    Plot so far?

    Oh and then:
  2. I posted about this in a thread back in June, and kind of forgot about it, but I want some clarification and closure on this question I've had for a while. Episode 5 of Reborn was released back in November 2012 and involved the events at the orphanage and the capture of Heather and her subjection to electroconvulsive therapy by Sigmund. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the order of events, but it was first through a forum post that came out late October 2013 that Saphira came out revealing that Sigmund had been doing ECT research on kids at his orphanage. A year after it being a part of the Game. How can this be? Did you already know beforehand that the Gym Leaders at the orphanage were being mistreated, and in turn decided to have Sigmund do ECT on them in the game (and for what purpose), or was this merely a case of you deciding to add him using ECT, due to him expressing that he was researching it, on the kids into the game, and then it ending up actually being true? And how did Sigmund react to being portrayed as a villain and doing such immoral actions for the duration as a Gym Leader in the Reborn League?
  3. From my basic understanding of how copyright law works here's how I understand the situation. You have to actively protect your intellectual property, and if you don't a future infringement on the IP can be disregarded in court if you haven't been defending it previously. In Nintendo's case they might be afraid that if they don't go out of their way to take a hardline stance towards Fanmade games, it will prevent them from taking legal actions against real copyright infringements from other companies trying to capitalize on Pokémon's success. I know this is stupid, and as you said, Copyright law has gotten way too conveluted and is stifling creativity in many ways. But really, this is merely an example of how the copyright law forces Nintendo to act instead of actually how people at the company (hopefully) want to act.
  4. Hopefully this doesn't become common practice for Nintendo, as more and more of these "next generation" fangames are getting released. So far no major game has come out of the Pokémon Fangame scene, as previously the majority of games were romhacks which had limited capabilities and appeal. But with the release of something like Uranium, and other ambitious releases from the "second generation" Pokémon fangames in the future, more games will attract as much attention as Uranium is getting now, and this will perhaps have Nintendo have more of these "crackdowns" in the future. It's tragic. They already ruined the Super Mario romhack scene, and as of now they're probably looking to do the same thing to the Pokémon franchise. Hopefully this doesn't mean that Pokémon Reborn will get taken down, nor Rejuvenation nor anything else. Simply too much time and dedication have put into them, and if such a thing were to occur it would be a tragedy of enormous proportions for a great many people. And with Ame having already said that if she were to be asked by Nintendo to take the game down, she'd acquiesce, I bitterly home that the future is brighter than what I imagine it to be...
  5. I just started Legend of The Galactic Heroes... And holy sweet mother of mercy is it amazing. it's like a space epic on the level of classics like Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek... If not even better. I was a bit hesitant to watch it since it's from 1988, and therefore has kinda weird animation, but in truth, the animation turned out the be beautiful, with great character designs and awesome actions scenes. I highly recommend watching this classic to anyone interested in Sci-fi or epic narratives.
  6. Welcome to our humble abode, delicious guest I assure you, we are certainly not a pack of hungry Werewolves. Now where would you get that idea? Sure activity on these forums peaks during full moons... But that is merely a coincidence. So please enjoy your stay here. Know that we will certainly not devour you the moment you try to leave
  7. I wouldn't mind playing a Master if needed, though I can definitely understand why the Servants have garnered so many more applicants as compared to Masters. Honestly, it'll probably be more fun if we had multiple people play Servants and Masters separately due to the better posibilities for story-telling. But at the same time I'm worried that we won't actually be able to find 14 concurrent and active players (it's a lot of people after all). Including myself we have so far 8 applicants over the course of 2 weeks. Perhaps it's better to play with 5 /4 Masters/Servant pairs, instead of trying to wait for 14 people to join, and people can then join at later points if they find the RP interesting? Besides that, could you explain how exactly this RP will be taking place? Do we just respond whenever something relevant happens or do we work on a daily system where we post once every day, and then you compile the posts into a narrative?
  8. Here's a hint, they're all viable to some extent.
  9. Well, personally I don't have a lot of time to play games, so when I do want to play something, I prefer to play something new rather than something I've already played since I find the experience more fulfilling. Just wondering whether you feel the opposite and gain more or the same amount of enjoyment from playing a game a second time over starting a new one. Sorry if this wasn't clearly formulated the first time. Wow, 60 dollars or more on Ebay. I can imagine why its difficult to get a hold of. I just rented it from my local library a few years back :/ Guess you'll have to wait until a rerelease hits the WiiU, or try to find it somewhere else.
  10. Okay, so here's the idea. He's a regular knight who lived in la Mancha at the time of Imperial Spain, and was a slightly misguided but in the end not insane man who tried being a knight and follow chivalry code in a world that had long since outgrown it. He knew that the age of Heroes had ended, but fully believed that its values and morals were still relevant and could be revived by him preaching the ideals of the chivalric code throughout Spain. And thus we end with a regular knight, with extraordinary conviction and belief in his ideals, living in an age that denies him and his kind. The power has bestowed upon him by the Holy Grail the power to share his vision with another person, giving the the increased power (the improved version of the Squirehood PA) and a reality marble wherein the age of Chivalry is revived, and wherein he becomes a true hero and knight the like of Amedis of Gaul and King Arthur except their PA's. Would that be fine? Besides that, what do you think about parameter values? People have quite a high variance between their total values between characters (ranging from 190 to 250 so far). What is an appropriate value? For reference these are the values of characters from the VN: So all but the greatest and most famous of heroes evne break the 200 stat mark. So already the characters presented here are kinda breaking the bar set by the VN. What are your thoughts on this?
