  1. So I died to aelita outside the goldenleaf gym, and it sent me back to the laboratory, complete with redoing the boss fight. Just a bit weird.
  2. For those ability capsule hunters, whispy laboratory, first room to the right at the bottom. Happy hunting.
  3. I have one, but for the life of me cant recall where I got it. Pretty high up on my item list, so somewhere early game. Maybe from the request board?
  4. Considering I assume its inside what I assume is the one underwater, Id say so lol
  5. Ah it appeared forced, oh well. Im in the goldenleaf town at the part where they throw you into the jail. Got out and got caught by the little kid blocking the cave(wanted to see if that was supposed to be the way out or not, no biggee) except instead of throwing me back into the jail I got thrown into the wall of a poke-mart and got stuck.
  6. I found it a bit odd that after beating the 3rd gym you go back in and get facade, when I already got facade from the casino. Might want to switch one of the two so you aren't repeating TMs. Also what was up with the gothita? I chase it all around the mansion, till it runs into the gym room, but youre forced into a battle and then when you win you can't return. Idk if it's a mistake or if its just something you return to later. edit: found one of the itemfinder bugs in the storage room. Says an item is on the far right, but nothings there.
  7. well always a water and flying type for travel reasons. I pretty much just go after pokemon I prefer aesthetically, and apparently my concept of what seems cool lines up with game freak's idea of what a strong pokemon should look like. I tend to gravitate towards the pseudo legendaries(though I was disappointed with dragonite, preferred his early stages). Sometimes it leaves me with a very unbalanced team but eh thats life
  8. Uhh duh? Its the same as reborn. the idea is to git gud, not overwhelm the enemy with levels. If you don't want a challenge, go play some other pokemon game. Kinda pointless to hop on a thread and complain about something that is pretty core to the design concept, and one of the reason why the fanbase likes the game in the first place.
  9. What do you mean? Its not like the league is the government. They aren't responsible for the quality of roads. If you can't make it then you don't deserve to be champion. At least that was always the point of victory road. Im just saying, that we playing the world as a game are only going to ever see the game mechanics blocking us from progression. If the reborn world was real life, thered be tons of ways to get past the obstacles. Not to mention a lot of obstacles that hinder the player are entirely momentary. No one ever said the grand gates were the only way in or out(the player didnt use them to get out afterall). Not to mention its been repeatedly stated that a lot of the degradation has occurred over only the past decade. The gates used to be open, the railnet system was running, water was blue, more gyms were active inside the city, etc.
  10. Id like to add my male meowstic also never got prankster. Seems like this has been an ongoing problem with pokemon essentials itself, as Ive seen a bunch of other games have similar issues.
  11. I kinda relate it to a similar headcanon I've had for the main games(that have been partially supported by the anime), being that there are multiple gyms all over the place, and multiple avenues to get there. I.e howd those victory road people managed to get to victory road(and ergo have 8 badges) with only two pokemon. The games just take a more linear approach to show YOUR progress and path to get there. Kinda like how we cant surf on poisoned water, but Cain does no problem without surf 'cause grimer. If we were playing the game from his angle, the paths and whatnot would look totally different. For shade, either Ame knows more about him than we do, or being a sentient ghost he took over an abandoned gym and no one saw reason to deny his badges. The orphanage case is a bit of a stretch, but the Dr DOES have legal authority(though has committed likely countless crimes and should be arrested), so it's possible the league doesnt have the authority to get them out and in the mean time were using reserves ala Aya after corey. Hard to tell with Saphira but we don't really see her full personality and motives yet, only her claims and actions.
  12. Sephiroth, if only for the nostalgia feeling of being the first villain to kill a character off(well, first I had seen in my childhood, obv not first period). Also have to second Kefka. I headcannon that only reason why you are even able to win in the first place is him getting bored. His setup was perfect too, from joke miniboss to 'screw everyone, I dont care what everyone planned, I WIN'. Dark Gaia from Terranigma. Just man, wow. Amazing not necessarily for any dialogue or character design, but amazing for the philosophical implications. Terranigma is relatively unknown these days despite being one of the best RPGs ever including present titles. Spoilers for those that don't want to fire up a SNES emulator and play it(though you absolutely should):
  13. yeah, its entirely possible you did, just with meowstic being so fast and OHKO they never got the chance. Maybe give one of them a focus sash to go with the knock off? edit: Go to the dimensional rift volcanion except uhh the sprite for it is a hoopa?
  14. Completely unrelated to all the bug stuff, but perhaps want to give one of keta's pokemon a good attack against psychic types. Maybe you did and it just never got used on me, but my lvl 28 meowstic holding a twisted spoon absolutely obliterated keta entirely by itself. Only had moderate sp.att IVs and good speed IVs, but psyshock OHKO 4/6 of his team. Lucario was left spamming potions till he died and for some reason medicham only spammed detect till it keeled over. It might have died if medicham used something else and RNG wasnt favoring me, but to utterly demolish the vast majority of his team without them even being able to retaliate was pretty nuts. Maybe just removing twisted spoon would have been enough to make it more fair, idk.
  15. Not really a huge deal, but the path to route 3 is open for me despite not having the second badge. If this is intentional then I will point out amaria congratulates me on having my second badge already. Definitely not as big an issue as some of these other bugs, but something to add to the list I guess xD
  16. I ran a fairly similar team as you did,and yeah hariyama wrecks luna pretty hard despite her move coverage. Thick fat hariyama is just boss in general. Can almost always count on him to tank nearly any hit or two and get in the crucial knock-off/close-combat Radomus was almost difficult, but on like my second try he let me setup my Ampharos via spam charge beam. Eventually it just had too much sp.att and one shot the rest of his team. Was the difference between a 5-0 sweep and failure.
  17. yo dawg, just beat the first gym and got pulled into the simulation thing except I cant leave. I get stuck in the door. Tried completing the simulation(despite gimped, still damaged mons from the gym) hoping some event trigger would pull me out but nope still stuck. ill attach my saved game so you can check it out.
  18. well to be fair that was an exceptionally easy one, literally press A on everything. Only part I coulda seen him tripping up was the potted plants part.
  19. That part was pretty good, especially since I had literally the exact same line of thinking as him. I was kinda disappointed that it was simply handed over, cause the scene would have been 100% different if Charlotte had been present. Honestly id rather have it that if you said no three times in a row, you stuck to your guns and didn't hand it over. Just have him say fine, and then snag it anyways(hes too slick for you). Zero story impact, but would feel less like a cop out.

