  1. So, after I showed off a few days ago the new additions to the pause screen, I think it's time to show off some sillyness, what do you say? ;D So, at the moment, I don't have all the sprites for all the characters costumes, because no money and whatnot ;w; But, for now, these are the currently available costumes for the game, and the new menu design and shtuff! Sadly, I didn't show off the Ability Matrix in this video, mainly because I'm still working on it, and secondly, it has graphics all over the universe on it With all that said, working with all this new stuff is definitely going to delay the game even further on, until the Ability Matrix is completed.
  2. Game Mechanics Update So, I myself and Nova have been working on some... neat little additions to the menuing of the game, as well as implementing new graphics and whatnot. But, that's not what I'm here to update you guys with. For the past couple of days I've been brainstorming ideas for a layout for the new menu system of my game that I've been programming myself, and what I have to show is something I'm quite proud of. Even though it's nowhere near finished, and this is just a work in progress. But, this is the start of something that I know a lot of people will enjoy: Now before anyone says anything about the graphics of this menu, here me out. Yes, the background used in the Ability menu is just a placeholder for the time being. But, this is going to be the new Ability Matrix screen. I'm not gonna give too much away since there isn't much here to show, other than it being a work in progress. But, as a start, I can tell this is going to be a really awesome feature! But, once you select one of the 3 options on the side, the screen will move over, and allow for that Character's specific Ability Matrix to take up the whole screen, with a help window on the bottom. It will be available from the start of the game, just like the costumes option, but, you won't have much to work with, since a lot of the abilities have to be unlocked via story event. More details on the Ability Matrix will arrive soon, once I create enough for you all to see. But just as a hint for what's to come. Each character has their own, unique Ability Matrix. So, why did I create this, you might be asking? Well, I created it because I wanted to give people an option to turn on or off Character Abilities. So, if you wanna challenge yourself, you can do a run with all Abilities off, except for Special Key Abilities which can never be turned off. So, if you don't wanna use any Character Abilities, then just don't use them What I'm aiming to create, very soon, is the option for Character Ability Points, so that way you can gain optional abilities that, normally, cannot be obtained by playing the main story. But, that's a very far future kind of thing, and I'm not too interested in doing at the moment.
  3. So, I still can't get on the server, because my account was stolen. But, how is the Pixelmon Reborn server so far?

  4. That is true. But, I feel that I attribute my time poorly with my game, because my heart wants to get the game completed, but mind is like: Just watch YouTube videos for today, and THEN work on it tomorrow. Also, I tend to spend way too much time programming, and not enough time eventing.
  5. Well, progress so far is pretty okay. I've been mostly programming the past few days, so there has been 0 story progression, at all, because of it. Couple with that the amount of testing that I had to do with the menu's and other huge bug fixes; I just haven't had the time to get any story stuff done. New abilities were made, and I'm right now thinking of a design for the ability menu. But, costumes are now fully integrated in, and for new readers, costumes does not equal customization. So, I'm nearly done with what my goal that I set for myself was. Before release I need to do these things: Fully program and integrate Ability Menu Bug test All sprites for the characters costumes finished, as well as sprites for the newer characters All story events in the Western Continent completed Have at least 10% of the Northern Continent finished Also, motivation tends to be a large factor in it as well, unfortunately.
  6. I spend way too much money on my game. Something's wrong with me.

  7. More silly costume artwork! So, Vice now has his Pirate costume finished, and alongside that I now got the menu selection for the Character Abilities option programmed into the menu, which... apparently I was just doing my math wrong and I had to program the way it wanted it done :L You pretty much have to touch RGSS in that way it likes, in order for it to work, essentially XD So, now that the Abilities Option and the Costume Option are now programmed into the menu, you can now change costumes at will, and you will now be able to turn certain Abilities on or off. Again, Key Abilities cannot be turned off. Anywho, here is the sillyness, which was not drawn by my current artist, but another friend of mine. So, if you're wondering why the artstyle is so different, then that is why I am going to be designing an Abilities dedicated screen for turning on or off abilities. But, for the moment, it's just going to function as asking whether you want a certain ability on or off.
  8. Yeah, I mean, it really doesn't matter whether gaining exp on catch is in or not, since the exp gained is negligible and you're really only going to catch that Pokemon once, unless you are EV/IV picky - in which case, nevermind. But, the trade off was that you can actually now throw Pokeballs at Pokemon, which, this wouldn't be a Pokemon game if you couldn't catch anything XD For some reason... I had the easiest time programming the menu selection for Costumes, and it only took me about an hour or so to get it working right. But, for some reason, programming the abilities option in the menu makes my game freak out :L So, the menu selection being available for Abilities will take about another day or so, since there is a lot of testing involved in this menu to make sure that the game doesn't crash.
  9. Allan does have some pretty interesting abilities. I'm currently working on another one for him, at the moment. Well, the difference between this and Lucky Chant is that this doesn't prevent Critical Hits, but rather let's you survive a fatal blow from attack that was a Critical Hit.
  10. Lost a lot of sleep, thanks to programming bugs. So tired.

