  1. Well, Mr Lyner, are you sure you picked the right girl? Doesn't she look like she's a tiny bit off the deep end? No? She's great? Well, that's what one would expect to hear from a brave knight such as you, Mr Lyner. Have fun, have fun, what could possible go wrong?
  2. Hilda, you are not playing competitive. Slow pivoting is just a waste of Eelektross' health in the game Eele is nice, but you have to know from beforehand what you're dong. You need to evolve it after 49 for Special (Acid Spray) or 59 for physical (Coil + Wild Charge). With Grass Knot, Flamethrower or Iron Tail, Brick Break, Acrobatics, it will improve great at the final bits of the game, as TMs and tutors are getting available. But you won't be able to do jack with it before it evolves, you can't run a mix set because you are really limited if you run dual stabs, and AS/Coil are really needed to help it tear stuff down. Also god is that line ugly, even by gen5 ugliness standards. Never put that thing in the same sentence with the Lightkeeper of Olivine Town, who megaevolves into a most fabulous Supar Saiyajian. Also check my sub480 BST run who I just decided to continue
  3. I played the new Serra right when E15 community came out... and then kinda shorta abandoned the run. After playing her non-stop for about 3 days to get the ins and outs of the field, winning, losing, getting haxed, haxing her... hitting Serra with a physical attack is borderline hax in itself. Scroll above to see the older members, and also check something I got before I stopped updating, and used it against Serra. Female, Level 48 Ability: Sheer Force Nature: Naive Iron Head - Play Rough - Crunch - Rock Smash That thing will love the LO after Noel. And I may give it Suckerpunch, since it mostly works, now I will resume after a long session of training and adding and training teammembers. Bear with me. These will be the little shits I'm going to add in the next few days of grinding. I've already caught Venonat and a Cubone and bred a Meowth with HP Fighting to make a Technician sweeper with Nasty Plot, I'm looking forward to Smoochum's egg moves, Zangoose is strong, Sharpedo line is Sharpedo line, thank you very much. Now. Catching and Grindathon. See you in a few days, while I'm getting pumped up and start to reembrace the challenge!!! In the meanwhile, E15 brought home Sneazel, who is perfectly legal and will whoop some ballerina butt if it comes with Icicle Crash as an event egg move. What made me sad about the event egg moves though? I missed my shot at Brave Bird Murkrow. Damn. Well, still awesome Prankster support.
  4. Vinny!!!

    1. BlueMoonIceCream

      BlueMoonIceCream

His name is vinnial thank you very much

  5. Obscure resistance of the day: Ghost resists Poison, Trevenant is neutral to GS, just mine a spoopy plate and Sneak up on him to not just miss and die. You're supposed to be a schemer anyway, sneaking up on people is what you do. Or Suckerpunch it, if you dare risk the WoW. Ampharos is good. Don't box it. It is really great to shuffle fields, and especially the most common ones, Factory/Shortcircuits and Caves to Crystal Caves with Power Gem. And Electric Terrain as well. And... you already got inside info on that. So yeah. Keep it in action, Amphy can scheme just fine. Keep Golem around for Chandelure. Walk in, kick ass.
  6. SS is best setup move ever, Shell Smash. Btw, grab the 8th Dpt. Store sticker and go to the 8th floor and grab a buttload of White Herbs. Rockslide is bad on Mag because of its bad Att stat. And Ancientpower gets two boosts in the field. And... I'm most worried if Mag is gonna outspeed at +2 The idea of Pyromanis is good but has a slight drawback, the Sash is consumed after you faint for the first time.
  7. Go to the relearner, give Mag SS over RS, Sash it, set up a SS and go for the stab and field boosted Ancientpower. See how much that dents it for a start.
  8. Lol, Imposter Prof Oak is still remembered
  9. Well, the moar, the merrier. One more theme from the musicman or whoever would like to theme me, please!
  10. So, I was initially all for Misha, since I really like Jack and Krusche, I'm much fonder of Misha than of Aurica, and I wanted to see what had forced her to revert to a child than to see how the Bishop thing would play out. Also China Misha Not recruiting Ayatane would be a loss, but well. Then, the Mir - Aurica connection, made it much closer. I feel it's a choice between the few best characters in the game and the single most interestig plot thread in the game. But, since completing both of their Cosmospheres is a thing, I think I'll cave in and still stand for Misha. I'm reaaaaally not fond of Aurica thus far. Again, the Mir connection is the most interesting bit, but it feels... kinda like backtracking to go meet the Bishop.
  11. Ok. I could use a new avi myself. Any suggestions anyone?
  12. False alarm: my guide was on the money, I just had forgotten the important half of a puzzle.

