  1. Mightyena'a Ghost typing drops its Bug and Fighting weakness, two relatively common types. Base 125 Attack/Speed combined with Strong Jaw is crazy good. Like, unless you somehow set up before this monster comes into play, it'll likely not go down. Even to cover its one weakness, Fairy, Poison Fang can be bred onto it. This thing's a monster, don't get hung up on the typing. For the poll, I feel Staraptor and Milotic hold up just fine without the need for a mega. I'd be interested in how viable a mega Swagsire would be, likely on a similar plane as mega Swampert.
  2. Rock Polish is in the game. Personally, I'd love to see Scald, U-Turn, or Flash Cannon. Another NPC for some decent tutoring moves wouldn't be unwelcome either.
  3. I know your question is rhetorical, but I can provide some insight regardless. It sounds like you have "Stress Bumps", urticaria formations when the body is under prolonged periods of stress. Anxiety and stress activate your fight or flight response, and with that response come a wide variety of changes in your immune, endocrine, nervous, and cardiovascular systems that try to revert your body back to homeostasis via negative feedback loop. Prolonged activation of response can cause the systems to be overworked, your body releasing too much cortisol (stress hormone), which can ultimately result in strange things happening to the body, including hair loss, allergic reactions, mood swings, heart palpitations, fatigue, etc. That's a basic tl;dr of what's going on there. If you're experiencing urticaria from stress and stress alone, I'd recommend speaking with your doctor to try and bring your stress down to a more managable level.
  4. I like it Caz, I think the new intro sets the stage quite nicely for the drama to come about. Black Foxes being revealed in the first few moments before Team Crescent is interesting.. I'll have to play through again and see how that flows. Anyways guys, I'm having a hell of a time trying to track down the Tiny Key. Haven't a clue as to where it is. Any ideas on where I can pick it up? EDIT: Nevermind folks, my detective skills figured it out. For those looking like myself, you need to buy it from the vendor in the Jinx lab after you've expanded it twice. He'll sell you the key for 8 credits.
  5. Awesome, thanks for the quick replies guys. Gonna go get 'em now!
  6. I gotta ask, since I've definitely missed it. Where is this Pokemon dispenser? I've got some credits to burn and wouldn't mind getting a Feebas. With Milotic and Venusaur on the team, I'd have some decent bulk.
  7. Finished the current build tonight, and I've gotta say, I'm impressed. Very much so. For starters, there's many layers to this game. As you progress, you never seem to shake the looming feeling that there's powers at work beyond what you can do. Shiv and Nova appearing and disappearing seemingly on a whim certainly can cause a feeling of discomfort. Without ruining the story for anyone, I'll keep this post mainly about the gameplay. Well done. What more is there to say? The game is so well-paced that it encourages the player to do the side quests, explore the world, and receive rewards. Those rewards, as well, are very worth it. The battles in the game are very winnable, but still need a fair share of competency and strategy to pull off a win. The music in the game is fantastic and fits the atmosphere very well. I was especially a fan of exploring Blackview City with that track playing; it made for great exploration, which is a fundamental I hadn't known was missing from a Pokemon game, but with Deso, I couldn't progress through the story unless I had completed every side quest available. The game also doesn't force you to do those side missions to receive rewards to win the game: If you're not into exploration and side quests, you can progess normally through the game without issue. For a four badge build, there is a TON of content to do, and I couldn't recommend it enough. Once Caz refines his craft and more content is added, I believe Deso stands with Rejuv and Reborn easily. You made a great game Caz, keep up the hard work.
  8. Outside of sheer frustration on waiting for the proper nature to appear, I didn't have much of a reason of rolling with the Serious nature. I got a decent set of IV's and said to hell with it, but I'm gonna get the nature changed over at some point tonight. The only reason why I didn't roll Cofagrigus was type coverage. Chandelure is frail, that much is certain. Trial runs with the team have shown that in spades. I just wasn't sure how to maintain trick room without sacrificing too much for type coverage and, as Felix mentioned, it's lack of offensive power. Clefable, however, sounds like an extremely interesting choice. I honestly didn't even think to use Clefable, which is shocking considering the type coverage it can offer. Two Magic Guards on the team would be marvelous. Is there a method of learning Stealth Rock from a tutor in game? Or would it need to be bred onto the Pokemon?
