon entering the field: Hustle, Pure Power, Huge Power, Vital Spirit. The following moves gain a 1.5x increase in power: Rock Climb, Hyper Voice, Echoing Voice, Boomburst, Belch, Strength The following moves will suffer a 0.7x decrease in power: Hyper Beam, Frenzy Plant, Rock Wrecker, Hydro Cannon, Blast Burn. Moves with a recharge turn cause the user to suffer a decrease of a random stat by one stage during the recharge. Rest now causes a 4 turn sleep, and restores 75% of the users HP. Slack Off restores only 25% of the users HP. Nature Power becomes Rock Climb. Secret Power has a chance to lower the target's Attack. Camouflage changes the users type to Fighting. Figured I may as well add my idea here. Gym class is tough, so you'd best be prepared. No slacking!
  5. As much as you don't NEED a sweeper/supporter, having one is never a bad idea. One that has impressed me throughout my runthrough is Dusclops. Even without the aid of Eviolite, this thing just does not DIE. If you're into breeding, you can pass down Pain Split via Misdreavous, Solosis line, and a couple other things. Trick Room also makes it even WORSE. My recommendation for a set is as thus Trick Room Pain Split Will O Wisp Ghost STAB(Shadow Ball/Shadow Sneak) It sets up Trick Room, burns things, and then laughs as you get your HP back from the next hapless victim to walk into your clutches.
  6. If you want my personal opinion, Mudkip is definitely one of the better choices, as Water/Ground is a great STAB combo once you get it to a Swampert. Be wary though as you won't get your physical moves until a bit later. If you want something that won't have much type coverage without TMs, Cyndaquil is a fairly good choice as Tyhplosion hits fast and fairly hard. Other than that really, any starter is fine, so long as you're willing to take a couple risks with the Pokemon you train throughout the game. Don't be afraid to experiment!
  7. Hopefully going to get the job

  8. Yikes! Closest I came was managing to take down Yveltal and Garchomp. Yveltal fell to Curse + Substitute from a Cofagrigus, and I poison stalled the Garchomp thanks to Poison Touch on Toxicroak. I didn't think it could be done. Well done!

  10. Weezing and Flygon were high on my list of "Maybes". Lots of good moves there, and relatively easy to train. Also Weezing just laughs at physical attacks so.. Yeah, I have Gardevoir on my team already. Estelle is a freaking POWERHOUSE. Ludicolo wasn't something I really thought of. I'll have to look into Ep 12 breeding...hoo boy that's gonna be a lot of time investment. Time to do research! Thank you both~
  11. Right, so in preparation for Episode 15, I've been trying to get as many Pokemon as I can for my reserves. I'm probably gonna be sticking with my 2nd playthrough file, which means I need Fighting and Ground resists. For those wondering, the main 6 are thus Typhlosion Metagross Golem Gardevoir Scrafty Vaporeon I don't have much in reserves currently, but what I do have is Clefable, Lucario, and Ninetails. As you can see, I kind of get vehemently destroyed by Ground(lord knows I got lucky against Terra). Any tips on things to pick up to patch up my weaknesses?
  12. You know, given the fact that the Story bar is actually filling up now, a question about said story popped into my head. Do you guys have the entire thing laid out, and know exactly where you're going? Or is it sort of a rough plan, and tweaks are made here and there depending on how everyone likes it?
  13. So I come into this topic not having experienced any of the previous episodes before 14. I know nothing of nerfs, buffs, ect. For me, on my very first playthrough, the hardest gym was Shade. I came in super unprepared apparently, and there were about ten runs where his Gengar alone beat the tar out of me. I had to grind a lot, catch a Duskull, train it into a Dusclops, do the Scrafty event, and generally grind for a very long time before I beat him. By contrast, on my second playthrough, I caught a Makuhita who by that time was a Hariyama who literally just stomped all over Shade because lol Knock Off. Hardest on 2nd was DEFINITELY Shelly. Typhlosion or no, her team is deadly and her field effect makes her moves an absolute nightmare to deal with. In terms of easiest on each playthrough? First playthrough, since I started with Swampert and acquired a HA Bunnelby, Charlotte was an absolute joke. EQ spam is a lovely thing. On my 2nd playthrough, I'd have to say that of all people, Shade was the easiest, because of the aforementioned Hariyama. Turns out running pockets is the way to defeat ghosts or something.

