I meant more as in the stories told by the Final Fantasy series, rather than the gameplay. CRPG's and JRPG's have widely different gameplay and cannot be compared in that sense.

I really liked the first Dragon Age game due to its gameplay. Both DA:2 and Inquisition disappointed me greatly for being padded out and having kinda boring stories. While I am fond of the series it really doesn't hold a candle to the gameplay and stories of many major JRPG series like Final Fantasy and the Tales series.

Torchic is by far the strongest starter in the game, with access to Speed Boost and Bulk up which allows it to sweep many gyms single-handedly. Torchic is a good choice for this game, since Blaziken is by far the strongest Pokemon available as of Episode 15. My personal favorite Starter is and always will be Chikorita. This little thing is great, and while it's not as powerful as many other Pokémon it has great support moves and can be useful in many different situation. And if you go back to EP9 and breed it to have Toxic, it turns into something truly terrifying with a moveset like Toxic/Synthesis/Leech Seed/Petal Dance. Don't underestimate this little ball of cute :3

I didn't really bother leveling and was therefore underleveled throughout the whole game. My team was slightly below level 70 at the time when I completed the game and the level cap was 75.

You're saying as if it's difficult to watch Arc-V when it's actually interesting and good from the get go. Zexal on the other hand Was complete garbage outside of a select few episodes, and then it turns.... Surprisingly not bad towards the last arc of the series... But I wouldn't subject anyone to watch 100 episodes of something, saying that it'll get decent eventually.

Sigh, just watch Arc-V. Trust me, it's good. Interesting characters, great villains, a suspenseful mystery and fun duel scenarios has made the to something truly unique and special. And definitely worth watching. And I wouldn't recommend skipping episode 14-26 like BMIC says, despite episodes 15-17, 19-20, 23-24, being worse than the other episode, they are still better than the filler episodes of 5D and Zexal and worth watching. Oh and the show starts getting good at Episode 7, so at the very least watch the first season before disregarding the anime.
