I've found myself in a position where my essay would be substantially better with three longer body paragraphs but I'm stuck using four shorter ones simply because the teacher wants it that way. Can't stand stupid requirements like that sometimes.
My AP English teacher pretty much lets us set it up however we want for that very reason. She hates it when she knows people can do better, but screw themselves because of length/layout requirements.