  13. Am I a bad Item Guide maker for suddenly doubting if I have posted the right solution to a puzzle that leads to an iteam or the wrong one? Because I'm suddenly worrying I've effed up.

    1. Simon

      Simon

Nah man. Being open to mistakes if any are made is what allows us to grow and make Guides even better.

*opens the game. is in the Circus. uses Fly. to Obsidia. Fly. to Obsidia. Fly to Obsidia.*

I may or may haven't Reborn'd for a long time.

  14. Tomas, come to the server and UU my sorry butt. Also I have more Ar Tonelico chat after the last ep.

      Odybld

Ok, come later :P ...the last episode made the Aurica vs Misha path choice much more close.

    3. Tomas Elliot

      Tomas Elliot

Yeah, I was expecting it. Keep in mind however, that every plot point that originates in the COsmosphere is resolved in the Cosmosphere. And as I said, we will still get to finish both Cosmospheres regardless of the path. So yeah, the Devil Aurica bit IS resolved in Misha's path too, albeit in less deep fashion.

  15. Screw the church, screw Radolf, bye Aurica, we won't miss you. Let's go for China Misha!!! Ayatane may be a loss, but, Misha. Misha. Misha! Also Jack and Krusche. I really like these two especially Jack the Suspicious
  16. So I'm thinking of doing a Gen1-2 monoWater run. But the early availiability is a bit... awful. Like Goldeen-Seel-ME-Krabby before Kiki. Any suggestions?

      laggless01

okay, and you have to count your starter, too. You're sure you can't buy/get psyduck somewhere?

    4. laggless01

      laggless01

And Seel can have Perish Song when you get it, so that's something.

