  1. I haven't felt like I had any real reason to respond lately, but I wanted to share that I'm on crutches just like Eva now and that makes me kinda happy in a weird way.
  2. Kai was the first to reach the creature, leaving the barrier behind. She leapt at it, eyeing a bolt and taking it in her strong jaws. She yanked back, her body whipping as a dog would while playing a tug-of-war game. She couldn't get the thing off, but she did loosen it some. She kept tearing at the thing's foot, blocking its entrance into the warehouse. She was quickly realizing her own strengths were less than she had originally imagined. Suddenly, the ground shook and the robot floated upwards, gravity shifting. She was yanked up, jaws still locked on the same bolt which was quickly eroding to her toxic saliva. She swung herself up, jaws still locked, so her legs gripped tightly to the leg of the robot. A few more jerks and she managed to get the bolt off, the foot falling to the ground and crashing. She couldn't take the thing down like this but she could slow it at least. Geo grunted and swung his leg over a ceiling beam and settled on it, straddling the beam and using his hands to draw himself forward slightly. He could just about reach the cords that wrapped together to feed the lighting system. After placing thick insulating gloves on his hands he held the little metal bits he'd been tinkering with and crushed them down into a single short rod-shape which he then wrapped in some rubber tubing he kept in his bag. He unplugged one of the overhead lights right near the wall, holding a hand up to the people below to let them know he was doing it on purpose. The warehouse remained bright nonetheless. He wrapped the wires inside around the metal bit, bending it into a hook of sorts. He pulled out his communicator and sent a message to any communicator nearby. "Can shock his system. Cover me and I'll get closer. -Geo" Channing looked up when the light went out, seeing the small Geo climbing around up there. He floated towards the boys who'd worked together to form the barriers. "What do we do? It looks like we can take it down but we have to work together. Let's see..." He saw the scientist scuttling towards the door, hunched over like a rat. He floated over and grabbed him, holding his arm above his head with his shoulder locked. He wrapped his other arm around the scientist and floated him up, grunting with the effort, and back to the barrier in front of everyone. "What is this?" He asked loudly but calmly. The scientist shook his head, skin white and sweat beading on his forehead. He, apparently, knew nothing as well.
  3. Please check HERE for the OOC chat, Sign-Ups, Character Refs, and Discussion! Backstory Starter: ((Purple will henceforth represent words from the Adults, order, missions, and other such official business.)) "Alright, first and foremost, we're pleased to have you all here, settled in and happy." The adult, dressed in a crisp, white lab coat over a blue button-up shirt and black slacks barely checked to ensure that the children below him were happy or not. That wasn't his concern. His real concern was in preparations. He looked out to the seas, spying a towering tree-fort one of the children had built. "I can see you've begun cultivating. We want you to know that you are all free to create your own spaces here. However, soon there will come a day when you must begin repaying the generosity in bringing you all here." There were a few scoffs among the crowd, but nonetheless the adult carried on. "You have been sponsored, every one of you, by the United Nations to form a peacekeeping group. Soon there will be a day when you are asked to use your powers for the good of all mankind. Some may be asked to rebuild zones struck by disaster, others may be asked to use their powers to put stops to conflicts. We hope you can hold up to our expectations." He stepped down from the small stage in HQ to a box of pamphlets on the ground. He looked around, and there was a glint in his eye, an excited sort of yearning. "If you could, please take one of these each and fill it out. It will include such information as your abilities and what jobs you'd be willing to do personally. That is all; once you've collected your forms you are dismissed." Kai crossed her arms over her chest throughout the little talk, chewing her lip. She was perturbed by the entire thing. Some group of old people decided they must be useful for something, and then shipped them to an island? Of course, she'd jumped at the opportunity to get out of Australia and the scared looks thrown her way each day, but that didn't mean she wanted to suddenly live on some island out in the middle of - literally - nowhere. At least it was warm. She worked her way to the box, snatching up one of the pages and jumping onto the stage to avoid the crowds. She felt deeply uncomfortable with this new environment. It wasn't home. She started scribbling out her responses, that she was a shapeshifter, that she honestly couldn't give a crap what missions she went on. Channing, however, was a sort of nervous excited. He liked the idea of helping others around the world, as terrified as he was of hurting others. His chest squeezed slightly as he floated forward, barely realizing he was off the ground at all. When he finally noticed, he took a deep breath to not panic and shifted his weight forward. It was hard to stay upwards, but he managed to move to a horizontal position and then completely vertical upside-down so he could easily reach down and scoop up a page. He scooted mid-air to sit on the stage and allowed himself a single shiver, rolling his spine like a bag of bones. He adjusted his tie and shuffled his hair from his eyes, putting himself back together as he did. Finally, he looked to the page. This thing was ludicrous. Was he willing to harm people to protect "World Peace?" Hell no. Geo, on the other hand, didn't give a crap either way. He was on the ground in a corner beside the stage, tinkering with some metal bits. He'd found the microphone and straight nicked it, breaking it down into little metal ingots, wires, and a hunk of plastic. Now he was breaking each bit down and constructing something new. Suddenly, a rocking shake filled the area, the large building that made up HQ standing up fine but still giving a groan. The entire room went pitch silent for moments, so every person inside could hear three loud, rumbling footsteps, and then there was a ripping sound, and a large robot-type being stood there, its knees visible but nothing more through the small doorway. The banging continued at a fever-pitch as it started tearing up the building. Kai was one of the first to react, tearing into a larger form, a lumbering Komodo Dragon. Her tongue lolled out as she started barreling through the crowd, aiming to tear the thing to shreds. Channing instead tasked himself with protection, floating between the door and the main group, back to the door, hands up slightly. "Guys, let's think this out first, that thing's pretty damn big..." "Y'all keep it down, I'm trying to wuh -" Geo cut himself off suddenly, his chest pounding. He was, however, one of the first to think of his powers in this sense. He found the ladder up to the higher level of the warehouse of HQ, his eyes on the support beams across the ceiling and the lights there. He had a plan.
