[WIP] Every Puzzle Solution & Event Pokémon Location
Monochrome_Complex replied to Lostelle's topic in Reborn City
How do you know which terminal activates which bookcase? I see little colors by each terminal but don't understand them really. -
Sawk can't one shot Garchomp though as he lacks the HP to do so.

I seriously saw two shiny purrloins in Aqua alley within a 5 minute span while training my Nidoking. Since I'm doing a poison/electric dual run I didn't bother to catch them.
-
i thought only Magmar/electabuzz were from earlier too? And wasn't gyrados received a LOT earlier?

[WIP] Every Puzzle Solution & Event Pokémon Location

Can somebody actually explain the logic behind Shelly's gym puzzle? 4 playthroughs at least and I still have no idea what I'm even doing there. I just get it via trial and error or have to look it up. -
Was thinking about PULSE mons, and I'm curious as to which people found hardest and which ones we'll fight later. I think the 3 hardest PULSEs were Swalot, Muk, and Abra. Avalugg was probably the easiest. Though I do wonder how many we have to go? It seems like at least 3 are unfought that have already been mentioned(Clawitzer, Mr Mime and whoever is causing Agate to sleep, probably Hypno). Though IIRC there's multiple PULSE Mimes, aren't there? I imagine the last PULSE might be a PULSE legendary of some sort, maybe the much speculated PULSE Arceus as the final boss.

Cal's "blue flames burn hotter line" was pretty badass. I felt like after meeting blake I was more than willing enough to forgive Cal.

One change about Ep 15 I really dislike(not spoilers)
Monochrome_Complex replied to Monochrome_Complex's topic in Reborn City
If Team Reborn doesn't mind the extra work(lol), they could always redesign the pre-tangrowth map to where it's a bit more intricate(maybe a puzzle of some sort?) since the old layout apparently wasn't up to Ame's standards. -
E15 Spoiler discussion [SPOILERS] -- Spoiler Period Over
Monochrome_Complex replied to Knight_Teutonic's topic in Reborn City
She never used sing once during the fight. Mostly earthquakes, boombursts/hyper voices and acrobatics. I'm losing it at people saying she was too easy though. She was kind of hard for me and took me like 6 tries at least. But then again I've never bred anything and only my Typhlosion is EV trained.- 328 replies

E15 Spoiler discussion [SPOILERS] -- Spoiler Period Over

Getting to team up with a former gym leader to kick the butt of the two biggest assholes in the game was like the most satisfying match yet. And then you get to kick Solaris' ass right after? It's like the player just took 20 levels in badass. I won't lie though, Solaris Garchomp whited me out. Flobot's Breloom had to win it for me. As for Ciel, not my favorite gym leader fight. As someone who never liked the whole Mega-thing(and yes I know PULSE mons are basically the same thing) I wasn't thrilled at fighting one since yet since it means every major from onwards is going to have one . I think it kind of raises questions as to how/why she even is able to obtain a mega device. If that were the case, why was she goofing off at the circus instead of being on the front lines against Meteor? Anbother thing was that she recycled Samson's field which makes sense but since I kind of dislike Big Top it was meh. I was ecpecting to fight her on a highwire platform or something where certain moves would cause your pokemon to lose balance and fall off or something. PULSE Swalot was quite a challenge, guy was tough. Though I always find it hilarious how "pokemon bosses" are introduced." Pokemon Stopple wants to battle!" It's really funny. Overall it's probably one of the most intense episodes in the game. So glad to see julia again.- 328 replies

You. You're the final boss.

Yeah maybe a poll could be used to see if it warrants inclusion or not, although the point about the level curve is a good one. As for the bigger on the inside thing, I just assumed that was due to Pulse Tangrowth making it's own forest and you partially being deeper in the ground. I do miss seeing Flo and Ama getting caught and really the music which was very forebading and cool sounding. Since it's not its own track it's not played anywhere else in the game either :[ -
Is the removal of the map before the first pulse Machine? Why was this decision made exactly? I really liked the atmosphere, build up and especially music of this part, which I feel is now kind of ruined by just making the pulse machine a tree's cut away from the street. I'm guessing it's due to the exp curve and how you'd end up overlevelled by the time you get to Flobot? Idk I kind of hope that part comes back in later episodes. I felt this change was kind of a step back. I mean plant Obsidia is still kind of laggy so if that was the reason it didn't really help much.

Craudberry deserves everything coming to her.