  17. Darvan, I think you're in the wrong subforum. Ask someone to move this to the main part of the Victory Road. Also, give me a Rain squad if you don't mind. Does Golduck qualify as a good rain abuser with HP Rock and Psychic to hit the Sun core and Mega Venu?
  18. Post Flobot leaders: Corey, Shelly, Shade, Kiki, Aya. None of them is afraid of the Hitmons. Most of them resist them, Shade is immune, and Kiki has lots of field-boosted Psychic coverage. Hitmons damaging moves without the relearner... aka goddamnit GF: Fake Out, Tackle from Tyrogue, then: Lee (Feint at 25, HJK at 29) Chan (Feint at 31, Elepunches at 36, Sky Uppercut at 41) Top (Counter at 28... Feint at 30... Gyro Ball at 42... CC at 55?! I've already reached the relearner!)
  19. at B+/A- +available super-early in Gearen City from the guy that sells Pokeballs for 400P +available evolved before Keta (evolves at 30, then you can lower it a bit) +incredible speed barring speed-altering situations (Water surface and Crawli's Barbed Wire) +an abusable moveset: Charge Beam(lvl16), ElectroBall (lvl22), Discharge (lvl41), Eerie Impulse (lvl6) (lowers opponent's SpAtt two stages) +very fast Light Screen support if you're bad in using Electrode, and yes, Light Screen is bad +great at cheesing single Pokemon bosses like Shadow Mewtwo, outspeeding and lowering their SpAtt as much as possible before going down, opening a way for teammates to beat them easier ++great monosweeping potential: In Singles, it can single out an opponent's special attacker, abuse it's speed and spam two or three Eerie Impulses to nil their SpAtt, heal up, take minimal damage barring crits hax and set up Charge Beams while the opponent either does minimal damage or heals. Considering that Charge Beam takes a while to reach KO potential, you can reach a respectable +4 and higher in many situations before your setup bait dies. Then proceed to click the right STAB (Electric is a largely unresisted type and ElectroBall breaks easily many slow bulky opponents) and sweep teams easily. Even if the sweep is full (hello Slaking, hello Gengar because Spiritomb's Pressure killed my PP) you still have abused one Pokemon to destroy ~4 of the opponent, and have enough to deal with what's left. -terribad coverage: Hidden Power x-type (hunt for Ice or Grass preferably), Swift, that's it -lackluster stats barring speed: its bulk is 0 without abusing Eerie Impulse, its SpAtt is really bad without setting up lots of Charge Beams -Doubles: other than setting said bad Light Screen or fishing for a Para or two with Discharge or singling out an opponent to use Eerie Impulse, it's really bad in Doubles -no access to Thunder Wave: ok, it can do it's job anyway, but T-Wave would go so incredibly perfect with it -speed drop situations render it useless: looking at the current field of Valarie, and also Crawli if he sets webs and you can't remove them -I didn't need to abuse it in later fights: I abused it to wipe out most of Narcissa's and Marianette's teams easy and sweet, as well as both Keta matches, some Ren fights, Amaria, etc, but I haven't used it against Crawli and Angie because I had much better solutions that wiped them out (Defiant Empoleon and Justified Arcanine, ggs) -requires support with Intimidate or/and Baby Doll Eyes to use physical attackers as setup bait: Herdier-Stoutland make the best partner, I guess -the very rare Contrary, Defiant or Competitive opponents -crits hax Why B+/A-? Because it can sweep through many teams in singles, and while I haven't used against the later leaders... the reasons that make it abusable are still there. I just had better things to throw at them (and still haven't played Zetta/Geara and Amber), but the upcoming nerf to the Water surface will help it against Valarie, and it could exploit future leaders as well. I throw my body at it being ranked lower that B+ on the grounds of that sweeping potential, and also of the ability to severely reduce the SpAtt of single-Mon bosses and make them much easier to take out with the rest of the team.
  20. So, I've been wondering a bit about starters reavailability in Reborn... So far they've been always divided into geographical trios: Chico-Tepig-Squirtle in the South (Azurine, Apophyll, Wasteland), Chespin-Cynda-Piplup in 7th Street, Turtwig-Fenek-Toto in the general Agate Circus vicinity (the Circus, Ametrine Mt., WTC). We still have three trios, with one out of each type, and the rankings in each type are propably: Treecko<Bulba<Snivy, Charmander<Chimchar<Torchic, Osha<Mudkip<Froakie. And < is not an arrow, it's a "less-that" sign. The first trio is after the 7th gym (Aya) (yes, 7th, I count Kiki and Corey), the second is after the 10th (Radomous), the third is after Terra (14th), which means that we're 3/4 into the game and the last three trios will be kinda ...stuffed close to each other. Now, the three OP culprits will propably take a while, but considering that starters are shorta geographically based and we don't have many unexplored regions, the location possibilities are: 1) The Desert and its caves 2) Agate city (pretty surefire, imo) 3) Labradorra city (entrance to the VR and propably housing the last gym) 4) Victory Road and Charous Mt. and since the 3) and 4) are right next to each other... 0?) the revamped Reborn city and clean Azurine lake? In short, there could be just enough space even to fit starters anywhere and stagger them without getting zilch in the city next episode. On one side, that makes sense, since we just got another trio right before Ciel. On another side... there is a trio that's preeeeeetty underwhelming, considering what's left on the table, namely Treecko, Charmander and Oshawott. Ok, Charmander gets all the popularity grabs... but the other fire options are Chimchar and ...rolf, we ain't getting THAT. I wonder if the utterly outclassed Oshawott will eventually get popularity grabs because Cain and adorable Also, Makuhita replacement? Enter Tyrogue!
  21. Ame, I think you missed the point about NFE Pokemon: I'm not talking about Electivire and co., I'm talking about Electabuzzzzzzz, Magmar, Gligar, Sneazel etc. All these things got their final evo in 4th gen, long after their introduction. They need very specific items to evolve. My point is: Their evolution is unobtainable anyway, so why not give them a chance to get used in their Not Fully Evolved form? Why keep out some really nice Pokemon from the first two gens when the point is actually to keep out only their latest, later-gen evolutions? Would you axe Murkrow from Lapis because of Honchkrow being too good for Shelly and Kiki or something? Would Misdreavus break the early game? Would Magmar and Electabuzz sweep Samson, Charlotte, Terra and Ciel, or even Rad or Luna? As of the walls, you know better than that and you're just too hard-headed to actually admit it: metagame viability =/= in-game viability. Jellicent's good points are its gread SpD, the typing and ability allowing it to switch freely ino Normal, Fighting, Water moves, and the easy clicking of the Scald button and the Recover button. Guess what, that's mostly useless in the game. We have shift batle style, we have healing items, we don't have Scald. Mandibuzz: it's good because it stopped any physical sweepers with Foul Play, removed hazards and had Roost for recovery. And it doesn't even get Foul Play in Reborn, it needs a tutor. Etc etc etc etc. And we also lack the TM for Toxic, which is an important part of stalling things out. You know all of that. Come on. Just make a small lake with purple water in the wasteland or the grotto and have Frillish, Inkay and stuff like that beimg fishable there.
  22. The adventure continues in Tomas' latest from Ar Tonelico. I think Lyner made that barwoman jealous. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18447entry444039
