  1. While your conclusion is all too true, we could still discuss the means to which one gets to that conclusion. As Thomas already pointed out, he has a very peculiar code of ethics in which he holds the truth, no matter how terrible it is, to a very high standard; thus he would seek to reveal the truth if he had the power to do so, regardless of the consequences. Biboo, on the other hand, seeks to give the truth as a means to help Amy get out of her delusional state, perhaps in better hopes that she would snap back to reality with a better head on her shoulders. My question is not on the consequences but, rather, on one's choice and their logic behind said choice.
  2. I have recently passed through Amy's house (after many hours of having to train up a few new team members to combat the previous gym leaders) and found a rather interesting, yet seemingly normal given the game's direction thus far, event. So upon seeking the HM Surf, you find Titania writing in her diary regarding her life with Amy and, specifically, the dilemma she's placed herself in: either live an unhappy life with a delusional Amy or reveal her lack of romantic feelings and possibly break Amy. Titania, then, confronts you for reading her diary, demands the player to never mention her confession to Amy, and then Amy overhears some of the conversation and demands the player to tell her what was being kept from her. The player makes a choice to either tell her or with hold the information, however Amy still finds out Titania's true feelings. Cue broken heart dialogue and depressive actions ensue... Now that we're all at the same part, and therefore with the same information, I wanted to look at the two bolded items in an ethical sense. Titania made the choice, out of fear, to essentially pretend she had romantic feelings which did not exist; her hopes were that Amy would eventually sustain herself and move away from depression. In essence Amy no longer cared for her own well-being and only cared to exist so long as she had Titania, a bit of a step up from being truly depressive (which is very fatal) but I digress... The player's choice, now, was to either with hold the information or tell Amy. I'd imagine that many players went through this particular decision without thinking much of it, however I actually had to pause and think a bit on it. If this were a real situation, with very real people... and very real consequences, would I choose to tell the depressed individual that they were not loved back the same way by their lover? We are taught a very basic ethic, that "the truth will set us free" (Christian upbringing so I'm projecting a little bit from that experience) but then again at what point is it better to not give the truth? I ended up declining to tell Amy the truth, seeing as there was great potential for her to end up killing herself it didn't seem like the choice that would bring about the most good (begs to question what "good" is though that's another topic for another day). Though delusional, Amy had potential to eventually learn to accept the truth of her situation even if Titania had to work with her for an extended period of time. Had Titania never made the choice she did to begin with then maybe things would be different, however we have to work with what we have at times. What are the forum's thoughts on this? Did anyone else think this much into this choice? On another note, here's hoping Fern finds his way into a furnace and never leaves. :Kappa:
  3. That's an amazing idea regarding the berry, never thought of that!
  4. I'm actually going to try to just kamakazee Arceus with two electrodes I just caught, both lv 60. Here's hoping for an easy win! Update: Electrode's Explosion took off about a fifth of health, fast but definitely not helpful unless RNG gives me a few statics.
  5. So I've seen many comments mention the focus band, something that more than a few times I've attempted to locate but have never been able to find. At this point in the game I'm about to fight ditto Arceus and the only strategy I have that would allow me to progress without having to start hunting for a pokemon with sturdy is to use the focus band and curse Arceus with my Dusclops... ...but all guides I've encounter thus far have mentioned that the focus band is located in the dept. store 3rd floor, which isn't the case with my game at all. Any help on this matter? If not then I guess it's back to a training montage.
  6. HQ is a hero now in DC continuity?
  7. Now that I think about it... I actually drew myself as the Flash some months back... and I made a painting...
  8. Oh jeez, I actually dislike Big Bang Theory with a passion! Though I am very much a Flash fanatic, currently going through the New 52 series as well as the Justice League arch.
  9. Nope, it's raining at the moment actually. I'll get back to you after I change the weather. It WAS the weather! Should probably update the sticker hunt guide to include the weather requirement. Thanks again, dude.
  10. Abra out of the way.. now Fern's in the way...

      Fern IS the way.