  9. So, with a nice break in school, I've been bitten by the breeding bug once again. With Episode 16 slowly but surely making it's way to finalization, I've been messing around with teams and I'm looking for feedback on a TR team I've developed. It's not entirely complete, but I've had some decent success with it thus far. The team is as follows: Reuniclus (Sina): Serious Nature Psyshock Shadow Ball Recover Trick Room Vaporeon (Berlin): Bold Nature Aqua Ring Acid Armor Water Pulse Wish Chandelure (Brimstone): Modest Nature Flamethrower Shadow Ball Trick Room Will-O-Wisp Conkeldurr (Goon): Brave Nature Low Kick Rock Slide Bulk Up Superpower Dragalge (Hemlock): Modest Nature Hydro Pump Toxic Sludge Wave Dragon Pulse Torterra (Gaia): Adamant Nature Wood Hammer Earthquake Leech Seed Curse I find the survivability of all the Pokemon on this team is much higher than what I've been used to. Reuniclus is an absolute mad man, and a solid lead in just about any situation to get TR up. The problem being that this team isn't entirely ideal in single battles, but then again, not many TR teams are. I'm finding there's pretty decent type coverage here as well. As always, I'm open to criticism and/or thoughts on the team. Thanks for reading.
  10. Honchcrow, Braviary, and Hawlucha are all available and are great physical flying types. If you're in the market for another special attacker, and are very patient, Noivern would make a great addition to the team. Not so much for it's overall power, but for access to moves like Tailwind.
  11. Even if that were the case, the setup power Gyarados has with Dragon Dance/Waterfall spam can really take away from the game's dynamic setup. Gyarados has a decent movepool, but it's natural bulk and setup power would make it a staple on many teams. Not sure if that's what Amethyst wants, even in the late game.
  12. There's quite a few physical types that really surprised me when I tested out their prowess. The beauty of the game is that it'll strong arm you out of your comfort zone Pokemon and make you adapt. Since the end of Episode 14, I've been testing out some different teams. These are the physical attackers I'd recommend to you for adjustments to your team. Bisharp: Dark/Steel type. Great move pool with STAB Iron Head and Night Slash learned through levelling. Dark/Steel typing will be dropped by almost any Fighting pokemon, but fortunately for you, we've beaten the fighting gym twice now. If you're feeling extra ambitious, you could breed Sucker Punch onto it for priority with Toxicroak. Speaking of which... Toxicroak: Poison/Fighting type. Though a low base stat total, it has access to crucial physical Poison attacks that will likely come in handy later on. Brick Break is a TM that's been acquired in the game thus far, so that with Poison Jab, Sucker Punch, and Mud Bomb gives you some excellent type coverage. Aggron: Rock/Steel type. Not the best physical attcker, but one hell of a defensive wall. The rock typing doesn't do Aggron any favours, but it's slow speed can be used to your advantage when fighting physical types with moves like Heavy Slam and Metal Burst. Set up with Autotomize and Iron Head teams into dust. Great Pokemon, and great to have in the back should Mega Evolution become available. Drapion: Poison/Dark type. Access to a great movepool and set up hazards on the opponents field can become crucial in the end game. Setting up layers of Toxic Spikes can give you the edge, and Drapion's natural bulk will allow you to do that. The real beauty of Drapion, though? It has acess to Knock Off. This can literally turn a battle around in your favour, getting rid of Life Orbs or Focus Sash's. Mamoswine: Ice/Ground type. Solid physical attacker with decent typing. Learn's Earthquake by levelling and has STAB Ice Shard for priority. Its movepool isn't spectacular, but keeping it around for decent TM's can make it a great addition to your team. Sharpedo: Dark/Water type. Of course, this would involve you going with the Aqua gang in the story, but Sharpedo can be a huge benefit as well. It can be considered a glass cannon, however it's Speed Boost ability can let you significantly set up with it. Access to moves like Crunch, Ice Fang, and Waterfall give it excellent typing coverage. Torterra: Grass/Ground type. If it weren't for this Pokemon's abysmal speed, it would have a