  11. Character Update Time SO. I spent the past several hours having a heart attack in regards to EBS and it having several noMethodErrors involving throwing Poke Balls at Pokemon :L Which I never even noticed, until JUST yesterday when I was testing out the new fixes for Synchronize. But, I managed to fix it, and at the same time made another problem arise. That problem is in the form of gaining exp after catching a Pokemon. So, until there is a fix for that, catching Pokemon does not yield EXP anymore. That said, here is some artwork for a new character called: Velvet Amelia Rose, or just Velvet Rose; either or. She is a Witch, and a non-playable character, who has a secret connection to Krista, which will be revealed much later on. No, she is not Krista's mother XD Also, she has a tail, which is explained that she uses her magic to transform into various kinds of Pokemon. And what you probably don't see is that she does have cat-slit eyes. A lot of this can be explained in the intro of the game, which openly states that this is a Pokemon world delved into the world of fantasy, so a lot of this weird stuff is just par for the course XD It's a fantasy, JRPG, Pokemon game. Her age is physically 18, but she is actually A LOT older than that. But, saying why that is the case is spoilers. At the moment, I am still doing tests on the recent changes that I made to my game, involve the throwing Poke Ball bug, which is now fixed, but still needs heavy testing. Also, I added in a new Ability for Allan, called: Second Chance, which only activates if you took a fatal blow, and if it was a Critical Hit. What it does is that it let's you hold on with 1HP, if the attack that hit you was intended to finish you off, and was a Critical Hit.
  12. They are very purty, indeed I'm glad you like the Verdant Arte, but, I'm gonna be refining it a bit more and adding some more details to the animation scene, soon. Also, side-update. Very soon, I'm going to be creating a new menu for Abilities, which will allow you to turn on or off Abilities at will. However, there are key abilities that cannot be turned off, no matter what, such as Krista's healing, or Marissa's jumping, and Vivian's Shadow Sneak and Increased running speed.
  13. NEW VERDANT ARTE! Thanks to an awesome someone, by the name of Nova, I managed to receive some help in regards to some custom animations for my game. These same animations are what will be providing several new Verdant Artes. I spent the past 2 days programming this Verdant Arte, as well as animating the attack. Most of the time was spent animating, and the programming that I did was mainly for the battle scene with the cut-in and the Verdant Arte message. This one didn't take me nearly as long to make, as say... Renegade Strike, which took a literal day to make. This is Krista's Gardevoir's Divine Judgement attack. The same dealio applies here for this attack as Renegade Strike did, for Vivian. Also, here is the reference to which Tales game it came from; but if you know me, it won't take you too long to figure out where this attack was inspired from XD Zelos will show you what he can do, when gets serious. Here is the Renegade Strike Verdant Arte if anyone is curious.
  14. I'm glad you like them! I think they work nicely with this specific town, except for that they don't have snow on the tops of the roofs. Which, can be easily remedied. They are indeed stained glass And this is probably my favorite town in the game, mainly because it's snow, and it's not so freaking green and lush. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just that I've seen way too much of that in my game :L
  15. Just a reminder that Jet Set Radio Future has an awesome soundtrack:

  16. Sooooo, here is an update, for once XD I finally got some free time from Pokken, and I finished a couple new maps for the northern continent of the game. These 2 areas are some of my favorites, mainly because of the new setting that isn't grassy or lush. Instead it's snowy and quite romantic in a way. These 2 screenshots will be detailing Glaciem Town, and Pruinae Garden.
  17. Well, here's an update. I got stuff done, even though I spent all night Pokken'ing all night XD I got several new events inserted into the game, and I'm going to finish up the Namira Village arc of the game, which has been the bane of my existence for some time now. You're free? Free from what?
  18. So, a little update... I've been playing Pokken... and that is all. XD But no seriously, I've been playing a lot of Pokken for the past while, and it's phenomenal! If you haven't already played it, you should! But, I've gotten some progress for my game done, and I'm going to be a little... slow on development, because Pokken came out ;w; Competitive play has been a blast so far! Also, I'm going to be adding new skit faces to the game, and I will be also adding in some new animations! New Verdant Artes will be finished and they will be glorious!
  19. I may retire from Game Development if I get too invested in Pokken. But thinking about it now, that would be a good choice, so I don't get in anyone else's way.

  20. The bias is strong with this one. I'm going to be spending a lot of time with Pokken, since it was something that I've wanted since I was a little kid; so it has a lot of sentimental value for me. Getting the opportunity to play it early was an honor, and I kinda got bored with Smash because of the "sameness" in the combo's when playing online. That and I prefer to play as whoever I like playing as, and not being grounded to a tier list. I'm going to implement that into my play-style for Pokken as well.
  21. It does, yeah. It's a shame that the other characters Verdant Forms don't appear in this game, though. Pokken is awesome! I wish I could go back to Japan and play the Arcade Version again. I probably spent like... 30 or so hours playing the Arcade Version and my Bana Card was used like crazy. I made it up to the Red League in Pokken Tournament Wii U, before I had to send my review copy back. Maybe in it's full release I can get up to the Chroma league, and 100% the damn game XD
  22. So, here is Marissa's Verdant Attire in full color :3 And yes, it is a beast-like as you would imagine, mainly due to the other "half" of her Verdant Soul. These Transformations will not appear in this game, and will only be in the 2nd game, which will be out... whenever XD Also, I wanted to make note that I won't be as active for the next couple of weeks. Mainly because of Pokken Tournament occupying my time. I was one of few people who managed to obtain an early review copy of the game, and from what I can say about the Wii U version, for those of you who played the Arcade Version of the game, that Gengar was SUPER nerfed. I managed to play the Arcade Version when I was visiting Japan back in December during Christmas Vacation, and around that time Gengar was super good. Now he's been nerfed in the Wii U version and I am much sad ;w;
