Podcasts are voice only internet shows. And quite a few of them are quite good. Like WtNV. So... why haven't you looked up and listened to it yet~?

Leech, they at least theoretically have medical properties... Do you listen to Welcome to Night Vale? (If you don't, WHY??? GOOD PODCAST IS SO GOOD!)

What role do you want to play? (Nitros Trainer Selection)
Lorekeeper replied to Solarance's topic in Resources and Tutorials
Ooooooooo, can I do the Fairy Leader? Please? If so, would you rather: a patisserie (cake and candy~~~) or a Magical Girl (a la Sailor Moon)? The choice is important, so I know how to characterize her (him? xyr?). -
Want to be a trainer in Pokemon Desolation? It's your lucky day!
Lorekeeper replied to Caz's topic in Resources and Tutorials
Hmmmm. I may just go through submitting trainers to all of these fangames. Oh well. Would it be possible to add in Nurses/Doctors, like BW, for the longer areas/routes? I think that may be useful, so you don't have to constantly rush back and forth to heal. Lady/Ace Trainer/Nurse? Seine/Charis: Whimsicott/Sylveon Meowstic Aurorus/Audino Chandelure Staraptor/Blissey VS. "Oh my, are you lost, perhaps?" Lost (if not nurse). "Well, the way back is [wherever]. But watch out for the [rare Pokemon on the route]!" Lost (if nurse). "Would you like me to heal your Pokemon before you go? ... [heals Pokemon] ...And watch out for the [rare Pokemon appearing], alright?" Won. "Oh my! Do you need a Pokecenter?" -
Sounds interesting, and I'll definitely play (eventually), but... Fusions. Every time I see them, I can't help but think of Nina Tucker from FMA. And then I'm sad.

Yeah, pretty good for spending about five minute searching on google and the Touhou WIkia, if I do say so myself. ...Looking back, I think I made Rochelle a somewhat unholy mix of Cain and Rarity from MLP (...despite never actually watching anything beyond the first 2 episodes about three years ago...), but eh. She's fun! Also, the dual-functioning gyms is also something I had from the game-idea I stole Rochelle from. I think the funniest was either a cartographer for Flying and an Idol Singer Dragon leader. Or possibly the spy of a Bug leader. (For those wondering, Seren's gym is a garden/greenhouse center a la Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh. Highly recommended if you come here. It even has a butterfly garden!)
-
Yay, Rochelle has a team! And it has a Carbink and Aurorus! It's everything I've ever wanted!!!
-
Edit: Okay, we're good. Aaaaaand I should sleep. Edit 2 - The Returnance: IDEK what Rochelle should look like. Refined, I guess? There may have to be multiple sprites of her (shop/mines), considering. I guess... blue or purple themed? Because Graceful Ladies Like Purple. Name: Rochelle de la Pierre Type: Rock Team: To be announced, as I'm not actually responsible for it. (Hope it has at least some gem-inspired 'mon, tho) Personality: Rochelle is... different, let's say, from most other Rock leaders. As in, where they're rough and tumble, she's somewhat more elegant and refined. Somewhat. Her interest in rock types mainly grew from a love of gems and other earthly sparklies. Or, rather, a love of what she could make from them. Because Rochelle is a jeweler, and probably the best in all of the nearby regions. When she isn't training or battling, she's tucked away in the workshop above her gym (which is built over several huge mineral deposits, for easy mining. Minigame excuse, anyone?), working on her latest creations. These creations often end up in the hands of the rich and famous, and many Pokestar Studio celebs can be seen sporting her designs. She's also one of the few people able to create proper Mega-Bangles, and recognize Mega Stones, so she's quite invaluable. And not just to the protagonist... (Were there some sort of gem-based power source for, say, a giant, region-cleansing superweapon, she's the girl you'd want to facet it, evil teams.) That said, she isn't some ultra-feminine, "oh, I broke a nail!" sort of girl. Rather, she's quite tough, and usually seen in clothes somewhere between "formal" and "mining appropriate", as she rushes from job to job. It often frustrates her customers, challengers, and assistants, but she doesn't particularly care. She loves both her jobs, and wouldn't trade them for the world. Cheerful and somewhat troll-y, her true personality shines through when she's in the quarries or working on her jeweler. Once she's in her shop, "Bijou et Fleur", she becomes a shrewd, yet undeniably elegant saleswoman, polite and soft-spoken, while retaining a rock-hard will that denies any argument or haggling. (It's rumored she's emulating someone, but just who that is, no one knows for sure. Her mother? Diantha/Cynthia? Someone totally random?) There's really only one thing that will break her facade when she's in the zone: Sableye. She hatehateHATES the little gem-eating kobolds, and absolutely refuses to deal with them. She's actually gotten in trouble with the league for refusing to fight trainers with Sableye in their team, and probably has the record for facepalm-inducing complaints in the system. She sees herself as