  1. Expanding on the color thing, an idea similar to what you did with generations could be applied to a pokemon's pokedex color. Rules: Start with your chosen starter + one pokemon of each of the 3 colors of the main protagonist that you choose. (Some may have more than that, I only looked at, like, 2. If they have more, choose more!) After defeating a gym leader, add 1 pokemon of that leader's primary color to your team chosen from among all pokemon found before the next gym. If this causes your team to have more than 6 members, release one at random. If a pokemon's higher evolution would cause it to change to a different color, it's evolution may not be used. If it starts as an incorrect color, but evolves into the correct color before the next gym, that pokemon is usable. No repeating mons, all mons must be nicknamed, ect. ect... And here's a list of pokemon that are usable up to...Aya I think? I dunno, been awhile since I looked at this list. Note that the pokemon are taken from the monotype listing, so some are changed in hardcore if I remember correctly. What? No, I didn't think of doing this at some point and just not, I would never.
  2. Further on this, I thought there used to be a view-as-code option in the forums before. Was this removed? Currently, if I edit a post, highlight sections of it and press the Code button, the popup only shows raw text instead of that plus any existing formatting and/or hyperlinks. Just pressing the code button gives an empty box that asks for input to insert. If I highlight a section of text and click the Link button, I am given a popup showing any existing hyperlink on the text and can edit a that link if I wish, but going to each individual section of linked text, highlighting, opening the popup, updating that single link, closing the popup, then doing the same for every other link seems...ugh. Its also possible I'm just blind and missing the option or its equivalent though.
  3. Short section, short post / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - Yeah, didn't do much here. Whimsicott sets a Prankster Stun Spore so Mega Mewtwo Y doesn't outspeed everyone before falling to an Ice Beam. Leavany gets in there and X-Scissors it for more than half it's health. Mewtwo gets fully paralyzed, so we just finish it with another X-Scissor. For a gym we're supposed to be favored against, Terra is pretty hard to beat in a straight fight. So we don't. // - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - What is it with Nidokings one-shotting my parties? Not even in just this run either. xD In any case, Gogoat barely survives GIOVANNI the Nidoking's Sludge Wave with the help of a Kebia Berry and responds with an Earthquake. Terra uses a Hyper Potion to heal up, but we just Earthquake the health away again. Terra doesn't like where this is going and just KOes Gogoat with another Sludge Wave instead of healing again. With the lowered health as insurance, we send in Whimsicott and go for Stun Spore. It immediately hits thankfully, as GIOVANNI just one-shots it with Sludge Wave. With the paralysis set, we send in Leavanny to get the Sticky Web down before getting one shot with a Blizzard. 3 down, but almost all set. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - Terra finally decides to Hyper Potion GIOVANNI again while Venusaur sets Sunny Day. We trade a Petal Blizzard for an Earth Power, then Petal Blizzard again while GIOVANNI remains fully paralyzed, but now in red health. We just use Sunny Day so that GIOVANNI will KO Venusaur, but it turns out Terra actually has 3 Hyper Potions and uses the last here. This is wasting Sun sadly, but I don't want to hard switch and so go for Petal Blizzard again. GIOVANNI remains fully paralyzed, but finally KOs Venusaur after another Petal Blizzard. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - // Running out of time, Roserade quickly KOes what's left of GIOVANNI's hp with an op Extrasensory. Then, with the final rays of the sun, we set the Sunny Growth we need to survive CLAYBOYBUNNY's Psychic and counter next turn with a Giga Drain. Life Orb-X-Scissor EXCAKILL tries to to speed in for revenge, but gets stuck in the Sticky Web falls to Giga Drain as well. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - // SWAGSIRE seems an odd choice to send in next, so we just Growth and wait. Scald is a surprising choice, but it does burn Roserade. Still, that's not that much damage so we just set another Growth, eating yet another Scald. Since this seems to be working we set another Growth, but SWAGSIRE reveals Blizzard. While it doesn't do much at this point, its too scary to set up against further, so we just Giga Drain for the one-shot. HIPHOPOTAMUS probably has physical attacks, so we one shot it too. We don't even fear the Mega RAWRCHOMP, but it surprisingly survives the +5 Giga Drain. We assume we'll have to finish with Ludicolo, but it uses Flamethrower, doing little given the Glitch field and Growths.. This does little given the Glitch field and the Growths, so Roserade finishes the match with another Giga Drain.
