I'm actually really excited for this arc of the anime, and this is why. Spoilers for the Mega Evolution Specials

I'd actually counter this statement entirely. It is stated at the beginning of the game that it's largely because of waste and pollution in Reborn City that Pokemon don't want to live there, so if Adrienn cleaned it up then I'm sure there will potentially be some new Pokemon in Reborn. That being said, I think the bulk of the available Pokemon are going to be available in massive sidequests. I'd predict Oshawott being available in the Coral Ward shack (where Cain got his), Bulbasaur/Snivy exploring the Malchous/Rhodocrine Forests, Shellder/Tentacool/Slowpoke/Frillish/Staryu available via Super Rod (probably in E16, not definite), Pinsir/Heracross (the one you didn't pick) available in Aventurine Forest, as well as Scyther, Azurill, Shroomish, Togepi, Drilbur, Axew, and Vullaby being available in the city somehow. I would also bet on maybe one or two of the pseudo-legendaries to become available, probably Dratini or Larvesta.

Regardless of what it originated as, I just think it's a fun time of the year just to spice up the otherwise uninteresting month of October! Even though I might not trick or treat anymore, I don't see anything particularly wrong about it (except maybe the over-commercialization of costumes). Overall its just a fun time to hang out with friends in costumes!

Be careful with your general team composition. While you certainly have a few powerhouses here, you are bogged down by a lot of redundancy. Darmanitan and Blaziken are both great for fire physical sweepers, but you have only fire and fighting type moves on them. I recommend axing Darmanitan entirely. Furthermore, Meowstic, while I know it is a godsend early game, really underperforms at this point. Consider replacing Meowstic with Ralts/Abra, or if you can't go back to access those two, consider Lapras to cover your special attacking side, as it can get psychic, surf, and ice beam, all of which are objectively useful for Ciel. Although I'm sure you don't want to do so much training, this eliminates the need for a weak blastoise (that really doesn't have use for choice band/physical attacks). Swalot and Zebstrika I can't really say too much about. The only other thing I think you should do is certainly diversify with some TM composition! You have a lot of physical and special STAB moves but I recommend you consider toying around with some other moves. (Some people will crucify me for saying this, but I don't think you need to waste your time learning IV's or the complicated Ep 12 breeding for egg moves system, just work with what you have and don't be afraid to try new Pokemon from post-Agate City!) EDIT: Some Pokemon that I recommend you consider picking up that you can at this point for this gym:

You mentioned that you have a bad nature, about 1/3 (?) through the game you can go to 7th Street and get that changed for a heart scale, which is pretty sweet!

TIL that "Let's get a little bit rowdy" and "let's wake up all of the neighbors" are rhythmically interchangeable in cheers xD (Our class may or may not have been shouting the former at 1:00 AM in someone's backyard)

I thought you had to beat Serra, get the Medicine from the Pokemart, and THEN you can take on the Tanzan meteors. If you've already done the latter then I think you'd have already gotten the Medicine?

This is my first attempt at anything in this format, so I'd appreciate help on this. I went for a rain/water core with this one.

I can't really say too much about my opinion on the speech/menu frames -- I usually don't touch them that much. Looking at the PC wallpapers, I think it would be pretty cool if you reserved eighteen of the twenty-four boxes for gym leader art. The first ideas that popped in my head would be minimalist wallpapers, a la this, but perhaps with each of their ace Pokemon and maybe some kind of homage to their respective fields? The other six could be basically anything you mentioned in the bullet points. My votes for those six (Maybe boxes 1-6 in PC?) would be Team Meteor motif, generic reborn, and of course the Amethyst/RSE themes. I personally wouldn't be too fond of external homage PC Boxes, but for speech and menu frames I think that would work great.

I'd certainly choose Village Bridge in Unova, because who doesn't want to live on a bridge??? As a side note, getting to hear that beautiful man's voice (without 3DS soundfont!!) in real life would be pretty sweet. Plus, they have Lapras and Braviary, two of my top 10 favorite Pokemon.

I support what Etesian said, use the guides on the forums and don't be afraid to try something new. Even Pokemon such as Espurr and Kricketot can be amazing for the early game, so just experiment with your team a bit. I did this maybe 10-12 times in my first adventure: If one of your 'mons isn't up to par with the rest of your team, it's not that outlandish to switch it out with something else.
