  1. Grass simply because I like a challenge and grass is the worst possible mono-type for Reborn. It has many weaknesses and for each of those weaknesses save flying there are two powerful trainers who use that type - Corey, Shelly, Cal, Aya, Bennet, Serra, Blake, Charlotte and Ciel.
  2. About once per year I got an urge to play a pokemon game and find some new fangame to play. About a year ago I found Reborn. I'll never understand how I managed to miss the best pokemon game ever created until just a few weeks before E15 community release. I wish I could have been around longer than that.
  3. Ame said there will be a new Reborn website in the next few weeks with about a week-long unavailability because of the migration. Do you think we should expect the E16 community release before or after that?
  4. Actually I believe that no-items run in Hardcore disables items for most NPCs as well to make it fair.
  5. In the meantime I edited my answer above because I forgot to mention the battle-style feature so you might want to re-read that. Please update your first post when you decide about battle-styles and items usage.
  6. In my opinion a good way to make a game significantly more difficult is to disallow usage of potions and similar items during battle and forcing battle-style set. That's why I asked for no-items mod in Hardcore and want to play that when E16 is out. Your mod will likely use one of two options: - leaving potions enabled and battle-style switchable like normal and balance the difficulity accordingly - in this case I won't play it because my rule is not to use potions and this mod will most likely be impossible to beat without them - lock the battle-style to set and disallow potions just like Hardcore no-items mod does and make it "easy" enough to be beatable with these restrictions - if this is the case, count me in! I think you should pick one or the other as this decition will greatly affect the overall difficulity and it's likely impossible to balance this mod for both. Also one more thing. The main thing that's making regular Reborn too easy even with the competetive teams (not sure about Hardcore as I did not play it yet) is AI stupidity. If this mod will just use OP mons to outweight AI's messups I'm not sure if I can enjoy playing it. I think improving the AI might be a good start. You might want to talk to Commannder about this. I think he made some changes to the AI for Hardcore although probably nothing significant. I'll watch this thread to see what you choose. I'll decide later whether or not to play it based on your decisions. Anyway good luck!
  7. Well I don't mind reading it while being on another plane of existence. :-D Found a Berserk release chart. It seems it's only getting like 5 chapters per year and right now is on hiatus again. I think I'll give it a few more years at least. Like until the last Game of Thrones book is out - I'm postponing reading those too.
  8. Hey I love this image! Fern finally got what he deserves. It feels very satisfying. Who is the loser now? Do you think Berserk will actually be finished some day? I really want to start reading it when that happens.
  9. Well Ame did say she was out of bad TMs. So we should get something useful in E16 finally. Some pokemon like Umbreon and Gogoat are terribly useless without some good TMs / move tutor attacks. I'd like to get something for these two.
  10. Well it's true that my Leafeon doesn't know Wish. It's a nice suggestion, thanks! Too bad there is no room for Sunny Day. Both Synthesis and Leafeon's ability would benefit from that. The main reason why I found Leafeon useless is that there is simply too many bosses with primary type supereffective against Leafeon - Corey, Shelly, Cal, Aya, Bennet, Serra, Blake, Charlotte and Ciel. Against other bosses some different Eeveelution was far better than Leafeon too. Like Vaporeon took down 4 of Terra's pokes, Espeon defeated Samson all by itself and Sylveon crushed Arceus pretty much alone. There was just no place for Leafeon too shine.
  11. Leafeon proved to be completely useless in my eeveelutions-only run. I mean more useless than literaly any other eeveelution. Even including Flareon. What's so good about it in your opinion? It has very bad type both offensively and defensively. It can't learn any useful non-grass damaging attack. And it rarely survived more than one round because of it's horrible HP and spdef stats so it couldn't do anything after swords dance. Can you give me some advice how to use Leafeon? Yeah it's cute but from my experience that's unfortunately pretty much the only thing good about it. ---- Good luck with catching that Totodile. It can be really tricky. Took me several minutes to trigger the battle. Then I of course accidently killed it and had to do it again.