something of an older sister figure to Seren, and (on the few days she's not working), can be found attempting to drag the timid girl into doing things that make her uncomfortable. Like looking for geodes. Or going to rock concerts. Or skydiving (that one earned her some singed eyebrows, courtesy of an angry Volcarona). Her favorite Pokemon is undoubtedly Diancie, and she owns quite a few Carbink (possibly including a Shiny?). Theme: VS. Diancie! or VS. Diancie 2) Or perhaps... Kaguya Houraisan's Theme (Pokemon Style~!) (Kaguya, for those poor souls who don't know their Touhou, is a Lunar Princess based on a Japanese fairy tale. She's not gem or rock themed, exactly, but some of her attacks involve jewels) Quotes: *Intro: "Hello~! Welcome to --- Gym! D'you like the jewelery on display? I made it. You see, I fell in love with making such beautiful artwork with my own two hands. Once I decided to be a jeweler, using rock types like Carbink just seemed like a natural fit, you know? It's been a long road to running a gym, I suppose, but I haven't really noticed--I've been having faaar too much fun! So why don't I test to see if you can get through our rock-solid formation?" *If you have a Sableye (not really, this is a joke): "EEEEEEEEEE! THAT THING! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! GET OUT OF MY SIGHT THIS INSTANT! OUT!!!!" *[MC] is instantly transported outside of the gym* *Last Pokemon: "Oooh, will I lose? It seems likely, but don't think I'll give up so easily!" *Loss: "Hahaha! That was one of the most exhilerating battles I've had in a LOOONG while, dear. I must say, I'm quite impressed. Your team was like an exquisitely faceted gem--all different, but coming together for a gorgeous whole. Please, accept the Quartz Badge, as proof of your talent. And here! Take this TM, too! It's [whatever] and it [whatever]." *At her shop: "Welcome to Bijou et Fluer. I am the proprietress, Rochelle de la Pierre. Is there anything that's caught your eye, perchance?" *If you have a 'Mysterious Stone': "Hmmmm...? Oh, why, this is a [watever]ite! Would you like me to fashion a holder, so that your Pokemon can use it?" *With Seren: Rochelle: "Come on, Renny! I promise, this time it'll be FUN! Not like what happened during skydiving... or the concert... or that thing with the sewage treatment plant--man, haha, what was I thinking that time?" Seren: "Seriously, 'chelle, I just--can I please just stay here today? I was writing a plot idea and--" Rochelle: "Nope! Gotta get you out and about again, darling! You agree, don't you, [MC]?" And, just to be through: 1. Is there anything your character likes to do outside of battling? "Why certainly! I enjoy crafting my very own accessories. I also like to mine in the various quarries across the region for that perfect gem~!" 2. A trainer comes to challenge your gym with only a lv 1 Rattata. What do you do? "Oh... oh dear... I'm afraid you might want to reconsider, and catch a few more Pokemon. Especially since Normal types don't do particularly well against rock types." 3. The same trainer challenges you and is beaten with ease. He seems kind of bummed out. How do you react? "Ah, well, loss builds character! Come, dear, would you like to go down to the mines and see if you can excavate a fossil? If you can, I'll let you reanimate it, free of charge!" 4. A different trainer challenges you and he completely sweeps you with ease. After receiving a badge, he yells, "Wow, what a scrub. Glad the other gym leaders aren't as pathetic as you." (Eh...I tried. You get the point though right?) *blinkblink* "If you don't get out of here or shut up right now, I'm going to use my actual team against you. Let's just say it won't be pretty, kiddo." 5. What is your favorite season/climate? "Hmmmm... well, I'd have to say late summer/early fall, right around when it's getting cool, but before all the leaves drop. Perfect mining weather, if I do say so myself!" 6. Is there any type of music that's your favorite? (ie Rock, Rap, Metal) "At the risk of sounding, uh, cliched, rock! I also enjoy listening to classical music when making my jewelry. It's quite relaxing." 7. What does strength mean to you? "Strength is a diamond-hard force of will. But one must make sure to remain constantly vigilant, for such a will is often brittle, and shatters if enough force is thrown against it.." 8. There's a terrorist attack in your city. They have hostages trapped in a building and ask to give into their demand. What do you do? "Why, attack them, of course! I'd leave the panicking and discourse to Seren. I despise haggling, after all." 9. Is there any love interest in your life? Rochelle: "Why, are you volunteering~? Hehe, kid~ding! No, I'd say my darling Seren is my very own love interest~~" Seren: "Hey now! You leave me out of this! It's not like thaaaat!" Rochelle: "Kidding, dear! Hahaha, you get wound up so easily, don't you?" (No, she and Seren aren't a couple. She just likes to troll.) 10. Would you care for a battle right now? "Why certainly! After all, I've just found a lovely amethyst to use, and a battle is just what I need to get the creative juices flowing!"

