  1. What does that "LT1A" in usernames in Showdown mean?

    1. Simon

      Simon

It was pretty much an alt for those who competed in the Smogon Official Ladder Tournament.

  2. What kind of field does Corey have? If it's the Corrosive Field, then you can't do anything about it. If it's the Corrosive Mist, you can do following stuff: -give them anti-Poison Berries to hold, to spare yourself one round of poison -or go to the Onyx Arcade, get Facade and teach them all, so it gets boosted when you get poisoned Also: Level up Frogadier to 33 to get Smack Down, level up Stunky to 34 to evolve it and have it learn Flamethrower. If you have an Ability Capsule, change Mightyenas abilit to Moxie. Can't think much more than that. Good luck!
  3. Thank you for explaining that! As Ikaru said, I thought the different wording implied a different result. Sorry for the pestering, my bad. And thanks to you as well, you nailed exactly what made me misunderstand. I was used on seing that additional everywhere. It turns out that the new field with some lucky rolls can rek Bennett in Iolia. We lose the certain 4x rock damage on his flying bugs, but we have 50% chances on hitting the 4x against his Venomoth and Dustox, hitting the additional Psychic or Fire. There are enough natural Sunny Day users at this point of the game.
  4. Ok, propably Luna won't bother with Sunny Day. But I can see Bennett kicking off with a Sunny Day with his Larvesta, and have Masquerain come off the bench with Rain Dance. Again, I'm not afraid of the field. The wheel of fortune and "level it down like Common Candy" are more for the sake of fun and pun. What I find questionable is that the Rock type gets completely canceled this time. It's not a "Ground attacks fail" on a Water Surface, that makes perfect sense, it's not "Type X deals mixed type damage". It gets completely thrown away, and if you think about it, crystals are still crustals, they're hard, stoney, you know? Rock attacks could still do mixed damage and it would make much more sense. And, not only is the Rock type extinct in that field, it gets replaced randomly with wildly different results each time. Easy fix: Rock attacks deal mixed damage, part rock and part randomly decided between these four types. Also, an extra bonus caveat if you want to make that field very interesting in the eye. All active Pokemon in that field turn shiny. I mean, why not?
  5. Welcome to the brand! new! Wheeeeeeel! OF FORTUNE!!! Against Bennett!! Rock attacks enter the wheel of fortune and have 25% chance of being SE, 25% chance to be double NVE, and 50% chance to deal normal damage! Against Lunas Jubjub Bird!!! It's 25% ineffective, 25% NVE, and 50% to do normal damage. Let's spin the wheel and find out!!! (There goes my Nasty Plot + Power Gem plan for Persian) (Honestly, that's borderline hax. It completely makes rock attacks redundant, and it's not like it's the most populat type ever. At least, with the other fields, we know what we get) (Camerupt, EQ those crystals to the FRACTAL EFFIN OBLIVION!!! Level that place down like a Common Candy!!!) I don't complain about the field. The field can be navigated. But I'm not sure about the logic behind it, that's all.

      The opposing Staryu used Thunderbolt!

It's super effective! Vullaby lost 61.5% of its health!

It dealth the exact same amount of damage with and without the crit, and the guy complains...