  4. I'm sorry guys, I was in the hospital a few days since and I've been super busy with life since. I've got the post saved and nearly finished. Expect something tonight hopefully. I'm using school WiFi right now so it could be up within the next hour but probably not. EDIT: IC is a go!
  5. Yeah, it's perfectly fine to add characters later. @Everyone, I'll get the IC up soon as I can.
  6. Okay, quick check, who feels ready to go and like their characters are prepared? I'm going to catalogue all of the forms before we start the actual RP but I want to know that everyone is good first.
  7. Everything looks pretty great so far, as far as I can tell. Looks good, even though the reasoning is a tad superficial. Fear comes in many forms, and is valid no matter how shallow. Kai's definitely a bit in-progress. I'm gonna finish up my characters this run-through and see how things go. Looks good! @Everyone: After I finish up my characters I'll edit the first post and post up the IC so we can just get rolling. There will be a starter, of course, but other than that feel free to work the plot. Random events and missions will start later on after we get relationships and stuff fleshed out a bit. EDIT: Finished my characters. I recommend everyone update their characters when they get the chance during the RP itself, to make sure things stay up-to-date for referencing.
  8. Basically, to an extent, if your character would prefer to live alone they can work out their own home, but if they'd prefer something else they can do that too. Just not like "X owns the largest island and it's only their's, no one else's," or something crazy like "their island is built on a giant portal to the underworld." Just keep it chill. I personally think it's a good idea. I know my hardest moments as a person with slight social issues are when I accidentally say something stupid to someone that's truthful but it just doesn't fit right. @K_H, feel free to give commentary, but we don't want to confuse anyone into thinking you're making decisions, no offense. I'd like to keep the thread a bit clean so I can find and list the characters when they're done, y'know? And I've got a basic idea of what will work in the plot and what won't.
  9. It's in the main post, some live on different islands in the chain of the large HQ island, and others live together or on the big island. It's a choice thing. Missions are also explained briefly in the main post, where sometimes the adults will send short missions (save the city, put out a fire, catch the robber, etc.) just to give something for people to do.
  10. It's no problem. I'd much rather everyone be on the same page. Basically, the main island was build primarily by the people who set up the island (the adults) and each individual island was left to the person who decided to live on it, since the adults didn't anticipate people moving to the surrounding islands. Each person had to be ferried over by someone with powers, swim, or make/take a boat over. Some islands may be really advanced tech-wise, others might just be a beach with a shack or whatever. The tech overall available is modern, though high-speed internet and special communication devices exist on the island. The communicators have GPS, text/vocal communication, and a locator device in case the person goes MIA. As for what else is on the device, it's up to the Player for the most part, just nothing crazy like a laser beam. Oh, I forgot about communication. It's up to the individual how much their character interacts with others, but the characters need to interact on missions and when getting debriefs and stuff like that.
  11. I have to agree I think 2 is great. Of course I'm the kinda person who'd do all three.
  12. Pokemon SoulSilver Nuzlocke!! Player: Tyler Rival: Heiru Starter: Lucas the Chikorita This is an easier one, with the following rules: One Pokemon per area, excluding legendaries and events (Red Garados) and considering the "dupes rule," meaning if the pokemon is one I already have a species of I can ignore it and try again. All Pokemon must be nicknamed If a Pokemon faints it is dead and goes in the dead box but is not released. Play session 1, 2/9/15
  13. Sorry if it wasn't clear, but your character's greatest fear or least enjoyed trait or similar should be their power. As an example, she should dislike other people or fear their intentions or something similar to that. My character, Kai, has a fear of snakes but can shapeshift only into reptiles.
  14. Awesome! Here's a post where I'll work out my characters, too.
  15. Starting a new RP, "In Opposition." Please feel free to drop by the thread and see if you like the idea!