  4. Doing that sounds like pain and frustration to me, but it does sound nice to watch from a distance. That only use Everstone thing sounds particularly terrifying. Good luck. May your enemies confuse the weakness chart and the IV gods be kind..
  5. Avalugg was actually harder than I thought it would be since it also had Freeze-Dry instead of purely physical attacks. Still - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - Jumpluff once again does his thing against the giant, ridiculously powerful single pokemon, putting it to sleep with Sleep Powder. Leech Seed misses once, but it doesn't wake till the second anyway. Sadly, the second Sleep Powder misses and Jumpluff falls to a Freeze-Dry. / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - Venusaur and Avalugg both miss their first attacks, but next round Venusaur gets the hit, sending Avalugg to sleep with another Sleep Powder. We hard switch to Gogoat and don't get punished, as Avalugg sleeps for 2 turns thankfully. The game is tired of all this sleep-leeching though and just burns the Full Restore next turn, curing Sleep and Avalugg's health, but Gogoat uses the oppertunity to break the field with an Earthquake. Another Earthquake deals a bit more damage but is countered with a Freeze-Dry. Without the field this isn't enough to one-shot Gogoat, so a third Earthquake deals even more damage before Rock Slide finishes her off. / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - Next, we send in Leafeon to use Charm on the Avalugg just in case. The responding Freeze-Dry is still enough to one-shot him, so we send in Venusaur again. Sleep Powder once again proves to be the best hax in the game, sending Avalugg to sleep for a third time. It doesn't wake before three Petal Blizzards and Leech Seed finish it off. Aster's next, but...he has entirely the wrong strategy for fighting us. >.> - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - / Sure that Gogoat can tank anything a Solrock can throw at her, we set a Bulk Up. It decides to set up Stealth Rocks. Ooo not good for Solrock. We set another Bulk Up, but it sets a Reflect. Ok fair enough, we just go for another Bulk Up...it uses Light Screen? omg xD Here, Aster hard switches for Golurk while Gogoat gets in yet another Bulk Up. At this point, I'm sure that there's nothing Golurk can do against +4 Gogoat either, so we just set another Bulk Up...into a Dynamic Punch which confuses Gogoat. Well no big deal, Gogoat hits herself but she has massive defense at this point...oh crap it has Stone Edge and with the help of the field halves Gogoat's health. Thankfully, Gogoat does not hit herself again and gets the one-shot with Horn Leech. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - //// If the field helped Golurk, it really hurt Magmortar, who's Heat Wave doesn't burn as hot in the frigid cold. Stung back to yellow health but very much alive, Gogoat KOs it with an Earthquake. Electivire is sent in, but does basically no damage with its Thunder Punch and falls to another Earthquake. Unfortunately for Aster, Rhyperior, Milotic, and Solrock are all slower than Gogoat and all fall to a single Horn Leech. And of course there's Blake, who took a billion tries but that was mostly just due to me not looking at the battle in the right ways. In this case, me not using Sunny Day because I thought it would be too hard to set without serious losses when I first thought about it. Significantly easier than Charlotte after I found a viable strategy. + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - / + Venusaur and Leafeon lead here, armed with Yache berries to guard against the cold. Blake's two leads both have Blizzard, so we hae to deal with them. Leafeon immeditely KOs Jynx with an Iron Tail before it starts freezing things and Venusaur puts Rotom down with Sleep Powder. Blake sends in Weavile here, and here is our chance; Weavile doesn't know Blizzard. With its speed, it does manage to go first and crits Leafeon with a Life Orb-Poison Jab purely to bypass the Yache berry, almost one-shotting him. Its not enough though, so Leafeon gets to set Sunny Day. Being slower, Venusaur takes advantage of the new weather and gets a 2-stage increase with Growth while Rotom sleeps on. Leafeon won't survive another turn though, so we just have him use Helping Hand, boosting the damage of Venusaur's followup Petal Blizzard to point that it one-shots the Weavile and just barely leaves the Rotom standing. Unfortunately, this knocks out Leafeon and wakes up Rotom. It responds with a derpy Thunder instead of trying for actual damage with a Blizzard, but it wouldn't have KOed Venusaur in any case. + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - -/ + / And after that the fight is set. Blake uses a Hyper Potion on Rotom to keep it alive, but this eats it's turn while Petal Blizzard and Weather Ball take out the Vanilluxe Blake sends out. Next round, another Petal Blizzard finishes the Rotom off while Weather Ball cleans up what's left of Mega Glalie's health after the storm. When Walrein is sent in, it's all alone and falls to a Petal Blizzard/Giga Drain combo.
