    GOOD NEWS. We are down to the final stretch of the Verdant Tales manga and we only have... at least(?) one more month left of pages before we start selling them to peeps! So, in-case you guys weren't already super stoked for it, here be the storyboards for the final few pages: Also, yes, I am not above showing physical violence between two trainers. Brutality there be in this manga. Don't worry about the page count down there, because there is actually 3 times that many pages, since this is Chapter 3. That page count is just for me to keep track of the number of pages in Chapter 3.

    UPDATE: So, I now have all the skit faces for Mia Vance finished, since she becomes a temporary party member in the post-game and has a good 20 or so skits with her in them. Here is a screenshot for one of the finished skit faces! btw's Mia is worthy. I need ALL the Mia's. ALL OF THEM. During my livestream today I finished up another one of the Celestial Island maps and here is one of them for ya! It called the Winding Forest and there are multiple paths you can take in this forest that will take you to different, named, locations of pivotal importance and one area that is especially hidden that is not in plain sight:

    Glad to hear that. This past year I've had a bad habit of pulling a Hunter x Hunter in terms of the amount of hiatuses I've had to go on, because of work + school. Rest assured though, even if I do end up going on an extended hiatus again I will never abandon my game, since I pooled so much time, money and effort into it.

    For those of you wondering, the current, overall progress of the game so far is around 80% for the main story mode. As for additional content and post-game stuff that is going to be factored in at a later time, since that is all non-essential. However, for those of you curious who have been following my thread for awhile, I am holding a 2nd Drawn my OC's/Characters cotnest on the forums here. If any of you are interested you can find it in the the Developing Games thread and feel free to take a look-see! Also, in regards to the manga, there only needs to be about 10 pages left before we can finally get it all finalized and shipped out. We intend on selling about 500 - 1000 copies for this year at my manga artist's online store, Ebay, Etsy, Pixiv and at certain conventions in these areas around the United States: Omaha, Nebraska (which is where I live) - All conventions in that area I will be selling physical copies at the Verdant Tales: Symphonic Horizon panel every year. New York, New York City - At Anime North and AnimeNext my manga artist will be selling copies of my manga there as well - I may or may not join her for the Verdant Tales: Symphonic Horizon panel or not, depending on time. The conventions are mostly just gatherings to help promote the manga and to meet up with cool peeps. And I guess to advertise my game, I suppose. Not exactly proud of doing that, but that is, I guess, an option to go alongside it. Also, for funzies, I felt like showing off the anime panels that we had for the 2nd anime animation we did for my game, here: Also, here is some skit faces I am having worked on for Mia Vance, as she becomes a temporary party member in the post-game.

    In the bulleted list it says that you can draw in either style. But yes, you are drawing the characters, hence the Draw my Characters theme.

    There are, but they are all in my thread, here: You can feel free to dig through it and search for certain characters in there. Unfortunately, my artist didn't want to copy their descriptions in fear of spoilers. If you use the Reborn search functionality and just type in the character's name, it should come up with a search result in my thread on a specific page. Though, some of the later pages have a lot more of the recent character additions, in the last... 15 or so pages. At least for a lot of the later characters.

