  1. Fern came, Fern saw, Fern got swept out of the building yet again.

Just a typical day in the life of a Swag Jockey.

    2. ArmoredGuardian
  2. The song title and the file name pretty much give it out, same goes for the music that plays in the battle against Shade. It's the gym music and the leader theme respectively, only reversed.
  3. I'm neither benevolent nor responsible enough to work my butt off in order to make up for my colleages' incompetence.

  4. I always like to play Corey in the Mist field without removing it. I give each of my Mons an anti-poison berry and I do a lot of switching. To be honest, the AI doesn't go for Venoshock too often, which would be really lethal.
  5. I may ragequit Corey style. 43 hours, 15-mon rotation before Serra, and then I say "No" to Gastly and then save. Cuz I thought it wouldn't dissapear. Ugh.

Maybe you could trade for one...

Wait until you can catch one in the wild. Should take... i don't know, until episode 20 i guess :I

I'm really sour right now. I'll try to shake it off and wait till E15, I think Ame has stated Gastly will be pushed back to allow more usage for Misdreavus and the other Ghost types, so I may be able to get it in a new event. I like Mis'us, but the Gastly line is one of my favourites, not to mention the Gen 1 nostalgia.

  6. Could anyone take my save file and make it go to the previous saved spot? It's my mess-up and not something that would merit a troubleshooting thread, but any help would be apprecciated.

  7. I cry every time as well, and there is a Gible evolution involved in that as well.
  8. My Vulpix now has Extrasensory, Will-o-wisp, Hex and Flame Burst. Should I evolve it right now or wait for Flamethrower and lose the ability to light up fields?

      evolve now

Thanks a lot, madf0x and Simon!!! ...but I just checked and Ninetales can get Flamethrower from the relearner. So I'll light up fields for now and later maybe I'll get the extra fire-power. Thanks again!

If you have beat Noel, wait for Flamethrower. If not, evolve. Makes the fight easier.

  9. a. Don't be lazy, you're gonna love Superpower-ing that Tyranitar and b, if you bend the rules, you have a legitimate starter in Treecko. That means no Goomy. Hehehe.
  10. Just grind coins and get yourself another Trapinch. Give it an Everstone. Get Superpower at 40. Evolve it to Vibrava and then go straight to the move relearner and give it Bug Buz. Then go to Radomous and Luna and give them pain.
  11. As an "A" voter myself, I think that there are three other reasons behind A getting a comfortable majority. And I really like your wording: attached. a. Habbit. Players have gotten used to grind for Pokemon they want, especially if they breed. b. Avoiding the awkwardness. It's a game to make us feel good and comfortable, not an exercise in rational assett management. It kinda snowballs with A to make a decision partly based on what feels less bad, the tedious habbit or the awkward fix. c. Fixability. Grinding and its positives can stay in place and become much faster with more rebattlable trainers, getting the exp items earlier, or just more trainers to fight throughout the region. That said, in my latest run I'm just about to go to Apophyll after beating Shade and shutting down the factory. I already have 10 Pokemon between 35 and 40, and six of them are not fully evolved, three former party members that fell off and sit in the box (Kricks, Loudred and Meowstic, which is 31 and may come back until Aya) and I want to grind 4 more Pokemon as soon as I can (Trapinch, Cleffa, Petitil, Noibat and maybe one more Trapinch). I want to raise a huge team, or rather army, and damn is it tiring and boring. But well, I wanna do it. It sucks, but it's awesome.
  12. Ok, I wanna get two Trapinches. I get the coins. I start F12ing for good IVs. I get one with 1 HP and the next lowest 27. Keeper. The next good? HP IV again 1, and the secold lowest were 2 stats with 20. Damn, should I keep the second or F12 again?

They're both female. And I'm not into breeding. Not to say, that I'd have to grind them even more later.

      Shamitako

Well for one, I'd do them one at as time, so I could reset them separately. And yes, I'd keep both

I did them one at the time, and the question was only for the second one. In the end, I dropped it and picked up a more balanced one. It has a nature that decreases Attack but that will eventually get fixed in 7th street, and I can survive untill then as is. Now, good luck to me grinding them.

Thanks for the input, kitten and general!