    "The Axe"

Sounds like even better reason that you could move vanillite early game. If the main questionable gym leader has 2 full team members that can easily deal with it, and at least one more that isn't bothered by an early ice type, sounds to be pretty ok to me.
  21. Name: Team Requiem goal: Transcend mortal limits and become power. Team Requiem isn't concerned about controlling pokemon, thats easy and the pokemon itself still holds all the real power. They want to take the unbridled potential of a pokemon and infuse it into the human body, to become unstoppable forces themselves. World domination is not a goal, it is simply the means to the end. Leader: Dr. Jackal. A brilliant scientist that worked with a now defunct Team Coven. Team signature: A triple helix Important Admin: Prodigy Evan: uses only ghost and water types but is afraid of the dead. Considered to be a child prodigy because no ghost type pokemon can/want to refuse him, however he prefers the calming effects of water types. He'd rather be a lazy womanizer, and possibly becomes a turncoat to Team Requiem and help stop them. Project Deity: Team Requiem's claim to fame. A test-tube baby that had its genes spliced with mew cells. He copies abilities from pokemon to fuel his power. Harbors a strong hatred of his creator Dr.Jackal, not for being misused or anything 'supra edgy' like that, but because he feels like Dr.Jackal is working too slow to unlock Deity's full potential. team history: Dr. Jackal was an admin of Team Coven, an organization that wanted world domination to settle some silly dispute the leader had as a child. It was inevitably destroyed by a ten-year old kid, but Dr.Jackal escaped with his research documents and his assistant Evan. Dr.Jackal was always obsessed with perfection, and believed that even 'perfection' could be surpassed. All you had to do was change the paradigm. Other teams saw perfection of controlling their idea of the ultimate pokemon, so Dr.Jackal decided he could one up them and become the ultimate pokemon instead. the legendary: Team Requiem already has their primary target being mew. Now they are pursuing any and every avenue they can to reach their goals. Whatever pokemon they need to get, and whoever they need to crush to get in the way. --------------------- If I was to actually use this team, the idea would be the player teams up with old members of Team Coven and bring it back with the singular goal of stopping Team Requiem. Which I suppose would create chances for moral dilemmas, where the former members want to return to their aggressively violent old ways to win, and you the player knowing that well what makes that different than any of the previous failures and team disputes of the past?
  22. Youre too late. Thats a vaporeon, and the eevee line are inspired by foxes Hes already one of us.
  23. nah, I've seen stupid before. This isn't stupid, its a mistake and mistakes are there for learning.
  24. Uhh thats probably your issue man. Those files are pretty reborn specific. If you try to use those in raw essentials things aren't gunna work out well for ya. edit: Id use the pokemon.txt file, but for playing around with making your own stuff, use the default encounters.txt until you start making your own maps.

    "The Axe"

As for fitting in the setting, could have some sort of event where the pokemons been sitting in someones freezer and giving the owner a headache(since they can't reach their food and whatnot). A bit overly simplistic, but ya can see how you could still justify an early icetype.
