  1. Celebi is a nice choice too. Can even tie in to Reborn's past, like that HG/SS giovanni event. We could go back in time to save someone's life, or even prevent a catastrophe. Or the other way around...
  2. It wasn't actually a personal attack. And it was you that didn't read my rebbutal in the first place. And made thinly veiled insinuations of idiocy on my part (remember that Twain quote?) But don't worry. I won't contribuit further on this topic. Since I won't waste my time further with people who are challenged in reading comprehension. (FYI - that was a personal attack) Samekh out.
  3. For Florinia I would advice a Trubish. Spam Toxic Spikes to badly poison her pokes to give you a massive advantage against her, especially Cradilly, which has Recover+Leftover and a lot of bulk. Simple Swoobat is a life saver, especially if you get a couple of charge beam boosts - just reck her with air cutter. Makuhita also fares well against Cradily and the rest of her team. Good luck.
  4. Nothing. I love sheep. So cute and fluffy. And tasty too. Nom nom. Heck, people can even behave like sheep, if they want. I don't care. Peeps can do what they like as long they don't infringe in my life. However I like to think of myself of a mouflon (let's see if you can get this reference, senpai~)
  5. I tried to give you, in simple terms, a conceptual framework that explained my reasoning, and why different words mean different things, while commenting on the concept that you presented. Seems that was too big a reply for you to read (from your comment). It also seems to me that you could benefit from reading some nice psicology books, especially behavioural psicology ones, before touting words like objectification and now crystalization. Your arguments aren't wrong per se, just seem biased. As most people now-a-days, because everyone goes to the same biased sources. Oh well, who cares? Them people love to sheeple.
  6. Seems that my post was quite inflamatory. Good. It was written to have such an impact. However it seems that my snark was misurderstood. The point I was trying to make was that objectification - seeing a multifactorial, living being as a simple abstract construction made of only a couple of attributes - is an universal fenomenon observed in all mankind. It is part of our psyche. Of our brain's way to simplify the world around us. We objectify plants, animals, people, reality itself. It is a part of our conceptual constrution. That's why I used the quotes around objectification - because most people use it erroneously, since it has been misused by the recent "feminist" movement (there's those quotes again). So Kurotsune, here the both us come at an odds. When you say: I would change the term to empathy - Empathy is the capacity to understand what another person is experiencing from within the other person's frame of reference, ie, the capacity to place oneself in another's shoes. What you say here: Everything you said in your post (and said very well) could be said to be atributted to a lack of empathy - war, famine, rape, hate... Also, one could argue: "But objectifying a person is showing a lack of empathy!" Yes and no. We all objectify at a first glance, so that would depend on what happens after that first evaluation. Humans are visual, visceral creatures - we take those visual qeues and make assumptions based on them. And I can understand why people would use "objectification" as the go-to concept instead of empathy: Empathy requires one to look inside - to compare, contrast their feelings; and to most of the time you're confronted with the facts and feelings that most people can't really digest properly (I can't relate to him/her because he/she reminds me of my father, who mistreated me, i.e.) Objectification is such a simple process - the other is there: he's black, or a woman, or gay so he has all these challenges, so I have to be nice to him/her. One is a path of introspection and the other is simple observation. It doesn't help the fact certain powers that be are actively trying to generate dissent but no solutions to social issues (#banmeanwords) The terms and concepts we use are very important. They show how we truly perceive the problem at hand. So Kurotsune, I maintain that yes, objectification is a non-issue. However, lack of empathy... Well, that's why the world is in the state it is now, isn't it?

@KosherKitten please don't don't stab people. At least not with knives. Use bananas. Or other nice, soft things.

  8. Hah, "objectification". Such a loaded word now-a-days. Mainly because a certain group's agenda and merrymaking. And certainly misused in the mainstream media and said group. News Flash: Every single human being on this planet "objectifies". It's part of our psicological construction and the way we perceive and recognize the world around us. Men, women, gay, straight, whatever in between - we all do it. We do it everyday, on the bus, while watching TV, etc. Oh well, seems to me certain parts of the world have become overrun by the politicaly correct police (here's looking at you US and certain parts of Europe). Everyone and everything just has to behave and be inside a certain norm. Just seems to be like another form of branding and control to me. Seems to me that there are more important issues going around in the world that mere basic human psicology functions. tl;dr - everyone "objectifies", don't worry about non-issues, worry about real problems
  9. Yay for Blastoise! Welcome to Reborn. Don't worry - everything's fine and dandy here (prepare to lose your sanity and peace of mind ehehehehe)
  10. Yeah, Ralts is really frail and meek looking, but Gallade looks a dashing knight and Gardevoir looks like a elegant mage. The first time I saw Gardevoir in 3D, way back in Colloseum, I was wowed. Looked so cool. Their Megas take this up a notch too.
  11. It looks amazing! But what pokemon could meatboy? The Darumaka line maybe?
  12. After two days of breeding, shiny Modest Ghastly and shiny Adamant Male Ralts finally!

