      Because of course, a serpentine dragon is a reference to Dragon Ball. it's not like most Asian inspired dragons are serpentine or anything, right? Oh, wait...

      Sorry, just about as far of a fan of DBZ and the DBZ fans as you can get. have about the same with Naruto fans each time something based on a ninja shows up

    I hate how people interpret Dark-type as literal darkness. It means to be pokemon who exploit negative emotion (a.k.a. "dark" emotion).

      Well the Japanese translation is literally the "Evil" type, and literal darkness is often associated with Evil.

      one the one hand I agree that that's a lot of fun, I personally like knowing the types and having to think the extra times of "Will this really be the right choice?"

      Technically no but it is very common. Most of the time there is no reason to not to but I don't think people will mind if it isn't. 

       

      Just thinking but I wouldn't mind if it would be impossible to catch dark and ghost types if you play as an apprentice of a christian cult. Or if you make a story about a gym leader to not be able to catch pkmn outside its type(s).

      Good to hear. Actually, the reason is technical since we intend to use high resolution sprites, it'd be impossible to sprite all pokemon with limited time. Not to mention that it'd be awkward to include non-story relevant mascot legends...

    I think the same artist made them. They have the same style of "confidential" font. I also feel that Gen 8 won't come this year since "2018 is the year of legendary" when there is legendary give away every month. This implies that the company wants people to pay attention to Gen 7 games first while waiting for Gen 8 next year.

    I'm quite surprised that this thread exist. There's this artist on dA who inspire me to do this kind of thing also. Actually, I intend to make a request-thread for motivation since the high resolution project I joined has been inactive. I wonder if I should make a new thread or just continue this one. If you are curious with our work, here's what we have. So far, we have more than 300 sprites ready. Still a long way to go, though.

    Legend of Arena is pretty good~ One of the best written fan-game story. The best part is it does not attempt to be dark or mature, but still manages to present a strong narrative.

    I downloaded from mega and it worked fine for me. Not sure about mediafire though. Anyway, I have finished the demo and I really enjoyed it. Sad part is it's hard to find a team member I like. So far, I only have four on my team. While I don't need grinding due to this, I think it'd be great if there's a method for one if I add team members in the future. There are plenty of trainers across Aria so perhaps PokeGear rematch/VS Seeker will be a nice addition.

    Reborn, Rejuvenation, and Desolation excel in different aspect of Pokemon games to the point that it's not fair to compare them. Reborn excels in gameplay design, Rejuvenation excels in aesthetics, and Desolation excels in character interaction choice. All of them are important aspect of Pokemon game and the three games manages to polish it out to be better. Narrative-wise though, all of them has several issues but mostly those issues are overshadowed by the awesomeness so it's not a big deal. Speaking of narrative, I'm curious how far v10 will be into the plot. How many episodes left until the end? Sorry if this has been asked before.

    I get more immersion in playing Pokemon Apex, Legend of Arena, and Postsricptum than any fan-game I have played yet all of them have talking protagonist so I really don't get the sentiment of talking protagonist 'take away' immersion...

      @MaelstromI have watched some episodes and I'm not really enjoyed it. Everything from worldbuilding, characterization, and plot coherence seems messy. TLA has more dynamic battle styles too which the sequel miss. I guess that's what usually happen to unplanned sequel. I heard that TLA is not supposed to have one but Nickelodeon ask for it, what a shame.
