  1. Never really got into VGC so have no idea about the merits of doubles vs singles lol - but as for the structure why not make the best of both and go with a division structure? Make division of like 4-6 and get everyone in the division to play each other for seeding for play-offs.
  2. Depends on how hard the champion ends up being Haha but actually, assuming the final fight ends up being insanely difficult I'll probably end up using - Bisharp for SD + Sucker Punch sweeping - Greninja or Nidoking (Sheer Force) for Life Orb coverage - Rotom-W hoping we get access to Will-O-Wisp by then
  3. #1 I think I played pretty poorly early and lost my Starmie which was the best check to his bulky Ground pokemon, but Bisharp managed to clutch it out right at the end #2 I was getting really worried down the stretch, but I think I made the right switches at the end
  4. Scarf Latios is straight up dumb, also the miss chance on Draco is a scary thing Also some teams occasionally have like 4 mons weak to ice
  5. Howdy, happy first day of not being a lurker
  6. Name: Manning Class: Whatever (maybe Ranger?) Starting Dialogue: Do you like dogs? Ending Dialogue: Ah more of a cat person eh? Pokemon: Granbull Arcanine Manetric Stoutland
  7. Slight tangent to this - but if you also want to try and get good natures/abilities for the pokemon you want to EV train I would also recommend waiting until you get to the end of episode 15. The main reason for this IMO is that the 80 level cap means you will have an easier time getting Pick-Up slaves to lvl 100 so that you don't have to worry about running out of Heartscales. Its also good to wait until Agate Circus to grind since the repeatable trainer battle there gives you both shards and money for completing
  8. That's actually like the opposite of my experience lol - although it was later in the fight Florinia actually managed to clutch out a win against Solaris' last pokemon alone For me hardest fight was 100% Kiki since I had no good checks for her team going in and had to level like 3 new pokemon to get anywhere. On the bright side that fight made me try out Granbull who has been clutch ever since (mono-fairy with intimidate and pretty good hp/atk/def yes please )
  9. Going to use my Spotify library for this - should be interesting:
  10. <3's thanks a bunch this is awesome - adding to my signature right now
  11. For me I would probably want something from Final Fantasy to get that epic Elite 4 kind of feel:
  12. FYI for future teambuilding there is a really useful site that highlights your offensive/defensive team coverage. I had some time so I wrote up the 5 'mon you want to keep and moves here: http://www.teammagma.net/teambuilder/?376|254|260|59|715 The "best" offensive STAB options you are missing (widest offensive coverage options) are fighting, rock, and ice. You have plenty of non-stab fighting attacks so I'd say you actually want to look for rock/ice especially because they both check flying types which is what your Luxray gave you previously. Looking on the defensive side you have no resistances to dark or ghost - so I feel like Weavile would be a really good fit for your team once you get it If you are looking for something right now that you could start using right now here are some other suggestions: - Mamoswine (very bulky and has access to ice shard for priority although doubles up on ground types) - Aerodactyl (extremely fast rock type which is rare, however doubles you up on flying types) - Tyrantrum (two strong abilities and great attacking moves, doubles you up on dragon types)
  13. If you have the time to do one for me that would be awesome <3 If so could I get: - Greninja - Gardevoir - Lucario - Manetric - Arcanine - Granbull With the white gender neutral avatar?
  14. Its been mentioned by a few people above - but for me the awesome thing about Reborn is how much it gets you to invest in your team/world. From event pokemon, to interesting characters with cool stories you get to see develop, to actually having to work hard with your team to over-come leaders and tough fights, to even the progression of who you fight. Length is also a huge selling feature - in just pure # of hours I've logged like several "normal" pokemon games with my team so of course you care a lot more about the team and have cool memories about the pokemon in them.
  15. Pangoro is also a really solid pokemon and you can get Pancham early on in the Obsidia Slums - although I'm not sure how you feel about using Pancham since its mono-fighting until it evolves
  16. Hey Monochrome, Here are some useful links for information on the OU-metagame: Sets Viability Rankings: http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/oras-ou-sets-viability-rankings-v3-thread-closed-see-post-147.3537590/ OU Pokemon by Roles: http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/oras-ou-teambuilding.3523054/ OU Team Ratings: Some people will post really solid top of the ladder style teams which are cool to review both for the team-building process and for unique sets. http://www.smogon.com/forums/forums/oras-ou-teams.261/ The Smog: http://www.smogon.com/smog/issue44/ Happy battling
  17. Hi ShatteredSkys 1. IMHO writing is a personal thing. People can give you suggestions but at the end of the day you will need to synthesize a bunch of different ideas and find a method that works for you. Practice helps a lot. Even full-time writers throw out a huge chunk of their work so don't be afraid to write and re-write 2. I know its mentioned that you don't want anyone else to do actual writing, but if you ever want a second pair of eyes to review dialogue and give comments on what does/doesn't work well I would be super down to give any feedback . I've never written dialogues specifically for games before but I do like to write sketch comedy and would be more than happy to give my opinion on anything. 3. Not sure how useful you will find this but there is a concept in stage acting that I think applies here. The idea is that your characters are completely defined based on two things: a. Their wants b. The methods they will use to achieve their wants All writing for your characters should stay true to these two main points and that's what will make the characters feel grounded and consistent. Each scene is a competition between the characters in it to get what they want from each other. As the story evolves so too can the characters wants and the methods they are willing to go to. For example, we find characters like the "fallen hero" interesting because we see the change from what they were willing to do at the start vs the end of the story.
  18. Catching Beldum I had no idea the catch rate for this thing would be so low; I spent like 2 hours trying to catch it the first time then eventually gave up and gave back with False-swipe and Para support and it STILL took forever
  19. Not sure if you want spoilers on where to find them but: As of EP15 you can get enough stickers to get up to the 10th floor, however you can't actually access floor 9/10 unless you do some shenanigans to go back to an older episode (not sure how its done unfortunately )
  20. oooh interesting, maybe Skies or Arcadia Legends? The whole steampunk airship pirate thing is super cool
  21. LOL love this idea. Quick question, does it save the animation time that normally plays for a shiny? Because if so I'm even more down to use it, those seconds add up quickly
  22. Hope this thread isn't too old for posting this but there was a really cool set on a smogon RMT I saw. It's a mixed attacking Mega Absol to use as an anti-lead against many of the big threats in OU (I did a bit of work on the EV's comparing the original values someone posted below) Mega Absol Absol @ Absolite Ability: Justified EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly / Adamant Nature - Ice Beam - Flamethrower - Knock Off - Sucker Punch Mixed Attacker (Original EV's) vs Common Leads: 120 SpA Mega Absol Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn: 248-296 (70.4 - 84%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery 120 SpA Mega Absol Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Skarmory: 216-256 (64.6 - 76.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery 120 SpA Mega Absol Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Garchomp: 372-440 (88.5 - 104.7%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO 120 SpA Mega Absol Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Landorus: 436-516 (136.6 - 161.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO Physical Attacker (Updated EV's above) vs Common Leads: 0- SpA Mega Absol Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn: 204-240 (57.9 - 68.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery 0- SpA Mega Absol Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Skarmory: 176-208 (52.6 - 62.2%) -- 99.6% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery 0- SpA Mega Absol Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Garchomp: 300-356 (71.4 - 84.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO 0- SpA Mega Absol Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Landorus: 316-376 (99 - 117.8%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO
