  1. @Revolver Perhaps you've already played it, but I think you'd enjoy Zidane from FF9, due to his lighthearted and fun personality.
  2. Alas, how can a parent choose a favourite among his children? What type of villain are you to make me denounce such friends as Aeris, Zidaine, Eiko, Celes and Locke as being inferior to one another?

    Need training

Depending at which part of the story you're at, there are two places to rebattle trainers. 1) There are several trainers you can battle in the Main Hall in Reborn city, and 2) There is a clown at the North-East part of Agate Circus. The first one is first unlocked after you get your 3rd Badge, and the second is available the moment you enter the area.
  4. TIL what the word coquettish means: "characteristically flirtatious, especially in a teasing, lighthearted manner." After reading how Holo from Spice and Wolf being repeatedly called it by Lawrance I decided to finally look the word up. And apparently, it's the perfect word to describe her relationship with Lawrance, neat.
  5. Hmm, what makes say think so? Lelouch is portrayed as a very sympathetic and heroic figure, not as someone you're supposed to hate early on.
  6. @Rshiran ... Uhm, you pass with flying colours, that was genuinely creepy. - Now this is merely a hypothetical. If and only if, I were to break up with you, how would you react? Not that I could ever do such a thing... *Please don't kill me. *
  7. So mysterious... Who could you possibly be? I'm not certain I can welcome a fellow who conceals his identity such as yourself.
  8. There shouldn't be. Perhaps you're just using it against Weak Pokémon? You have to remember that not every foe you come across has 31 EV's, 252 IV's in Atk and an adamant nature.
  9. I have high expectations of you. So let's get started: - What is the meaning of life? - Who's the most Tsundere person on these forums? - Favorite main female character from the Pokémon anime? - What's your fondest memory O_o - How do you show your devotion to our Lord and Savior, Ame?
  10. Greetings delicious friend, do come in, we don't bite much We are definitely not vampires, now where would you get that idea? Yes, it's true that most of us are only active at night, and detest the sunlight... ... But it's merely a coincidence.
  11. Honestly, the most important thing is to use the Pokémon you want to use yourself. I've named several new Mons that are objectively better than those you use yourself, but it can often be more fun to use weaker Mons that you have an affinity for rather than use others you dislike. Personally I've continued to use Vivilon in my Rejuvenation playthrough because I adore the Pokémon, even when better Larvesta revealed itself in my Mystery Egg.