Ehhhh, I don't see it as "cheating" so much as "quickening the stupidly pointless padding you need to sit through for good Pokemon". When you only use it for hatching eggs or speeding up movement, Cheat Engine is less "Cheat" and more "Convenience". At least in my opinion. But hey, to each their own. Like I said, I can't really change your mind.

Yeah, I know, just wanted to see if anyone would find it interesting (I'm kind of stealing the idea from one of my own unfinished fangame plots; I wish I could have had fairy... patisserie/Magical Girl gym leader, anyone?) Rochelle is coming along nicely (and I think she'll be a bit interesting, if I do say so myself). The Steven Universe bit isn't serious, though. I haven't watched the show, but the idea of a jeweler talking about the Magical Girl gems is kind of funny.
-
Anyone want to see Rochelle be a jeweler responsible for crafting Mega-Bracelets (if they're gonna be in this), and other plot-appropriate items? ...And a possible love for Steven Universe quotes (just for the lulz)?
-
I honestly cannot imagine the patience required to do that. I was angry just trying to get a female for breeding purposes! Speaking of which, it honestly might just be easier (and possibly more convenient, in regards to egg moves) to breed one. Using a cheat system to hack for quick eggs/hatching is really easy, and relatively safe (I've never corrupted a save file, but I'd back one up just to be secure). Still, you can do what you want. I'm certainly not gonna stop you.
-
Reborn has officially ruined me for other games. I'm finding Touhoumon Faith & Prayer annoyingly difficult due to a lack of trainer and waaaay too many puppets I want to rotate.
-
Just have fun and be prepared for one heck of a ride. Also, don't be afraid to stalk the forums if you get stuck (which you will. Trust me. Everyone does.). We'll be happy to answer all of your questions and fix your problems.

Gen 3 vs Gen 5 Tiles - Which side are you on?
Lorekeeper replied to Caz's topic in Resources and Tutorials
I'm just gonna quickly weigh in on this: I don't really care, whichever you find easier/more fun. Seriously. Both G3 and G5 are great in their own way, but I'd rather a quality story and mechanics with an ugly appearance then the reverse. Just keep up the amazing work you're doing so far, and I think everyone'll be happy, appearance be damned. (But really, I have no preference. 5 might be more polished, but 3 is nostalgia embodied, as everyone else said.) -
ASDFGHJKL I WANT TO HUG IT! ...But seriously, guys, this just keeps getting more and more interesting as it goes on. I literally cannot WAIT to play the demo. (It takes precedence over the new PMD if the scheduling comes to that, just so you know~~~)
-
Yay, I got in! <3<3 Oh, and I forgot to post a theme, didn't I? I can't really decide between these four, truthfully. But, they're all all fairly appropriate for a bug gym leader: Wriggle's Theme Wriggle's Theme (Golden Factory Remix) Yamame's Theme Yamame's Theme (O-Life Japan Remix) Any thoughts? (For those who don't know their Touhou characters, Wriggle Nightbug and Yamame Kurodani are a humanoid Firefly and Spider, respectively. Wriggle is also the "Bug General" and can control other insects, while Yamame can manipulate diseases.) Oh, and I also just want to say something about Seren's "neutral" stance: It only lasts as long as her siblings are safe. Much like Saphira's. In other words, if Black November were to, say, kidnap her brother/sisters for some reason, she'd essentially go on a raid to retrieve them. Possibly teaming up with the MC in the process. Knight Templar Big Sister, anyone?
-
Yeah, like everyone else said, they raise happiness. They're pretty much entirely responsible for the majority of my happiness-evolving Pokemon. Pickup FTW!
-
Oh, they're the gym trainers. As in, Seren was too shy/awkward to find enough people to serve as challenges before her, so she recruited her siblings. They're also a big facet of her personality, because, for all of her awk, she still tries her best to spend time with them and help them.
