The reason why he pulled out a gate was that he was afraid the MC would fix things in Goldenleaf before Ren himself could, which has been his goal for years-- He even said so before the battle with Narcissa starts! He probably got bitter of the fact that his goal has been achieved by someone else, he felt useless and angry, and therefore he joined team Xen, to carry out revenge on the MC for having snagged the glory from him. And believe me when I say that every character has their purpose to the story, as does Ren. Jan knows what he's doing with him. But more will be revealed in time, you simply have to wait. Don't jump the gun on a character that fast when there's still much more to the story that has yet to be told :V

Mawile is easily taken down with strong fire moves. If you have flamethrower or flare blitz, you're pretty much set.

To make a backup you have to search for your save. It's a file called game.rxdata, which can be found in your saved games folder. Just copy the file and paste it somewhere else, and then you'll have your backup :V But idk about that, maybe you should post your save in the savefile troubleshooting file for that.

He actually joined after the 4th gym, so he's a new member. There's actually more to it than the eye meets, but more will be revealed as the story goes on, of course! my suspicion is that ren is just super salty that the mc changed the ordinance in goldenleaf before he could and joined xen in a fit of rage but... there's more to it i think :V

Just back up your game.rxdata savefile and start a new game or continue on the original file if you want a different save. I do believe there WILL be a way eventually to have multiple savefiles, since I tested it before. jan tried adding it in at one point, but it was super glitchy so that won't come back for a while until he figured out how to fix it

A move tutor is needed to learn it ancientpower. You can also breed it onto swinub with kecleon, piloswine/mamoswine or dunsparce as the father. Kecleon learns ancientpower at level 21.

I think it was a reward for finding someone from sheridan's boyfriend? I think you had to rescue it from a sableye and you'd be able to catch it. You'd have to talk to the girl in one of the houses first tho -
another tip is trying to get rid of venam's pokemon first. once you did that, then the battle will be much easier if you have a few good fire/fighting moves against saki's pokemon.

Yep, Sableye was available and you were actually also able to catch gothita earlier on (route 2), which would be a big help with keta. Also, zubat was available early, and its... kind of my fault that that one became available much later on golbat was so broken against keta holy shit

If there's a registeel, then there's also regirock and regice, so iirc you can find two out of three gems already. just look around a bit more i suppose.

Nah, he actually does have people who work on the game as well (including me, I do spritework for the game and have been helping him out with updating graphics as well), but he still does most, if not all, the coding and mapping himself. He still has to do most of the work.