  6. When you put three children next to three puppies, are the children more adorable or the puppies?

  7. Pure Flying here apparently. Flying Types are free-spirited and big dreamers! They're always looking for bigger and better things, and aren't necessarily bound to what they 'should' be doing. Sometimes this gets them in trouble... but they also have the unique ability to narrowly avoid any dire consequences. Seems fair enough. I think I get into trouble more often than "sometimes," but at least the last point is still true. >_>
  8. That was an awful lot of rain/waterfall/general wetness this episode. And you didn't even have an umbrella! Don't catch a cold! The region needs you! Yeah how come these particular PULSE's require external power sources? In my head, I assumed it was just needed due to Mr. Mime and Clawitzer being stationary and set for use over a long period of continual use. Abra seemed more "lets-try-this-over-and-over-again-until-we-get-it-right-y and Camelrupt was just meant to go boom. The Tangrowths weren't actually there all that long game-time I think, and Muk may have actually been hooked into the power of the plant. That and I assume ZEL learned from the whole Abra-thing and was like "This time, there will be a better off switch..."
  9. Thanks alot for this. I, and I'm sure many others, love what you've done, even if I don't truly appreciate what it takes to actually do it. You and the others have done some really nice work with all this and I hope it helps to say so. Enjoy your break; may life treat you well. Also, oh god, does that mean I have to try and fight the awesome-ified leaders in my current playthrough? I'm doomed.
  10. Porygon is kinda weird. I would never look at it and think bird but I'd certainly argue that it could be one. For what its worth: -1 bird point on the Magmar list here. Anyway, good luck with your run. Beware of power plants.
  11. Huh. Interesting, never knew about that. Good luck fixing it. Hope I sent the right file >_> After the Luna fight the game takes pity on us and we are given a bone with Samson, who is mostly easy just due to the general strategy of our team. / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - We start with Leafeon against his Hariyama. Hariyama's got no way to buff itself, so we start Charming. It tries to Brick Break and Smack Down, but after 2 Charms it really doesn't deal much damage. Hard-switching to Gogoat now, we just go ahead and set 6 Bulk Ups. Hariyama goes through its entire move set, but at the end of the 6th turn it hasn't even halved Gogoat's HP. In the end, Gogoat one-shots it with Horn Leach, restoring his health to full. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - // Mienshao outspeeds and gets in a good High Jump Kick, but Horn Leach still one-shots and fully heals Gogoat. Mega Blaziken doesn't even get a turn, falling to an Earthquake before it can even act. Heracross tries an Earthquake, but even at OVER 9000, its still doesn't do much. It is tankier than I gave it credit for though; it survives Horn Leach. We go for another, but Samson heals it to full with a Hyper Potion. I think I see where this is going and have Gogoat go for Bounce, but instead of healing again Heracross just uses Megahorn, doing a pretty large amount of damage all things considered. It falls to Bounce, but Gogoat is almost at half HP. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - / Still, Hawlucha's Flying Gem-Acrobatics is not enough to take out Gogoat, so we get to try for another Bounce. Surprisingly, Samson uses the oppertunity to switch in his Conkeldurr. This would have actually been annoying as far as sweeping is concerned...but we miss the Bounce xD. We trade a Horn Leach for a Poison Jab on the first round, but Samson uses another Hyper Potion on the second turn, allowing Gogoat to completely heal and KO Conkeldurr at the same time. Hawlucha enters again and sets a Swords Dance in our face. Since Hawlucha would actually counter sweep everything now, this next Bounce is rather important. Thankfully, Gogoat's aim is true and Hawlucha falls. Aster and Eclipse were no trouble either, but really, we all know its just build-up