    So, I was originally going to have another contest, awhile ago, but due to money related issues, I had to cancel it. BUT, due to me having 3 jobs coming up and my income situation will be changing, I thought "why not" let's have some fun this year! Also, on Reborn I did have a 2nd contest being held but had to ultimately cancel it due to... finances and other nonsense getting in the way *shakes fist* If you wish to see the results of the previous contest, you can view it on my Group's Page. On October 20th, 2018 I will be hosting a "Draw my OC/Characters" contest on my deviantART Group Page, and the Reborn Forums, with PRIZES I mainly wanted to do this out of fun, really, and so that way I can get my readers and fans involved with the game. Also, so that way I can give out some interesting prizes, and whatnot to those who participated. Details on prizes and whatnot are below. During mid-September I will receive a huge amount of money from my family and taxes. As for the contest itself - the contest is simple, basically you just draw the characters that are in the gallery, and it's judged based on: originality, completeness anatomy/skills, canonocity (i.e. is it close to their canon designs and descriptions?) and composition. So, you can draw them in their costumes or whatever, but it has to be those ones, specifically. Also, you can draw ANY of the characters from my game that are present in the gallery! Unlike the previous contest, this time there are places for fourth and fifth, whereas there was just first - third place. So, now if you rank in 5th place you still get some form of moneys! $250 for First Place and a cameo placement anywhere in the game, whether it be battle or whatever. (Or something of equal value, like dA points, etc) $200 dollars for Second Place and a cameo placement (Or something of equal value, like dA points, etc) $100 dollars for Third Place and a cameo placement. (Or something of equal value, like dA points, etc) $50 dollars for Fourth Place and a cameo placement. (Or something of equal value, like dA points, etc) $25 dollars for Fifth Place and a cameo placement. (Or something of equal value, like dA points, etc) Anything below will win $10 dollars, BUT, it has to be a competent entry and not just a "lol here's a picture of... whatever, and I get this for entering and 'trying'". So, basically, if you at least followed the guidelines above and tried your hardest, then you get $10 dollars for at least trying hard. Rules Has to be their designs and nothing that you would attribute to them. So, basically, they have to look like how they normally do. Putting them in costumes is allowed, but it has to be the themed costumes that are currently in the game, i.e. Tales Costumes, Beach Costumes, Halloween, Christmas, and various other costumes that they wear in the game. Only 1 submission is allowed. You can have as many characters in the artwork as you want, so it doesn't have to be just 1 character in the scene. You are free to use any style you wish. You can even do pixel art if you really want to. That'd be... pretty unique and awesome to see actually. You can give them things in their hands like Poke Balls, or whatever. Even swords for shits and giggles XD No gore, blood or anything really profound and disgusting. Don't have another person create the art for you. I want YOU to make the art and not someone make it for you. Have fun with it~! How to enter: Just leave a comment down below and I'll add you to the roster of people entered. After commenting, and when the start date arrives, you can feel free to edit your original post, or comment again with your artwork included. If you don't wish to have other people view your work, you are free to message me, and I, myself, and the other judges will look at it from there. There is more than enough time to register, since I am allowing for there to be 5 places for prizes, so feel free to use this time wisely to consider your decision to register. Start date and Deadline: Start date is October 20th, 2018 Deadline is November 20th, so you have plenty of time to do your work.     Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... about that last update. Here is the long, almost forgotten Valentine's Day video I had planned to make back in February. This is a post-game side-quest that you can do after you defeat Falset at Destiny Outlook and Ferona-Nirvana. Essentially, this side-quest involves finding Mia at certain locations in order to have her join as a temporary party member. There is also some nice, shippy trash, for those, like me, who are total SAPS and enjoy that stuff XD

     

    But, yeh, this was supposed to be a video I was going to plan on posting on Valentine's Day, but... yeh, this be it. It's homely, it's good, sisterly-fun with endearing interactions and some nice moments. Also, even though Vaan is no longer part of Vice anymore you can still access Verdant Trasnformation, which is explained in a skit after this video ended. Which... I may show at a later date. But, I will also show off Mia as an optional, temporary character you can play as at a later date as well. She is only available in certain fights however.

    So, I was searching through some old screenshots that I was gonna use for a post, and I found this year's valentine's post that I was gonna use. This was gonna be a video as well that involved a side-quest with Vivian and Vice that allowed for Vivian to talk with Mia in the living world for 24 hours only, before Mia departs back to the Next Dimension. At the same time Vice can speak with Mia due to... certain things involving Vaan and you can uncover those secrets during it. It's a lot of lovey-dovey, shippy stuff and I still may make a video on it, since it is really cute and I know some people will appreciate stuff like that. Anyways, heres the screenshot of *gasp* TEXT! If you're wondering why it is cut off, that's because RPG Maker XP is stupid and doesn't let you resize windows :L

    Welp, I just beat a certain boss in a certain game on the hardest difficulty and remembered exactly why I suck at soloing him. It's been half a decade since I solo'd him and welp... took me 12 tries to get a good run and not die in 0 seconds.

If anyone knows what I am referencing, then you win the internet. Also, working on the floating island maps and real talk tho... they are a mega pain in the ass. Literally the hardest bunch of maps I have made in eons. But, essentially, this is where Marissa and Vivian come into play quite heavily with their overworld navigation abilities and prove their worth significantly. In the screenshot is progress that I have so far. It's nothing impressive, but I am trying to start working on these maps, since they have been a mega pain.

    Oh yeah, btw's this, along with a couple other skits in this game are some of the most entertaining things about Dawn of the New World. That's not saying much, considering the new voice actors and all...