  13. So fancy, so magic I love it - make it so, Ame! Navy carracosta looks very nice too. Snowball Victiny is nice - since Victiny has traits of a desert fox, this one looks like a polar fox somewhat
  14. I would recommend Flygon aswell. It meshes very well with the rest of the team, and also gives some coverage that you could benefit. A Steel type would also be beneficial to your team - Scizor would be the best bet, but since we can't get i yet go with Metagross or an Aggron (perhaps a Steath Rock + Sturdy lead, to break Sturdy and Sashes) For coverage and sweeping oportunities you could also use Galvantua - Timid / Compoundeyes / StickyWeb, BugBuzz, Discharge, ThunderWave - Set up StickyWeb and cripple with Twave to make a path to your sweepers.
  15. In Portugal, Spain and Italy people greet each other with kisses on the cheek, normally two kisses, one on each cheek. The closer you are to the person, the more physical contact there is - you can also give the person a hug and you stay in close proximity to him/her. In some places even men greet each other this way (normally family members - me and my father and grandfather greet each other this way i.e.). In France I think people also greet this way, but not with as much proximity.
  16. Your band's history sounds familiar. Have you been interviewed by MTV Portugal? I think I heard something about a new band from Cascais that was making some waves... Oh well... I liked your songs so you got my vote anyway.

    Teams

My team is currently very understaffed. I've just opened the bixbixon wasteland so I'm gonna catch a nidoran M. Here it goes: Blastoise - Caught: Starter / Ability: Torrent / Nature: Modest / Moves: Water Pulse, Aqua Tail, Bite, Rapid Spin Arcanine - Caught: Rescue Policeman Quest / Ability: Intimidate / Nature: Jolly / Moves: Flare Blitz, Crunch, Outrage, Flamethrower Swoobat - Caught: Underground Railnet (Onix Ward entrance) / Ability: Simple / Nature: Lax / Moves: Charge Beam, Psychic, Air Slash, Calm Mind Herdier - Caught: Quest / Ability: Sand Rush / Nature: Jolly / Moves: Crunch, Retaliate, Roar, Reversal - going to be replaced soon Piloswine - Caught: Bred from egg (mother caught in the cave in front of the powerplant) / Ability: Thick Fat / Nature: Jolly / Moves: Earthquake, Icicle Crash, Trash, Ice Shard Just caught these two. Both are shines. Gonna raise them to fight Aya. Magnemite - Caught: Powerplant / Ability: Sturdy / Nature: Mild Trapinch - Caught: Onix Arcade 10.000 coins / Ability: Hiper Cutter / Nature: Jolly
  18. Just got a Jolly natured Shiny Trapinch, only after five minutes of soft resetting. How nice

And now I just got a shiny Mild Magnemite in the wild, after a couples of minutes of searching. Looks like today is my lucky day.

  19. Thank you everyone for welcoming me so kindly. Here's to rocking the forums
  20. Here's my two cents. Typhlosion: It gets extrasensory from egg moves and nature power from TM. tha would seem like better alternatives to cut and smokescreen. Swampert: I would change the ability to torrent, since self destruct moves ingame are rare after Julia. Torrent gets more use. Also I would modify it's nature to an attack or a defense based role, instead of a mix sweeper. Other pokemon fare better at that. and on that note, remove surf, since it becomes redundant with waterfall. Venusaur: Kinda slow and fragile to set up sun by itself. You could run a timid nature, with growth, giga drain, sludge bomb and sunny day. Giga drain can make it recover health so it has more staying power, while it sets up growths. Alakazam: Remove Flash for charge beam - you gain coverage and the special attack boost are frequent and nice. Using calm mind with alakazam is tricky - it's very frail. Flygon: Seems ok, just remove rock smash for a coverage move, preferably fire ou fighting (superpower is perfect) Togekiss: Switch Super Luck for Serene Grace. I would switch aura sphere for extremespeed - priority +2 is always nice and aura sphere is redundant with flamethrower. Also your team is very vulnerable to ice types. I would recommend removing either venusaur ou togekiss, and replace them with a fighting type. Mienshao is a nice choice for you team, since it uses u-turn and has regenerator, giving you alot of chances to switch in your other fragile team mates, like alakazam and typhlosion.
  21. ^ This The guy just wants to promote hype and his reasoning is consistently faulty. The only thing I see in his videos are hyperbole and logical leaps that make no sense.
  22. In Ubers setting Multiscale Lugia takes the cake. It just keeps on living and annoying. I love it. And a quick list of a few tanks I use (from most useful to least IMO) Physical: Skarmory, Foretress, Regenerator Slowbro, Regenerator Tangrowth Special: Blissey, Claydol, Eviolite Chansey All rounders: Umbreon, Bronzong, Eviolite Dusclops, Weezing
  23. Umbreon master race here. Leafeon is also nice. Love the concept of a half mammal/half plant creature.