for the next fight, right? + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - / + / Lunatone blasts Ludicolo with a Moonblast for a little damage while Solrock sets up a Reflect, but neither means much in the face of Ludicolo's followup Rain Dance. Dragalge does a little damage with Sludge Bomb, but Ludicolo's Surf next round wipes the opponents from the field. Thankfully Dragalge is pretty resistant to the waves. Magmortar and Rhyperior both tank the Surf, but Magmortar's Hidden Power isn't strong enough to KO Ludicolo. Phyperior might have had something to say about that, but Dragalge's Hydro Pump silences any objections it might have had. + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - / + / Golurk is sent in to replace the KO'd Rhyperior. Eclipse uses a Hyper Potion on Magmortar to heal up it's damage and because of it, another Surf manages to not quite KO both the opposing pokemon. An answering Bulldoze from Golurk lowers everyone's speed, but it thankfully doesn't KO anything but Magmortar. It does manage to annoy Dragalge, who finishes it with another Hydro Pump. That speed hit is an issue though, as Mismagius outspeeds now though and finishes off Ludicolo with a Shadow Ball. Electivire's Thunder Punch is also enough to KO Dragalge through what remains of its health. + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + Mismagius's Mystical Fire does a tiny amount of damage to Nidoqueen while Electivire's Life Orb Rock Slide does a fair amount of damage. It sadly causes Gogoat to flinch, but Nidoqueen's got her back with a super effective...something(Earth Power? I didn't catch it in screenshots) at Electivire, lowering it to almost red health. Another Mystical Fire/Rock Slide combo is sent our way, but this time Nidoqueen flinches while Gogoat finishes off Electivire with a Horn Leach. + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + Mismagius continues its assault on Nidoqueen with a Shadow Ball, just now lowering it into yellow health. We have Gogoat use a Horn Leach on Slurpuff, but it proves to be a good bit tankier than I thought and takes only a little damage. It responds with a Return knocking Gogoat from yellow to red health while Nidoqueen uses a Flamethrower on Mismagius. Since the Rain's still around, this does minimal damage, but the rain ends at the end of the turn. Next round Mismagius finishes off Gogoat with a Shadow Ball while Slurpuff continues using Return, knocking Nidoqueen into red health. A responding Sludge Bomb dropping Slurpuff into the yellows, but triggering its Sitrus berry. + / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + We have Jumpluff use Sleep Powder on Slurpuff, further reinforcing that I have no idea what it does as Sweet Veil prevents it from falling asleep. Mismagius finishes focusing down Nidoqueen while this happens and Slurpuff Returns Jumpluff for fair damage. Aya sends in Drapion and together it and Jumpluff use Acrobatics and Aqua Tail on Slurpuff knocking it into the low yellows. A Thunderbolt from Mismagius alomst KOes Jumpluff, but Slurpuff misses a Play Rough that might have finished him off. Aster uses a Hyper Potion to keep Slurpuff alive, but Acrobatics and Cross Poison KO it anyway. Sadly, Mystical Fire finishes Jumpluff as well. + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + Mismagius starts using its Confuse Ray now, rattling Drapion's mind. It remains focused though and hits it with a Crunch in return, almost KOing it. This just seems to be the turn for it really, as Vespiquen's Attack Order almost drops Cradily to red health and a countering Ancient Power almost one-shots it in revenge. Mismagius fires off another Confuse Ray to confuse Cradily as well, but Drapion is still in control, KOing Vespiquen. Cradily is not so focused, doing nothing but hitting himself. As Aster's out of pokemon its 2v1 now, but a Shadow Ball finishes off Cradily and Drapion gives in and punches itself in confusion. + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - /// Mismagius Thunderbolts Drapion for some damage, but Giga Drain KOes it while Drapion breaks the grip of confusion. Annoyingly, Milotic lives through Giga Drain + Crunch and