place on my team. Earthquake and Wood Hammer attacks can make for a lovely combination of heavy hitting. Keeping Synthesis on is can allow you to recouperate lost health, while Leech Seed drains the enemy. Great stall/wallbreaker. Crawdaunt: Dark/Water type. My personal favourite. Knock Off access, Waterfall/Crabhammer for big physical damage, and overall utility make this Pokemon my most pleasant surprise. Once again, if you're feeling ambitious, you can breed Aqua Jet onto it for STAB priority, making it a very lethal team member. Others have already mentioned the prowess of Gallade and Excadrill. If I could be bold enough to make a recommendation though. I strongly suggest benching Glaceon. It pains me to say it, as it's probably my favourite Eeveelution, but it's Ice-typing gives it little utility and leaves it vulernable to many popular types of Pokemon. It's not viable to sacrifice a slot for your team for a pure Ice-type.
  13. Honestly, if you've got an Earthquake user on your team, Trick Room wrecks shop. Only real thing that's going to give you attitude is her Rotom-H, which I'm sure the rest of your team can mop up.
  14. For those of you curious, Cradily no longer carries a grass move. If you're looking to use a Water-type starter here, Cradily would be the one to use it on. Current moveset is Stockpile, Recover, Smack Down, Sandstorm. Unless it has Storm Drain? I honestly didn't check.
  15. A fine question left entirely up to speculation at this point, unfortunately... I'd love to know the answer to this, but unfortunately, there simply isn't enough facts in the game to confirm at this point. Who knows for sure if she even ended up there. It seems likely that's where she ran to after she put Connal in the circuit, but where would she have ran afterwards? You're right, the Grand Gates would have been locked and the hole in the stairway wasn't made until the events of the game have already unfolded. It also wouldn't explain why she had aged, but Adrienn did not.
  16. Well, technically, you don't black out after the Solaris fight.
  17. To add onto this, I've just hit the playthrough part where there's dialouge to support this. Adrienn says right at the start that he saw "a girl climbing along the cave walls", then mentioned El and Gardevior soon appeared right after. It seems like a throwaway detail to include, but it's starting to get some plausible facts behind it. The Grand Gates didn't freeze until Adrienn stepped through them, before the earthquakes that decimated Reborn City. Adrienn suggested that there was a girl climbing the cave walls as he fell down into the cave before CItae. It's a flimsy thought the girl he's alluding to is Lin, but again, it's plausible she'd end up there escaping from the orphanage... Time seems to be strange, however. When Lin escaped the orphanage, this would have been after the collapse of Reborn City, would it not? How did the time affect Lin and Adrienn differently? Adrienn remembers the city in it's prime, which would put his isolation for approximately a decade, even though it was only a few moments for him, whereas Lin's exposure to this was experienced differently. I'll be buggered if I could find a reason why, thouigh. "People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to affect, but actually, from a non-linier, non subjective point of view it is more like a big ball of wibbily wobbly timey wimey...stuff"
  18. Kingdra's always been one of those Poke's that rely on situational setups in order to be effective. With Focus Energy/Agility bogging you down before you can make an impact, you'd be better off going with Drapion for the Scope Lens/Sniper combo. I'm starting to gear towards Milotic or Gorebyss as replacement now.
  19. Whoa, see, this is why sometimes multiple playthroughs of the game is necessary! Especially when the lore is as interesting as this. Where does it say she was a loner kid who would spend days on the computer? I'd love to have a closer look at that when I come to it. I'll be honest, I dismissed Terra the moment she made a reference to The Price is Right, thinking she was comic relief. The references to pop culture, the leet speak, the hypersexual dialouge she has with friends: all of it, now that you mention that, seems like misdirection. Not to mention the flimsy reason for her joining Team Meteor in the first place.
