Pokemon Reborn on TVTropes: Base Breakers and The Scrappy (SPOILERS)
Tartar replied to Lord Chespin's topic in Reborn City
You just mentioned the main leadership or Team Meteor. They're not evil for the sake of being evil. They're using terrorism to do what they personally think is for the best for the region as a whole. I'm not sympathizing with them, I'm just saying that I can empathize with them and their actions.- 31 replies

What does you think is going on in this gif? And on that note, let's go for some Higurashi questions. - How would you feel if Rika suddenly turned evil and became a omnipotent sadist? - Have you ever thought to yourself, "Hau~ Omochikaeri~!" in real life? - How do you feel the arbitrariness of hand gestures in various cultures? - Once more, what do you think is going on in this scene? - What's the better ship, Keichi and Shion, or Mion? -How did you first stumble upon Higurashi, and why did you chose to watch it? - What was the scariest moment in Higurashi for you? - And finally... Which of these pictures is the cutest? ... How do you feel about the fact that I merely posed these questions as an excuse to post gifs of Higurashi?

Nintendo Cracking Down: Should we be worried?

Just pointing out that if you were disappointed in XY and ORAS, then you'd probably not have bothered with Sun and Moon even if you hadn't discovered the Fangame scene. -
Pokemon Reborn on TVTropes: Base Breakers and The Scrappy (SPOILERS)
Tartar replied to Lord Chespin's topic in Reborn City
Except for the fact that as of this moment Team Meteor may be justified in their actions, since the humans of the Reborn region are actually the invaders of the region, and Team Meteor being the ones to try and restore it to whatever it was previously. So as of this moment due to us not knowing what their endgame goal is, we can't say that they're actually evil, just that the methods they use are very harsh, though this may be a case of them believing that the end justifies the means, to whatever utopia(?) they're trying to create.- 31 replies

Did you complete the mystery egg quest? It yields some pretty amazing Pokémon like Axew, Maril, Drillbur etc. So do that one, and use whatever you get from it. Honestly, at this point I'd replace Noibat, and then return to using it once you've gotten your 5th Gym Badge. It simply won't be any useful until it evolves. To fill the Special Attacking niche that Noibat has you could replace it with a Mareep or a Magnemite which are both good Pokémon. You could also consider adding Murkrow to you team since it will be available soon in Aqua Gang hideout at night. But otherwise your team looks solid. Personally I replaced my Arcanine for an Ampharos during my own playthrough, and you may want to consider replacing Meowstic with something like Gardevoir at a later point. But for this point in the game your team is quite good.

Don't you find it a teeny tiny suspicious that Nintendo went ahead and tried to crack down on the whole Mario romhack scene just before the release of Mario Maker? To me it looks like they were afraid romhacks would hurt the sales of Mario Maker, and thus they tried to remove the scene from the equation for monetary reasons. And NO there is absolutely no legal groundwork to remove reviews of Nintendo Games from Youtube, Let's Play's with commentary on Youtube nor Speedrunning videos on Youtube. These do not in any way conflict with copyright law, but still Nintendo decided to use their draconian Youtube policies because they were afraid that it would hurt their profit. Honestly, they may say this is to protect their IP, but in reality it's to protect their profits (and even a failed attempt at that since it's hurting their sales).

Pokemon Reborn on TVTropes: Base Breakers and The Scrappy (SPOILERS)
Tartar replied to Lord Chespin's topic in Reborn City
And honestly, we're throwing the Base Breaker term around too casually. Sure Reborn with its Black and Grey Morality there can be a lot of arguments about how to view a character, but this doesn't mean that anytime the view of a character is split in the community it becomes a base breaker, only the worst offenders are to be used under this trope. And no, I don't think Randomus, El, Cal or Cain, are Base Breakers in any way. Simply put, there isn't nearly enough discussion within the community about the way to view the character to warrant the title. Though I do definitely agree to Terra being a possible candidate for Base Breaker, since people so often comment how much they hate her for detracting for the story, or love her for her "dank memes". On the Victoria note, I'm kinda indifferent towards her, she has her reasons for what she does, and I don't feel she ever acts unreasonably, so I don't feel the need to particularly hate her. - Actually the event can be triggered the moment you return to the city after the events by going towards Jasper Ward.- 31 replies

Can confirm, I still use Swanna from time to time in my Intense Rejuvenation run

Honestly, it's kinda middle tier. It's not bad by any means, though it gets outclassed heavily by other heavy hitting Starters like Blaziken and Serperior. If you like it you can definitely make it work. Sceptile is really fast and has good attack along with average bulk. The main problem with Sceptile is that it doesn't learn very many good special moves outside of Leaf Storm through level up. and all it's good moves liked Dragon Pulse and Focus Blast are only available through TM's and Move-Tutors that aren't in the game as of this moment. And if you want to get Energy Ball you'll have to level Treecko to level 38 before evolving it. Thus the only viable option is to run a mixed build with it splashing regular attacking moves into its movepool. I say that if you like the Mon, go for it, just know that the early game will be slightly more difficult than were you to pick something else.