Confuse Rays Roserade, who promptly punches herself next turn. It doesn't stop Drapion from finishing it off though. Roserade hits herself again next turn as well but Drapion's Cross Poison does major damage to Aromatisse. Thunder deals good damage to Drapion, but a Giga Drain + Aqua Tail combo finishes it off. Vileplume lives through an Extrasensory/Crunch combo and even puts Drapion to sleep with Effect Spore, but it's Petal Dance isn't going to be KOing Roserade any time soon. Another Extrasensory closes the match. Getting a Prankster-Stun Spore Whimsicott is next, since Stun Spore is extremely helpful in general. As for Charlotte herself...that took many, many, many tries as expected. Still, the fight never looked entirely hopeless, so eventually... + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + Prankster lets Whimsicott get in a Stun Spore on Darmanitan before it outspeeds everything in the universe. It lands, but Darmanitan doesn't appreciate it, slamming our team with a Rock Slide. Typhlosion has one of its moments and uses Hidden Power on Whimsicott for neutral damage, but Ludicolo lives and gets to set Rain Dance. Next round, Whimsicott gets in one more priority Stun Spore, this one landing on Typhlosion, before Ludicolo lets loose with a Splash Plate Surf. This knocks out Whimsicott, but actually isn't enough to KO either Darmanitan or Typhlosion. The steam does lower the accuracy of the fire pokemon, but another Rock Slide finishes Ludicolo. + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + / Both of the fire pokemon are left in the red, so this looks to be mostly a healing round. I use Leafeon's turn to Max Revive Ludicolo while Charlotte Hyper Potions both of her standing pokemon. Roserade is the only one to make a move, but that move is to send a watery Weather Ball at Darmanitan to KO it. Talonflame is sent in as a replacement, so I pray it decides to Brave Bird Leafeon. Sadly I'm wrong and it one-shots Roserade. We have Leafeon Charm the deadly bird so it hopefully won't happen again, but Typholsion KOs Leafeon with an Eruption afterward. + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + Ludicolo's back, and since Talonflame decides againt using its Gale Wings for priority, gets to blast the field with another Surf as the first action. This KOs Talonflame, lowers Typhlosion back into red health, and raises Cradily's SpA due to Storm Drain. The Steam lowers everyone's accuracy again, but Cradily hits a Confuse Ray on Typhlosion to add more chances for it to do effectively nothing. Sadly, it still manages to fire off a Heat Wave; this misses Ludicolo, but Cradily is hit and burned. Most importantly, the rain fades, which is a big problem. + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - / + / Mega Houndoom enters and splashes Ludicolo with a Sludge Bomb, lowering her to red health. Hurt, Ludicolo wobbily finishes off another Rain Dance while Cradily defends her with an Ancient Power, lowering Houndoom's hp to red as well. Thankfully while all this happens, Typhlosion gets fully paralyzed and so can't take advantage of Ludicolo's current health. We use Cradily's turn to Hyper Potion Ludicolo while Giga Draining the rest of Houndoom's life away. We leave Typhlosion up because it's -2 Accuracy, confused, and paralyzed. Just to punctuate the point, Typholsion hits itself in confusion. Charlotte sends in Rotom to replace Houndoom, but is also through dealing with Typhlosion's statuses; she hard switches in Ninetails. Drought causes a Rainbow Field and raises the Sun, preventing Surf from one-shotting anything. Further, Rotom's Overheat easily KOes Cradily under the Sun while it's herb prevents it's SpA from dropping. + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - / + Still, Venusaur has Chlorophyll and outspeeds everything, landing the pivotal Sleep Powder on Ninetails. Rotom takes out Venusaur immediately afterward with another Overheat, completely destroying him through the Occa Berry, but the damage is done; Ludicolo finishes another Rain Dance! With the Rain overhead, Ludicolo finishes off Ninetails and Rotom with another Surf and KOes the paralyzed Typhlosion when its sent back in.
  12. Thanks Torrent Not actually sure what you mean about Weather Ball DemICE. I mean, Roserade already has it, and yes, its awesome. I don't think it's actually worth it on Cherrim, if that's what you mean. Cherrim is usually too busy setting Sunny Day, and even if I gave the job to Leafeon or something, Cherrim doesn't feel tanky or strong enough at base to use the move. Maybe in a really sticky situation I'll go back and breed it on, but otherwise I'll probably leave it be. If Victreebel...well...I just really don't like them. >.> Oddish for life! After the fight with Radomus, we have that whole sequence of events that takes a fair bit of time without any battles of note happening. I completely space on the Chesnaught event and head straight to Luna's. There, I get beat by the Choice item and the raw power of Durant a couple times. / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Ultimately, we lead with Leavanny against Volcarona. Leavanny sets a Sticky Web for Durant but gets immediately fried by a Fire Gem boosted Heat Wave. Cradily eats another here instead of a Signal Beam for some reason, but survives just the same. Ancient Power knocks Volcarona into red hp triggering Bennett's Moomoo Milk. It doesn't amount for enough though, as another Ancient Power KOs Volcarona through the healing. / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Heracross is Choiced for Speed so even Jumpluff doesn't outspeed it. So instead we leave Cradily in to be KOed by the Megahorn but lock Heracross out of Stone Edge. Jumpluff enters and...oh right. Sticky Web makes Jumpluff outspeed. K. Acrobatics one-shots Heracross. / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - / We have Cherrim set Sunny Day here, since Mega Pincer is very slow before it Megas. After it one-shots Cherrim with an X-Scissor, Roserade returns the favor with a fire-typed Weather Ball. Durant enters, but easily falls to the same now that it doesn't have so much speed. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - / Vivillon flies over our web though, so we send in Jumpluff again to outspeed and one-shot it with Acrobatics. Jumpluff is actually having a grand old time really. He continues his antics when the Venomoth is sent in, one-shotting it too. And then Luna. Oh my god Luna. Or more specifically, her Mandibuzz and to a much, much lesser extent, her Greninja. I mean sure, her Greninja outspeeds my team and one-shots most of them, but w/e that's fine. Her Manidbuzz though...let me just let all of this out real quick. Her Mandibuzz's typing makes it get sent out 2nd. Its extremely tanky. It has Overcoat, so I can't put it to sleep. It's got Brave Bird and deals lots of damage to everyone, enough that nothing sets up well against it. Its got lots of HP and Leftovers so this doesn't hurt it that much. Its got Foul Play so I can't really reduce the damage it does that much and it further increases the difficulty of setting up against it. Its got Roost and Toxic, so even if I go for a tanking it plan it just out-tanks the tank. Greninja is too overwhelming, so I can't set up enough against it without a ridiculous amount of luck being involved. Augh. Its possible I just missed some glaringly obvious strategy or something, but this took longer than any other fight by far...and I honestly didn't expect to have much trouble against Luna. Anyway. The fight: / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Luna leads with BoojumSnark the Greninja. There are a good number of ways to deal with this, but I need most of the good answers to not take damage here in case something goes wrong. Instead, we send in Cherrim. Greninja starts with a Protean Extrasensory instead of proccing Cherrim's Ice-type reducing berry. Stung but still standing, Cherrim calls to the sky with Sunny Day. Instead of KOing Cherrim next round, Greninja decides to use Scald...w/e same difference. Cherrim uses Petal Dance, getting in good damage. Luna heals Greninja once with a Hyper Potion, then just finishes off Cherrim with another Extrasensory. Roserade enters and is strong enough to tank an Ice Beam but Greninja is really sold on just spamming Extrasensory. Its still low though, so a flaming Weather Ball finishes it off. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Next is Jubjub Bird the Manibuzz. As far as I can tell, we have no effective means of fighting it. Still, something must be done so we send in Venusaur, who's strong enough to tank a single Brave Bird. Venusuar is faster though, and gets in the small amount of damage with Strength that we might need later if it doesn't Brave Bird. Sure enough, it just uses Foul Play. However...this triggers Venusaur's Red Card, forcing Mandibuzz out for now. This brings us to / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Chershire, the Umbreon this time. We wish it sweet dreams with Sleep Powder and switch in Leavanny. Thankfully, Umbreon does not immediately wake from that. We set a Swords Dance, but this is apparently too much noise, prompting a Dark Pulse from Umbreon. That's fine, Leavanny can tank 2 of those. We go for another Swords Dance, but Umbreon uses Confuse Ray...which is countered by a Persim Berry. Done and done; Leavanny one-shots Umbreon with X-Scissor. Which is nice, since I wasn't sure it would. >_> - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mandibuzz enters again now...but it also gets finished off with X-Scissor. Yeeeeeeesssssss. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - // From left to right: Bandersnatch, HumptyDumpty, and March Hare. They all fall to X-Scissor and it is so sweet. Was also mildly concerned Mega Tyranitar might live. One thing to note if Commander is reading this: Greninja really doesn't seem to use it's moves well. On alot of the trials on this run, it seemed to actually use Scald about as often as Extrasensory against Cherrim. And it didn't actually use Ice Beam all that much more often than Extrasensory/Dark Pulse either. Could just be chance and my small set of results, but it seemed odd.
  13. Oh crap, Fern. Its been too long. I completely forgot he was there and didn't notice him. Thankfully he wasn't too hard, Hidden Power shenanigans aside... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Ludicolo is once again evil with it's Ice Beam hitting pretty hard and Rain Dance countering Sunny Day. Roserade is fully capable of tanking an icy hit however, KOing with Growth + Giga Drain. // - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Scizor is next. Ah, set up fodder. We send in Leavanny to use Sticky Web and Cherrim for Sunny Day. Both fall to a single Bug Bite, but Roserade takes sweet revenge with the awesome power of Weather Ball. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - /// The Sticky Web from earlier de-speeds Fern's ridiculously fast Roserade, allowing mine to one-shot it with Weather Ball before it Hidden Power(fire)s. Mega Sceptile is threatening though, as it isn't actually weak against Fire and resists Grass. The best attack it can do is Dragon Pulse though, so Roserade tanks that and sets a Growth, one-shotting it with Weather Ball next turn. Krookodile tries, but is basically a free Potion, falling to a single Giga Drain before it can act. Serperior is Contrary and so actually speeds up in the Web, but Roserade can tank either Dragon Pulse or Leaf Storm. One more Weather Ball closes the match. Next we pick up a Skiddo, since Earthquake might be really, really needed later. And...it apparently has Pokerus. ...so we go ahead and do the honey tree Pincer-Heracross puzzle, picking up those Sitrus Berries and getting some EVs on Skiddo before heading to RadomusCain. Who took more tries than I thought he would since I keep underestimating that Nidoking/Beedrill. / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Zoroark leads disguised as Nidoking while we, armed with foreknowledge, lead with Leavanny. Frighteningly, Zoroark starts with Nasty Plot while we lay the Sticky Web. Its followup Extrasensory neither KOs nor flinches however, so Leavanny gets in a Leaf Blade before falling to a Dark Pulse. Ludicolo finishes the fight with a Hydro Pump, but not before eating another Extrasensory. / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - / Mega Beedrill is next, but stuck fast in the Sticky Web, its no match in speed for Jumpluff, who one-shots it with an Acrobatics. Through with all this, Can calls in Nidoking. Since this thing can actually one-shot my entire team, we leave nothing to chance. Sending in Ludicolo, we opt for a Rain Dance instead of going for Hydro Pump. It's Sludge Wave easily overpowers Ludicolo, but Roserade uses Weather Ball and cuts short the rampage. / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Muk is next, but Leafeon's incredible cuteness and Charm lower the damage of its Poison Jabs to manageable levels. Unfortunately, I forgot that Rain Dance doesn't work well with Synthesis, and Leafeon falls after only 2 Charms from that mistake. Still, this is enough for Roserade to work with, who starts setting up Growths in the face of the fairly weak Poison Jabs and Ice Punches. At +4, Cain reveals that Muk actually has Minimize, so we start Giga Draining back the health. This takes awhile, but eventually we get full life back and KO with an Extrasensory after Cain tries to heal Muk with Moomoo Milk. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - / Gengar wastes no time and immediately crits Roserade down to 5 hp with a Shadow Ball. +4 Roserade is not pleased with this and one-shots it with another Extrasensory. Cain sends in Samurott last, but it falls to a Giga Drain as he probably expected. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Areceus is strong, but Jumpluff is faster. Sleep Powder sends it to sleep. When El Full Heals it, we Leech Seed it...but miss. No matter, another Sleep Powder puts it to sleep again and Jumpluff hits it after the second Full Heal. We try for a third Sleep Powder but miss; Judgement does not miss. It one-shots Jumpluff. / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Arceus does outspeed Venusaur, but this cavern is not kind to it. Judgement hits as a type Venusaur is resistant to and leaves him standing. Sleep Powder sends the Ditto-god to sleep again, letting Venusaur get in 2 Petal Blizzards before it wakes and one-shots him with another Judgement. Arceus rolls the dice on another Judgement when Roserade enters, but Roserade is resistant and still stands. Giga Drain and the Leech Seed finally bring it down. After the Arceus fight, we head to the Grand Hall to train up everyone, since I can see this coming battle being difficult. Once properly prepared...we get beaten a bunch of times since Metagross makes a good impression of a wall and Gardevoir is terrifying. Eventually though... + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + / We lead with a Sleep Powder on Reuniclus, since its too tanky to one-shot, and KO the Exeggutor with an X-Scissor from Leavanny. When the Metagross enters to ruin the day, we set Leech Seed on it since it feels cheap to just double Sleep Powder. An X-Scissor leaves Reuniclus just barely in the yellows, but it doesn't wake. Metagross tries to one-shot Jumpluff with Ice Punch, but an attached Yache berry keeps our acrobatic friend alive for another round. Radomus tosses Reuniclus a Hyper Potion, but Leavanny and Jumpluff manage to focus it down with Acrobatics and X-Scissor before Metagross finishes off Jumpluff with another Ice Punch. + - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - / + We send in Cherrim while Radomus goes for Malamar. Due to it's typing its basically made of paper to Leavanny, who one-shots it with another X-Scissor. Cherrim sets a Sunny Day to take care of Metagross, but Metagross decides to not KO it with Ice Punch and instead just deal some damage with Hammer Arm. Kinda bad actually, since Roserade can't just come in and KO it without Gardevoir being there now...still, Flower Gift proves itself again, as Leavanny now one-shots the Slowking Radomus sends in with a single Leaf Blade. Cherrim's Petal Dance doesn't do much to Metagross, but it still does some damage before the Meteor Mash KOs Cherrim. / + / - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vs. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - + We send in Venusaur here purely to draw Mega Gardevoir into using Psychic. It does so, one-shotting Venusaur. Still, its open now and Leavanny gets in a good Leaf Blade on Gardevoir. Metagross goes for an Ice Punch, but Leavanny is actually pretty tanky, only being lowered into the yellows. Leafeon enters next and together, the two Chlorophyll ability pokemon outspeed and take down the Mega! Metagross Meteor Mashes Leavanny down, but that leaves Roserade free to enter and finish it off with a firey Weather Ball.
  14. If we're going with swords, I suppose you could go with Marowak as well. Can play off ships having cannons. Blastoise, Foretress, Octillery and such could work. Pirates are sometimes associated with monkeys, so Primeape and the elemental monkeys could be considered. Pirates are sometimes seen as being incredibly acrobatic since they swing through their sails and stuff; maybe consider things like Grovyle and Meinshao