  6. I like your line of thinking. Especially considering that Fern is right now together with a certain Doctor Connall and his Electivire. That would be an awesome plot twist. Anyway. Fern is a well-done annoying character, Blake is an awesomely-done sonova character, and the Doctor is a beyond awesome good intentions/horrible results character. I can't see redemption for the sake of redemption. Also, a little Blake sidequestion. Was my brain asleep at Ametrine, was I hurrying up too much, or is Blake pushing down Cal in only a certain storyline which I didn't choose?
  7. Great job so far! I can confirm that Solarischomp has Fire Fang as the 4th move. Also I'm pretty sure that Kikis Lucario has Calm Mind, and it gets a field boost. Also, it's Wasteland Punk Aya for you. Corsola is lvl 30. Darumaka is lvl 10. I think that Shade's Rotom also has Thunder Wave, but I'm not sure at all. Have you, by any chance, encountered a Miracle Seed? Do you remember where?
  8. The following moves deal x2.0 damage and 50% of the dealt damage restores the user's HP. Bite Crunch Fire Fang Ice Fang Poison Fang
  9. Water. Balance all the way, baby. Swampert Kingdra Lapras Octillery Starmie Gyarados If Octillery got the Gen4 treatment and got another evolution, that would only up its speed, it would be a menace.
  10. Available as in implemented or as "laying out there, scour the earth to find it"? Thanks a lot anyway, very appreciated! I thought real bad badasses do dive and swim with heavy armour on them though.
  11. Is King's Rock Cinccino in RU a cardinal sin? Same about Cirtus Clawitzer.