Nintendo... I love you and your games to death, but this has got to stop. Cracking down on fanmade games like Mario Romhacks and now Pokémon Uranium, and including the their draconian Youtube copyright strikes it feels as if the Nintendo leadership is out of touch with the way modern fans interact with the games they love.

Nintendo Cracking Down: Should we be worried?
Tartar replied to Raviel the Phantom's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
Okay, my estimate may have been a bit low. But the main point was that Reborn has so far gotten very little publicity and not garnered very much attention or trafic when compared to the release of Pokémon Uranium. -
Nintendo Cracking Down: Should we be worried?
Tartar replied to Raviel the Phantom's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
The thing about Pokémon Uranium was that it got around 1,5 million downloads in a very short timespan. An enormous number of downloads, considering that's 20% of the sales of Pokémon ORAS, and it would likely have reached 2-3 million download had the original links still been up. These incredible download numbers are far bigger than anything Reborn has ever achieved, which has around 65k users on its forums as of this moment, which implies that the game probably hasn't been downloaded more than 100k times over the 5 years of its development. -

Oh, didn't see you there. You say you're from Bavaria? Oh, another one... Well, I guess you can get in line. The brainwashing fascility is to down Ecetera Alley to the left. Once you're done there you should be a full Rebornian and singing praises to our Lord and God, the almighty Amethyst. What, say you didn't sign up for this? What do you mean you didn't actually read the terms of service for the forum? Geez, these Bavarians. -

And thus Anders of the Fraga lineage enters the battlefield to represent the Einzberns in their quest to obtain the Holy Grail. -
That's the thing I hate. It's a skill check, the whole level is set up to see whether you're ready for the rest of the game and have been lucky enough with your Micaiah Speed level ups. Otherwise the level is simply a nightmare and a slog to get through on Hard Difficulty. Sure it can be fun mowing down enemies in the dozens by a team of crack fighters, but imagine someone inexperienced playing the game and not knowing which characters are good and just plays with whomever he likes and cruises through the game enjoying it only to have to quit his save file because he didn't train his team well enough to complete this level? That is why I hate this level and think it's badly designed, it's too much of a difficulty spike compared to the whole rest of the game.
-
Funny how we have this part exactly reversed. Some levels of FE10 were just badly designed and unnecessarily difficult (I'm looking at you "kill 40'ish Laguz" chapter). Funny thing is, FE7 was my first game in the series. But I actually didn't know of the existence of the support system on my first playthrough, so I played the game without unlocking any support dialogue

What's with all the Fern hate? He's the most amazing, generous, moral, humble, kind and all in all virtuous person in all of Pokémon, only being rivaled by such paragons of virtue like Gary Oak, Paul and Adolf Hitler.

If you lived in the Pokemon universe, what would your team be?
Tartar replied to PrimeMehster's topic in Pokémon Fan Club
Together with my team of OP and incredibly broken Mons I will conquer the World of Pokémon and rule it as its overlord. -
I've played from Sword of Seals to Radiant Dawn to New Mystery of The Emblem. Radiant Dawn was by far my favorite in terms of story, though Rekka no Ken was the best gameplay wise. Shadow Dragon was probably the worst in the series... One day I'll get to playing Awakening and Fates, but until then, I've still thoroughly enjoyed my time with the series. Oh and can we get some hype for how close to release Project Naga is to completion? Hopefully we'll soon be able to have a full and high quality translation of FE4 Genealogy of The Holy War, which is supposedly the best game in the series from what I've heard.

I watched a few years ago, and sadly it didn't leave too much of an impression on me. It had its moments with great fight scenes like the Maka vs Crona , Maka & Stein Vs Medusa and the Asura Vs Death scene. But otherwise it kinda felt bland with too much filler and padding, and not enough substance. Sure the latter half of the series was good, but the beginning just seemed too episodic without enough interesting episodes. I still gave it a solid 6, and would recommend anyone to watch it if they're interested genre. But otherwise I think there are other and better action series out there.