  15. I'll be posting my 2nd playthrough team here, as it's probably gonna be the playthrough I stick with, despite not having some of the all-stars of the first playthrough(See Garbodor and Dusclops). Sol Badguy(Typhlosion): Starter Lv 72 Hidden Power Electric, Nature Power, Flame Charge, Flamethrower. Flash Fire Hawking(Metagross): Obtained via Wasteland event. Lv 73 Zen Headbutt, Meteor Mash, Agility, Hammer Arm Clear Body Estelle(Gardevoir): Obtained by saving Corrupted Pokeball Lv 72 Moonblast, Psychic, Calm Mind, Shadow Ball Synchronize Flavia(Scrafty): Obsidia Slums event Lv 72 Crunch, High Jump Kick, Head Smash, Strength Aganos(Golem): Underneath the Grand Stairway Lv 72 Earthquake, Stone Edge, Rock Smash, Stealth Rock March Hare(Vaporeon): Chryssolia Forest event Lv 72 Surf, Aurora Beam(When will Ice Beam return from the war?), Shadow Ball, Dive.
  16. Hoo boy, the time of Ep 15 approaches. Can't wait~ Judging by what Amethyst has said though, after Ep 15 is all released and thoroughly betaed, Episode 16 is going to be hell. RIP Amethyst's last remaining vestage of sanity.
  17. Mega Houndoom is solidly UU, as pretty much every tier below it, Mega Houndoom 2HKOs everything before a boost, and OHKOs most things with a Nasty Plot. Autumn also said that she'd try to make the Pokemon viable in OU in a team, just not building any RU/NU/UU/ect teams.
  18. Let's go with a Mega Sceptile/Rotom-W core, shall we? Nice and checking weaknesses and switch ins. Sceptile @ Sceptilite Ability: Overgrow EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Dragon Pulse - Giga Drain - Focus Blast - Substitute Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers Ability: Levitate EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD Bold Nature - Volt Switch - Hydro Pump - Will-O-Wisp - Pain Split If it helps, I generally prefer Balanced Offense for playstyle, hence my penchant for abusing Mega Lopunny normally, but wanting to build a Mega Sceptile team at some point.
  19. Excellent! Didn't want to get a warning because the images I used in my sig bugged out for some reason. One less thing to worry about. Thanks for the heads up~
  20. Yeah, I just tried to fix it myself, I hope that's better. It just borked today it looks like so hopefully it's fixed? If a mod is here right now, does it look right?
  21. So it occurs to me that whilst I have been lurking around here and the Showdown page for a little bit, I've never truly formally introduced myself, huh? Let's get on that then. I'm Nick, and I've been playing Pokemon pretty much since it came out. I'm a thoroughly competitive battler, mainly focusing on OU and Monotype, but wanting to branch out into other tiers, mostly UU and NU. Gen 3 is my favorite, with Gen 4 being a close second. I'm a generally friendly guy, so I hope to get along well with all of you! Outside of Pokemon, I play Magic: The Gathering quite avidly, mostly Limited Draft formats and EDH/Commander. For those who understand what this means, I run a Vorosh, The Hunter deck as well as a Krenko, Mob Boss deck. I look forward to all the fun times!
  22. I've noticed a couple people asking why I have not evolved my Dusclops. Simple answer: I think Dusclops is just better than Dusknoir. Sure I know where to get the Reaper Cloth, I just don't want to. Dusclops is an absolute powerhouse in terms of defensive bulk, and the Glitch field makes that massive special defense-oh wait the phys/special split is removed SO GHOST TYPES ARE PHYSICAL. DANGIT AME Y U DO DIS? But yeah, definitely holding out for the Eviolite. Pls Based Ame grace us with the pink lump
  23. Oh man, I had no idea this topic was going to explode as much as it did when I started it. I expected maybe a couple replies, but not this many! Many thanks guys! Anyways, moving on Another member of my team that I've really started to be impressed with lately is Requiem, my Dusclops. As most people know, Dusclops is STUPIDLY bulky, but doesn't have much offense to back it up, and usually runs some method of outlasting the opponent via Toxic or Will o Wisp. I run the latter, and with Hex, Requiem has been able to take out far more opponents than she should ever have been able too, including some of Shade's(I HATE YOU SHADE D<) devastating ghosts! And after beating Radomus, things got VERY interesting. Trick Room is surprisingly good for my team, with many of the slow threats I have, and what better thing to guarantee a trick room set up than Dusclops? It's pretty much guaranteed to survive one hit, and once it goes up, suddenly Requiem is the fastest thing alive and all fall before her sheer bulk.