    Banned because justice demands it.
  13. There are several ways to improve your team, namely, that there are better alternatives to your current lineup. - Manectric isn't all that amazing, and too frail. Ampharos, and the awful Magnezone are better choice (Magnezone is trash btw. and you shouldn't use him.) - Meowstic isn't all that good anymore, and if you want a good Screen Setter you're better off with a Sylveon or Gardevoir. - Jynx isn't all that good anymore, and Glaceon, Mamoswine and Weavile are in general better at what they do. - Wallrein could be replaced with something like Milotic, Rotom-W or Swampert (available in EP16) And as for your lack of coverage, you lack coverage for many things. Steel times especially are going to be very useful in EP16 against the Gym leader. Here Metagross and Bisharp can do very well. Otherwise generally strong Pokemon like Gallade are always useful.
  14. @Noir @Njab That's actually pretty awesome. Personally I wish I could sleep less. But I pretty consistently need at least 6 hours of sleep, and it's pretty much impossible to stay awake for longer than 24 hours. So you could say I'm kind of jealous of your incredible skills to avoid sleep.
  15. @Felix- Thanks for taking your time to read and comment on the piece. If possible, I'd love for you to elaborate on why you thought the post came off as pretentious and vague. I've gotten this a few times, and I'd like to find out why it comes off as such.
  16. Sleep. Some love it. Some hate it. But in the end, we definitely can't live without it. The question is thus, how much sleep do you actually need to function properly? And how much do you make up for through the intake of caffeine?
  17. Part 1 can be found here: “Can I really wish for any one thing?” – So goes the charade. When they say thus I turn an hourglass in my mind If the dull human can’t think of a single wish in 5 minutes, I won’t be able to make enjoy my tea after all So after the last grain runs out, that’s good-bye “I want to increase my number of wishes.” – the frivolous human says Perhaps he thinks himself clever, having invented a workaround for my terms. However, my impression is quite the opposite A feeble mind cannot comprehend. A wish to grant anything, the power of a miracle, is not such a thing to count as 1 or 2 It is the same with black tea, one cup can work miracles, Dilute that same teapot across 100 cups, and it becomes indistinguishable from water “I want love”, “I want happiness” To those, I tell “You are loved, you are happy”. And just like that their wish is granted It’s all so stupid Love and happiness are the same as air. It fills the world, but if you can’t understand it, it’s the same as if it didn’t exist And more so, they exist in many forms If one cannot specify the happiness one wants without resorting to such abstract terms, one will never achieve their wish even after a thousand years of searching I once met a little girl, after standing around and thinking she said this: “Please guarantee that my efforts will without a doubt bear fruit” Can you imagine? When offered her wish granted, she’d rather grant it herself? But she certainly had a sincere and genuine look in her eyes. Puzzled, I decided to inquire “My purpose in life cannot be relegated to a single number. To reach my destination I will have to brave many trials I do not desire to skip that journey, merely to have acknowledged my ability to reach it” I saw in those small eyes of hers a certain radiance that made her different from those other humans whom I had rejected I felt a wonderful aroma of sweet black tea that far transcended that kid, like a chirp of a little bird on the eve of spring Winter is truly a harsh thing After a very long journey, I had finally met another one with such a magnificent aura. It is rare to find such a specimen. They are the rescue ships showing me the paths to worlds yet unknown to me. She was the first, the one who drew me into this world. Out of respect for that willpower shown to me that day, I granted her the miracle she desired Though I never did state for how long she would have to brave those gruelling trials to reach her destination Who knows, perhaps she gave up midway? Throughout my days I have met a few such individuals They are the ones capable of diverting my boredom on this endless journey of mine I truly savour those moments, to waste such wonderful tea leaves would certainly be a waste. Though if you remember, I did say that someday my supply of tea leaves would run dry I think that such a day may be approaching, or perhaps it is already upon us?
  18. Pardon me if this is wrong. But according to this study about 1 million patients receive ECT every year. Am I misunderstanding something, because from what I've read, and been told, it is a widely used and effective technique? On rewatching the scene, I seem to have gotten this part wrong. When taken in by Sigmund she started panicking and becoming violent which led Sigmund to try ECT on her, and then she went catatonic as a result. I'll revise the original post, since I still feel this thread doesn't seem very relevant anymore.
  19. Well, she was clearly in shock and very depressed. Which should qualify her for being a possible candidate for treatment (Ame or Kurotsune, please correct me since I'm likely wrong). And if done correctly, it shouldn't traumatize her. So therefore the question, what went wrong in the treatment? Actually, that's exactly when you do it.
  20. To anyone on the fence about whether to donate or not, because they feel that they cannot donate a sizeable amount, please don't be discouraged, don't feel obligated to donate large amounts because some have decided to pledge 10$<. Ame is happy with donations of any size, or none at all. Less than a dollar is better than nothing. In theory if everyone on this forum decided to give her 1$ a month, she'd practically have enough money to reach her goal of having the Patreon pay for all her living expenses.
  21. One of the most infamous scenes in Reborn is without a doubt was when Sigmund took Heather into custody right after Corey committed suicide, and proceeded to use shock therapy to try and treat her catatonic mental state. Originally I chalked his behaviour up to him being evil and using the poor girl as a lab-rat for an experiment that didn't actually serve to cure her. But after some further research, I realised that electroconvulsive therapy is in fact used to treat several mental disorders, including catatonia and depression to very successful results. So my question is thus: Why did the therapy not have any effect on Heather? It seemed to have literally no effect on her condition or merely served to make it worse. Why is this? For all intents and purposes, it should have snapped her out of her mental state, should it not? Edit: I seem to have misremembered a crucial detail about this scene. Heather went catatonic as a result of the ECT and not the other way around. This invalidates the premise of the post.