Yeah I always liked the thought of the PC actually being from Reborn, especially since they all kind of look it one way or another. In fact my headcanon even has where each PC came from Vero: lower Peridot ward, guy looks like he used to be a street punk Alice: Beryl(that's where Corey is, right?) as she has a gothy sort of look that fits the atmosphere of the place. Decibel: Lapis ward, as his outfit makes xyr look kind of wealthy compared to the others Kuro: Onyx, looks kind of like a dude who'd spend a lot of time at the game corner Eri: Jasper, she has the most dystopian look of the PCs and Jasper is the most wrecked ward in the city. Lucia: obsidia, seems like she'd hit up the salon and candy stores

I kind of want to do a THUG run myself, fighting/dark. Oooh Tricksters is a good one too, being Dark/fairy. Hellfire: dark/fire Fairy Tales: fairy/dragon Nightmare: psychic/dark Warriors: fighting/steel Pure might: normal/fighting

All these people bragging about how they cream leaders and the game is too easy make me sad, ep 14 Charlotte was a MONSTER for me still and Ciel gave me a lot of trouble too although to be fair I was massively underlevelled(by like 11 levels to her ace for half my team) and had no steel type offense. Even Terra was a challenge, but I admittedly refuse to use items during battle since I feel they're OP'd. I'd say the AI is inconsistent more than dumb, there are some strokes of brilliance in it(Sigmund doubles) but other times they do the most questionable things. I do think people are selling Reborn's difficulty short though, as playing it more does make you much better since you know what to expect(which makes any videogame easier) and what pokemon to raise beforehand in order to beat bosses. Another thing is that as the episodes go on, we're constantly getting more and more tools to use, like now with 15 grinding by the circus is so much easier while beofre you were stuck slaughtering legions of Noctowl and donphan. We also have much better access to hold items and tutor moves, as well as EV removers and EV training items. I think this is the main reason it seems easier, and again while the AI isn't fantastic, that doesn't stop gym leaders from having just threatening pokemon in general. The game is still challenging, especially when you're not using a guide. Honestly I thought ep 15 well post Terra at least was one of the most difficult parts of the game yet. A lot of times even the meteor grunts would have me going back to the center to heal after since they'd deal hurts on a good amount of my team. Oh and to the guy above, drop Noibat. Early game noibat is a trap and a huge waste of effort for very little pay, you're better off catching the level 30 ones later.

The "Top Dog" Swaaaaaaaaaaag Jockey...how did you guys come up with that title anyway? It's hilariously douchey enough that it fits him perfectly. The wallpaper itself looks fantastic too. Who is next? Taka? -
As a fan of Shining Force and Fire Emblem, this sounds incredible. Though I am curious as to whether or not you'll go with phases or turns. Both have their strengths and weaknesses.
-
I tried the Typhlosion strat and could get to walrein, but then walrein or froslass would land a freeze and wipe my entire team. It's not a foolproof strategy and requires some luck.

Reborn's Storyline Choices (Ep 15 Spoiler)
Monochrome_Complex replied to Drymus's topic in Reborn City
1)No way I'm grovelling to Fern. Screw that. 2) I had no idea you could even to the dead one first playthough, so several times I fought Corey with the corrosive field. Pre-15 I actually found him easier with the gas field but apparently Ame changed it so that it turns into a corrosive field instead of a normal one. Yikes. 3) Magma is definitely the more fun one. For glory baby. 4) I'll take that L for 200 please. 5) First instinct is to save Heather. I mean that's like the entire reason you're even there. 6) Downstairs, mainly because Saphira > Laura 7) Depends whether or not i'm willing to beat arceus. Like my team has to be really set up for it. 8) The ring of course, but only due to trying to impress Charlotte lol. 9) Screw this guy, seriously. But I remember your PC turning into a little wuss and handing it to Blake regardless. 10) Titania was just killing, kicking complaining, and swearing the entire time inside the factory. Bad girls don't get rewards. 11) At first I was like nah...but then I got curious, noticed my levels were like all over the place and figured I could go for the exp. Took me about 4 tries, freakin Chatot. Also I never realized it until ep15 that Taka is a flying-type specialist. That explains the scarf.- 56 replies

On my current playthrough, my Greninja(named Strident) and Typhlosion(Dynamite) are my major muscle. The rest of my team rotates regularly but one of those two are must haves. Though I gotta give it up for my Emolga(Kite), he just landed me a victory against Ciel. Idk why but Emolga always ends up like my team mascot who even late game still manages to pull off some awesome moments. Oh man, can't forget Arbok either. Arbok gets slept on a lot like many poison types but he's been such a lifesaver despite falling behind on levels(Ciel forced me to get him up back to speed, thank ame for the color wheel game). Intimidate, glare, and acid spray can cripple troublesome opponents.

How easy Noel is really depends on what pokemon you have. He can still be pretty nasty especially if Porygon Z outspeeds like half your team.

i liked that room, very cool use of battle mechanics in that they influence the actions outside. More of that Ame, please! Episode 15 is one of the most epic episodes yet! The "boss" battle with meteor is probably the most intense and satisfying yet, just great. I'm not liking Ciel battle though :/ You can easily guess why, but I'm not crazy about the design decision.

Due to the Big Top field(ugh) Samson is like the biggest luck-based gym leader in the game. Sometimes he can be not too bad, Other times he creams you. Big Top field is like my least favorite field though. The concept is clever but pokemon already is luck based enough, any field that pushes the luck factor even more usually ends up being annoying.