  20. It's more of a brotherhood; an "us vs. them" mentality. It seems that the vast majority of cops believe that it's them against the world, and if there isn't unity on their side, then there's total division. There are few cops who don't get caught up in that line of thinking, considering these are the men and women you work with daily. It's hard to "betray" them by being a good cop, or leaving them high and dry when they had a "lapse in judgement". Bear in mind, these are the people that have sworn to uphold the law and protect the citizens of the city by using the power that's bestowed upon them. Sadly, it seems that it's become more about them against the civillians, rather than working with civillians and working to make a peaceful and meaningful difference.
  21. Very exciting stuff. At the same time, I can't help but feel confused and/or frustrated. Like I need another piece of a puzzle to complete it. It begs the question: Why would she be at the Citrae? Who would she be to befriend the baby Arceus? Why is there a malevolence to the person we know, who has the vast majority of her team trembling in fear, even if she did spend time in the Citrae? Terra's glitch world, while full of humour, has some unsettling references to the outside world, so it isn't unheard of that some of the suggestions made there could be given credence. Such as Eclipse's real name on a tombstone in leet speak in Lavender Town.
  22. I couldn't agree more. However, in the United States, there is nothing in these reforms that would otherwise impact an officers ability to do their job. Pat Lynch, the man from the article I've linked above, has gone on record to say that police officers "fixing tickets" is a courtesy provided by the NYPD should you be lucky enough to be subject to nepotism. It's actually a felony, but who's the judge, right? Oh yes, I'm very familiar with that story. It's this one, and an abundance of others, that should not only spark outrage as a citizen, but demand a reform and hold those who did this accountable. Becoming a police officers does not place you above the law, and if you use your weapon unnecessarily you should be tried as if you weren't wearing a uniform at all. That isn't a daunting request to make; let the officers be acocuntable for their actions. Seeing victims such as this one gunned down for no good reason is exactly why these reforms need to happen. If this was the only story, I'd happily play devil's advocate. Very unfortunately, however, it's quite the contrary. In these past two years alone, there have been dozens of weapon use on the job where there was no immediate threat to the officer, or anyone at all for that matter.
  23. I'm currently on a third playthrough of the game, and in this instance, I've decided to make decisions for the character that would otherwise be... poor, I guess? Pretty much anything that you would normally answer in the game, I answer to the contrary. For the sake of time, I'm going to start where the story branches into an interesting path. When you're at the old Yureyu building trying to save Heather, when Connal asks you in you're going to save her; If you choose "No", it actually sets in motion an interesting series of events throughout the game. You won't battle Connal here, but rather you'll fight Sirius upstairs while Connal tends to Heather. After you make your way through the railnet, the story progesses as normal as possible. After the gym battle with Serra, and you bring the medicine back to Anna, you get prepared for the Meteor attack at the Belrose manner. This is where things start to get interesting. When you're told to hold the fort while the other children fight, the encounter you have is not with Sirius (as what most of us have experienced), rather a one-on-one battle with Connal. After the battle, Sirius enters the house, and tells the player that he can't watch both men and that you'll have to choose which one you're going to hold in place. I don't know what happens when you choose to watch Sirius, but I chose Connal, and boy, I wasn't at all disappointed. You see Dr. Connal's vestiges of sanity beginning to slip and slide all over the place. He talks to his dead sister constantly; something I wasn't aware of until I took this route with the story. While he's looking in the living room for Charlotte, Saphira shows up and fucks his world right up. As in, she used Hyper Beam on Connal and blasts him through the side of the house, which results in Saphira getting captured and Laura helps you raid the meteor base. Initially I thought he was dead, until he shows up at the Meteor hideout with different dialouge with Saphira. Afterwards, you and Laura are teleported away by Abra, and need to make your way back to the base. It's this dialouge that really raises some questions here. While talking, Laura talked about how she hates the number