-
I'd like to apply for the Bug Gym, if possible. Name: Seren Vesperis Age: 18-20 Team: *Volcarona *Galvantula *Scizor/Armaldo *Scolipede/Leavanny *Vivillion/Yanmega/Vespiquen *Heracross/Pinsir (possibly Mega?) Personality: Somewhat timid and awkward. An aspiring writer, with a love of fantasy and Sci-fi... even if she can never finish her stories. Also something of a perfectionist, according to people in her town, though she insists she's just "making things clean/safe". Also, if you value your life and/or time in the league, do NOT hurt or threaten her siblings. *She also has OCD, which manifests as a fear of germs and dirt, as well as touching "unclean" things/people/Pokemon. Seren began her foray into training bug types as a kind of "exposure therapy", to lessen her symptoms. It's mostly working, but she occasionally relapses. When that happens, the gym is temporarily closed, or left in the hands of her younger brother (who is also her [honorary] second in command, despite being 6-8 years old) and sisters (12-14 and 16-18, respectively), who can issue a "Raincheck Badge" (it allows the trainer to skip her puzzles/possibly fight less of her Pokemon?). When she is relapsing, she can generally be found hiding in her parent's home near the gym (she lives in an apartment, but goes there when really panicky), internet binging with her Joltik. *Seren is basically nice, though she has some irritability, and her tendency to leave the gym (and her training) for extended periods of time earned her some criticisms from the rest of her town. Even when she isn't relapsing, she can seem a little odd, and occasionally refuses to be touched, even by her family or Pokemon, which is obviously off-putting to her challengers. Still, she tries, and can push past her OCD in a crisis, even if she's secretly panicking. *She isn't personally involved in the goings-on of the region outside her town... unless her family is involved. Then the fury is unleashed and she sics her Volcarona on the perpetrators. *Her sisters are named Melissa and Tina, while her brother's name is Claros. The girls are somewhat typical teenagers, interested in music and fashion. They favor the "butterfly" 'mon. Melissa, the older, is more or less Seren's assistant/second in command, and takes care of the gym when she's unable to. Tina is somewhat more interested in hanging out with her friends, but she works with Melissa when Seren can't. Her brother is also a more or less typical, cheerful little boy, with a love for Pokemon, and a wish to travel when he's older. He generally uses some of Seren's "tough"/"cool" bug types, like Scyther or Heracross. He likes playing with her Pokemon, and can often be seen getting rides or helping to take care of them. Personally, I don't care what she looks like, though goggle or glasses to give her "insect eyes" would be appreciated. The gym can look like whatever, but a flower garden/greenhouse complex would be kind of cool. Having her Vocarona or a Joltik next to her (even if it isn't used in battle) would also be appreciated, especially if you could sprite it so that the Joltik is on her shoulder in the Vs. Sprite. Her siblings can basically just be like generic trainers, or cut out, but I'd greatly appreciate them being left in, if only to reinforce the "oh lord so socially awkward"/"protective big sis" vibe. Quotes: *Intro: "Um, hello! Welcome to --- Gym. I'm Seren Vesperis, the leader here. I started training bug Pokemon as a way to deal with, er... well, with my OCD. Haha, I used to be terrified/disgusted of/by them, way back when I started, actually. But now I'm a lot better, and the league actually recognized my talent with them. Crazy, right? ... Um. So... yeah, you want a battle, right? Then I'll show you the skills I won from my own fears!" *Last Pokemon: "Ack! Seriously? Well, It's not over just yet!" *Loss: "Whew... that was great. Inspiring, even. I should probably write that down before I forget... Anyway, since you won, I hereby award you with the --- Badge, which [insert level cap/HM use here]. And--" *steps back suddenly* "Ah! Er, can-can you not touch me, please? I'm still working on that, ahaha... Haha..." very quickly: "Well--here's your badge and the TM for [whatever]--sorry if I freaked you out--good luck--bye!" *runs out of the door behind her* **Melissa: *enters* "...She ran out again, didn't she?" *sighs* "Sorry about that, she's... well, she's trying. You should probably head to wherever you're going next, I doubt Seren's coming back soon." *At her parents house: "Wh-why are you...? Um. Yeah. Sorry I ran out like that, I just... I freaked out. It's--it's a thing that can happen, sometimes. I'll be fine, but... I don't think I be going back to the gym today, sorry. Maybe I'll actually get some work done on one of these plot ideas of mine while I'm here... Or start writing a new one, most likely..." *Vs. Claros: "This is my big sister's gym! Isn't it cool? She lets me play here all the time!" *Claros lost: "Wow, you're strong! Maybe even as strong as Seren!" *Vs. Tina: "A challenger? Hope Seren's up for it today. She's been kind of touchy lately." *Tina lost: "Yeah, my sister's a bit... weird. Don't let it get to you, okay?" *Vs. Melissa: "Oh, hey, where are you going? You need to beat me before you can even think about challenging my sister." *Melissa lost: "Ow. Go right ahead. Seren's waiting... probably. I don't think she left, at least..." Oh look, it's a questionnaire: 1. Is there anything your character likes to do outside of battling? *Internet binge, hang out with her siblings, play video games, attempt to lessen her OCD, writing. 