  12. Well, if you ask for some more meaningful posting, I have a proposition. About the game, not the thread. Why not give us TM94 Secret Power? The game is at ORAS content now, the HMs have been mad into TM variants, and Secret Power is back at No94, currently rock Smash. Would it be too complicated to change Rock Smash to TMX 6 (its oras number is HM6), and handle the ensuing domino effect by renumbering the TMXs after 6? It's a move that almost every Pokemon learns. Its base power isn't too strong to be a game breaker. I mean, we get Shadow Ball after the 5th gym battle. The secondary effects make Secret Power an interesting option to use with all the field effects, just enough to make some players use it for sheer tactical reasons. And the different side effects per field is something you have already coded, and there's only one Pokemon that can learn the move by level up, the ellusive and not used at all Audino. So, they're practically unexploited. Giving us the TM would actually reward you the trouble you had implementing those side effects for a move that we couldn't use. So, what about giving us Secret Power? (also give Smack Down to Samsons Conkeldurr, if outsped and Bounced, that thing is defenseless)
  13. I love Blake, I hate Fern. Blake owns the "unconscious bastard sonova" corner. He's awesomely funny with all the trolling he does on the other characters. Fern, on the other side, is all talk. Blablabla. Gets owned every time, and just says "you lucky". Doesn't have Blake's swagger, trolling humor and lack of consciousness, he doesn't even have Blue's/Gary's swagger. He's just a pathetic loser who doesn't have that much of an idea of what's going on around him. Also, like, who can root for that other pathetic loser named Cal?
  14. I still stand by the "it's a momentum killer" complaint. If you can get a lvl 50 Bronzor that gives you 70% of what Metagross gives you, and you have to spare yourself the part of grinding, you can do it and continue to kick ass in the game without the grinding sessions, losing time and losing momentum. Also, Metagross is catchable right after Noel. If you don't wanna grind to have him ready for Radomous... here come Luna, Samsons Knock-Offs, Charlotte and Terra. And with 4 Ability Capsules at max, Bronzong loses its weakness against Charlotte and gets an immunity against Terra. Route 3. 5% chance for Bronzor at 50-60, 6% for Bronzong at 50-72. Catch rate: 90 for Bronzong, 255! for Bronzor. Bronzor's also in Iolia valley, 20% in the caves, lvls 20-40. There ya go.
  15. 1. Get some Honey. There are three ways. Either you have a Taddiursa or a Combee with Honey Gather and you go grinding, or you go to Nyus house in North Aventurine Woods (not far from where Joltik is) and trade whatever sweets you have (Ice Cream, Red Hots, Peppermint etc) for Honey (you can buy these sweets in the Obsidia Candy Shop), or you can buy Honey for 1000 apiece in the Lapis Flower Shop, which is the most costly way of getting it. 2. In the North and South Aventurive Woods are some large trees, with their bark exposed, always near obstacles. Click on them, put Honey on them, take 250 steps and a pair of Heracross and Pinsir fighting will appear. 3. If the nearby obstacle is a tree trunk, fight Heracross. If it is a spider web, fight Pinsir. After you take them down, the other Pokemon will clear the obstacle and disappear. Do this all over the place and you'll clear the way not only to Joltik, but to other nice goodies as well.
  16. Wanna know what's OP? Titania on the Water Surface. Ground attacks fail, Fire attacks get weak. If we go underwater, Fire attacks fail, physical attacks get weak. And there are 2 special Fighting attacks we have access to, learned by a staggering 4 'mons we have access to.
  17. Gastly + Hypnosis + Nest Balls. But I wouldn't. Biggest mistake of my second reborn run. It killed all the momentum.
  18. So it's a "whatever small changes you come across" category? Could one of them be giving Samsons Conkeldurr Smack Down so I can't just outspeed it, use Bounce a couple times and let it always attack while I'm invulnerable? /makeussuffermakeuscry
  19. I thought that E15 alone would bring in 6 new fields. And it kinda adds up. Murkwater, the 2 mountain fields, Serra, and then maybe one new for the gym leader in this EP, and maybe one Ice Cave so we can't do all that stupid "melt and dive" inside the mountain caves. If that's stupid on the mountain slopes, as Ame said, I guess it is for the mountain caves as well. Ice cave: Rock attacks deal Ice damage Ground hitting airborne targets Ice, Rock and Sound attacks boosted EQ and Magnitude collapse the cave Fly and Bounce last one turn Flying and Fire attacks get weakened, Scald as well Hail lasts 8 turns Ice chances are doubled, Burn damage is halved Stealth Rock becomes ice/rock and deals double damage Activates Snow Cloak and Ice Body, boosts Refrigerate Camouflage changes type to Ice Secret Power may Flinch Nature Power becomes Avalance Ciel gets KOd instantly with all that x4 damage Ame if you need help or ideas I'm here for you Also, some predictions about Serras new mirror floor Boosts dance moves (like the Big Top), it will help Bennetts Quiver Dance Boosts attacks based on light (like half of the ones boosted in Lunas), or all Beam attacks Boosts Mirror Coat damage (and Serra has a Sturdy Avalugg with it) Boosts Reflect (and maybe Light Screen) Boosts evasion changes (Snow Cloak time!) Halves damage by one type that's SE against Ice, other than Fire I get a cookie for each clause I nail when it gets announced The team is Abomasnow for the Hail and Jynx for the Reflect, Frosslass, Avalugg, Lapras or Walrein and Glaceon or Mamoswine.