  11. So I've been pretty consistent with finding stickers on my own accord, in fact my game hasn't really given me any troubles at all thus far accept for this potential problem. I found a lady out in the forest near Spindel town, suffered from a broken leg and needed some medicine. I purchased the medicine, gave said medicine to her, and figured she was going to return back to her original location (something about the pokemon center), however I have had no luck in relocating her... at all. Anyone else facing the same problem? Update: Problem is resolved thanks to the weather. Is it possible to update the "on the hunt" guide for the sticker events to include weather requirements?
  12. I ended up taking a slightly different approach than what everyone else was suggesting, though the comments are greatly appreciated for getting through this... trial. I, first, captured a Belsprout and Oddish for their "sleep powder" moves. I knew that if I could just get a few hexes in from my Dusclops then I would be good, thus the strategy was to bait a hyper beam using my Skuntank, send in one of the grass types to get a sleep powder during the recharge time, and then switch out for some hexes. My Dusclops wasn't able to knock out the Abra but luckily my Meowstic had the sucker punch ready for the final blow. Great success!
  13. That is news to me, that would explain the focus sash disappearing.
  14. Regarding that Abra... I seem to have misplaced my focus sash (I KNOW I had one and I'm certain I gave it to one of my main party but no one has it...) and status effects don't work on Pulse Abra for two reasons: none on my team are nearly quick enough to get off the first attack (otherwise I'd love to give him a toxic to the face) and he spams dark pulse. Out of four or five battles I've only seen it use hyper beam maybe three times... I was successful at getting off a curse on it though that only lasted one turn. ONE TURN! I've seen in other threads that I should bait the hyper beams so I'm currently doing the Topeg event to raise it... I may use that Toxicroak as well to help bait. I really need to find something that can put that Abra to sleep after I've baited that hyper beam... but then that defense!
  15. So I've played maybe... twenty or more hours into Reborn now and I have MANY impressions or "Oh crap"s that have been generated. I've seen something like this already earlier in the morning (morning for me at least) but I couldn't find it again, so here's mine. "Go Garchomp!" More like a chump... hehehe- 75!? "I'm Fern." Sounds like a loser's name... "I'm Fern... and that guy's dead. People die, oh well." Loser and a real ass... "I'm Fern (because Fern always has to announce his name before he can speak)... easy gym... easy gym... stupid gym leader and easy gym." This guy deserves a punch to the face. "One pokemon and it's an Abra? Sound be easy... HA! Thought I'd be surprised that it was PULSE and 75? Thank again, I've already beaten that Stee- dark pulse?" In all seriousness this Abra is giving me serious trouble...
  16. Definitely Tales of Symphonia for Game cube.
  17. My reborn career is now complete! Anywho, thanks for the warm welcomes.
  18. I'd suggest getting yourself that event Espurr \still use mine and it's been my biggest weapon thus far in almost every battle. The event budew is also extremely helpful and is, again, another one of my bigger secret weapons. Your noibat, as I've found with my own, is going to pretty much get killed by every attack and not do much damage... I would suggest replacing it out for something else, at least temporarily until you get up to the 50 lv limit. And as the other forum members suggested, you will want to capture some other pokemon to at least act as damage shields and to act as switches for your main team. Finally if you're having problems with training due to speed, then I would suggest looking into a program called "Cheat Engine" which allows you to speed up your game and, thus, all battles. There's a post somewhere around here that gives a link as well as explains how to use it, it's really neat to get around training and what not.

  20. ...because I'm just about as useless as the move. In all seriousness, I'm JC (I want to see some "welcome to AA" responses people!) and I'm a casual trainer that came across this wonderfully difficult game that challenges my own casual playstyle. I've never been competitive (so those Pokemon cards were more just for collecting) and I've always preferred quiet, lonely gaming rather than getting my virtual butt handed to me by my brother... Memorial regression aside... I'm a traditional artist whom currently does quiet studies in philosophy (specifically child discipline and Aristotle), part time work stocking shelves at night while sleeping during the day... and I game off on the side. Questions? Comments? Kappas?
