The Last, Only, and Very Final X% Hype Thread
The Swordsman replied to Amethyst's topic in Reborn City
Oh OK that makes the scenario more balanced then. Yeah playing around with a "what if", as long as it stays that way, causes no harm. I think it comes down to one of two possibilities, the first one which was brought up thanks to Sword and Shield, is the theory that Game Freak is burned out on Pokemon. The other one which is something I noticed that might also apply here, is Ian Flynn the current writer for the Sonic comics when asked why he avoids fan ideas and projects said that he avoids them because they might influence his work and cause legal problems, which might be case here. -

While Reborn is more difficult then normal for Pokemon games and I get it is some of the appeal for some players, I don't think Ame will or should mess with E4 formula besides adding the filed effects. Ame has wonderfully made Reborn in such a way that unlike most fan games it actually fits the game's world, I doubt she throw that sense of legitimacy in the final hour just to make things more difficult. As for the idea itself I am really against the idea that you should be able to switch at all, not only is it one of the key features that makes the endgame of Pokemon stand out, it tempts the game designer into character select forcing (which I'm against on the very principal) and not all the Pokemon you used would be recognized in the Hall of Fame. As for the subject of healing, from the way you make it sound you would limit item use, which is not only a unfair restriction (as that has never been the case before) but also limits Pokemon selection and strategies. So far Reborn has been able to be completed without me having to switch my team, (even if that stubbornness has made things harder for me in the long run) I rather keep it that way. -

Not at all, I'm just saying that unlimited strength isn't the ultimate answer to everything. For instance Goku, like Shaggy and his team, needed Bulma. -

Shaggy isn't the brains in the operation, just the brawn like Goku, which is why he and Scobby are the ones that deal with the criminals and monsters psychically. We need Fred or Velma to actually solve the mystery. -
I feel conflicted about Episode 24, on one hand it includes my favorite story moments from Unova, (in fact Old Team Plasma vs, New Team Plasma is what solidified OTP as my favorite team) no pokemon died and Colress having a Mewtwo is surprisingly fitting consider Colress' goals. On the other hand the randomizer completely ruined Ghetsis' battle. Moving onward to Ep 25 I was not expecting Tyrniatar to not make it and poor Motely was so close to at least seeing victory road, it was also a surprise to see you not replace them until the end and sell off your rare candies. Time for the final episode! Can J-Awsome and his friends from Reborn pull off the championship?

Sorry my mistake, I forgot about it being a partner battle. Though in this case I'm happy that I am mistaken. Honestly the fact that you used Galahad after the battle while surfing should've clued me in.

Well sadly Galahad fell, at least he served you well.

Elias will indeed use normal types, though I suspect he would never use Sivally considering who he is. Other options might include Pyroar or Mega Audino if there is a religious theming to his team. -

However even without getting into the complexities of timeline theories this theory in particular is starting from a flawed premise. Lorewise (or at least so far) Reborn takes place within the normal Pokemon game verse, with other legendaries being mentioned or being the basis for guardians/AI built in their image. (Mewtwo, The Gen 5 duo) The reason Arceus gets Reborn specific lore unlike the others is that it serves as this game's cover legendary and unlike the rest hasn't been fully explored canonically like the others. (All we know about Arceus is that it is the God counterpart of the Pokemon world and that it had to recreate the universe to allow the Gen 2 protagonist to have a new member of the Creation Trio) -

While there were times I was pulling my hair as well, I never changed my team (besides replacing pokemon that were placeholders for the ones I wanted but weren't available yet) and most my team is composed of Pokemon the competitive community don't consider to be "good". Which is why I still consider the difficulty to be mostly fair. (the only black stain being the new PULSE2s and yes I do think the gauntlet is fair unlike the new PULSE2s despite the PULSE2s technically being easier) I honestly do not want the game to become so difficult you are forced to not use certain pokemon, just for the sake of being overly difficult. There is far more to this game then just the challenging difficulty and Dark Souls 2 went that route and its the black sheep of the Souls series. Besides we're all going to lose the luxury to switch out Pokemon come the Elite Four. -

Dawn (the donphan, ability: Sturdy) intercept that blast and counter with STONE EDGE! You're lucky I'm true to my word Gastronely, I seriously considered letting that blast hit you for that kissing joke. -

(Shows up with Aether Foundation personnel) Me: Lets just leave this to the professionals. (motions for AF personnel to examine Charizard, which they do quickly) AF member: Sir the Charizard is a completely healthy normal Charizard, it just has red contact lenses in its eyes. Me: ...What? (falls down anime style) (Charizard happily munches on another pikachu in the background) -
Indeed let them find absolution in Arceus' eyes and may Flygon find peace as well. I wish you luck with Angel, unfortunately for this kind of playthourgh half of my team consists of happiness evolving pokemon, which while strong, are sitting ducks until they evolve. Also its so weird for me to see the Ideals version of Opelucid City as I always went with the White version.

Well considering it can only make the basic pokemon noises in game before attacking I doubt it is. Well Pokemon Adventures did tend to be one of the more faithful adaptions unlike the anime, which could be the reason they seem so similar as Amethyst has done her best to insert Reborn into the world of the games and stick to it's rules. This really stands out to me as most people I've seen (heck even Hollywood with Detective Pikachu) tend to go with the anime. So I agree that is likely that this Mewtwo will not be the one from the anime and to be honest I will be extremely disappointed if it is. -
Its always sad to see a pokemon go, Altaria, while not one of my main favorites, was my favorite non legendary dragon pokemon. The randomizer also missed a golden opportunity to let us get justice on that child murdering Darkrai, oh well. Sorry for being late on the earler episodes, the fourm's email service didn't alert me till the double episode for some reason.

Well...that isn't too OOC for game!Mewtwo to do, it is a savage animal that thinks of nothing but combat after all. (Its a shame that besides Pokemon Origins, everyone ignores game!Mewtwo because it isn't sentient/sapient, whatever the correct wording is, like anime!Mewtwo.) -

Its OK, sadly I never did get as attached to Lucario like I did the other five (probably why I was never able to think of a nickname for it unlike it's replacement Artorais the Lycanroc) and it served J-Awesome_One well.

You can tag me, as I do want to want to watch the run, I just may not comment much. BW2 Is my favorite pokemon game, hopefully it will get a proper remake without any trouble, it'd suck if GF continues their nonsense past SWSH. I don't really like Hugh though, as he refuses to accept Old Team Plasma (my favorite team) is good now for the most part. Which is why I got a laugh out of what you chose Hugh's name to be this playthourgh.

I don't think Elias qualifies as he is one of the members that is on the lighter shade of black Team Meteor has going on, Blake on the other hand could qualify but we don't see much of him. IMO out of the other Team Meteor members not named Lin Sirius fits the bill pretty well, in some cases he is even worse than Fern. -

As you may or not know, (considering the DLC hasn't really been talked about as far as I can see) GF has backpedaled from their horrible decision to cut the old Pokemon out and is now slowly reintroducing them via DLC. Well thanks to datamineing Home (which is a whole other debacle in itself) we now may have a idea which pokemon are making the jump with this likely first wave of returning newcomers. If true it seems I might get Sword after all.

Thank you, the E18 Gauntlet was a little excessive.