  13. Other than the rebattlable trainers, as someone said before, we just could get the Exp Share and the Lucky Egg earlier. Say, the Happiny in the Coral Ward could have the Lucky Egg on it. Or if it's too early, the Happiny could go together with Ditto in the Blackstream Factory. Or, if that's too early as well, the Happiny and the Lucky Egg could go in 7th Street instead of the Exp Share. There could be a new event for the Exp Share either in Lapis (where someone may have trouble staying under the cap, for these story reasons) or in Apophyll (since the cap takes a while to jump from there as well). I also like the Exp Share as a brace to overleveling without having to use Common Candy.
  14. I was mining for stuff today and Lord Helix sent me a message, appearing towards me not once, but twice. So, in Lord Helix I shalt trust upon. Amen.
  15. An educated guess by a fan of basketball, who can't watch college basketball due to the time difference. It's impossible for Kentucky to make a run at the title. Sooner or later, things will go really south in a game and they won't manage it.
  16. Murkrow. Catch rate 30. Ugh.

At least Beldum won't go Wing Attack on my lovely Petilil so I can't use sleeppowder.

No he'll kill himself with take down instead.

  17. When you go into the wasteland, you have to go through a building to advance. Coming out of this building, you are in a spot with two slides, one leading left and one right. In that place, one of the ledges on the upper side is jumpable. It's only one square long so it's tough to see it, but test all the ledges to the up direction and you'll find it.
  18. Also train that Surskit, it gets Water Sport and Bubble Beam by level up. You'll get rid of the burning field al the very least.
  19. I haven't played any other starter in Reborn, but I really really like my Mudkip. Though it gets stuck for a while in the early game with a special movepool that isn't its forte (thanks, gen4), I think it is the least replacable starter in the game. There aren't a lot good water or ground pokemon early in the game, while there are enough grass or fire pokemon (say, Roselia and Growlithe) available early on that can be about as good as starters of those types. I also kinda like having that double weakness to Grasshole and the need to navigate around it every time. Only thing that bugs me is that it becomes available pretty early in comparison to other starters.
  20. Hariyama at Noel. Another point for Hildas case. I burned the field from the start as well, and finished his Clefable with my Poison Jab Rapidash.
  21. Didn't know that Sapphira could be kidnapped either. And that makes even less sense than Laura getting kidnapped. Laura is an E4, but much more quiet and tame than her sisters and we could just say the Doc knows how to handle her various compulsions. Saphirra is an effin bringer of death. And a pissed-off, ruthless, vengeful, dragon-riding, pseudolegend-wielding, gradually hair-coloured, dragon-magazine-frontpage-posing and covered-artfully-in-bubbles bringer of death to boot. These people don't get kidnapped. Poor Doc.
  22. Dear professor, please less theoretical mumbo-jumbo for my next presentation. I wanna play some Reborn. Thanks.

  23. Well, we're all gonna die sooner or later, so having Ame strangle us with the Purple Grip of Death may be enticing after all.
  24. I think Ampharos is more of a longterm keeper due to versatility. I really like it being able to SE damage fire, ice, flying, grass, psychic and dark types with two moves it learns by itself. Manectric is better early, to take on Julias attacks and discharge Shade out of his plant, but without TMs available and for a beginner who may not be interested in breeding moves and hatching eggs or catching a lot of 'mons for each situation and just wants to move on quickly, I'll take the loss of speed for the versatility and extra bulk. I think Ampharos is just the better longterm choise in Reborn. I have to say I don't mind Discharge in doubles, I use a lot of Swampert and Flygon Anyway, its just what each one likes to use or not. And Manectric must be really better for competitive stuff (which I don't actually play).
  25. Manectric's really nice, but I kinda prefer Ampharos. Gets Power Gem for Shelly, Bennett, Serra, Charlotte etc, Signal Beam for Radomous, Luna and Fern, much more versalite. Have your friend join Gang Aqua and grab Rapidash. With the move relearner it gets Poison Jab *cough*Clefable*cough* and Megahorn, learns Bounce right at 45 for Kiki, is pretty nice and neat. Also tell him to grab Ghost X and the Focus Sash for Solaris XD