  20. ...the eye of the Koga pose guy is kinda off. Like, the shape seems off, the iris is way too outside, and too big at that. I think he's better off with realistic, almond-shape eyes instead of the large anime-style ones, due to the angle.
  21. The run continued again for the last 3 days. I Cursed that Garchomp, beat Cain and then crossed the Wasteland with harsh sunlight for the first time. Too bright, too purple, too antiatmosperic, never do that. EVER. I did the top dog doggystyle, and I really loved his brand new Ferrothorn, apparently the only thing that my Camerupt can outspeed. Then I proceeded to plow through Aya and her underleveled team. I started with MeowsticFemdom and Whiscash. I threw everything at Tentacruel to make sure Camerupt could come in later. I discovered her Nidoqueen wasn't doing much offensively, so I continued to direct every attack to whatever she brought out. Dragalge? Took a Psyshock and a Zen Headbutt and couldn't even start an attack. Her Gengar outsped Meowstic in the old-fashioned quick-draw dul. Dodrio came in and was too much, especially for her Venusaur. Whiscash fell due to a poisoning, but before that it had waisted a turn when Aya suddenly switched Nidoqueen for Drapion and I had gone for Zen Headbutt. Only to bring Nidoqueen out next turn though. Camerupt and Dodrio wiped out everything that was left of her team. Bye! I beat Sirius with Cain rather easily. Well, Cain had some casualties, and maybe that Lava Plume with his Venomoth at my side didn't help him. Can't remember much of the battle though. Started with Whiscash, used a couple Muddy Waters... He took Chandelure out and then brought it back... not much. Anyway, here I am now, I have reached the next long stop of my journey. I'm in Spinel Town. I'll sit here for a while, get E15 and then plow through the Voclains and their new shiny mirror floor. Inbetween, I'll beat them right now without the new field, but won't save it. Wanna have the newest of them in this run. Since I hadn't played for a while, I had a lot of battles in the Grand Hall for grinding. The reason is simple: if I don't, I'll eventually fall far behind the cap. Normally, that isn't a problem, but now that I haven't got the superstrong pokemon, I think I'll pass on the chance to go to Samson at 58-62 and at Charlotte at 60-63 as usual. I don't need to grind like a maniac to overlevel, but I want to stay as close to that cap as possible, since I always start staying behind around Aya and Serra. Noel is annoying but doable, Radomous isn't hard and Luna is super easy, but Samson and Charlotte hit wicked hard, and fast as well. And... I don't think my team looks anything like overleveled, considering I'm two battles away from the cap rising to 55. And I'll do the same once E15 comes out and I beat Bennett and Serra, since it will take a while and the Grand Hall battles will pile up again. The team has really gotten huge, goes 10 deep already. Male, Level 44 Ability: Keen Eye (will be made Prankster in due time) Nature: Naive Moves: Reflect - Light Screen - Psyshock - Charm Female, Level 47 Ability: Prankster (aka, the female Espurr with hidden ability which evolves and gets the male's hidden ability. 3 ability capsules gonna get wasted) Nature: Quiet Moves: Psychic - Psyshock - Shadow Ball - Signal Beam Female, Level 47 Ability: Solid Rock Nature: Naive Moves: Rock Slide - Lava Plume - Earthquake - Flame Burst Male, Level 47 Ability: Early Bird Nature: Gentle Moves: Rage - Double Hit - Pursuit - Drill Peck Male, Level 47 Ability: Lightning Rod Nature: Rash Moves: Discharge - Bite - Quick Attack - Wild Charge Male, Level 44 Ability: Huge Power Nature: Quiet Moves: Play Rough - Aqua Tail - Bubblebeam - Rollout That thing is too powerfull and grows too fast. I pretty much don't use it in big battles. Way too OP, first time I use it and I see why it will get moved. Female, Level 48 Ability: Pure Power Nature: Careful Moves: Zen Headbutt - Recover - Ice Punch - High Jump Kick I'll show everyone Medichams pure power and Kikis staggering spirit! Female, Level 47 Ability: Hydration (will get changed to anticipation) Nature: Relaxed Moves: Mud Bomb - Aqua Tail - Muddy Water - Zen Headbutt Look at that smug smile. It really killed me trying to catch that thing. Level 46 Ability: Sturdy (maybe will be made Analytic? dunno) Nature: Relaxed Moves: Spark - Flash Cannon - Metal Sound - Discharge So much cooler than that gen 4 UFO. I can use it, since it was the end of the Magnemite line for three generations. Male, Level 43 Ability: Poison Point Nature: Impish (yeah, I know, bad nature, will change in 7th st.) Moves: Magical Leaf - Giga Drain - Leech Seed - Toxic Or else, the tank destroyer. Roselia is weak and reminds me of poor ol' Wally in R/S, but I can't have Roserade, and can't resist to that Leech Seed - Toxic combo. I may have these, but I want moar! Give me moar! This is a list of Pokemon I'll definately get in this run. I also think about getting some of them, but not sure:
  22. I gave all the Solarischomp EXP to a Pokemon I'll prolly never use again. I want a refound from my stupid self.

    1. PsychoticPudu
    2. Odybld

      Odybld

Shuppett. I can't use Mega Banette in the future cause I'm on a sub-480 BST run, and I thought it would be good at least for Radomous, but then realised that Protean Kecleon or Persian will be so much better.