  12. You have a decent coverage against pretty much everything except fire and water. Luckily there are no water bosses in the game so you can skip that. Against fire I'd recommend some water-type. Unfortunately there are not many decent water types available to you at the moment. Seismitoad seems to be a good choice though. It's only weakness is grass type but you already have more than enough anti-grass mons so it doesn't matter. Meowstic is very good mon for the beginning but will slowly become less and less powerful after Aya. I'd replace her with Gardevoir when available which should be soon.
  13. In regular E15 Reborn the AI messes up very often. For me like 3/4 of all gym/boss battles were heavily influenced by AI's mistakes - making them far too easy. Is Hardcore using a different / better AI?
  14. Is iPad using the same operating system as a macbook? If so then you might be able to install wine and play Reborn with that. I just don't see a point in doing such a thing because the game would not recognize touch events anyway and you'd have to use some sort of virtual keyboard.
  15. Congratulations! :-) Just wait for Ciel. Her team is extremely fast and can hit pretty damn hard. But your rock types will certainly help against her so maybe she won't be as hard as Charlotte or T3RR4. And if you want to be extra-careful her team is surprisingly vulnerable to water types.

    Closed gates

I don't think that Team Meteor will try to use legendaries for their puposes. I mean that was what literally ALL the evil teams in the main games did. Reborn clearly doesn't go that way which is a very nice change if you ask me. I'd be really disappointed if that would change. So please no legendaries. Personally I don't expect to actually see the field in the game anytime soon or at least not with legendaries. The fact that a field is implemented does not mean it will be used in the same episode.
  17. Oh, right... Nice work! It might help the people who will try to update the poke-locations list.
  18. I think you're overthinking this a little. For one the event previously wasn't a Misdreavus but a Gastly (with exactly the same dialogue). I think it's just a ghost playing a prank on you. The battle against Medicham may have only occured in the PC's mind too - or that's how I ended up interpreting it because it makes no sense for the Misdreavus/Gastly to just create a pokemon much stronger than itself out of nothing.
  19. The life orb in Ametrine is only accessible through a glitch. Leftovers can be steal-duplicated from Indra. That's sort of a bug too so you should rather use pickup. Second Focus Sash is in one of the wasteland's caves. It's documented in the in-game item guide topic so I won't go into details. Eviolite and choice items are not available afaik.
  20. The other pokemon were somewhat limited - like they were only available in the mystery egg so you couldn't even pick which one you got. I don't really count that as "accessible" since they were not available for all people. Pinsir and Heracross were there already but it was not possible to catch both. Now it is.
  21. After first playthrough I forgot most of the story as well. That's why I even took notes when I played the second time. After third playthrough I think I remember almost everything. The only thing I forgot is if there was anything about Magikarp down on 7th street. I mean a guy told us he sold it down there but I'm not sure whether there was anything about that when we reached the 7th street. Anyway I recommend waiting for E16 release and then start a completely new game. Or if you like a challenge then wait for E16 Hardcore CoM which will add some more cool stuff too.
  22. Politoed was never a limited event, it was just wrongly marked as such before. Budew and Beldum were event pokemon in E15 too, nothing new there.
  23. So we finally get a Togepi, Klefki, Tentacool, Shellder, Pawniard, Staryou and Frillish. Plus all Kanto starters. And Goomy. I might have missed a few others too. EDIT1: And it seems that Magnezone and Metagross were not axed after all. EDIT2: We can get both Pinsir AND Heracross now? Oh and you should probably fix Politoed's availability from Limited Event to Evolution. I mean it should be the same as Slowking right? The field effect seems pretty generous to most legendaries. What could it mean? We haven't actually seen any real legendary yet (Arceus was fake and Mewtwo was a glitch). I don't expect to see any in E16 either. My guess is that this field effect is meant for the future and probably won't be used in the game yet.
  24. Is that a confirmation that Adrienn will use A-Ninetales in his E16 gym battle? :-)
