This is not the only party of the year. The Christmas party is already geared to cater to the western hemisphere exclusively, unless you're living in the westernmost parts of Europe and decide to just skip sleep for a night, like Juu here who lives in the timezone that is one hour closer to EST than... France, Spain, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the scandinavian countries and more. I'm one more hour farther than these countries and two from Juu (GMT+2) and to make it to the start of the Queen's Game I have to stay up to 4.30. ...oh, in an exam period too.
I didn't ask for any changes and I understand how difficult they would be, because quite frankly, and as Tacos too said, the vast majority of people involved in organizing the events reside in said timezones and it would be a complete pain to just try and change the time for a couple hours, much less to cater to another hemisphere
That brings us to the realization that out of all of the auth team, only three out of the 16 members of the auth team (I don't include Ame and Clarice) reside outside the western hemisphere: Sheep(cat) and the fresher auth members that are Zumi and Mde. This is not an accusation of promotions being based on where anyone lives, but a notice of the auth team's natural weakness (barring very weird sleep schedules) to cover a large timeframe of non-US-based user activity.
Personally I am not interested in the party all that much. I am much more interested to see the community be able to embrace its international composition and activity better, instead of continuing to be geared around the people and times of the US. The expansion of the parties from one to two a year leaving the same people out twice is not a good sign. I hope that the questions raised by the members here would be able to lead to some decentralization of Reborn's weight and power structure. That would hopefully hold it from becoming a community where a geographical majority gets the best part of the deal every time in the name of majority, while the not much smaller or less important to the community minority continues to get the worst parts of the deal.
