@nepeta I play with a network called silver league. They have a modified ou that just happens to include the team i got on my trainer card(considering greninja and aegis are banned...) but other than that i'm what you can consider a casual competitive. I've played on showdown and my average rating is 1300 which is not much to brag about

Well, just as the title says. Anyway I came here for a challenge that is somewhat like competitive. So from what i've seen and heard, this might be the place i'm looking for. Anyway i'm hoping some of you can give me some pointers before i actually start playing the game. Also, is the breeding mechanic similar to gen 6 or is like before gen 6 when iv-breeding was insane tedious. Are there any other mechanics that i should know about and if so can i use said mechanic in my favor

Gonna wait until i see some stats. I typically chose the fastest starter. I had few occasions where i didn't(oras) but i normally go the fastest starter. But based on design i think i might go with rowlet just because birds are typically fast compared to the lion and seal. But it could end up being litten that is the fastest but i'm only judging off of design.

I would recommend ferrothorn because it would be able to cover your rock, water, and electric weaknesses. Also ferrothorn will add quite a bit of bulk to your team. I do find that rotom-wash and ferrothorn make a decent defensive core considering they cover each other's weaknesses so imo, ferrothorn should be on your team. Edit: sorry for my ignorance, I just realized that ferrothorn is not in game yet. Another alternative to ferrothorn would be flygon(was gonna was garchomp but it's not in game yet either...) because it covers rock and electric and it now gives you a dragon type and we all know that dragon types are generally strong. Another thing i've noticed is that you probably want another special attacker. I would recommend noivern, but that just adds on to that rock weakness. Also if possible change confuse ray to will-o-wisp because burn goes a long way considering it cuts attack. I just realized the perfect member(more or less) for this team, kingdra because with focus energy and scope lens will make it a criting machine. Idk the crit machanic in reborn but i know for sure that this kingdra set gives 100% crit in the current games