seven, and basically shows symptoms of severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She also explains that while she was at the orphanage, there was a girl, named Lin, who was younger than Anna, that would torment her and exploit other peoples fears and secrets. Laura also explains how Lin put Connal into his own circuit, which drew the ire of the doctor. Connal locked up all of the children that night, took a hold of Lin, and she was never heard from again. Laura speculates she either escaped or was killed by the doctor. Which brings us back to Lin's appearance in the game so far. She's not a little girl younger than Anna, she's a fully grown adult. Connal, who looks directly at her and even briefly interacts with her, remarks how she's familiar, but doesn't seem to recognize her. Speaking from a person like Connal's perspective, would you not remember a sociopathic girl who electrocuted less than a year ago? I'm almost certain you would. Unless I'm missing something, Lin's age would put her as very young. Too young to run an entire team, too young to manipulate and start the PULSEs, too young to earthquake Yureyu into dust. Nobody seems to recognize her, either. Saphira had no idea who she was, Sigmund remarked on a similarity, but things aren't adding up. It's very likely this Lin woman who we've met in the Meteor base isn't the same girl that was at the orphanage. If it were, it looks as though she's warped and manipulated by some sort of celestial Pokemon bent on destruction. Darkrai? Deoxys? It's an explanation why nobody from the orphanage seems to even know who she is, even though they were together for an extended period of time, and how a girl that was around Anna's age is now currently hellbent on destroying Reborn City as a whole. I don't know why I regurgitated all of this this, I guess I was excited to see an alternative story with Lin getting more background. She's a very mysterious character. TL;DR: Sigmund Connal hyperbeamed through Belrose Manner (BOOM), Laura and you discuss girl named Lin at the orphanage, which would make Lin a teenager at the oldest. I find it hard to believe a teenager seizing control of an organization like Team Meteor without assistance. Lin at the orphanage and the Lin at the meteor base possibly not the same person, or is the same person being manipulated/posessed by some celestial force.
  24. Well, with the overwhelming news the police force across the United States has been receiving in the past few years, I'd imagine a lot of people are growing concerned with how their actions have no virtual consequence. Civillians have been choked to the point of death, shot, punched and kicked, by officers who should be leading by example and upholding the law. There's been several instances where either their union or fellow officers break the very laws they were to uphold, and many crimes committed by police officers go largely unchecked because of it. It was only a matter of time before everybody wanted to see some substantial change to how they can hold their officers accountable. This is a huge reason why body cameras were at one time encouraged, and is now slowly becoming the norm. However, a driving concern is when said body camera "malfunctions" at crucial times in an investigation, negating the entire reason for starting to wear them in the first place. I'm not sure. Is there a reason not to do this? Should this be an issue for officers who supposedly have "nothing to hide"? In a few recent instances, camera phones from civillians have held extremely incriminating evidence against some police force whose police reports are nowhere close to matching what had actually transpired. For now. Toronto's been tasked with equipping their officers with body cameras, so we'll see how that goes. The instances of police brutality and fatalities in the RCMP and local/provincial police departments are staggeringly low, but then again, our country has approximately the same size of population as the state of California alone. Wasn't Montreal's force protesting something to do with their pension by wearing clown pants to work? EDIT: Hah. They are. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-debate/editorials/rein-in-the-clowns-known-as-the-montreal-police/article25007867/
  25. I'm on another playthrough right now. First it was Pidgeot, who had access to Feather Dance, which helped big time in a few situations, but it's hugely limited movepool made it replaced by Crobat. Another one was my Moxie Mightyena, who was great right up until Kiki, then it's usefulness took a nosedive. Pangoro is slowly making it's way up the list on the chopping block. My Golem, on the other hand, has proven to be shockingly useful. I needed a Ground-type on my team, and it's amazing movepool has made an impression on me. Still divided on whether or not I should replace it with Excadrill.
