  1. I would please like to inform everyone that underrated means " underestimated in extent, value, or importance" ie. people think something is worse than it actually is. Most games mentioned are widely acknowledged as being great, and most have sold incredibly well and are by now cult-classics if not widely popular. Let's try not to dilute this thread with too many games that are actually popular and where the consensus is that they're amazing games.
  2. Heck yeah, Dominions is awesome. In which other game can you play... - A race of Jaguar Priests that Turn into Werewolves upon death all the while using blood magic on their slave pygmies? - A Christian roman'esque empire that tried to revive their analogue of Jesus through undead magic, and accidentally turned their whole empire undead, so now they spawn ceaseless hordes of zombies and whatnot while spreading plague and disease across the land to spread the religion of their now revived undead messiah who's mind controlling their empire... - A Magocracy of Divine Eagles created by God, who live isolated in the mountains while studying magic to try and to hold onto their waning divine nature. And did I mention that all their weapons are made out of ice and not metal? pretty rad... And that's just 3 of the 75'ish races in the game, each as creative as the three mentioned. Simply an awesome strategy game, though sadly quite niche.
  3. I know I'm just arguing semantics here, but many of the games listed have sold many millions of copies and have gotten incredibly positive receptions upon release, and not something I would call underrated... But yes, they are great games, though. A game I genuinely find underrated is Final Fantasy 13, a game that despite its many virtues is always disregarded as the worst Final Fantasy game. Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed the game, and while acknowledging that it is quite linear for most of the game, it's got the best Battle System in any Final Fantasy game, period, while having an interesting and thought provoking story the flaws of contemporary culture, Fun and interesting characters... and eye-meltingly gorgeous graphics. In truth the game is likely mostly criticised for being different from past entries into the FF series.
  4. Personally, I'm against distributing rare Pokémon through Mystery Gifts, since it diminishes their worth as compared to getting them at the end of long and fulfilling quest chains like what has been done in the game thus far. Something like the Mystery Pokémon you get at the end of the Police Officer quest chain is worthwhile and meaningful exactly because it's a one-time event. If such powerful Pokémon were given out freely, it would make the game less interesting overall.
  5. Now you've gotten me curious. What were the past years' April Fools pranks?
  6. So... Am I the only one who wants this be an actual thing in Reborn? All of Team Meteor could be Robbie Rotten clones, spreading laziness and junk food throughout Reborn City. The MC could be Stephanie, who'll have to fight Robbie by enlisting the aid of Adrienn in rejuvenating the city and stopping the evil plans of Robbie... Please don't do this Ame
  7. I heartily welcome our new overlord of snark and banter, Gossip Gardevoir Curious Cacturne
  8. I didn't get to finish the Slackoth line today, but for now, here's a panda-inspired Slackoth. As for Vigoroth, he'll probably also be a panda, and Slaking will be a Jade Golem. But more of that tomorrow...
  9. Looker is part of the international Pokèmon Police who travels to various regions, and on missions varying from apprehending dangerous criminals to thwarting the plans of Evil Teams. He is also an extremely capable trainer, which explains why he challenged the League.
  10. @KmK That Swampert is incredible, good job on it. That glowing aura is especially great. My only gripe is with Mudkip, in that on the frontal sprite, the darkest red is of too dark a shade, especially the hind legs are difficult to see, as the shade blends in with the black outline.
  11. Please welcome Breloombot and iShroomish. I'd love some feedback on the colouring of Shroomish, and whether I overdid it a bit with the dual coloured magnets on Breloom? Perhaps it'd be better if claws and tail were red instead of dual coloured?
  12. I claim the Shroomish and Slackoth lines.
  13. I finished another sprite, the Lileep line. Since Armaldo was originally a sea-borne creature made into a land-walking flower in my previous shiny, I tried to make Lileep the opposite, a sea-borne poisonous plant. So that's how I ended up with this horrifying monstrosity. I must thank Zumi for linking to the articles about colour theory, they were very helpful with picking out the colours for this sprite.
  14. Was just thinking the same thing, and finished the edits you asked for the second you posted Also made the backside of Armaldo to resemble more of a flower, and made more pronounced darker lines.
  15. I finished the Anorith line, and I'd love some feedback on how it turned out, and how it can be improved. I tried to model it off of a flower, so it would look like a roselike creature, that goes from a bud to being in full bloom.
  16. Oooh, I haven't made a Pokémon recolour in 13 years, sounds fun. I'll claim the Anorith line for now.
  17. Mine haven't been mentioned for some reason? :/ Higurashi followed by Monster and Madoka Magica.

Banned for making mostly harmless references.
  19. Here's the most appealing thing about the game: Smite has a game-mode that is purely focused on team-fighting, with accelerated gold and XP gain, and games only last 10-15 minutes. This part of the game is the best thing about the game. This arena game mode was the only thing that kept me playing this game for as long as it did, because the conquest game mode (the 5v5 on a 3 lane split) is very much inferior to the same mode in DotA and LoL. Another thing to point out is that you can get all the available Gods for 30 dollars, which is super nice, compared to League Of Legend's and Heroes of the Storm's business models. So in short, it's a fun game, with a great buisness model, and some great character designs. But in the end, what's the point of this thread? Smite is hugely popular with 20 million players and consistently in Steam's top 25 most played games, it's in fact the 3rd most played MOBA after LoL and DotA and probably everyone has already heard about it?
  20. As someone who has played a decent amount of chess, but would in no way call themselves good at the game, I found the puzzle in Radomus' mansion to be quite a fun brain teaser, and I'd rather it not be removed as it is genuinely fun to solve. A better alternative to removal would be a way to bypass it after enough time has passed, or give an alternative way to proceed for the player.
  21. As long as the error was in Windows rather than in the HDD as it seems, you should be able to easily recover all of your previous files. Make sure not to write too much data on the harddisk, as it will overwrite previous data. You should be able to use a data recovery program like Recuva or the like to restore all data from before you had to reinstall Windows.
  22. Perhaps branch out into playing other JRPG's? Final Fantasy 6 should be right up your ally, if you like Reborn (ie. expansive world, lots of exploration and side-quests, a dark storyline, great chracters etc.)
  23. Which part of the computer broke down? Because you can technically still use the harddisk to salvage your previous files.
  24. Well, even back in EP15 one ended up with way too much money since you didn't really have to use all that many items throughout the game. Adding a cash-sink like the renovations in EP16 was a great idea, but adding others earlier on may once more return the feeling of poverty that characterised the early game of Reborn.