2. A trainer comes to challenge your gym with only a lv 1 Rattata. What do you do? *Attempt to convince them to catch some more Pokemon, or at least train a little bit more. 3. The same trainer challenges you and is beaten with ease. He seems kind of bummed out. How do you react? *"Well, that's okay, it's not like I got here on my very first try. Why don't you come back after some training, and I'll let you skip the challenges if you want?" 4. A different trainer challenges you and he completely sweeps you with ease. After receiving a badge, he yells, "Wow, what a scrub. Glad the other gym leaders aren't as pathetic as you." (Eh...I tried. You get the point though right?) **Glares* "You do realize I'm using a team tailored for your level, right? Gym Leaders aren't allowed to use their strongest Pokemon if a trainer doesn't have enough badges." 5. What is your favorite season/climate? *Winter! Although Seren occasionally, awkwardly, corrects herself to "Summer", while looking awkwardly at her many ice-phobic 'mons. 6. Is there any type of music that's your favorite? (ie Rock, Rap, Metal) *Pretty much anything not rap. Or annoying. Seren has misophonia, as well as OCD, so loud or repetitive noises can bother her to the point of splitting headaches. Classical music is probably her favorite, due to a lack of words, and irritating sounds. 7. What does strength mean to you? *"Pushing past your fear and being willing to do things, even if everything in you says not to." 8. There's a terrorist attack in your city. They have hostages trapped in a building and ask to give into their demand. What do you do? *"Honestly? Probably panic for a few minutes, before deciding if the ransom is worth giving, or trying to ensure the hostages safety as carefully as possible." 9. Is there any love interest in your life? *Hahahahahahaha nooooooooooooo. Seren is... incredibly socially awkward (although she can converse with only mild to moderate anxiety), and has yet to find a guy (or girl. or non-binary person) who actually interests her romantically. 10. Would you care for a battle right now? *"Um... sure? I mean, I was just-- I had an idea I was going to... yeah, okay."

Done, but one ear bud breaks immediately after you get them. I wish my sisters would stop watching bad "Reality" TV shows.

What diagnosed disorder(s) do you live with?
Lorekeeper replied to MoneyMadam's topic in General Discussion
I... have OCD and anxiety due to it, as well as either ADHD, Aspergers, Depression, or a mix of them. Plus an autoimmune disorder that MAY or MAY NOT be responsible for just about everything (according to my mother, who is an RN and did a lot of research on it), which is attacking my thyroid. Truth be told, though? I honestly don't care that much, now that I'm out of HS... Which I couldn't finish, btw. I was completely unable to handle the people by the second half of senior year, and ended up just... bouncing between a specialist charter school (which may have been even worse then the public school) and just doing it from home, with a specialist teacher. The OCD is probably the worst, though. I mean, the thyroid thing, I don't care about. I'm taking meds for it, which helped, a LOT, and now I can actually wake up at a normal hour, instead of sleeping 'til 4pm and staying up until 5am, among other things. But the OCD... It's mostly Contamination OCD, so it makes me constantly worry about germs, and has gotten to the point where I'm disinfecting and washing anything it deems "unclean" at least once a day. I barely go out anymore because it convinces me that I'll get dirty and/or sick. (Back before I became a hermit, my hands would just crack open and bleed all the time, since I was washing them so much; they still do, sometimes, but not as badly.) It also gives me weird, intrusive thoughts (especially if I see or hear something unpleasant), which cause me to obsess over things I dislike, such as gory/creepy scenes or even just germs/dirt/gross things. The anxiety also flares up sometimes (spurred on by those obsessive thoughts), to make me fear for my own, or my family's safety, esp. my brother's. The thing I hate the most about it, though, is that I can't touch my family, or pets. It's not as bad when I'm out of the house, but, as I spend most of my time in my house, it creates a vicious (and awkward) cycle. I could have it worse, though (WAY worse), so I'm not complaining... much. (If you noticed I'm separating myself from the OCD, good job! I just started treatment for it, and one of the things I'm supposed to do is acknowledge the the OCD impulses are NOT what I want, and are NOT rational. It's kind of working, too.)