      The skits are probably my favorite thing about this game. They are so entertaining and seeing them just makes me want to play the game again.

      It's almost like they're the only redeeming thing about the game. tbh, I only ever revisit this game for the skits and the fan-servicey moments.

      Yeah this game had some major flaws but the funny character skits helped keep me engaged.

    Phew, I just finished Tales of Symphonia for the first time in 5 years and man... it felt like I experienced the game again for the first time again. All the feels. I was actually surprised by how much I forgot. Also the PS2 content is a great addition, especially with making Abyssion 200x harder and Nifelheim becoming even more of a pain in the ass to clear.

     

    It was getting painful to finish it, when I got to the endgame, because I wanted to hang out with the characters more, because I enjoyed their characterization, personalities and when I got to the end, all that was left was optional stuff. Also, shoutouts to Scott Menville, Jennifer Hale and Cam Clarke for being absolutely amazing voice actors - literally couldn't imagine those characters without those voices. *cough Symphonia 2 *cough*

     

    Now to forever ingrain Sheena and Lloyd as my eternal head-canon pairing - FIGHT ME!

      I keep thinking about grabbing this up since it's so cheap on the Steam sale right now. I've just never gotten into the Tales series which is surprising. I love anime, and I love JRPGs. I really dig the Tales games art-style. It's just seems that I keep falling off every Tales  game I try. Now, to be fair, I've only ever tried Vesperia on the Xbox 360 way back in the day, and Zestriria on the PS4. Maybe I'm just not playing the right ones?

      Zestiria is a mixed bag. For me, I wasn't all too fond of how obvious its recycling of past plot-devices from previous games were. Vesperia PS3 is the definitive version that people should play, but thankfully they are localizing that amazing game for the PS4, XBONE, and Switch - would highly recommend this version to play.

       

      Symphonia is the best place to get into the series from, but don't get the steam version, since I heard it was an awful port. Get the Chronicles version for PS3 as it has everything the PS2, Japanese version has, along with its bastard sequel that no one likes aside from its fan-service. In most people's opinions Symphonia is the best, mostly for its heavy themes, amazing plot and equally awesome characters and its battle system that encourages... technical... skill, ewwwww! (sarcasm) Highly recommend Symphonia to start with. Its easiest to get into and its battle system is still excellent to this day. Also, this game does not suffer from RPG Syndrome, where the beginning of the game doesn't follow the standard trope of RPG's being simply awful in the first 2-3 hours.

    So, apparently I heard that there were Poketubers who were trying to crowdfund their own fan-game, named after themselves, because of course they did. Very narcissistic. But, wow... and here I thought I saw everything. Literally, you couldn't have a more worse situation than this.

     

    Poketubers with no artistic merit or taste, or even visionary capabilities + livestream crowdfunding for a fan-game = literally the worst idea ever. I don't even know where to begin with that, first off: crowdfunding, a fan-game is, no matter how you shake it, illegal and unethical. Secondly, it's being made by some people who don't even understand the design and theory of making a game. It's like, WHY NOT, let's have other people make it for me and name it after myself!

      I also find it absurd that they were going to name it after themselves. Like... how much more narcissistic could you be? "I'm gonna make a game, name it after me, and when you play, you'll remember that you're playing the 'me' game - by the way, made by me! Featuring me as the main character."

       

      It only makes sense since he's a class-A stoner and has a legion of idiots who worship the very dirt he walks on.

    I really want to compose a theme that has a similar, creepy and eerie feeling like this:

     

     

     

     

    Any theme that encapsulates a specific feeling I've always loved. For example Pokemon Black and White's Route 10 theme encapsulates a feeling of adventure and makes you feel like you're at the end of a long journey. Or even the Route 12 theme, which I feel is very eerie yet calm. I am not sure how I'd describe that theme. But Dragon Spiral Tower is a theme I wish I could emulate.

    So, tomorrow I am going to be streaming around 3:00PM for some good ol' game dev. livestreaming. I will be posting the past broadcast in a post, for those who are interested. Also, I am nearly finishing up with the final parts of the Draco Sanctuary/Tower of Guidance. Along with that, I will be working on more of the Dark Fang Northern Base in the livestream among other things, so I can catch up on some work. I've been lazy this past week, mostly because I've been busy with work and waiting on several phone calls. Also, trying to de-stress by playing some vidja garmes to help calm my nerves. But, for an update, I don't want to leave you with nothing, so... here's some of the manga progress!