  11. Okay, I may reconsider the servant, as I do in fact like the idea. What exactly were the problems with the first draft, and how could I address the problems in a possible future version? Should the character be a super weak regular person with something along the lines of E in every stat, and have this incredibly powerful Noble Phantasm which projects his view of the world onto others and makes him equal in power to other servants, or should he just be a regular servant with powers equal to what he himself imagines him to have? And how could I fix the Squirehood NA, since I think it's a neat idea. And once more, should I write him as if he's a fictional character written by an author, and his Servant status comes from him being a part of people's collective consciousness (is this even allowed?), or should I write him as a real character whose actions and traits have over time been embellished and falsified by authors to make a mockery of the man, or even a real character who is exactly like described in the book, with powers granted to him by the grail (perhaps something like affections of the Holy Grail could be used to give a boost in power?) Honestly, I started writing a sheet for Kongming, only to realize that he was already a canon Servant...
  12. Here's a response to YagamiNoir, which I've put in spoilers due to it being quite long: All in all I think I'll scrap the character and think of something new. I think there were a lot of fun ideas in there that could be used and even salvaged into a good servant, but roleplaying someone who's mentally handicaped and prone to idiocy is going to be quite difficult, so I'm better off trying to do something else. Ps. I think you're overestimating his stupidity, as he was in the end quite a smart and had a lot of good qualities, even when doing thoughtless and rash actions with no basis in reality.
  13. Just out of curiosity. How do you justify spending a lot of time on a JRPG replaying a story you've already experienced once as compared to starting on another game?
  14. Whoa, no love for Denmark ;_; *Sniff*... I bet you only like Sweden because they make good video-games... But in all honesty, why isn't your favorite country in Europe Norway? They've the world's highest HDI, beautiful fjords, they're responsible with their oil money, have practically no unemployment, 99% of electric consumption is covered by hydroelectric plants... And did I mention the fjords? Seriously... Fjords. Switzerland and Germany are nice as well. Why Sweden exactly?
  15. You're right in this sense. But that's because they craft great experiences, not games with deep and immersive gameplay. The gameplay by itself isn't all to great. Imagine playing Dark Souls with the gameplay replaced by that of Skyrim, it'd simply be no fun. I know that they're great games, I personally have 60'ish hours in Skyrim, though this doesn't change the fact that I'd rather not want to experience the main quest again.
  16. This sounds fun, I've never read any of the Fate/Stay works, but I've seen the anime. So tell me if I do something wrong when describing this Servant, or even if he can be considered a servant... Though certainly he is an odd one to pick, hopefully you'll like it Hopefully you liked this, and please comment if anything I noted is too strong, or his stats are too great. I purposefully tried lowering his stats to levels lower than all other heroes presented here (having a total parameter strength of 190...) And hopefully Don Quixote can be qualified as a hero, despite being a fictional character and not a propper legend.
  17. Oh almighty PranksterRotom, please enlighten us, the masses, as to what the meaning of life is!
  18. Though really, Bethesda RPG's aren't at all replayable. Sure they've got a ton of content, but you don't actually want to replay that content. They've excelently mastered the skinner box and slowly drip feed you loot and content to keep you engaged for a lot of hours. Though I wouldn't say that this makes the game replayable, if anything the gameplay is the worst part of those games.
  19. Why would you ever want to grind in a FE game? The whole point is that your team is supposed to be thoroughly underpowered and underleveled and you have to play smart to overcome overwhelming odds.... Pardon me if this is a bit brash, but doesn't grinding invalidiate the whole foundation of the gameplay of the series? *Sees the absence of Fire Emblem 10 on the list* You should get on to playing Radiant Dawn pronto, its the best game in the series. (From someone who's played every game in the series but Awakening and Fates)
  20. On a sidenote, how did you play Awakening for 80 hours and only did one playthrough? I haven't played any of the 3DS Fire Emblem games, but I've played game besides Geneology and Gaiden. And the longest was Radiant Dawn which was 45 hours long while every other game was 25 hours long.
  21. The most important aspect that makes a game replayable is the depth of its gameplay. And here I mean the possibility to approach the same scenario from different angles or use different tactics. Were you to play through the same game doing the same exact thing you did on your first playthrough, then that means that game had no depth to it, since there was only one optimal way of doing things, and you had already found it. But in games where deeo mechanics and you're given the option to explore the game's systems and can thus can learn from your mistakes and improve your gameplay and do things differently than the first time. That's what constitues a system that can be replayed. This is also why games like Fire Emblem and Pokémon are so replayable, since each and every playthrough is unique from the last. Though this doesn't mean that every game with deep mechanics is worth replaying, just that it CAN be replayed. Naturally another way to provide replay value for a game is by restricting how much of the game can be experienced every playthrough, and thus force the player to play again to experience all the game has to offer (think Star Fox 64). And also this post disregards the replayability that comes from branching stories, as I tend to not replay those games even if they have branching paths through the game.
  22. - Favorite planet (besides Earth)? - Star? - Constelation? - Galaxy? - Favorite thing outside our solar system? Oh and how do you feel when faced with the scale of the universe we live in?
  23. You're incredibly dedicated to these forums and have some amazing ongoing projects. Especially those AI Bots, those sound wonderful, and I can't help but respect anyone who has enough talent to create a working program that can actively improve itself through experience... I'm sure you'll create an AI that destroys the world, or something in the future...
  24. - I recently I went back and read a comment you made a few months back, and you used this expression about the next EP 16 of Reborn: "it's like reborn's gran pulse". I hadn't played FF13 at the time, so I didn't get the reference, but now. What are your thoughts on FF13, and why did you use this exact comparison? - What did you study in college/university, I haven't seen this come up anywhere on these forums... Now now... Feed me more info. Slowly and steadily I'll accumulate knowledge so that I can secretly assassinate you and replace you on these forums
