  1. I like the dual screen and while yeah the super training mini game was kinda boring, it was still nice to be able to EV train exactly how you want from the get go instead of needing to wait till the last quarter to do it with any sort of reasonable speed.
  2. Ah, my sharpedo had like 30 or 31 IVs plus EV trained for speed(and attack). Speed boost would help here if it wasn't so frail against anything it can't one shot. Makes a good lead/revenge killer but imo don't rely on it too much for that gym.

    Magikarp?

Nope, you get an abra in 7th street and locationally connected to the next stage of the 'super rare pokemon' event but is otherwise unrelated.
  4. That happens a lot to many companies that acquire other companies. Short term stock changes aren't a good measure of good business decisions unless you are the investor looking to make a quick flip off a news story such as this, in which case good business decision for you
  5. Sharpedo crunch OHKO her gengar. Unfortunately for the rest of her team its basically a 'do 95% dmg then get OHKOd'.
  6. Lol once or twice? I spammed that reset button to troll my sister for the next time she fired up the game.
  7. *wears plated bulletproof vest* Screw linking up consoles, it did online play first. In fact, if you don't mind running a computer that can literally do nothing other than to troll hackers and researchers, theres linux kernel changes to make your computer emulate the appearance of a dreamcast on the network, so internet scanners faithfully reports that you still have a dreamcast hooked up online.
  8. That only works if leech seed heals you back to full. Which I suppose a lvl 1 pokemon seeding a lvl 80 arceus ought to do the trick.
  9. Theyre at least good enough to get me into the debug menu which is more than enough for most fixes. I figured being inspired by reborn theyd be close enough cause essentials default PBS files certainly didnt do the job
  10. The nice thing about nintendo though is that no matter what hardware they are going with there WILL be some sort of innovation. It may be good it may be bad, but at least nintendo is willing to take risks and if were lucky this new device will be one of the neato innovations.
  11. Well he had earthquake and knew how it affected field, so it was pretty much just a matter of figuring out the right leads, switches, and whatnot to win. A lot of my battles were like that too, getting swept a few times in a row as I scouted out pokemon and tweaked strategy but when I actually won only lose like one or two pokemon. The mewtwo and terra battle will only be as difficult for his for as long as it takes for him to realize its entirely gen 1 mechanics, and gen 1 was pretty easy to abuse Terra was probably the only gym leader I beat on the first try and shofu has a good team to exploit that, especially with a gardevoir.
  12. Makes sense to me, Id support it. Or rather, its part of the Water 1 egg group, so it might make more sense for the field to affect both egg groups to cover other niche situations thatd also make sense.
  13. very well then, proceed

  14. I can hook you up with the legends if you want. Though you'd need to find the pre-nerf episodes downloads on your own(if you don't have them already). Itd be interesting to see if youre right, but I dont wanna do that playthrough myself.
  15. Yeah the seed strat is a good one too that I've used in Jan's Pokemon Rejuvenation. It works even better if you have a detect/protect user on your team. After a death fodder you can use protect, then switch out to more death fodder(even better if said fodder has fake out), and when they die switch your protect in and so forth. Its a pretty reliable method but imho a lot slower than doing a curse route. Also if Ame puts in a boss mon with better recovery ability they may out heal leach seed in the future.
  16. Actually I found two, killed the first one. Both were in the corta forest though. Also might have spoken a bit too soon about the save file fixing. Im coughing up errors cause I apparently can't completely recreate the PBS files. I have an idea to work around that that im gunna try in a bit, but the easy way would be if I could get the PBS folder from you Jan. Currently re-downloading 4.4 to see if the folder got left in that one just in case. edit: My work around is working so far, but would still be nice to have the PBS folder to not inadvertently break anything while trying to fix something. Unless you happen to be using the exact same PBS files as reborn, cause that was my workaround
  17. mentioned them in other threads, but my MVPs would definately be Garbodor and Hariyama. Got me out of so many situations that were rather difficult. Unfortunately garbodor fell off sometime around luna, just couldn't setup anything with him without taking oo much damage despite being otherwise bulky. Hariyama was like 'oh you need that wall dead? I gotcha bro'. Knock off and close combat was pretty much all it ever needed. Thick fat and some decent IVs meant it could take a hit from some mons that would otherwise be troublesome for the rest of my team. Planning my second playthrough to use a more balanced and strategic team instead of just luck cheesing every battle with a subpar team(yes I had protean greninja, no I did not use him to his potential, used him as a bad HM slave).
  18. Well you already fixed two of my saves, only fair that in turn I fix a few others since I figured out how. ------------------- Also wonderguard bidoof run, lets see how this works out!
  19. Welp finally figured out the easy mode to making changes, so not only can I unstuck myself, I can unstuck other people too(as well as temp fix move issues/abilities, and the occasional broken event). Plenty of people are around to fix Reborn saves, but Jan is pretty much the only one to fix Rejuvenation saves, so Ill keep my eye out for issues in this thread to help out(less work fixing saves means more dev work I imagine ).
  20. I didn't have destiny bond so I used a quick claw perish song(kriketune lvl 50-something), which was close enough. My team is/was not geared towards those high level boss battles at all, so I have that little trump card to deal with those situations. Really trivilizes those fights but hey he healed my toxic damage so If he wont let me stall2win, then he gets a lifetime supply of cheese. edit: One idea I had that might do this play through is play with a ghost pokemon using curse. Still stall2win but afaik can't be full restored so easily.
  21. Im fairly in the 'manly' camp too. But I tell you, branch out a little bit and youll be surprised for what awaits you. Champs like Garbodor and Hariyama can be a lot stronger than they may seem at first glance and aren't 'girly'. With a little leg work you can get Gallade and Aggron too(which may be my goal in my next playthrough, skipped both first time around), etc. Also arcanine and houndoom are fairly easy to get.
  22. Yeah I really liked XY, it was linear yes, but linear in the way all pokemon games are secretly linear. The 3D was a much welcomed overhaul compared to previous gens that have been cited for awhile now for having archaic controls. Gen 6 also utterly redefined the competitive scene. Maybe not for the better, but a lot of the new pokemon really changed things. I mean we have a new typing and everything. Gotta keep in mind a large chunk of new stuff wasn't new pokemon, but changing old ones too with megas and what not. The plot line was fairly standard for pokemon games, except a tad higher cause the whole Flare conflict didn't feel like a mandatory side quest like previous gens. Yeah reborn's story is better, but it's also a story geared for more mature audiences, which you happen to be a member of. Its kiinda unfair to compare two plot lines when one is for your demographic and the other isn't.
  23. Keep in mind, game freak always has and always will make it so the optimal strategy is something a child can achieve. They are the primary demographic. Its cool that pokemon is in depth and varied enough to support a competitive environment, but they will never put focus into making the main games more difficult/challenging/require strategy as it's literally against their business model. And thats why we have awesome fan games that ramp up the difficulty for a more mature audience,
  24. figured out how to mod pokemon for perfect IVs(and EVs were trivial). Only corrupted my save once in the process :) backups are OP
